I've been obsessed w tf since i watched the movie in october #what's w the excessive use of rake brushes?? Good question. I wanted to emulate the feel of metal #but turns out my knowledge of how to use rake brushes are in fact. poor #starscream isn't my fav character it's actually d-16 but I really liked screamer's character design #it's such a refreshing take but still recognizable as starscream. the black accent w his classic colors is such a great design #also funnily enough whenever I see tfone starscream fanart his hips are always cocked #I started this piece a month ago so when I saw the other fanarts I'm pretty bemused. It's like everyone's a hive mind or something #or maybe it's just not starscream if he isn't cunty #anyway

Maybe the problem with Christian fiction is that it's non-denominational. People are just "Christian", with no effort put into showing what practicing that religion looks like for them specifically. No indication that there are other Christians who could have different beliefs. No wrestling with differing ideas and the struggle of how one should live out their Christian faith. And that makes it unrealistic and unrelatable.

#me reading any christian historical fiction set in england: why are none of these gentry anglican??#they ARE all anglican and if they are not it is extremely plot and character relevant you can't just have them using evangelical buzzwords #but i'm also thinking of this because i started another charlotte yonge book #that is by far my favorite of the things of hers that i've read #because it has characters who have different upbringings and religious opinions #instead of just 'here's a bunch of high church anglicans judging people who don't live up to their victorian standard'#you have the very high church anglican rector whose wife is worldly but still a very good person #the girl raised in a very strict protestant family who is more scrupulous than the anglicans but is still recognized as a good person #you have people who are trying to work out the nuances of different issues #and that makes it so much more realistic and so much easier to integrate into the story #(the politics though are hilarious)#(most of the classics that survive are the ones that were 'ahead of their time' in politics)#(so it's equally fascinating and refreshing and a bit infuriating to see one that is very very of its time with regards to women's rights)#('why did this woman get up at the meeting and explain her very good ideas for rebuilding after the fire? she should have had a man do it')#(meanwhile i'm just screaming 'why on earth SHOULDN'T she???')#(it's almost enough to make a feminist of me)

fwiw i believe this was the first jeff nippard video i ever watched, absolutely caught my interest bc my gut instinct was to go 'there's no way that's right' but the more i thought about it the more i realized it actually made sense and i had just been wrong about posture and pain before

Sinco as a ship are such boring middle aged men together, and I think that's beautiful. When they're together all their ruthlessness and banal violence almost cancels out, almost. Silco and Singed aren't after the same goal, but they're both just on the same wavelength that there's no real argument or manipulation, it's just two men in agreement to spend over a decade of their lives working together.

Almost nothing seems like an argument between them, they're just on the same page. Silco and Singed are completely independent of eachother and it makes their relationship all the more intentional. They're both set in their ways in what they want and who they have to be to get it, but the two have carved a space for each other in their lives.

Singed is so sparing with his empathy, but is willing to extend it to Silco, while Silco is willing to trust Singed with Jinx. Except in the case of their children, there's not much further these men go in forms vulnerability for anyone else but eachother.

shoutout to the 2 people at my sisters uni graduation today who pulled out palestinian flags when they walked across the stage and huge shoutout to the fact that most of the room started enthusiastically cheering the second they did

#its refreshing to see such open support of palestine outside of just online circles #i genuinely dont know if they were allowed to do that #(probably not since i dont think the university has made an official statement on their stance)#but fuck it they did it anyways and i respect the hell out of them for it #the one girl full on hid it in her gown and stopped dead in her tracks in the middle of the stage to hold it out #she was the first of the 2 of them too so she fr did not know how the crowd was gonna react #i think people tend to underestimate the effect that acts like this actually have #the best way to draw attention to an issue is to cause disruption in places of power #although a university doesnt have a direct political impact it holds so much power within academic spheres #those people stopping in the middle of the stage disrupted the ceremony and thats a GOOD thing #because it made everyone in that room (many of which who are very important people) stop and watch and listen and think #if it made people uncomfortable then thats GOOD because it means people are being forced to look at it and address the issue #at the very least even if it didnt change any minds it let people who have close personal ties to the genocide of palestinians feel support #it made them feel seen and like there are people who hear them and want to help #which is even more incredible considering these are university graduates who very likely could end up in a higher position of power #sorry for the rambling but this is actually so important to me #people dont just care about palestine online. they care about it in real life too #they care about it enough to use THEIR moment on stage -- the moment theyve been working towards for 4 years -- to speak out #using your own graduation as a form of protest is actually fucking awesome and i think more people should do it #ramblings #free palestine

i was gonna ask if there was a dragon design in the show that is everyone’s favorite but then i remembered we’re getting tessarion and maybe dreamfyre so i’ll hold off. tbh i really love arrax even tho he’s only there for 2 seconds before he gets chomped, i liked his color. i hope we get a better look at silverwing bc i think she could take it, i love that she doesn’t have that old dragon gullet thing, i think it’s kinda funny. i wish we had more sunfyre i don’t think we really got a proper look at him. i think i liked sunfyre’s noises the best tho. special shout out caraxes for a cute ass noodle boy tho

recap/summary from last update:

It's been 6 months since the last update and I'm 98% sure that everyone's forgotten what happened.

I'm gonna sum it up before the next/last update. I'm going part by part and I'm linking too. Spoilers obviously!

⚠️CWs includes death, gore, blood, guns.

|| parallel - An injured Charles is cornered by Vin\The Werewolf (for the sake of this, he's Vin from here on out); he reveals what his motivation(s) were in regards to 'curing' John, but not before guessing on how Vin is still alive. He also reveals his nature and tries to guilt and manipulate Vin to try and spare himself. This goes poorly.

|| ⚠️asunder - An unknown amount of time passes. Mark (hey, remember him??) barges in into the lab and sees the destruction that Vin wrought... and sees him over the headless, gutless corpse of Charles. Vin doesn't attack him or the two heavily armed guards; Mark realizes that Vin is barely keeping it together... he asks gently if he is done and if he wants to leave.

|| cleanse - Vin washing out all the blood that was on him. The water is scalding hot.

|| admonitory - Vin is clean now and is in a room sequestered away from everyone else. He feels strange being free like this... he and Mark discuss how they'll cover this up. Mark says that he can declare John dead or scrub everything out by deleting the footage and saying someone failed a spot check. (Note: if you remember Part 8 from The Werewolf story, this didn't happen as Brian contacted him and gave him the files and thing that he asked for.) Vin then tells Mark that he'll let him live on the condition to not let anyone know of his existence or else he will finish what he started and they will not find his body.

|| soul - Vin retrieves John from... somewhere. Whereever this place is, it's beautiful, nice and sunny. Vin sees someone holding John in their arms. It's clear that they're together -- not quite guarding him. Even if he couldn't see his face, Vin can sense a gentleness about him. Maybe one day...

|| departure - Vin revives John. His plan worked and it seems like Vin doesn't want to do anything with him; John asks and he tells him that it's none of his business what happened other than that the threat is over. He goes to leave until John's hands/arms turn red... Vin has no choice but to tell him anyway, even if he's not going to remember it. Vin also tells John that what he had to do in combination of the severely weakened healing ability and the toxins causing severe damage to their heart, he'll have to go dormant for him to heal everything -- 2 years. In the meantime, John will feel incomplete, pain... but he'll live.

(edit: this is one of the reasons why when its time to switch, he has chest/heart pains; vin did complete heal it -- scars and all -- but years of meds and the toxins really did a number on it. if nothing else, it's a reminder. like I said tho, his heart is completely fine.)

|| pyhrric -- Vin is back on his side. One step closer to his freedom... but the toll of his actions, the toxins, everything, is heavy as he enters his dormancy. Two years is a long time...

|| brew -- Vin ends the memory and now John knows the full truth of that night. John points out that five people died and not six, but Vin is counting John in that... Charles is really debatable. He also asks why Mark was spared and it was two things -- he didn't perceive him as a threat and he needed someone to survive to tell the tale. (and he was tired, lol.)

John decides something isn't right... Vin's holding back on something. He tells Vin that he hasn't got his revenge completely bc he is still alive. Vin counters that John is hiding something and his memory isn't as bad as he says it is -- he is hiding behind missing memories...

...that John doesn't to take responsibility for any of this. It's easy to blame bad/missing memories because of Charles and the medicine he took. That he isn't blameless.

This all happened because of John.

Got distracted looking at Chipp and Venoms win quotes about each other- no one look at me-

#their X2 ending remains real and true-#I think Chipp is like. a refreshing presence to Venom #he's someone that expresses himself openly and relies on his gut instincts to guide him where he needs to go #even if his gut leads him to trying to become president of whatever country that will have him-#Venom can still see he's trying to do something good. he knew that when Chipp attempted to kill him to avenge his master #and trusts him enough to follow his lead in Chipps AC ending #and on Chipps end he definitely picked up on Venom not valuing himself as a person when they met #thats why Chipp didn't go through with killing him when he had the opportunity to #when Venom told him the assassins guild is just a tool to be wielded by someone else #I think Chipp could read between the lines enough to realise thats what *this* head of the guild thinks they are. because thats all he knows #thats why he started thinking about what he could do to actually change things #and once he had his answer he extended his hand to Venom. just like his master did for him.#I feel like... Fundamentally these two see each other as people worth helping and they're going about it in their own way #you know what I mean? ahh big I'm a fool I know nothing disclaimer on this one-#thats just my reading on them so far yk?#if anyone read all that- hi nice to see you <3 #yappin'

thank you so much, hearing that means a ton to me <3 you know what, i DO feel free in that way, which is something that hasn't always been easy for me. but it's made a lot easier by the fact that u guys tend to be, like, really cool and understanding and supportive about it, which i really really appreciate!!

#i want to get back to putting as much time in my personal stuff as i used to #it's hard due to like. mental stuff and having to put a LOT of fight in - esp the past year or so - just to get my work done #and then there's like. just not enough left over for my own stories #which is something that in past years i have been really distressed by and been really hard on myself abt #but slowly over time i think i am getting better and better at being gentler to myself abt it #and the thing is. before i used to cling rly hard to the idea of. 'yes bc if u REST REALLY GOOD u will ACTUALLY be REFRESHED and be able to #-DRAW MORE!!!!! the reward for self care is u actually trick urself into DRAWING MORE!!!! won't that be great!'#and i think what i have learned. is sometimes actually. the end result of taking better care of urself is no u actually produce less.#which is very scary at first when the idea of the secret Well-Rested EXP Bonus has been a significant carrot to u #but i am. coaxing myself into being cool w the reality of it. and i still believe at some point more will blossom from it #just in a different and less urgent and less transactional way than i was banking on before. u know
