viktor routinely asks you to cut his hair for him when it starts to get too long, because he has no trust for any hairdresser. literally complains about all of them never getting his haircut right. especially all the prim and proper hairdressers in piltover, they always cut his hair way too short or try to suggest something new, when he just wants the same thing every time.

Storytime... Although my experience was brief AND confined to US micropress publishing it occurred during a critical time; specifically the rise of Twitter! Before the internet, Authors primarily relied on industry and journalistic reviews in print media as well as local and interstate events like the big Cons to promote their work; these were the OFFICAL CHANNELS. Word of mouth was the other big factor; the rise of personal Blogging and, a bit later, social media kicked the layman's opinion into overdrive!

It didn't take publishers of all levels long to start insisting Authors become public figures away from their signing desks at events, or tv interviews; everyone needed a personal blog to ENGAGE with their adoring (but as time went on, often festering) fans. Twitter came along and BOOM! Suddenly Everyman could have bantz with their favourtie wordsmith at any old time of day. Twitter's infancy wasn't inherently toxic, in fact it was a blast connecting with folks I admired both personally and professionally, although it quickly became parasocial. Publishers leaned on authors, especially new blood, to become demystified celebrities as a matter of course, not just because the increasingly unnecessary (and definitely bitter) journalistic press had found a new darling.

Bigger names than I'll ever be have talked at length about the toxicity run amok in the world of big publishing, about how the rise of social media has affect their work and what SHOULD BE their private lives. It IS affecting the craft itself on such a fundamental level at this point I would never critique someone for dipping out. I 100% agree that the lion's share of publicity for 'contracted' authors of all levels should rest with the publisher; no one should be forced to entertain, in whatever form, screen addicted everymen 24/7.

I think the prequels should’ve made Owen Lars Anakin’s full brother. I think we should’ve had gruff 19/20 year old completely Force-null Owen in TPM and make the audience assume for a moment that that’s young Darth Vader, but nope, it’s the tiny blond Yippee boy who’s playing with droids.

I want to play with old Ben’s line about Uncle Owen in ANH “He thought (Anakin) should’ve stayed here, not gotten involved (in the clone wars)” as Owen urging Anakin to quit the Order in AOTC because a war is brewing in the Republic, telling him their mother sent Anakin away to be safe, and would never approve of him becoming a soldier.

Then Uncle Owen in OWK with that same dismissive attitude towards Obi-Wan but this time it’s not just protectiveness of Luke but also because he blames the Jedi for corrupting his little brother

Fast-forwarding beyond this upcoming hiccup and waiting for the day when Swain comes in after a fairly dodgy late shift to see Carla and Betsy asleep on top of each other on the couch, unspecified cat also somewhere in the mix, both failing at trying to stay up to welcome her in the door (and make sure she's in one piece), and poor wrecked Lisa is standing there going "Great. Me: I am a healthy weight, I also live an active lifestyle within my limits for someone with chronic pain, and eat a healthy diet. Furthermore, [issue] has nothing to do with weight.

Doctor: Hmm it says here you weigh X amount.....that is....pretty fat.

Me: Actually I'm just very tall and X weight is perfect for my height. I used to have an eating disorder, but currently I am a very healthy weight. And again, [issue] has nothing to do with-

Doctor: I think....yuor promblem. It caused by you are fat. Should eat a vegetable sometimes and maybee excersize then you will better.

Me: I'm not overweight. Can you please just. Do a blood test or something?

Doctor: it says your cholesterol is high - that means you aar so fat. Fat disogusting monster. All you problems caused by this. Yuo should be ashamed.

Me: High cholesterol runs in my family, and it's actually lower than usual because my good diet and active lifestyle are-

Doctor: I diagnose you with fat. Prescription is get off u fat butt and eat lettuce.

Me: Sir my arms are broken and my kidney is falling out.

Doctor: All normal symptoms of fat.

no but i want neuvillette and zhongli to be grumpy old dragons visiting one another for tea. i know zhongli isn’t really a dragon but he has (had??) a dragon form and that’s enough for me. they bring each other little trinkets from their hoard every time they meet up. zhongli forgets once and neuvillette is so upset by this accidental faux pas that it immediately begins to pour. they sigh and speak fondly about their mortal, chaotic boss-ladies. they’re two grandpas complaining about the state of the world and lamenting about the pain of (relative) immortality. neuvillette keeps ribbing zhongli about being an archon, much to zhongli’s annoyance. “i’m not one anymore—” “but you were one. was it a compensation thing? your form is not that small, if you must know.” they’re openly considering inviting dvalin and venti vibrates with jealousy btw.
