Not quite a behind the scenes question, I guess, just something I wanted to know more about when reading Wolves and Wildflowers and fics in that verse... So at first Theon and Sansa's relationship is a (not so) secret one, for political reasons. And then later they adopt. Do they get married after all? How do they handle the Northern lords? And is Arya's child still the heir? Sorry if it's explained in a fic and I've missed it, or if answering would spoil something you might write in the future

Theon and Sansa consider themselves married, but it’s not an official marriage so the kids they adopt are technically only recognized as Sansa’s- the whole situation is basically this textpost, because I find the idea utterly hilarious. Improbable? Maybe, but I love it anyways. My canon now.

With so many of the northern houses depleted, the remaining nobles owe a lot to the Starks and aren’t willing to fuck that up by causing a fuss. Arya and Gendry’s child will become ruler after Sansa, which goes a long way towards helping the northern lords just not care all that much about her and Theon. By this point the north has been through so much shit most people really don’t care about what does or doesn’t go on in the queen’s chambers; the north is independent, they’re rebuilding, and soon they’ll have an heir apparent, so things are lookin’ pretty good rn!

“But wouldn’t a gendrya child be growing up in Storm’s End?” you might ask, which... I will address in the final chapter, so I won’t say anything else here!
