How do you make, not only long comics, but also VERY FAST. Like- I read one part that has 2/3 like pictures and then next day are again 2 or 3 and I'm like grabing my head and just screaming HOW??? (Also these comics are very yummy and I feel like getting stabbed after each one but in a good way cuz I like being stabbed (Kallamar got a bit too relatable in that one comic 💔))

HAHAHA OH GOD I DID NOT THINK I WAS VERY FAST BUT- I'll try to do a list of tips I thought of off the top of my head, in case any of these help you or anyone else??? I try to not gatekeep anything I do because I think the world needs more comics honestly, so I tend to ramble a lot when giving advice.

Okay these tips aren't 100% about being fast but also being efficient/keeping a good pace, I hope that's okay!

1: Originally the first tip was "draw every day even if only a little bit, so you don't lose steam" but I'm sure everyone has said that at some point. So I'll just say I Pavlov myself into drawing better by having little "rituals". Liiike...the only time I have energy drinks is when I draw. Or the only time I light candles is when I draw. I have specific songs I put on when I START drawing to get me into the Zone. I find that when certain circumstances are met, it helps the time fly by 'cause I stay focused enough to keep a steady pace. After a while of doing those things when you start drawing for the day, it tricks the brain into going "oh shit, we're drawing now? aight bet" and then you just. Go

2: SETTING DEADLINES FOR SURE HELPS. It's definitely nice hearing from people that there's no Real Pressure on me when I post comics...for free...of characters I have no obligation to draw...just for the enjoyment of doing it. BUT I work best when I have a fire lit under my ass, so I set deadlines like "I need to post this on saturday/sunday at noon so the algorithm will actually let people read this comic". I usually slip those into a description so it's a very casual announcement and I feel okay with postponing it if necessary, rather than making a text post like "NEW COMIC SATURDAY!!1" and then feeling terrible if I can't finish it in time. Lmao

3: I just fuckin GO when I make a draft. Like for this new comic I'm working on, I just sat down and started drawing like the world was gonna end; there's a lot of panels with very off model characters/wonky anatomy because I just wanted to sketch enough for future me to get the idea. I try not to look back on my progress for any reason besides continuity, because then I see how long the comic's getting and I sweat bullets. Literally so many comics have been ditched because I got spooked thinking about how hard it'd be to finish them. So if you just shut your brain off and don't think about the technicalities of it, just keeping mind the story you want to tell- it's SO much easier to complete. Breaking comics into parts is ABSOLUTELY necessary for completion :')

4: Maybe the most important piece of advice I learned from a published comic artist, is that people are gonna look at your comic panels for an average of like 10-20 seconds and will move on to the next. You don't wanna spend hours on a single panel that basically only exists to convey a tiny bit of the plot. So I like to draw just *enough* to convey the general environment/mood, but not feel obliged to put in a million little extra details. I really hate doing backgrounds but my art, to me, feels incomplete without them. So I'll add like PART of a room or a general Nature area just to say hey, this takes place in the temple/outside/whatever! As long as your story is engaging and the pacing is comfortable, I don't think people will mind (or notice) if you take shortcuts.

5: I listen to specific things to help maintain a good speed while not being distracting or understimulating. During the sketch stage, I usually have something slow/instrumental going so I can focus on the little movie that plays in my head and draw what I feel like a scene would look like. It also helps not distract me from what they're saying. For tasks like lining/coming up with color schemes/reworking dialogue, I have something more stimulating playing but not like distracting, so a video essay I've already watched or fast music I already heard a lot of times. THEN for the absolute fucking slog that is the coloring stage, I blast shitty breakcore or put on an actually interesting video so I can zone out while I click my mouse ten billion times to fill in all the colors >:)

Basically, comics are funny to me because it's like a frantic fucking race to the finish line before your motivation completely abandons you. There's been a few comics where I was ABSOLUTELY sick of even looking at them, I think it was specifically "in little ways, everything stays" where the comic itself is sweet and inoffensive but OMFG. I WAS SO TIRED OF DRAWING GRASS AND REWORKING DIALOGUE. KALLAMAR AND LESHY JUST HUG IT OUT ALREADY SO I CAN STOP DRAWING.

This post probably reads like "I HATE COMICS!! I HALF ASS THEM TO GET THROUGH!!" but I really do love making them and it's kinda the only thing I like doing nowadays, so the other aspect of why I get them done fast comparatively is just that it's what I spend all my free time doing. Some comics take weeks of me working on them daily to finish them, because working on them is my main coping skill rn so it always feels worth doing. I know it can't last forever so I try to just get as many stories as I can out before my circumstances change! Maybe don't be motivated by fear of the future though. Just do these because it's fun and people love reading your comics :') I KNOW I DO

It was true, in the beginning you absolutely hated Gojo's annoying ass. Instead, Geto was the one who just charmed you, yet now that infatuation has worn off. You see Suguru as a good friend who listens to all your rants about his best friend Satoru.

The two of you have been in this situationship where the pretense was Satoru would help you forget about your feelings for Suguru. It's been half a year?

Is the inner conversation you have everytime Satoru pouts, bringing up Suguru which killed you. Having to lie straight to his face. He's such a helpful, selfless soul. Here you were shamelessly kissing him, making him believe he's the replacement.

The rain only poured louder, dark overcast draping over the cityscape, as you arrived to your buststop, already half soaked as you got off and stood underneath the bus stand. poor penelope feeling guilt over tate andrews and equating herself with a serial killer. and it was strangely sweet how voit kind of connected with her in a paternal sense. and it makes sense that voit would like penelope cause she's the only one that's been kind to him. but i am glad that emily, while obviously feeling a little bit frustrated by penelope, told penelope that she didn't need to explain and that she didn't sound crazy. <3 <3

FRANKLY i'm not entirely sold on evan's innocence - aside from just being a jerk who tried to move in on rebecca while her girlfriend was in the hospital. i feel like the likelihood is low that he is involved - i'm like 95% sure he really was just a red herring all along - but it just still seems off. could be because the actor is playing him so smarmy. haha.

the unknown potential maria jones connection has got me about ready to go back and watch that episode to look for clues myself hahahaha. I NEED TO KNOW!

there sure was a lot of stuff pointing the finger at ochoa as the disciple this episode.

we have: ochoa being strangely concerned about voit going back to prison and him needing to "accept" it, the statement of "I believe you are different" in a slightly reverent tone, the suspicion about the disciple being someone who knows all about voit's memory issues so hospital staff are high possibilities and yet emily hand-waving ochoa as a suspect because of her "reputation", ochoa thinking it would be "the best thing for the both of them" for tyler and voit to work together (maybe with the hope that interacting with tyler would revert voit). INTERESTING.

there also sure was a lot of stuff making tyler look bad this episode.

tyler went SO HARD on this evan theory, which if had turned out to be true would have been a point in favor of him not being the disciple. but since evan was framed, it just makes tyler look like he totally went after the guy. D: D: we're not gonna know who the disciple is until we know!! they are throwing so much evidence at both ochoa and tyler at this point hahaha. DAMNIT!! (but omg I am loving this! WHO IS ITTTT. what a great mystery!!!)

Just got back from seeing Elio and AAAAAH IT WAS SO SWEET AND CUTE PLEASE GO SEE IT so I’m just gonna write down all the thoughts I can think of the movie with gradually decreasing coherence (spoilers below)

Honestly it’s so real that Elio in his time of grief got so deeply attached to something that brought him comfort in his darkest times, can relate

I was kinda expecting/dreading Glordon to turn on Elio due to a perceived betrayal due to the whole bargaining chip thing like “was I really your friend at all?” but I was really pleasantly surprised when they didn’t do that! They stayed friends the whole movie!

This is more of a me thing but despite the movie literally being in outer space, the scope of the movie felt smaller than I anticipated? I guess I kinda expected Elio and Glordon to like go on the run hopping from planet to planet and I would have liked to see that, but I’m not faulting the movie itself for it since the marketing wasn’t very good and the movie was really good for what it was

The horror bits! Oh my god. They were so weirdly good and just the right amount of scary for me. The scene where Olga follows clone Elio’s hair down the hall and into Elio’s room had my jaw ON THE FLOOR

LORD GRIGON!!!! - he is the one dad ever who went to therapy he was such a good character it took me COMPLETELY off guard when he ripped his armor off to hold his dying son like MY GASTS WERE FLABBBBEREDDDDDDD it felt the same as that one part in Bluey’s The Sign where Bandit ripped the sign out of the ground IT WAS SO SWEET IM DEAD

I LOVE how Olga wanted to be an astronaut and she did end up going to space in the end I love that for her

The movie kinda like gave me this weird existential feeling of like “are we alone in the universe” but like not in a bad way. I haven’t really thought much about like aliens before but I don’t know, I think this movie might have changed that for me

THE PART WHERE THE ALIENS MESSAGE WAS ON ALL THE SCREENS AAAAAAH I LOVED IT I DONT KNOW WHY BUT I LOVED IT SO MUCH

I really like the whole thing about like “needing” to go into the carapace to become bigger, stronger, scarier so you can participate in the adult’s world but in doing so you lose true connections with people because you can never show your vulnerable soft side again like it feels like an allegory for masking/unmasking it was kinda cool

So... Guess what's been done now? Or like, a while ago but I didn't bother updating y'all here about the sprite sheet since the new chapters of Deltarune have been officially out, which could've very much rendered all of this very obsolete... I say could cuz I've still not played them myself and have no clue if Catti is involved in anyway, lol. (Which is why I would also appreciate if anyone interacting with this not spoil anything in reblogs or whatever.)

I also say a while ago, because I actually did update the sprite sheet on TSR at least, I think right before the release of Deltarune on like June 3rd or 4th. I do apologize for not updating you people on Tumblr, though. But that's because...

I was working on a drawing of my design, to go with the update post! But sadly I wasn't able to finish it on time, which bummed me quite a bit, not gonna lie. Probably contributed to me not bothering with updating. What compelled me to do so now, though? I just simply wanted to check on my Tumblr activity today, and was really surprised seeing the original post still gaining traction to this day! And a lot!! Thank you guys so much, seeing people still care about this dated and irrelevant (at least I assume) design made me feel a lot better. Enough to actually want to update finally.

Just wanted to say as well that I won't be using this site much anymore, at least for a while, since I've simply lost interest in Deltarune as of late. And especially don't want to be spoiled to hell and back by everyone on the new chapters, lol. So I'll be inactive for the time being. Thanks again everyone.

I love this fic LMAO. It's literally just Jack helping Bunny on Easter during the pandemic, really, what more do you need? I always like it in fics when Jack helps around at Easter, idk, it's sweet. Also I love how straight up indulgent Jack is in here, it's very sweet. It's not very romantic, again it's pre-slash, but it's still sweet if you look at it platonically.

I love this one!! One of the first fics I read about this ship that immediately has me enamoured. This story focuses a lot about Jack and his place in the guardians as well as his developing relationship with them, the Jackrabbit is on the side but that's appeal of it lmao.

This one's just straight up cool honestly. There's Dark!Jack but not to the point that it's disturbing for me (well, it's dark!jack, there's bound to be something disturbing). It's more corrupted Jack honestly. I like this one because there's fairy tale elements in the way it's written. It's a really cool fic.

Bunnymund Holmes (series) by Eastofthemoon, Icka M Chif (mischif) and Ladynero

Au in which Bunny is Sherlock Holmes and it's the highlight of this series LMAO. First of, this series is fun. Bunny being Holmes fits surprisingly well for his character. 13 fics in total, with vibrant lore and intriguing plots. It's not only about Jackrabbit, there's fics about North and Bunny having the best bromance ever, one that's just straight up about Tooth, and one where Tooth and jack are bonding by smacking each other with their respective weapons. It's great, it's fun I love this au very much.

The Crux of It Is by olrinarts

In which, Jack is the stupid this time and tries to get Bunny laid with anyone but himself. That's it, that's the fic. Your honor they are idiots and I'm not willing to defend them.

Also Jack is a thief here and I'm sure it'd make for a very interesting 'how I met your father' story.

April Showers Bring What Again? by rin0rourke

Another fic that uses book lore!! Golden age never fell in this au and makes me so happy cuz there's very little rotg content about the Golden Age and it sucks because it's so interesting. Jack is a mage and works in retail here!! Not really romantic but I love this fic nonetheless because lore LMAO

Sing, Sing, Sing by Melissae

Soul mate au!! The name on wrist and heartsong thing. The vibe of this fic is pretty melancholic but it's worth it in the end when they finally figured it out. Forever loving the scene where Bunny sprouts flowers for Jack to witness the start of spring. I love it, it's great.

Believing is Seeing by Melissae

Modern au where Jack is mortal and skates short track speedskating for the Olympics and is friends with the Easter Bunny. It's a really sweet fic!! Especially cuz the Guardians were watching and supporting Jack in the Olympics. I love this fic oouughh. Jack being into speedskating isn't something I considered but it fits him a lot lmao.

Hurt/Comfort my love!!! Love love love the bonding of Jack and Bunny here. It's really sweet, found family feels and you know that I'm an absolute sucker for found family feels.

The one where the Guardians has to act out Beauty and the Beast for Sophie ft. Bunny as Belle and Jack as the Beast. Love this fic, it's more of a Jamie fic and the Jackrabbit is background stuff but still. I adore this fic so much. Also can you imagine how amusing it would be to have folk tale icons act out a fairytale story? I'd be rolling on the floor laughing.

Kiss Cam Universe (series) by WritLarge

Human Au! Where Jack retaliates on his shitty boyfriend and kisses the guy next to him on the kiss cam. And that guy happens to be Aster. I love the second part of this series because Jack gets to meet the rest lmao. Also love it when in human aus, people add Pitch into the guardian's friend group as this really eccentric guy that gives you the creeps. Like how Pitch is in rufftoon's comics lmao, that's the only pitch I'll ever accept in any human Au ever.

Seriously Considering Magistricide by WritLarge

Another human au! Where Bunny and Jack bonds over hating their respective kid's shitty teacher every monthly parent meetings. This was fun, I love how it doesn't have a lot of drama (really the only drama is whatever is happening with Jack and Bunny). Pretty easy-going fic.

Morning Blues by iJacques

The one where Bunny can't sleep and Jack tries to help him. It's pre-slash and more platonic, not really romantic but I like it. It's a very down to earth fic, I just love the vibe it gives off. Also the idea of walking in a room and just have Bunny laying down on the floor like a rug would either have me burst out laughing or think he's dead LMAO.

This one's a human au! Wherein Jack is a detective and Bunny is the guy he's trying to look over. I love the fact that Bunny was an apparently annoying case for others but when Jack took over, the roles switches BAHHAHAHHA It's an amazing fic, very intriguing!

yall I decided to take a break from social media for a week while I visited my family, and I figured nothing was gonna happen while I was gone since the Avatar fandom's been so dry lately. Imagine my surprise when this is literally the first thing I see when I open instagram after getting back from my trip!!

I have too many thoughts I'm just gonna blurb them all here

first off, this scene either means Spider got captured by Quaritch AGAIN! OR it means Spider willingly went with Quaritch for some reason and obviously isn't thrilled about it, and yikes, I don't know which option is worse! I'd hate to see him captured AGAIN after being a prisoner for so long, but I also don't want to think about what circumstances would lead to him willingly going with Q...

The very second thing I noticed was Quaritch's awesome hoodie, its got the recom logo on it, idk why its so funny to see him in casual clothing lmao. I want one of those. Q looks like he's trying to be a cool dad for his teen who's not buying it lol

anyways, getting more serious, Q just looks all happy and proud of himself, and his body language looks like he's trying to cajole spider into cheering up or doing something for him. At first glance, it looks like a nice scene, but when you stop and think about the context, it feels a little more sinister

What did quaritch do to get spider here? why's he trapped in bridgehead again? The room looks like yet another holding cell, so he's clearly reduced back to his weird POW/mascot status. What's Q trying to get spider to do now? Why does poor spider look so upset? Sir, can you not try to kidnap your child for 5 seconds 😭

Awhile ago I made a post speculating that Quaritch might respect Spider's decision to stay with the sullies and let him be as long as he's safe, but this image makes me think thats not happening!

But ANYWAY, onto Spider!

but uhhh somebody on reddit pointed out that if you look carefully at his wrists you can see the skin is red/bruised like he was handcuffed or tied down, poor boyyy😭😭😭

Here's what Stephen Lang had to say in the interview:

So it's not just Spider and Quaritch who will reconnect, and I'm betting he's alluding to the leaked scene of Jake and Quaritch being forced to team up. But from the sound of it, that alliance is not going to last very long, which isn't surprising at all knowing Quaritch. Oh well, it'll be cool to see while it lasts

“Spider confuses Quaritch, but Quaritch wants clarity. There is something about Spider that Quaritch really loves — not a word we associate with him. I think respect and admiration really develop in spades, as well as animosity and manipulation. The relationship will deepen — for better or worse.”

Woop, there it is, basically lines up with what I was anticipating. Quaritch is confused, but deep down he really loves, respects, and admires Spider, and I think he'll be more willing to admit it after he called him son at the end of A2. However, there will also be animosity and manipulation, presumably meaning that even though Q genuinely loves Spider, he's still going to try to manipulate him into aligning with his goals, which won't end well for poor Spider. Aaaaaghhhh I love and hate these kinds of character dynamics: the love is there, the love is real, but it's not going to save their relationship because Quaritch can't let go of his villainous side. It's gonna be so tragic! I can't wait to see how it all pans out!

I want to be a fly on the wall for the jam session that took place after Margie spent the night. Does Raf ask her why she left? What's her explaination?

He...doesn't lmao because he wouldn't want to be asked if it were him in her shoes.

But he does tell her that it was kind of a bummer to come home to an empty apartment and that he wasn't just sayin stuff to be nice.

Margie provides appologies [she always apologises for everything] and it like "yah! I had some other commitments n' stuff." and then compliments his place and tells him that the waking up to the smell of coffee and eggs reminded her so much of weekends growing up at home--because every saturday, her dad would be up by 8am making coffee and eggs and bacon and the smell always motivated her to get out of bed...because she'd miss out on it if she slept in. And she really, really liked that.

During this jam meet-up, Raf doesn't try to corner her into confirming to him that she's unhoused. He gets why she'd be reluctant to give him that kind of information abt herself.

He gets her to crash at his place a couple more times over thr next week or so until he finally give her a set of her own keys to the apartment as an "early christmas gift". And actually--Margie refuses to take them at first, going into full word vomit over how worried she is abt straining their relationship, because all she really wants is someone to play music with--and she overshares all the unflattering tmi details about what makes her a difficult person to live with and why she's usually considered to be a poor roommate lmao

And Raf is like "cool, I don't care." and promises to be real straight forward with her if he doesn't think the roommate thing is gonna work out, assuring her that he has the same interest as she does in preserving their relationship as jam partners. LOVE LOVE LOVE that the first time we see haku with an actually mad expression is when subaru reveals he was lying to darkwick. "look where you're standing. you of all people should know better than this." haku has seen first hand what happens when ghouls become liabilities and subaru has seen lyca been locked up for less! he's still in here! haku has INTIMATE knowledge, especially after what he was implying in the prologue/chapter one around the rui conversation, of what happens to ghouls that disagree with darkwick. UGH ugh ugh haku im shaking you in a jar TELL ME ABOUT THE CLASH

so i spoke a little about haku's motivations in my traitor theory post but i'm almost kind of wondering now if haku became the traitor as like, a sacrificial move. like he fell on the wire so no one else would have to. he's mentioned a couple times in a few episodes and screen lines about how his family is a big deal but he's nothing special, always takes the easy way out, etc. maybe him making the play to become darkwick's puppet was his way of making up for that, that this is how he could finally do something big and worthwhile.

or he's just slimy, who knows.

anyways it made me so genuinely happy to see lyca being freed even if darkwick put that wack ass condition on it.

this chapter was such a whirlwind the whole way through and had one of the best plot twists i've seen in this game. love hotarubi so much and lyca deserves the WORLD. 10/10

Oh this is a REALLY hard question, namely because I've never thought of it before. I'm very aroace, so I'm going to approach this as if I'm creating an adult-aged self insert who I'm planning to ship with someone.

With that in mind, I pick Penny OR Dr. Zarei, but not both at once (even though my hypothetical self insert would probably be poly). Penny has been getting into enough shenanigans, on-screen or otherwise, that I think it would be fun being a part of her 'plot', so to speak. Also, her personality is DELIGHTFUL. She'd be fun to talk to and chaotic to follow around and assist. A self-insert of mine would probably be willing to abandon zir personal moral code if it meant ze got to hang out with Penny.

I have to admit that I picked Zarei for similar reasons (fun gimmick/plot), haha. I think the whole scientist thing is really cool, as a reader I'm a huge fan of Zarei's willingness to play around with spirit homonculi. It's awesome. It's hard to say what the adjustment period would be like for my self insert character, but I imagine a sense of scientific curiosity would win over in the end. Zarei and her weird spectral lab assistant. Anyways.

Day and Zarei would still be canon in this AU, OF COURSE. I don't normally go for canon ships but I'm dedicated to Day-Z. Is that their ship name? I think that's their ship name.

I also just realized that in both scenarios, I imagined my self insert being the eager assistant to each girl's respective brands of chaos. The relationship would 100% come secondary to them being weird and cool. I guess I AM too aroace for this question HAHA
