maybe i should just quit?

#i really wanted to do better than just scrape a pass but that ship has sailed #i think at best i might be able to pass the resits but i really don't think much more than that is possible #and that's only if i change tactics now #otherwise i'm pretty sure i won't even be able to pass these two exams...#so yeah #i'm feeling like a failure #but #i guess the best approach is to redefine what i count as success #so here's my new definition: success is if i keep studying towards these exams and show up to take them #that's it #that's the bar to success #giving them a go #and i can deal with the rest once that's done #physics #studying #studyblr #university

#polls #tumblr polls #For me I think the top ones would be the House. The Money. or the Friend Group. But I ultimately might would go for the house #JUST becuase it would be my Dream House which means it would already meet mostly all of my specifications #and what I might be looking for. which would save a lot of time searching or customizing/rennovating.#Also because I could use that as a way to leave the US lol.. like .. if I get to choose my dream location.. couldnt I just choose some othe #country?? But I wonder how that works. Can you legally 100% have full ownership of a property in a country yet not be a citizen of that #country?? Would you show up and be like 'erm.. i own this house.. so i shall now live in it' and theyd be like 'uh no. you cant live here #despite owning the house. leave.' ??#So I think the initial process of 1. scraping together funds to actually MOVE myself and my most valuable belongings physically #TO another country. and 2. figuring out how to STAY in that country . might end up being difficult.. BUT. if I could just work that #part of things out then.. dream house?? security for once in my life?? stability?? :0 #Though the $1mil is enticing it's also like.. I feel .. with the way housing prices are now... that's not much???#it's a lot I guess if you plan on like.. investing half the money and staying in an apartment for 5 years while you grow your wealth #or something. but if you're a 'I Need Stability NOW' ready to settle down person who would be most interested in owning a property rather #than nice clothes or a car or whatever other investments you could make then.. eh..?? It seems like unless you're okay with living in #a small town or kind of far away from the city - even some SMALL houses in majorly populated areas in the US will be like #$600.000 - $900.000 or something. like that would be MOST of my money. Which I know you could just pay partially and make #payments on it but idk.. in the option of just outright owning the house it seems like it'd end up being cheaper.#Plus I would want to own it fully asap because I'd be afraid of losing it somehow otherwise. like it being taken for medical bills or #something. which I thought was supposed to be - not IMPOSSIBLE - slightly more complicated legally if you actually have #paid off the house in full. I guess the issue then would be utilities and property tax and such. But I feel like thats overcome-able??#Like I could just stipulate that my Dream House has a little furnished addition or something and then find someone #with money and be like 'Look you can live in this extremely nice area with amazing ameneties and updated everything and ALL you have #to do is give me money to cover the utilities and property tax.'' or something like that. Like the little furnished addition is nicer #than the actual house. they have their own pool and spa and movie room or something and Ill also cook all their meals for them #or whatever (how luxurious it would be depeneds on how high the property tax actually is/how much I would need to entice them into #why it's a good deal for them to pay it for me lol). idk... something like that.. ANYWAY #I asked a few people I know though and one of them answered they'd rather have a romantic partner. the other one said they'd like #to be able to choose someone to die lol.. So I'm curious what people value the most

also the 9-5 workday just does not work well in hot climates and i think it exacerbates these problems by concentrating the most activity to the hottest part of the day. the old approach of waking up early to labour before the sun is hottest, resting during the hottest hours of the day, and finishing your activities once the sun begins to set and into the evening makes a lot more sense and i think it would consume less energy overall and prevent illness in working people, children, elderly, and other vulnerable people due to heat exposure. people structured their days like this for a reason, prior to the widespread adoption of air conditioning, and even in a world with air con it just makes more sense esp as already hot climates get hotter and those who face the greatest consequences have the least protection from the heat

#the midday cold quick mandi and nap is going to have to be implemented in more places around the world #restructuring the hours of the workday around the hottest part of the day going to become a greater issue for workers worldwide #is going to*#its something that will need to be fought for as it becomes physically impossible to function during midday #which is already happening in some parts of the world #i feel like this approach works even in industrial settings like it would cost less energy and resources #in that setting as well like it would lessen strain to people and to the power grid by not running them during the hottest hours #and give workers more time to rest

I've always kept my bookmarks private, not because I'm embarrassed or I'm putting negative comments in them or anything, just because if I have the option to keep extra information about my habits hidden on an account that anyone could find I will almost always take it

However I've seen some people say that not having public bookmarks is "suspicious" or "not respecting the culture of ao3". So I'm curious to hear people's thoughts on this and see how many people are in the same boat as me lol

No shade to OP as a person but believe me, this is a sign that something is DEEPLY fucking broken. Like they announced ONE new IP out of like eight films. I genuinely think within the decade they're just gonna stop making original films all together. That's what they learned from Elemental and Wish, just don't make anything new if you can help it.

Like they've unironically turned into what people pretend Dreamworks is, a sequel mill. The real downside is that Dreamworks actually knows how to make a good sequel, Disney never really figured that one out, bar a couple of outliers, and I have no faith in them pulling any of these off. Absolutely soul-crushingly pathetic. Thank god other animation studios exist.
