Winton Woods Campground is a Hamilton County Park located within the I-275 loop. Since it’s a County park, it doesn’t participate in Reserve America. I see this as a negative, though they do allow on-line reservations through their own website at http://www.greatparks.org/reservation/campgrounds.

Hamilton County Parks require a car permit for entrance. The costs for residents are $10 annual/$3 daily and $14 annual/$5 daily for non-residents. Consider these costs as an addition to the daily rate.

There are two portions of this campground, full hook-ups and general camping. There are 68 general sites that are $29/night and 37 full-hook up sites that are $39/night. The full hook-up sites have 30/50 amp options. 12 of those sites are pull-throughs. The full hook-up sites must be relatively new, as there are no established trees for sun. Sites 1F-13F and 1R-11R are full sun. Sites 14F-25F are facing the other direction, so at least your camper or canopy can provide some shade. Site 12R has a lake view and a tree, so this is considered the most prime spot of the entire campground. Eliminate 17F (electric grid view) and 25F (bathroom view).

The general camping sites have established trees for shade and lake views. These sites are 30 amp only and have no water (typical in Ohio camping). For optimal sites, I eliminated those that are steeply sloped towards the lake or have trees so close to the pad, that they would hinder slide-outs or canopy room.

It is a very pretty campground and I would recommend overall. However, I will note some observations that should be considered. One downfall of this campground is that there are only 2 water faucets for water access. In addition, there is only one bath/restroom for the entire campground. They do offer two port-a-lets in the lower section of the campground. The only dumpsters are at the dump station by the entrance. We found ourselves hoarding our full garbage bags in the back of the truck until we found the time to drive them up to discard. The campground is secured by key-coded gate. There is a kayak/canoe launch in the campground, as well as numerous fishing spots. There is a large playground that contains climbing obstacles, like a jungle gym, small rock climbing wall, and climbing rock. There are two children swings, but it is mainly geared towards older kids. There is a nice camp store.

Overall park amenities include a golf course, driving range (but no putt-putt?), disc golf, “Boathouse” with rentals, Parky’s Farm (large petting farm/family adventure), Parky’s Ark (splash park), and 5 walking trails. The Parky’s Farm and Ark prices are online. The walking trails are well maintained. We did partake in renting kayaks at the Boathouse, so I will add the pricing to the upcoming photos for reference.
