The animals have always introduced me to the most amazing people. This weekend we met some new friends while out riding then a few stopped by the farm for Sniff Spot and Cow Cuddles. We learned of a great local pizza shop and had our best ride yet going a full two miles. I forgot to turn the tracker on but we stopped and started at the trailer parking. So proud of myself. I did 5 workouts last week. First time in, I don't know how many months I've done that.
This week starting off strong by picking a Cathe workout, I did the upper body part and then did a 15 min walk on the treadmill to get my steps up a bit higher

Nearly half??
The other day I was stumbling along the internet when I came across an article featuring an alarming title. Nearly HALF of the individuals in my age bracket have a chronic health issue of one form or another!
As I took a closer look at the various conditions I realized MOST of the afflictions are positively affected by regular exercise! There was an important comparison between the cost of addressing the health issues NOW with exercise and healthy lifestyle, versus the increased health care costs in the future.
What struck me was not only the dollar figure but also the impact to quality of life that besets itself upon someone going through these perils. It totally bites! As a former ‘person of poor health and increased body mass index’ I know, you literally couldn’t pay me to return to the utter hell of the past lifestyle where I was 100 pounds overweight and hating life. I also know several ways people can help themselves if they may be feeling the same.
effthatdiet.com has some REALLY valuable info and tools for free (if hiring a fitness / health coach is out of the question) and there’s always social media, where you can find unlimited ‘lets be active’ pics, posts, gifs and what’s-it’s to prompt a shift in lifestyle. Just as long as you steer clear of the evils trying to take your money for some ‘get-there quick’ scheme.
In conclusion, movement to avoid chronic illness disparities is an awesome idea, and there are all sorts of rewards. From looking better naked, to seeing some really incredible parts of the world. Good time to get moving!

Slower than usual
The next part of the book is coming along slower than usual. I went through a bad mental-health go around this month. For those who didn’t know, I’m transgender, so lots of body dysphoria on top of the body dysmorphia thoughts I have. Definitely not fun stuff.
However, I’ve taken it upon myself to start working out and calorie counting with the help of an app. I’m definitely not the most out of shape individual, but I’m also definitely not the most lean or muscular person either. I’m hoping to change that second part over the next couple of months. Hopefully the workouts and healthier diet will help me with the mental health side of things at least a little.
To help me do this, one of my friends showed me a really helpful Instagram user called leanbeefpatty, and seeing her stuff is just super inspirational (and for anyone wondering what Harper/Carter’s body type is, it’s probably something close to hers). So yeah, highly recommend checking out her insta page if anyone is interested in getting fit.
But, for now, all I can do is quote the infamous Bo Burnham.
“So today I’ll try just / Getting up, sitting down, going back to work / Might not help but still it couldn’t hurt”
