(Also side note; Rings in my AU/rewrite are called Circles)

Glitz and Glam redesign

They both have 2000s fashion taste instead of clowns.

Would give off Mean girls vibes.

Both of them snitch each other every time when they get into a situation.

Their designs are based on their concept art and personality inspo is The Dee dee twins from Batman Beyond,Panty and stocking and the Britski Twins from LPS.

Blue is more suitable than green.

I had sm fun with carmilla, cuz i thought her canon design was insanely stiff, and i wanted to liven her up a little bit

I wanted to make verosika and succubi in general look more demonic in general, and differentiate them from imps a little bit more

I didn’t really change glitz and glam all that much cuz their canon designs weren’t all that bad in the first place, so I just made them look a bit more fish-like and less impish

So…. Glitz and Glam huh… y’know what that means my fellow artists and critics…

REDESIGN TIME!!!! + (A bit of critics/opinions on the characters and the og design :-] )

To start it out a lil’ positive, If I gotta be honest I actually kinda liked these two characters from the mid-season special, even though they were just the bitchy woman character your supposed to hate (as if we needed any more of those characters than we already got viv), they were still really fun as characters in my opinion!

I feel like bitchy esc kind of character very much works for these two coupled with them being very competitive towards fizz in the episode, I feel like those two things were like the bread and butter for these characters and if I wanna be honest… I kinda wanna see these two again but wouldn’t be surprised if that didn’t happened bc c’mon this helluva boss we’re talking about after all!

The only thing I would have to say negatively about these two is that they literally got crushed by a rock in the end, like I get it viv hates writing characters who are woman but COME ONNN, you had these two characters that seem really interesting and the only climax you could’a think for them in the ep was to crush them with a rock? That’s literally lame.

But other than that, I think overall these characters were alright! At least writing wise….

Now for the redesign + critic thing on the og designs

I decided to change her outfit bc although I loved the character’s personality, the outfit viv gave them not fit them at all. The jester esc outfit personally I think doesn’t really work for these two because 1. The jester theme Fizzarolli’s thing and 2. It doesn’t really work well with their personality, the song they sang in my opinion shows that.

So I thought I’d base their outfits off of the bratz outfits and also any outfits similar to that, to try to fit their characters more!

That and I’m just getting real sick and tired of the jester/clown theming that’s going on in hb because oh my god it feels so out of place, especially with the theme of greed ring being a trashy polluted city. And even if, EVEN IF viv wanted to give them clown esc themed outfits, I feel like it would’ve made more sense if she gave them outfit that were similar to mimes because technically those guys are like elegant clowns! While jesters aren’t even the same as clowns at all.

I also kept the green ish’ tones while also giving them a bit off red and purple colors to compliment the identical twin duo thing they have going on! Because like… do I even have to say why I did it? Their colors are literally just black and the same exact hues of green, it was literally hard to focus on them when watching the episode because of much they blended in with the background.

I also took inspiration from this fish when designing them because from as far as I can tell (and do correct if I’m wrong), they’re supposed to be fish demons??? So I tried to add more fish motifs for them!

I also made them half succubus from the horns looking similar to that and also because I thought it’d be fitting for them!

I also made their hair look like fish fins because oh my god their hair in the canon design was probably the worst part about their designs, not only did it have too many details that it was too distracting when I was trying to pay attention to the characters but also I just trying to figure out how the hair works in general, because it honestly their hair kinda looked like paper instead of fish fins or even actual hair.

But other than that uhh…

TLDR: I love these guys sm, they deserved much better and uhhh I love women /hj

Current ideas for my re-writes of the Hazbin Hotel cast:

Charlie - grownass adult. More background in civil service. Brought her imp servants from the castle to help at the hotel (they like her well enough)

Vaggie - in the air. Might make her an angelic terminator character that gets recruited after failing her mission. Idk.

Alastor - overhauled into a whole new character - Adonis Crowley. Same role at the Hotel, but is more gentlemanly and seems genuinely invested in the success of the hotel, but his motivations remain unknown.

Sir P - does not join at first. Reoccurring useless antagonist.

Angel - employee (Bellhop) who is invited to utilize hotel services. Ptsd from the War.

Cherri/Rosie - fused into one character that I'm calling Roxanne. Overlord who owns a popular bar. Employs Mimzy.

Mimzy - works for Roxanne. Died before Adonis in the late 20s. Adonis is trying to recruit her for the hotel (he misses her 😿)

Husk - man of few words. Resigned to his fate. Draft dodger. Grumpy old cat grandpa.

Niffty - Adonis's little helper/spy. Will do anything for him, despite him not owning her soul. She does Not pass the Bechdel test.

Baxter - #1 fucked up little science man and negative Nancy. Transmasc

Vox - ambassador of Sloth for the Greed ring. Has a bunch of complicated relationships. His brain is in a jar.

Val - movie producer. Idk if I want to do the porn studio thing.

Vel - manipulates things behind the scenes #girlboss

Glitz & Glam - sinners that take Angel's original role as Famous Performers, only Glitz comes to the hotel and Glam wants to stay in showbiz. Their dynamic is similar to Angel and Cherri in canon, only closer as they are twin sisters. Drama ensues.

HECK YEAH!! INKTOBER!

In order to motivate force myself into drawing more, I decided to take on INKTOBER this year. Though I am not following any prompt lists just so I have some freedom to draw.

For the first drawing, I decided to go with my redesigns I made of Glitz and Glam from Helluva Boss I made a while back but never posted until now. I mostly use Salem’s original designs for them as well as other redesigns other artists have made. I leaned towards a more burlesque vibe with them, making them the kind of performers that would flirt with you and pie you in the face, sometimes in that order.

Slightly redesigned versions of the girls, + some vague oc additions haha :) more under the cut

I wanted to make them look a little more alternative and k-pop inspired (and their hair less of a pain to draw) as well as making them a bit more individual from each other while still sticking to the mirror thing, because I found it hard to tell them apart at times. I love these two so much and I feel like they have so much potential!

Featuring my oc Callie in a little advertisement, as well as a note from my character Darya who works in the greed ring and manages these two (as best as she can)

I had a two thing I want to say about Raya and the Twins Glitz and Glam. What would be Their Interaction Head canons as far as their relationship goes? I would Imagine the twins arguing every now and again over what they decide to do for their dates with Raya. and One bonus question and this may be a crazy one. But how do you think it would Play out if Glitz and Glam from your AU met with Canon! Glitz and Glam? I would imagine the Canon! Twins dissing the AU Twins Partner leading to insults and possibly injury.

"Don't End Up Like Me"

Warnings: Drug use mention

Relationships: (platonic) Angel & Glitz, (familial) Glitz & Glam

(In this AU, Angel isnt a porn star. Rather, he's a WW2 vet with PTSD who works as Val's muscle on an Infernal Hollywood film set. Glitz & Glam are sinners, but may start drifting apart...)

Summary:

Glitz and Glam are rising stars in the industry, and are shooting a TV show for the Vox Network. In this scene, the studio is taking a set break, and Glitz has taken Angel aside to seek a connection beyond her sister Glam, but is surprised when she is left with more questions.

At the Film Studio in Lust Ring’s Purgatory

“...Don’t tell anyone else about this, alright? They won’t understand.” Angel looked at the fish sinner with pleading eyes.

Glitz played with her hair, embarrassed.

“Don’t worry, I won’t. I’m… sorry I came on too strong.”

Angel waved away her apology.

“It’s fine. I get it a lot. I usually just… put up with it. Not everyone’s as accepting of this sort of thing.” He looked away to hide the pain in his face.

There was an awkward pause for a moment. Glitz tried breaking the silence, leaning back on her rehearsal room seat across from the studio body guard, trying to look casual.

“So… guys, huh?”

Angel let out a stifled laugh, his muscles relaxing from the tension he hadn’t realized had been there. “Yeah, guys.”

“Soooo…. Anyone at the studio?”

“Hell, no!” He barked out a laugh. “I keep my work life and personal life separate.”

Glitz shot him a playful smile.

“Okay rockstar, what about outside of work? Anybodyyyy Handsome?”

Angel let out a short chuckle wearily, averting his gaze.

“No. Not seein’ anyone right now.” He said, trailing off.

Oof..

Glitz had been hoping they could bond over their shared love of boys, but now it felt like a sore spot. She stood up and pretended to stretch.

Is it pretending when you’re actually doing it? Whatever.

“Wwwhat do you do outside of work then?” Glitz pried, aching for a connection with someone other than her sister.

Angel hesitated.

Was that too far? She wondered.

Angel rose from his seat to imitate her, stretching one set of arms behind him and the other set in front of him.

“Oohh, y’know, side-gigs to get out of the studio. There’s nothing in my contract that says I can’t have other jobs.”

Glitz’s heart winced, remembering that not everyone had the luxury to come to the studio willingly. She stole a glance at his left eye… the sclera pitch black, a physical reminder of his deal with The Director. Most of the stage crew had black scleras like that, but Angel only had one. She’d been itching to know the significance of it, and now was her chance.

“...Is that why only one of your eyes are black?”

Angel paused mid-stretch, and let his arms drop to his sides, his shoulders slumping like they had deflated.

“...Yeah.”

He said, quietly.

Glitz was playing with her fingers, now. Ugh, these nervous ticks! She had to know, but she didn’t know how far she could push him without him shutting her out.

“...Can I ask you about that?”

Angel was silent.

Glitz pushed further.

“I keep hearing about ‘deals’ and I see people with black eyes everywhere, but I don’t know how they work, exactly…”

Angel sighed and met her gaze. This girl had hardly made it to 20 when she died. She was so young… so innocent… She was the nicest person on set. So why? He had to ask.

“Why are you here, Glitz?” This kid was so different from everyone else.

“What did you do, to end up here, in Hell? You’re a nice girl, Glitz.” Angel’s top right palm held open toward her, while his bottom pair of hands clasped together in supplication.

Glitz was taken aback by this. No one had asked her that yet. Not even herself.

“I… I did a lot of drugs.”

“...And?”

“And… I OD’d. We both did. It was at a party.” Angel and Glitz were both silent for a moment.

“...Oh, Glitz…” Angel sighed, running a hand through his hair.

That was something they shared in common. He thought.

Glitz didn’t want pity. Especially from someone she wanted to be her friend.

“...It wasn’t just the drugs.” Glitz said with a rasp in her tone.

“ We did everything together. Glam was always in the lead, and I followed. I was there to support her. We supported each other. Who was I to say no? So…”

“...You were complicit.” Angel finished her sentence.

“Yeah.” Glitz lifted her head, realizing she had been staring at the rehearsal room floor.

“Yeah, I was… And now I’m paying for it.”

The silence after that was only broken by a stage tech knocking on the door.

“You’re on at five.”

Glitz jumped a little. She had almost forgotten where they were. Having a meaningful conversation with someone besides Glam, it almost took Glitz out of orbit.

“Shit!” Angel spat, a hand running through his hair as he realized the time. Was that a tick of his own? Glitz thought in passing.

Angel turned to Glitz and grabbed her shoulders as gently and firmly as he could without hurting the young star, steadying himself as he bent at the knee to look her in the eye. He had to be fast.

“We don’t have much time, but you seem like a good kid. You made some bad choices but from what I’ve seen here and on set, you don’t let them define you.”

The Director’s voice interrupted, echoing through speakers in the room.

“Places, everyone! We’re here to make Magic Happen!”

Angel's eyes grew more intense at the sound of The Director’s voice.

“Whatever you do, do NOT make a deal with Him. The Director. Or anyone, for that matter. No matter what he gives you, no matter what he promises, or tells you-”

“Five!”

“If your sister strikes a deal with him, no matter what happens, do NOT go down that road with her. No matter what they tell you. There’s no coming back from a deal. Once you’ve sold your soul-”

“Four!”

“-You’re stuck here for good. No second chances.”

“Angel, I-”

“Three!”

“Just promise me! Promise me you won’t sell your soul!”

“I-”

“Two!”

Glitz could feel her heart beat in the back of her throat.

“I promise!”

Angel released her shoulders with a sigh of relief and turned away to scribble something on a piece of paper he’d had in his pocket. He pressed the paper into her hands and gave her a desperate look. She knew that look, from That Day. It was a look that said,

Don’t end up like Me.

She closed the paper in the palm of her fist, a flutter in her heart at the thought of someone besides Glitz caring what happens to her…

He’s looking out for me…

“One!”

With a few determined strides, Angel was already at the door of the rehearsal room, lower left hand on the handle.

“Meet me there. After work. I know someone who can help.”

Angel’s voice had an urgent, pleading edge to it that she’d never heard before. Glam always told her to trust no one but each other… But Glitz trusted Angel. Their eyes locked for a second, and Glitz gave him a tight nod. The corners of his mouth turned up to another one of those rare smiles that she’d never seen on set. And in a blink, he was out the door.

Glitz felt a warmth in her heart as she realized she had the paper clutched to her chest. She stole a glance down at it, but before she could read out what it said, she heard The Director yelling ‘Places!’ through the door. She stowed it away in her wallet for safe-keeping. Glitz might still own her soul, but she did not want to test The Director’s patience.

oh wow some of redesigns are actully pretty neat and i can actully tell who is suppose to be who unlike most of the redesigns.

even if bee is probably the lest interesting (like atleast have some dog bits, she's the one in charge of hell hounds come on, your just leaving that on the table? there's nothing making her look more dog like.).

the twins redesigns kinda miss the point of them, there suppose to lean hard into sex appeal and clowns.

there's also a lack of a unifying them with this 7DS designs like in the show with the circus themes (lulu being the ring leader, bee being the animal act, satan is the strong man, so on so forth).

mammon is...really kinda drab looking. his suppose to be an attention grabbing clown, he needs more colors.

you just made two of the Vs fat, kind eh.
