prompt : edit your favourite character with your friend's favourite character

AAAA FINAL DAY!!!!! this whole event was rly fun to do && im so happy i could participate in it!! for this prompt i asked one of my closest friends imo beside clock aka yukii aka the person im matching with!! the character they chose was bender from futurama sooo i tried to make it work gehefsbfh .... it was rly hard for me to choose between suitcase ii and tennisball bfb but i ended up doing TB because i already did suitcase!!

No. That's not fair. It wasn't all Ortega; she was just the flashy, brilliant smile pasted on a world you wanted to be a part of. Anathema had managed, and that meant that you could too, right? Themmy was as ill a fit as you were, faking the smile more often than you because you didn't care enough to pretend. Were you the only one that noticed? Was that why you were friends?

Felt like doodling Anathema smiling yesterday, though wasn’t sure if I like weird gradmap colors or oversaturated ones better, so why not both? c:

here are examples of those pages with and without the gradient maps -- it really makes a difference:

in the last image, some of the colors are the same whether the layer is toggled on or off bc sometimes i lay a gradient map layer down first to basically give myself a color scheme, but then i do any fiddly painting and stuff OVER the gradmap -- because otherwise, trying to pick colors and work under a gradmap, while it's changing everything you're doing, is a little fiddly.

and here's the actual color range of the gradient map that's on these!! i feel like i still can never guess what a certain map will do to my colors just by looking at it, which is why i think the only way to learn how 2 use gradmaps is to fuck around with them over and over. there are a ton u can dl off the clip studio asset store so if u use csp i really recommend playing around that way!

thank you so much! i've actually been feeling a little burnt out/artblocked lately, and those pages were something i was doing fo try to loosen up and have fun again, so i'm so happy to hear it's noticeably working lol!!

re: the colors, i have a gradient map atop all the other layers at about half opacity, which gives ALL value gradations on the page that kind of color-shift effect; but the pen i used is just a normal one with some pen pressure opacity/line width effects! it's one of my favorite little tricks and something i do on just about all my digital art recently

How to make gifs

1. Go to File > Open as Layers and open your gif layers. Then, just crop, sharpen it and resize as usual.

2. Next, go to Filters > G’MIC and find Testing > Runounours > Curves.

Play around with the sliders to make a huge contrast in the gif. In this example, the foreground is darker than the sky in the background. Therefore, I brighten the bright parts and darken the dark parts as such.

Hit “OK”.

3. Next, make a new layer and name it: [render][;gradmap][;opacity:100] and drag it to the bottom of all the layers.

4. Now, pick your gradient color using your swatches here.

5. Now it’s time to process the tags. Go to Filters > Animation > Process Animstack Tags and wait for the process to finish. You can check your gif by going to Filters > Animation > Playback. If you don’t like the colors or want to change the opacity of your gradient map layer, just hit undo! And once you’re satisfied with it, flatten the layer groups by going to Image > Flatten Layer Groups. 

Over here, I feel the green is a bit too dark, so I’ll just undo and pick a lighter color in the swatches.

There! Much better!

When you like the results, just index and export the gif! :)

i chose bubbline bcz i used to be obsessed w them in like 2021/2022 ^_^ i will never not like adventure time sorrie :pp if ur wondering y the white on bubblegums graphic is a bit minter i just used the hue saturation brightness thing bcz i was 2 lazy 2 make a whole new gradmap.. oops x_x

agh... i accidentally discarded th e og post when iw as tryingmto post it because i thought i already did uehhh ..... anyways yap time!!! i love shUITCASE NOT SHITCASE so much shes THE character ever!! its sad shes dead.. i was gonna add the new suity plushie in the edit buuut i forgor to.. oopsies sowrie.. >_<" other than that this might be my favorite (+ most time consuming..) edit ever!!
