Genetic Key Code Alchemy

Het gezegde "Eén beeld zegt meer dan duizend woorden" illustreert de kracht van visuele communicatie. Al van jongs af aan was ik gefascineerd door beelden. Als een dromer trok ik me regelmatig terug in mijn fantasiewereld, waar verbeelding de vrije loop had. Woorden waren soms verwarrend, maar ik voelde de lege ruimte tussen de regels en begreep de diepere betekenis. Mijn intuïtie stelde me in staat om lichaamstaal, expressie en intonatie te begrijpen. Ik kon de pure essentie van dieren en planten waarnemen, met hun eigen unieke taal.
Nu begrijp ik wat ik destijds voelde. Het hele universum bestaat uit energie en kan worden geïnterpreteerd als een hologram, een tekening of een 'code'. Zodra je dit concept éénmaal ziet, herken je het overal om je heen. Het waarnemen van de orde en geometrie in de wereld geeft mij een gevoel van verbinding en diep vertrouwen. Ik erken de onlosmakelijke samenhang van alles, zowel binnen als buiten mezelf.
Deze kennis heeft me geleid naar de Araina Academy of Ascension ARACEAE. Sinds eind 2018 werk ik dagelijks met Genetic Key Code Alchemy, een metafysische technologie die moeilijk in woorden te vatten is. Deze technologie wordt doorgegeven via Ahneyah Yahrin, een bewust kanaal dat de voortdurend evoluerende frequenties verbeeldt in tekeningen, codes, klanktransmissies, gebeden, mudras en vele geschriften. Voor mij is de Yahrin-filosofie een toegewijde praktijk. Elke dag open ik mezelf voor de Code die dieper geactiveerd en herinnerd mag worden. Ik word me steeds bewuster van de diepte van haar betekenis, mijn handelingen, wat ik wel en niet doe, en wat ik kan veranderen.
De Codes leren me bewuster te zien, zowel naar mezelf als naar anderen en het leven, voorbij het gekende, open voor het nieuwe, constant in verandering. Het afstemmen, de stilte en toewijding vragen tijd en ruimte, waar ik mee speel.
Mijn intentie is om de zachte kracht van Genetic Key Code Alchemy door te geven in kleine groepen. Ik hou van het werken in cirkels, van samenkomen met mensen die eerlijk naar zichzelf kijken en bereid zijn hun hart te openen. In deze context zijn de Codes en hun subtiele, krachtige vibraties een welkom instrument. Zij brengen rust, vertrouwen en helderheid en zijn verweven in al mijn diensten die ik aanbied. Hun vibratie op de achtergrond brengt liefde, focus, creativiteit en harmonie tot leven en opent het hart.
Naast coaching en trajecten geef ik Genetic Key Code Readings en creëer ik activerende kunstwerken. Als je je diep wil verbinden met een specifieke code, kan deze ceremonieel op je lichaam worden getatoeëerd.
Genetic Key Codes activeren onze cellen om op een hogere, snellere en puurdere frequentie te trillen. Ze hebben een directe invloed op ons lichaam. De codes zijn zo uitgebalanceerd dat zelfs door er alleen naar te kijken en je ermee te verbinden, zij balans brengen tussen het mannelijke en vrouwelijke aspect in onszelf. Wanneer we deze balans meer en meer belichamen, wordt het gemakkelijker om authentiek te leven en in het hier en nu expressief te zijn.

Welkom op een reis van creatie en verbeelding, waar we de kracht en kunst van ‘creëren’ verkennen. We vertrekken vanuit een 'wit blad', een staat van nog-niet-helemaal-weten. Het is een nieuwsgierige afstemming waar elke ‘penseelstreek’ de volgende dicteert.

Voor mij was "The Artist's Way" van Julia Cameron een boek dat jaren geleden diep in mijn ziel resoneerde. Het is een bewezen methode om je creatieve grenzen te verleggen, om het leven en de vele uitdagingen die het met zich meebrengt te omarmen, en om jezelf en anderen met compassie tegemoet te treden. Dit is geen gewoon boek, het is een queeste die je naar je diepste verlangens, expressieve mogelijkheden, nieuwe energie en een diep vertrouwen in jezelf en het leven brengt.
"The Artist's Way" is een manier van leven die mij als therapeut en kunstenaar inspireert en motiveert om voorbij ‘het moeilijke’ te kijken. Ik geef me over aan het nog-niet-weten en sta open voor wat er mag komen. In deze fase van nog-niet-weten is geduld, vertrouwen en het vermogen om te wachten essentieel. Het is een tijd waarin ogenschijnlijk niets gebeurt, een incubatietijd in het donker, vergelijkbaar met zaadjes die in de aarde rusten totdat ze in de lente ontkiemen. Ik heb gemerkt dat wanneer ik op zoek ga naar een oplossing, ik vaak gefixeerd ben op 'het probleem' en reageer vanuit mijn hoofd met mogelijke denkpistes. Ik geef echter de voorkeur aan het zien van obstakels, problemen, emoties of crisis als kansen voor verandering. Ik trek me terug in de schaduw, vaak in stilte en alleen-zijn en exploreer deze moeilijkere fases, wetende dat ze kansen zijn voor vernieuwing. Ik verken de diepten en geef me meer in balans over aan het dromende en scheppende leven dat vele zorgen 'oplost'. Maar altijd blijft die droom aanwezig, zelfs in het donker.

Horses are among the world’s most elite athletes: When galloping, they can consume twice as much oxygen per kilogram as the fittest humans. All that oxygen supercharges horses’ cells’ energy-producing compartments as they crank out ATP, the chemical needed to power their impressive muscles. But making so much cellular fuel so quickly comes with a catch: the manufacture of pernicious byproduct molecules called reactive oxygen species (ROS), which can wreak havoc in cells.
How horses dealt with this biological trade-off and evolved into premier endurance athletes has long intrigued biologists. Researchers report today in Science that they have uncovered a big part of it, identifying a key mutation that lets horses safely produce so much ATP. The trait helped pave the way for horses to go from dog-size critters millions of years ago to the high-endurance athletes we know today.
The study’s detailed molecular work makes it “exceptional,” says José Calbet, an expert on the cellular responses to exercise at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria who wasn’t involved with the study.
The mutation in question occurs in the gene that encodes a protein called KEAP1, which acts as a biochemical bouncer, binding to a different protein called NRF2 to prevent it from entering the cell’s nucleus, where it would otherwise activate stress-response genes that help blunt cell damage.
But ROS can help NRF2 sneak in by causing KEAP1 to release its bind on the protein, allowing it to enter the nucleus and trigger the cell’s stress-response genes.
Johns Hopkins University ophthalmologist and clinician scientist Elia Duh, a senior author of the new study, didn’t set out to study horses. Initially, Duh was interested in the KEAP1-NRF2 system because its role in activating stress-response genes makes it a tempting target for treating inflammation—and aging-related conditions, such as blinding retinal diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, and neurodegeneration.
Duh wondered whether any insights could be gleaned from studying the evolution of these proteins in different animals. So, he teamed up with Gianni Castiglione, an evolutionary biologist and biochemist at Vanderbilt University. Together, they scanned hundreds of vertebrate genomes looking for notable mutations to the gene for KEAP1.
The team’s genomic work revealed birds had almost completely lost the gene, presumably an adaptation to the extreme demands of flight. When they looked in horses, researchers noticed what initially appeared to be a DNA sequence that encoded an unusually short—and therefore presumably nonfunctional—version of the KEAP1 protein. But when Duh’s and Castiglione’s team grew horse cells in culture, it discovered the protein was very much there and working. “Naturally, I was worried I was doing something wrong,” Castiglione says. “Then one day, a light bulb went off.”
As it turns out, the computer algorithm scientists had used to scan the horse genome had made a mistake. The algorithm had spotted a specific kind of mutation in the part of the KEAP1 gene that changed the messenger RNA from CGA—which codes for the amino acid arginine—to UGA, which is what’s known as a “stop codon.”
Normally, the cellular machinery interprets UGA as a sign to stop translating the RNA into a protein. But instead, the horses’ genetic machinery recodes the stop codon into a different amino acid, cysteine, causing it to ignore that order. This phenomenon, known as a stop codon read-through, is common among viruses but rare in multicellular organisms.
“The identification of this evolutionarily significant UGA recoding event represents a potentially seminal finding, offering a model for uncovering other yet-unidentified cases of stop codon read-through,” says Hozumi Motohashi, a biologist at Tohoku University who has studied KEAP1 and NRF2.
That the replacement is a cysteine is particularly notable, Castiglione says. KEAP1 senses cellular stress through its cysteines, which contain sulfur atoms whose reactions with ROS, induce the chemical changes that cause KEAP1 to let go of NRF2. The mutation the researchers had identified adds another place on KEAP1 for ROS to interact, which makes the protein more sensitive to stress—and lets horse cells respond much faster to the cellular stress of intense exercise. “It does make complete sense [that] by introducing another cysteine, another sulfur, you would have heightened sensitivity,” Castiglione says.
What’s more, this tweaking of KEAP1 is a “[key] genetic component to the puzzle of the evolution of horses,” Duh says. “Once they figured out how to run, they could occupy all kinds of ecological niches,” Castiglione adds.
The finding could also point the way toward new kinds of drugs to treat diseases by targeting the specific parts of the KEAP1 protein that help horses hoof it. “By looking at what evolution has figured out, we know this is a viable strategy,” Castiglione says.

Led by Nanjing Agricultural University, the study was published in the April 2024 edition of Horticulture Research. Researchers meticulously constructed a complete 3.45 Gb genome of Panax ginseng, identifying 77,266 protein-coding genes and focusing on the pathways and biosynthesis of ginsenosides—crucial for the plant's medicinal properties. Epigenetics: A Journey Through Inheritance Beyond Genes
For centuries, scientists have been fascinated by the mysteries of heredity and how traits are passed down from generation to generation. DNA, the molecule that stores our genetic code, was once thought to be the sole determinant of our characteristics. However, a new frontier in biology, revealing a captivating layer of complexity beyond the DNA sequence itself: Epigenetics.
What is Epigenetics?
The term "epigenetics" was first coined in the 1940s by British biologist Conrad Waddington, but it wasn't until the late 20th century that its significance truly blossomed. Think of your DNA as the hardware: it contains the basic instructions for building and running your body. These modifications, like chemical tags or changes in the packaging of DNA, don't alter the underlying code itself, but they can have a profound impact on how it's read and interpreted.

It's really cool, and the implications for species preservation going forward, as well as bringing back lost ones is profound - though not without warranted concern or consideration.
Snippets from the article, though the article should be free to access and is definitely worth the read if you have the time - it's long and I can't accurately represent the whole of it in just a few quotes, but it does discuss the concerns, consequences and ethics, too.
Matt James, the company’s chief animal officer—who once worked as senior director of animal care at the Dallas Zoo and Zoo Miami, where he managed the welfare of 7,000 animals representing 500 species—felt the significance of the science when Romulus and Remus were just 5 or 6 weeks old. The staff was weighing the little pups, and one of the veterinary techs began singing a song from The Little Mermaid. When she reached a point at which she vocalized first up, then down, Romulus and Remus turned her way and began howling in response. “For me,” James says, “it was sort of a shocking, chilling moment.” These pups were the first to produce a howl that hadn’t been heard on earth in over 10,000 years.
Relying on deft genetic engineering and ancient, preserved DNA, Colossal scientists deciphered the dire wolf genome, rewrote the genetic code of the common gray wolf to match it, and, using domestic dogs as surrogate mothers, brought Romulus, Remus, and their sister, 2-month-old Khaleesi, into the world during three separate births last fall and this winter—effectively for the first time de-extincting a line of beasts whose live gene pool long ago vanished.
The woolly mouse, to a minor extent, and the dire wolves, to a scientifically seismic one, are first steps in that direction. But not everyone agrees. Scientific history is rife with examples of newly introduced species becoming invasive species—the doctrine of unintended consequences biting humans when we played too cute with other animals. An exotic pet escapes and multiplies, decimating native species. A toad brought in to kill off beetles ends up killing off the marsupials that eat the toads. And genetic engineering is still a nascent field. Nearly 30 years after Dolly the sheep was cloned, the technology still produces problems in cloned animals, such as large birth size, organ defects, premature aging, and immune-system problems. What’s more, cloning can be hard on the surrogate mother that gestates the cloned embryo.
It's worth noting that the team does not plan to try and re-introduce these guys to the wild.
Also "to a scientifically seismic extent" may be a phrase I'm adding to my arsenal in the future.

Cloning typically requires snipping a tissue sample from a donor animal and then isolating a single cell. The nucleus of that cell—which contains all of the animal’s DNA—is then extracted and inserted into an ovum whose own nucleus has been removed. That ovum is allowed to develop into an embryo and then implanted in a surrogate mother’s womb. The baby that results from that is an exact genetic duplicate of the original donor animal. This is the way the first cloned animal, Dolly, was created in 1996. Since then, pigs, cats, deer, horses, mice, goats, gray wolves, and more than 1,500 dogs have been cloned using the same technology. Colossal’s dire wolf work took a less invasive approach, isolating cells not from a tissue sample of a donor gray wolf, but from its blood. The cells they selected are known as endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs), which form the lining of blood vessels. The scientists then rewrote the 14 key genes in the cell’s nucleus to match those of the dire wolf; no ancient dire wolf DNA was actually spliced into the gray wolf’s genome. The edited nucleus was then transferred into a denucleated ovum. The scientists produced 45 engineered ova, which were allowed to develop into embryos in the lab. Those embryos were inserted into the wombs of two surrogate hound mixes, chosen mostly for their overall health and, not insignificantly, their size, since they’d be giving birth to large pups. In each mother, one embryo took hold and proceeded to a full-term pregnancy. (No dogs experienced a miscarriage or stillbirth.) On Oct. 1, 2024, the surrogates birthed Romulus and Remus. A few months later, Colossal repeated the procedure with another clutch of embryos and another surrogate mother. On Jan. 30, 2025, that dog gave birth to Khaleesi.

Demigods & Their Legacy.
Demigod Reproduction: The Complex Dance of Apex DNA
While Demigods are extraordinary beings that surpass the physical and mental limitations of ordinary humans, their ability to reproduce is fraught with biological challenges. The very same qualities that make them powerful also create insurmountable barriers to natural reproduction, making the continuation of their lineage an improbable, almost impossible feat.
Why Demigods Cannot Reproduce with Humans:
The DNA of Demigods has been fundamentally altered, either through alien DNA infusion or advanced genetic engineering. This advanced DNA is incompatible with the relatively simple genetic structure of ordinary humans. Key factors contributing to this incompatibility include:
• Genetic Complexity: The DNA of Demigods is exponentially more complex than human DNA. Ordinary human genomes cannot "read" or process the foreign code of Demigod DNA, resulting in developmental failure during fertilization. The human egg or sperm is simply incapable of merging with the superior genetic material, as it lacks the mechanisms needed to accommodate such advanced biology.
• Immune Rejection: The human body instinctively treats the alien-Demigod DNA as a threat, triggering a rejection response. This rejection occurs at the molecular level, preventing successful conception or causing early developmental failure.
• Physiological Imbalances: Even if fertilization occurs, the immense biological differences would make the pregnancy unsustainable. The hybrid zygote would require far more energy and resources to develop than the human body can provide, leading to fatal complications for both the mother and the offspring.For these reasons, reproduction between Demigods and humans is not feasible, effectively isolating Demigods as a separate, genetically unique species.
Demigod-to-Demigod Reproduction: The Battle of Apex DNA
While reproduction between Demigods is theoretically possible, it is an equally challenging and rare phenomenon due to the advanced and highly competitive nature of their DNA.
• DNA Fighting for Dominance: When a male and female Demigod attempt to conceive, their DNA does not merge harmoniously. Instead, it competes. This "genetic war" occurs because both parental DNA strands are apex-level and refuse to yield dominance. Rather than working together to create a balanced genome for the offspring, the two DNA strands aggressively break down each other in an attempt to overwrite the other.
• Miscarriage and Cellular Breakdown: In most cases, the competitive nature of the DNA results in catastrophic failure. The zygote collapses during the early stages of cell division, leading to a miscarriage. The female's body often detects the instability of the embryo and terminates the pregnancy as a protective mechanism.
• High Energy Costs: Even if an embryo survives the initial stages of genetic competition, the strain on the mother’s body is immense. The developing fetus, containing apex DNA, would demand far more energy and nutrients than the mother could reasonably provide, leading to life-threatening complications. This immense toll discourages many Demigods from even attempting to reproduce.
• Low Success Rates: Across recorded cases, the success rate of Demigod-to-Demigod reproduction is estimated to be less than 1%. For every successful birth, countless others end in failure, making the process both emotionally and physically taxing for the parents.
The Rare Offspring of Demigods:
On the rare occasions when a Demigod couple does successfully reproduce, the resulting child is a being of extraordinary potential. These "second-generation Demigods" often display enhanced versions of their parents’ abilities, as their DNA has been selectively "refined" through the grueling reproductive process.
• Unpredictable Powers: Second-generation Demigods may inherit traits from both parents, but the powers they manifest are often unpredictable. The chaotic merging of apex DNA can create entirely new abilities or amplify existing ones to unimaginable levels.
• Biological Fragility: Despite their immense potential, second-generation Demigods are often biologically fragile during infancy. Their bodies require constant monitoring and care to ensure they survive the developmental process.
• Symbol of Hope or Danger: Due to their rarity, second-generation Demigods are often viewed as symbols of hope or the next step in the evolution of their kind. However, their unpredictability also makes them a potential threat, as they may possess powers beyond even the understanding of their parents or creators.
Unfortunately no known Second-Gen Demigod has made it past the infancy stage after birth. As such many have given up on Second-Gen Demigods.
Ethical and Practical Concerns:
The difficulties of Demigod reproduction are not only biological but also sociopolitical. Governments and corporations view Demigods as weapons, and the thought of them creating new, potentially uncontrollable beings raises serious ethical questions.
• Government Control: The two Empires of the world impose strict regulations on Demigods, preventing them from forming relationships or reproducing without oversight. These policies are designed to maintain control over the Demigod population (Of which only 43 exist world wide(U.S. is not included)) and prevent the emergence of rogue offspring.
• Moral Dilemmas: For Demigods themselves, the decision to reproduce is fraught with moral and emotional dilemmas. Knowing the likelihood of failure and the potential suffering involved, many choose to forgo reproduction altogether.
• Alternative Methods: Scientists have attempted to circumvent the challenges of natural reproduction by using artificial methods, such as cloning or gene-splicing, to create new Demigods. While these methods have seen some success, they raise even more ethical concerns about the commodification of life and the boundaries of science.
Conclusion:
The reproduction of Demigods represents the ultimate paradox: they are beings of immense power and potential, yet their biology often prevents them from passing on their legacy. This limitation isolates them further from humanity, reinforcing their status as weapons and tools rather than living beings with a future of their own. The rare success of Demigod reproduction remains a testament to the resilience of life, but it also serves as a stark reminder of the cost of power and the fragility of existence, even for those who seem invincible.

I was reading back through the off-sting stuff and was wondering about a few things:
1. What sort of maintenance do the puppets require if any?
2. What would happen if you cut one of the neuron pack wires?
3. Can they get bruises?
if they are hurt, they can heal if wounds are kept clean and covered, so long as the injuries don't take large chunks of the exoskeleton out. these will not mend naturally, and an iterator still inside a functioning can is needed to fix them. this is also the case for loss of limbs, serious breaks, or anything losing function, like an eye or hearing, for example. the biggest problem in situations like this is that an iterator cannot grow new parts or replacement exoskeleton for an iterator if they don't have their original blueprints on hand because the body will reject the drafts if the genetic code doesn't entirely match. this necessity didnt become widely known until a considerable time After the Gift was distributed, so lots of iterators wandering the wastes don't have this important information and need to be really careful not to become seriously injured. as for maintenance Unrelated to being hurt, if they dont get water every day they may need slag reset keys to fix any buildup
nnooooot sure! i think as long as they still had one or two of them in tact they would be fine. they're probably not very hard to replace and can be done by most mobile iterators who are handy enough. if they were all broken theyd probably be unconscious until they were repaired, like they were disconnected from their brains basically. the rest of the functions of their bodies automatically maintain themselves so this cant kill them or anything like that but it should def be fixed asap

Welkom op een reis van creatie en verbeelding, waar we de kracht en kunst van ‘creëren’ verkennen. We vertrekken vanuit een 'wit blad', een staat van nog-niet-helemaal-weten. Het is een nieuwsgierige afstemming waar elke ‘penseelstreek’ de volgende dicteert.

Voor mij was "The Artist's Way" van Julia Cameron een boek dat jaren geleden diep in mijn ziel resoneerde. Het is een bewezen methode om je creatieve grenzen te verleggen, om het leven en de vele uitdagingen die het met zich meebrengt te omarmen, en om jezelf en anderen met compassie tegemoet te treden. Dit is geen gewoon boek, het is een queeste die je naar je diepste verlangens, expressieve mogelijkheden, nieuwe energie en een diep vertrouwen in jezelf en het leven brengt.
"The Artist's Way" is een manier van leven die mij als therapeut en kunstenaar inspireert en motiveert om voorbij ‘het moeilijke’ te kijken. Ik geef me over aan het nog-niet-weten en sta open voor wat er mag komen. In deze fase van nog-niet-weten is geduld, vertrouwen en het vermogen om te wachten essentieel. Het is een tijd waarin ogenschijnlijk niets gebeurt, een incubatietijd in het donker, vergelijkbaar met zaadjes die in de aarde rusten totdat ze in de lente ontkiemen. Ik heb gemerkt dat wanneer ik op zoek ga naar een oplossing, ik vaak gefixeerd ben op 'het probleem' en reageer vanuit mijn hoofd met mogelijke denkpistes. Ik geef echter de voorkeur aan het zien van obstakels, problemen, emoties of crisis als kansen voor verandering. Ik trek me terug in de schaduw, vaak in stilte en alleen-zijn en exploreer deze moeilijkere fases, wetende dat ze kansen zijn voor vernieuwing. Ik verken de diepten en geef me meer in balans over aan het dromende en scheppende leven dat vele zorgen 'oplost'. Maar altijd blijft die droom aanwezig, zelfs in het donker.
Heb jij ook een droom die je koestert? Voel je dat er meer is, dat er onbetrede paden op je wachten? Ben je bereid om op een innerlijke reis te gaan, waar creativiteit en spiritualiteit elkaar ontmoeten? Voel je het verlangen om je hartfrequentie steeds beter te horen, om te luisteren naar wat er in jou leeft en om los te laten wat niet meer bij je hoort?
Laten we samen creëren, een nieuwe realiteit, trouw aan de soms 'verstilde' verlangens en dromen. Doe mee en ontdek wat het voor jou kan betekenen!

When stranded on an uncharted underwater planet, alone and surrounded by hostile lifeforms, there are only two possible outcomes: adapt and survive, or die trying.
Spoilers: For the game Subnautica

Vincent watches a shadow slowly float across the safe shallows. Doesn’t have to look up to know who it belongs to.
That’s the benefit for having known someone for so long, to be so familiar with their habits he never has to think twice about what or why they do certain things.
The problem is that knowing about those small things now feel like they were only distractions, and there’s a possibility he never knew them at all.
...or maybe he’s just in an arcane mood.
Vincent forces himself to tilt his head to see Mike floating on his back on the surface of the water. A method they came up with to ensure the human turned leviathan can breathe without exerting himself when he visited. One currently being used to stay close instead of having to swim the long distance to the island.
The island Mike refused to leave but couldn’t explain why. Vincent knew why, though. At least, he thought he did.
Deciding to think about it later, he turns back to the window before him, watching Scott read information from the scans of both him and Mike. So far, the human hasn’t been able to tell them anything new. Though that might’ve been because Fritz was more distracting than helpful until David demanded attention, and with Jeremy deciding to leave to join Mike the man was finally left in silence. Which meant Vincent also was, no longer having anything to entertain him.
“I can’t concentrate when you’re staring at me,” Scott grumbles.
“And how can you tell I’m staring?”
Vincent grins at the scowl his question earns. “It’s hard to ignore the feeling of eyes on you when there’s twelve of them.”
“Did you finally count them all?” he rumbles, admittedly finding the thought of the human taking the time to do something like that quite amusing. Especially to use it during an argument.
“I could only ever see six at a time with your hair always covering them,” Scott says as he holds up the tablet in his hand. “The scan told me what I missed.”
“That sounds like cheating.”
“You let us scan you,” Scott comments, slightly distracted as he continues to read.
But it’s true, Vincent did let them. And to be honest, he isn’t entirely sure why. Maybe it’s because everyone except David was scanned one. Maybe it was the moment the three humans realized they were infected. Saw the genuine fear of what might happen if the disease isn’t cured and didn’t want to take away their only hope.
What made it worse is that Mike didn’t have a complete answer to that particular question. But the fact he is what he is was the only thing needed for them to understand what’s waiting.
“I think I finally figured out what you were injected with and why,” Scott announces as he taps on the screen. Not a good sign the man seems to be perplexed, not a bad sign there’s no traces of fear. “To put it in ‘laments’ terms, your ‘genetic’ code has been changed . It looks like it was supposed to force you to produce certain ‘enzymes’, maybe just alter the amount your body naturally has, but instead it just changed your appearance.”
Vincent stares for a moment as the information slowly processes. Can’t describe the feeling rising up, one that’s part bewilderment and part revulsion. “I was supposed to be the cure.”
“Basically. It didn’t work, which leads me to believe that’s why Mike was altered the way he was. If there wasn’t an ‘enzyme’ to cure it, then making someone infected into a leviathan might delay it if not completely cure them. That did work, but at the cost of his memory, still needing to breathe with his lungs, and having to live the rest of his life like that.”
There are worst ways to go. What Vincent wants to know is if Mike had been chosen at random to be a human test subject for these experiments, or if it had been done out of desperation.
He hates to admit he hasn’t once stopped thinking about the ‘we’ comment.
“What’s on your mind?” Scott asks innocently. Doesn’t realize the severity of such a question. Can’t even begin to comprehend just how close Vincent is to shattering.
He can ignore the question. Snap and tell the human to mind his own business. Ask something snarky back to change the subject. Do anything except face something that very well may break him.
“Who is he,” Vincent whispers. Feels something inside him begin to writhe for daring to second guess Mike. Firmly shoves it away so he's left alone with nothing but his troubling thoughts.
He can see William clearly in his mind. Can almost reach out and grab the monster who tortured him, who never once looked at him as he begged, treated Vincent like he was nothing except for a plaything. Can see the man working long and grueling hours to build something. Carefully adding pieces and injecting chemicals into someone lying still in a tank. Fondly ruffled black hair just like his own as wires were attached.
That wasn’t the affection something only being used as a means to an end receives. That was never something Vincent or any other leviathan could expect to be given even if the unknown desire of their suffering was met.
“Does it matter?” rips him away. Puts him back in the present. Where a familiar shadow continues to drift across the seafloor.
“Does what matter?” the ghost demands. Wants to be left alone to suffer in peace. Finally face the truth he’s been ignoring for far too long.
“Who he is,” Scott says, meeting Vincent’s glower with a thoughtful look. “Does it matter?”
If David asked him that, it would’ve been with an angry tone, a demand that such a question needs a good reason to ask. If it was Fritz, it would’ve been out of curiosity, though he most likely never would’ve thought to say something like that. But Scott’s wanting a genuine response, treating it as a rhetorical question, willing to let there be a yes or no without judgement.
But Vincent doesn’t know the answer.
Because when he looks at Mike, he sees the guppy he raised. The miniscule form that needed to be protected from something as small as a crashfish to something as vicious as a stalker. A fellow experiment who had been thrown into the ocean once he was completely built with the hope he’d survive.
There was no obligation for him to keep the modified human safe. Just because he watched the entire process and saw everything that was done doesn’t make Vincent responsible for making sure a leviathan didn’t eat the tiny thing. He was allowed to be curious, the want to know why such a thing was created should’ve been the only reason he contemplated watching over Mike.
But that wasn’t why he immediately accepted role of protector. He never so much as thought of asking what or why. He just did. Because Mike was an experiment. Endured everything Vincent had and more.
What if that Mike, the one he protected until it became clear he’d grow to the size of a proper leviathan, the one who treats him like a brother, visits from time to time because he misses Vincent and would come at a moments notice if the ghost ever needed anything, what if that Mike also helped in trying to make him into a cure.
What if that Mike is the reason he was trapped and tortured. What if that Mike would’ve been the person to inject him if given the chance. What if that Mike heard his pleas and never once tried to help even though he could.
Would he ever be able to forgive? Would he ever be able to forget? Would he never want anything to do with Mike ever again?
Vincent didn’t think the thought of no longer having Mike by his side would physically hurt. Yet here he is, the very idea of telling a certain modified human the ghost wants nothing to do with him an unbearable one. Even with the thought Vincent’s pain can all be blamed on Mike.
When did he become as soft as David?
“Any clues where to find a cure other than becoming a leviathan?” Vincent asks. Pointedly ignores Scott’s knowing smile. If the man isn’t careful he’ll start acting like David until it’s hard to tell the two apart.
“No. But, I can bet the key to figuring it out is on the island. Inside the giant glowing structure to be specific.”
“How much?”
Scott hesitates. “On if the answers somewhere on the island?”
“Just curious,” Vincent smiles as he waves a hand. “You said you’d bet, so how much? Or do you want to put your foot where your mouth is.”

The silence tells him all he needs to know. He wonders what would happen if he told Mike what Scott thought about him being Vincent’s teacher for speaking human. Which, speaking of, there’s a few things David needs to learn that Fritz hasn’t taught him.
“Is there something we should know?”
He looks down at Scott. Knows exactly what the man is asking. “The only thing I’d be worry about is whatever it means to be a warper."
“You think he’d kill us once we reach a certain level of infection?”
Vincent shakes his head. “Oh no, even if it’s literally built into him, Mike couldn’t do it. You should be worried about him never letting you go, though."

My hot take on The Joker's psyche
Disclaimer that I'm not a licensed psychology professional. I'm just here cooking up some character studies at three a.m for a fic I'm working on. So I'm not trying to diagnose anyone or teach anyone about mental illness. I'm trying to cook up a different plot for the Joker as a character for a specific story. So don't come at me, my sources are shit my dude I have no idea what I'm doing, I'm just trying to dig a new plot :)
So we all heard about the long list of Joker´s mental illnesses. And both the canon characters and readers have theorized whether Joker has any illnesses at all. And well here´s what I´ve gathered so far.(We will be ignoring Joker the movie ´cause that movie is so stereotypical it could have been any other villain from batman, literally two face would have been more approppriate for that movie.)
Most people when they think of the joker they describe him as a "psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy," As Heath Ledger said when he took the role. I think these are the most traits associated with him. One thing that leads me astray from these is the study of other known serial killers. Usually we hear people in documentaries about serial killers say "We never expected that from them" or "No one saw this coming". And thats probably because psychopaths and sociopaths are great at emulating normalcy. It's not that they're faking because they don't want to get caught since most serial killers have taken tokens of their crimes home and others left multiple clues to toy with police enforcement. But the thing about "crazy" people who commit crimes is that they don't know they are "crazy". There is no instance in which a crazy person will admit to their crimes justifying insanity by themselves, thats usually the psychiatrist's call or the defense team. But Joker seems to wear that label with pride. Multiple times annoucing his crazy status.
Personally I think these psychiatric traits fit Batman a lot more. He does have multiple memorabilia of the crimes he fought and enemies he defeated in the cave. He is also able to emulate normalcy in the guise of Bruce Wayne. And it is confirmed canonically that the only thing stopping Batman from being a serial killer is his "code" to never kill. Besides there has been studies that 1 out of 5 CEOs are psychopaths, along the study that psychopathy is heavily linked to genetics and as we can see in Flashpoint paradox both of Bruce's parents have dispositions for mental illness. But this is not about him.
But why would joker fake illnesses? I don't think he really fakes them. I think he is misdiagnosed. I think some PTSD traits were misdiagnosed for psychosis, since most of his visions whenever we get Joker POVs are centered around one singular event, and instead of DID I believe is more likely for Joker to suffer from dissociations such as dissociative amnesia from time to time also centered around traumas, usually key events to his origin story depending on the Joker. When it comes to being criminally insane, I highly doubt that Joker doesn't know how to discern right from wrong. I think maybe the answer as to why can be as simple as he doesn't want to be sent to Blackgate since Arkham is cannonicaly easier to escape or it can be as complicated as having suffered so much Dissociative Amnesia(which some episodes can last months or years, given that that's a rare accurance) that Joker doesn't know what he is or how to behave and simply acts out how the doctors have diagnosed him to. I'm not even going to cover his obsession with Batman because thats a whole other character study but I started cooking this up years ago when I read The Killing Joke and Joker suggests with his final joke that Batman is just as crazy as he is yet he gets away with it, and theres a strange sense of resentment and feeling left out on Joker's part.

Ok now is a good time too talk about this, originally I wasn't sure if the Omnitrix could scan Duel Spirits. I was not sure because initially I was thinking there Spirits and don't have traditional DNA too absorb but than there are of course other things such as the DNA Surgery or Transplant Card as mentioned and other Monsters which do honestly seem like they have DNA. So I wasn't sure if it was a yes or no.
It was hard too tell but just because it be funny and kind of cool why not. Duel Spirit do have viable DNA for the Omnitrix too scan.
Also you just gave me the idea after the Omnitrix is taken out of the capsule it immediately scans all nearby DNA samples and continues too do so. Of course no one knows what this means and just continues on. Meanwhile Azmuth is just getting bombarded with DNA Sample notifications from Primus and he is just so confused.
Than he finds that the Second Omnitrix Signal has reconnected itself too Primus and on the move.
Also I think he would be interested that despite taking in all this new DNA and being on the move, the Omnitrix has not been activated once.
Strange and a mystery Azmuth is going too solve when he finds the Omnitrix
Duel Spirits do indeed have their own genetic code but they all have a unique interference. There's a reason why Albedo heavily edited the second Omnitrix. None of the transformations were available as the strange wavelength from the peculiar samples put the watch on a calibration status.
He pretty much had to remove all the Duel Spirit scans just to make the stolen Omnitrix usable again. Azmuth saw this peculiar interference as a very interesting challenge though. The Galvan didn't expect Earth to have an entirely hidden ecosystem tied to it.
Well until he ends up meeting Ash's group once Ben's team takes them to a safe location the inventor could teleport to. Azmuth pretty much pieced together that some of the duelist's family were responsible for a few new samples. You can bet he was curious to learn about a race who uses different visuals like cards to serve different needs.
The inventor takes the blank card Ash offers when he explains the Omnitrix's purpose. Something that turns out to be a key piece to making Duel Spirit DNA usable. Azmuth will implement the upgrade to Ben's watch later.
For now, he has tons of samples to study and a book on Spirit Wells to read.
