Moon 1: New Leader

Antlermoss waited until Bluekit was asleep for the night, then made the journey to The Star Tree alone. He'd been once, a few seasons ago when he was still an apprentice. He never thought he'd be back here again, at least, not like this, and not so soon

Fireflies hovered in and around the branches of the sacred willow tree, the leaves of said tree looking silver in the moonlight. It was situated on a small outcropping overlooking the gathering pond, and if he looked closely, he could see the edge of the gathering hollow the clans met each full moon on the other side of the pond.

As Antlermoss approached the willow, he peered upwards into its branches, wondering if he was really the right pick. What if Moonstar was wrong? What if Starclan refused to grant him a leader name or his lives?

He shook his head to clear it, and curled up in the roots of the tree. Sleep came quickly and when he opened his eyes...

He’s the healer’s apprentice! He went through a huge redesign, originally he was a flamepoint Siamese based after my old cat! I kept his crossed eyes in honor of Miss Kitty (aforementioned old cat) ����

Fuzzy is just a little sweetie, he’s still quite new to his role and has to be tempted by Dewleaf with treats if she wants to make any headway with his training! I’m thinking of making him and Ferretspring half brothers!

(This is based on a post I saw Idk where it is but it was super cute seeing the gang trying to raise a cat together)

• You were the one to find the cute fuzzy guy. Of course you had to introduce them to the others, and everyone was so ecstatic to have a baby kitten around!!

• Hiccup was more intrigued as to how a kitten managed to find their way to the Edge. Where is its mother? Are they all alone? How does one even raise a kitten??

• It was kind of funny how the tamer of Dragons was struggling so hard when raising this kitten.

• Even naming the poor thing was a struggle!

• Astrid at least tried to give them a proper name, but no, everyone else had to share their ingenious ideas.

• Fishlegs was gushing so hard over the little guy and was not afraid to show it. They wanted to feed them immediately and hold them and play with them and djajkdks so cute!!!! Of course they were keen on calling them something sweet like fuzzypaws and fluffy.

• The twins were quick to shut that down, but they couldn't come up with anything better. All their names were terrible at best or stupid at worst. The kind of names you'd ask your 7 year old cousin to come up with like "kitten" (how original Tuffnut), smelly, and worst of all circle.

• Snotlout tried to act indifferent to the whole thing but, the moment names were being thrown around he decided to insert himself into the conversation. He claimed he could come up with something "way cooler". To the surprise of absolutely no one his names were all terrible too like "monsterslasher" "the fishinator" and "Murder Mittens".

• To avoid standing around all day bickering Hiccup decisided it would be best for you to come up with the name since you were the one that found it.

•So say hello to Gar the kitty! The newest and most adorable member in all the Edge.

Atp in the fic the Diner Gang would still be -paws, and Thrash is still King, so going aolely off the fic cast so far I have:

Shreddedstar (Thrash), Thornblaze (Barb), Gentleroar (Billy), Rosefang (Rosemary), Cragburst (Riff), Branchpaw, Thunderpaw (Val), Cleverpaw (Demo), Smokeypaw (Petra), and Spiderpaw in Volcano Rock City.

And in Pop Village we have Peppystar, Poppypaw, Tinypaw (Smidge), Creekpaw, Pinkpaw (Satin), Bluepaw (Chenille), Echopaw (DJ), Shimmerpaw (Guy Diamond), Largepaw (Biggie), Bumblepaw (Cooper), and Fuzzypaw (Fuzzbert)

love how flora’s a little shit about the whole aspect thing. instead of going “oh yeah wild’s actually a hylian he’s stuck in this costume but I’m sure he’ll get out” all I’ve seen is her just making up the most unbelievable lies and I love it. wild? oh yeah his name is link but he prefers to go by captain fuzzypaws. he was a normal kitten until purah spilled one of her experiments on him and he was turned into a hylian-cat hybrid and was raised by ninja thief street cats until he found a mysterious sword and pulled it. ganon? who’s ganon? his final battle was against all of the stable dogs merged into one seven-headed dog called the Demon Dog, and wild almost lost all nine lives fighting him

meanwhile wild’s on the grow SOBBING, begging her to just tell them because they’re believing all of it and she’s like “oh yeah don’t worry he probably just has a hairball it happens sometimes” because he is NOT going to be let off the hook for disappearing suddenly without telling her where he was going. she’s been worried sick and now she’s allowed to make fun of him

OMG the idea of Zelda telling them all he's called Captain Fuzzypaws is so funny. His origin story is glorious. Perfect. Wonderful.

Poor guy. He needs a break.

oooh clangen stories... I have a few but I think the one that sticks out in my mind the most is what happened to my clan, MapleClan. the whole thing was a complete shitshow of a clan, and unfortunately I don't have the save anymore but I do have discord messages of me liveblogging the whole thing to my friends

I think it started when one of the warriors, Barksky, died. he was found as an abandoned kit and died of greencough at the ripe old age of 16 moons ✌️ and then it was just downhill from there

after that my cats started dropping like flies; the moon after Barksky died, two more cats (including the deputy) died, and the leader chose to replace them with. the old deputy. who I demoted because everyone hated her. but at this point I was too invested in what was going on so I just let it happen

one of the cats, Houndspeck, announces she's having kits! great! surprising considering how old she is, but appreciated nonetheless. and then the next moon rolls around and she thinks she'll have. one kit. in that same moon, two warriors died. so now the allegiances look like this.

so now my clan consists of this kit (Fuzzykit ❤️), two guys who hate each others guts, and a bunch of old women. and in the same moon Fuzzykit becomes Fuzzypaw, Houndspeck dies. freshly orphaned and off to school! things are stable for a bit at 7 cats, and then Bogrump brings in an abandoned kit named Palekit. things are starting to look up, Finally

the only two guys in the clan, Juniperstreak & Squirrelfur, have a mutual hatred for each other. and I don't think I can even call it hate, that feels like too light of a word. both of their "dislike/hate" bars were almost maxed out. and yet they had the tiniest sliver of romantic like, for some reason

and then Curlystar loses 2 lives in a row, alongside Crouchpatch and Palepaw being killed by a gang of rogues. 6 cats now! the only young cat left in the clan is Fuzzyleaf. Curlystar loses ANOTHER 2 lives, leaving her with 1 life remaining

allegiances are looking something like this now. Squirrelfur & Juniperstreak in their love-hate relationship, Fuzzyleaf the only warrior, and the remainders of my crew of old women

so. then Curlystar loses her last life to OspreyClan. and now we're at war with them! with 5 cats left, 2 of which are elders! Blacktail goes missing and turns up dead, and then Bogrump & Juniperstreak die of greencough

this leaves the leader, Squirrelstar, and his deputy Fuzzyleaf. the war finally ends, after 30 moons, and Fuzzyleaf brings in a litter of 2 kits (Jetkit & Brookkit). MapleClan's story doesn't end there, but that's the end of the Bad Times™

I still haven't stopped thinking about Squirrelstar & Junipterstreak though.... mutual hate that lessened a little bit towards the end, but they still admired and relied on each other.... augh. toxic yaoi ❤️

I am So sorry about this essay, the saga of MapleClan was. much longer than I remember it being. probably close to 100 moons of struggle that all turned out ok in the end. I think I had around 20 cats the last time I played the MapleClan save, which is the biggest their clan ever got

I translated a bunch of oc names into Clanmew! Some of these guys come from an AU where cats have name-based powers, so their names are a little weird by canon standards.

Patchface - Konpenbauss

Saltfeather - Rraashbufr

Tallblink - Waymoropi

Sunnyfluff - Shemipfefi/Shemiraofa

I wasn't sure which I liked better, since this cat's name-power is that her fur is fluffier and glows with sunlight. Settling on a prefix was also tough.

Tindertwirl - Kroonshiga

Didn't have direct translations for either part, so I had to make do with "dry grass dancing", but I like the imagery of that, actually. It's like it's blowing in the wind.

Clearfrog - Swopiroeg

I had to make up a word for this one, so I mashed the words for water and see together to get Swopi- water so clear you can see down to the bottom.

Fuzzypaw - Kawupwyr

Originally a kittypet, but understood that his original name (Fuzzball) referred to his fur.

Turtle - Prpl

Also originally a kittypet. I find the fact that her name sounds like "purple" really funny.

Ohh I love Tindertwirl's name in Clanmew too. Dry Grass Dancing is evocative.

Fantastic submission! Though, the word for Turtle is Ooba and it also means "Bowl" in ShadowClan. Let me give you a couple more words to work with here;

Clear/Transparent/See-through = Hoa Referring to glass, water, some of the types of plastics that humans discard. Notably, this word does not refer to Clear Skies, Koof, which are a type of weather. Skystar's old name was Koof Yaawrl, which had a meaning closer to "Perfect Sky."

Spin/Twirl (Movement) = Wayoaya/Wayoa/Wayo Refers to the movement of whirlpools, eddies, a falling samara, a circular movement around. Contrast to Lirroo, which a shape or cowlick.

Kindle/Tinder/Firewood/Material gathered to start a fire = Kagnam Can be anything combustible, WindClan likes to gather gorse, ThunderClan's got plenty of dry wood, RiverClan likes soft rush.

Greypaw (he/him. 11 moons. apprentice, mentor is Rimeroar. oblivious, quick to help and quick to make peace)

Fuzzypaw (she/her. 9 moons. apprentice, mentor is Ryestar. troublesome, confident with words)

Riftkit (she/her. 5 moons. kit. daydreamer, oddly observant)

(she/her, 94 moons in life and 12 moons in death. former leader. childish, a good kitsitter and a great mediator. I'm also word-of-goding it and saying that she's Petuniafoot's sister for the drama and since they look alike)

Now, as this is the first moon, not much happens! The following occurred this moon:

Ryestar and Fuzzypaw train together, and Ryestar tells Fuzzypaw about an embarassing moment he had as an apprentice. It makes Fuzzy feel more comfortable and less rigid around him

Bushrustle, Rimeroar, and Greypaw go hunting at dusk, but don't catch anything. Greypaw gets lost but finds his way back

Petuniafoot is craving shrew... how curious. Surely nothing to do with his deceased sister and Starclan guide for the clan Shrewstar, right?
