JR: "And Munatar, bringing down Mike Bennett with the Spinebuster! And what's he doing here?"
Taz: "Looks like he's dancing and prancing around... doesn't he know he still has a match to win?"
JR: "Grabs ahold of Mike's legs... oh, and there's a crazed look on Munatar's eyes! I can’t say I like the look of this..."
Taz: "Me neither, JR... looks like we're in for a real ride here, folks!"
I then point at Mike's crotch and do a throat-slitting hand-gesture... and repeatedly stomp down on Mike Bennett's junk!
Crowd: "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8..."
Taz: "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Can someone get a ref out here? This just ain't right!"
Excalibur: "We knew he had some bad intentions... turns out they were worse than we'd imagined!"
Crowd: "16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21!"
Me: *Letting go and grandstanding* "Twenty! One! Nut shots!"
Taz: "You heard him say it here, folks! Twenty one crotch shots, all in a row! Man, that was nasty!"

SHARON SHANNON BAND: A CELEBRATION OF SHANE MACGOWAN

This was a special tribute to Shane MacGowan by his friends. Sharon Shannon with her Big Band and special guests Imelda May | Liam 'O Maonlai | Camille O' Sullivan | Cait O’ Riordan | Mundy
Everyone was amazing and it was such a feel-good evening, packed with music, laughter and much dancing. It was chaotic, fun and cathartic. I'm sure Shane would have been there in spirit. (well his photo was centre stage as was a box of beer. )
“..a stage full of friends, relatives, and equals, giving it everything in memory of our Punk Laureate, never just a gig…“
Of course, my favourite was Camille, I've been following her for 10 years and she never disappoints. I shot through the whole show, a couple in the pit and the rest from the balcony with a 70-200 lens. What an absolute treat, for the ears and eyes.
Shot for Academy Music Group and O2 Ritz, Manchester, but also on Louder Than War. Live Review by Mike Bennett on Louder Than War, read here:

Kiss Me Deadly (1955) might not be a certifiable horror movie, but this extraordinary film noir is certainly horror adjacent. Director Robert Aldrich, cinematographer Ernest Laszlo, and screenplay writer A. I. Bezzerides do themselves proud in this adaptation of the Mickey Spillane novel. Ralph Meeker, as antihero Mike Hammer, is supported by superb performances from a long list of recognizable character actors. Film noir — even horror adjacent science fiction film noir — is not for everyone, and indeed, the Classic Era Grue Crew are divided. Either way, Kiss Me Deadly must be seen, and there is much for the crew to discuss. Where else will you find a search for a “great whatsit?”
At the time of this writing, Kiss Me Deadly (1955) is available to stream from the Classic Sci-Fi Movie Channel and on physical media as a Blu-ray disc from Criterion.
Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror: The Classic Era records a new episode every two weeks. Next in their very flexible schedule – this one chosen by Daphne – is Earth vs. the Spider (1958), aka The Spider! Yes, it’s time for a B-I-G movie, as in Bert I. Gordon! The Grue Crew can’t wait!

open to: cody bennett | @codysx location: mike carter’s house party, kitchen
The night was starting to catch up with Nate. He hadn’t arrived early by any means, but the house hadn’t been this full when he pushed his way through the front door. His heart raced fast enough to be split into a calm beat for three people, and his thoughts had been running alongside it in hopes of some kind of triumph. He didn’t mind it at first. The very reason Nathaniel chased a suspension of his senses was because he burnt them out on nights like these.
The high, however, had eaten away at time too greedily. The house overflowed with guests, caging them in their hunger for chaos, but Nathaniel still felt every space between himself and them. It didn’t matter if it was just a few inches. The cage he was built of was vacant and Nate went from feeling everything, to not a damn thing. Seconds pooled around him, dragged out far longer and it was then that Nate realized his thoughts had won. They trickled into the front of his head, but not all of them were in his own voice. Words that weren’t his own, but hissed at him enough times to cut into his memory, pierced his focus. He needed to get them out, silence them with a rush of euphoria so loud it burned his ears, but he could barley move. Nate stayed propped against the kitchen counter, hat tilted enough to cover his closed eyes, and knuckles white over marble.
“Fuck,” He breathed, the word slipping past teeth he hadn’t realized were clenched. Then again, that voice but louder near him. He opened his eyes, searching for it now and it was in that halo of blonde that he felt pins and needles dance in his limbs. “Oh, for fuck’s sake.”

Are You Being Served? (Full TV Series) 1972-1985

youtube
A British sitcom created and written by executive producer David Croft and Jeremy Lloyd, with contributions from Michael Knowles and John Chapman, for the BBC. Set in London, the show follows the misadventures and mishaps of the staff of the retail ladies' and gentlemen's clothing departments in the flagship department store of a fictional chain called Grace Brothers. The series was broadcast on the BBC for ten seasons, totalling 69 episodes between 8 September 1972 and 1 April 1985 – and included five Christmas specials. There was also a 1977 film, a spin-off series Grace & Favour with some of the same main cast in 1991–1992, and a one-off episode with a new cast in 2016. Since its original release, all 69 episodes, the restored pilot, the Christmas specials, the sequel and the film have been released on DVD. Are You Being Served? was a great success in the UK. The series was also popular in Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and the Republic of Ireland, and was successfully aired in The Netherlands and Belgium with Dutch subtitles. The show was also popular in Israel and in the United States, where it gained a loyal and enthusiastic following when PBS television stations began airing reruns of it in the mid-1980s, along with other British sitcoms. In 2004, it was ranked 20th in a television countdown of Britain's Best Sitcom. Starring- Mollie Sugden Trevor Bannister Frank Thornton John Inman Wendy Richard Arthur Brough Nicholas Smith Larry Martyn Harold Bennett Arthur English James Hayter Penny Irving Vivienne Johnson Alfie Bass Mike Berry Kenneth Waller Candy Davis Moira Foot Benny Lee Milo Sperber Theme music - Ronnie Hazlehurst Seasons 1, 8, 9 & 10 are blocked from youtube in Australia, so here are those seasons on dailymotion- Season 1 - https://www.dailymotion.com/library/playlist/x77iec Season 8 - https://www.dailymotion.com/library/playlist/x77ief Season 9 - https://www.dailymotion.com/library/playlist/x77iep Season 10 - https://www.dailymotion.com/library/playlist/x77iev Here is also the movie, it was released after Season 5 -

https://www.dailymotion.com/library/playlist/x77ifa And here is the spin off series, Grace & Favour (American title: Are You Being Served? Again!)

https://www.dailymotion.com/library/playlist/x77if5 The idea of a spin-off was suggested by the cast of Are You Being Served? almost immediately after the original series ended in 1985. Lloyd and Croft liked the idea, but agreed that the department store format was exhausted and that any spin-off would require a change of location. Despite the enthusiasm of the original cast, it was almost seven years before Lloyd and Croft brought them back to television. The plot line that brought the cast from the store to the manor was considered remarkably topical, since it aired just a few months after the death of British publishing tycoon Robert Maxwell, who was revealed to have borrowed heavily against his own employees' pensions. Grace & Favour is different from Are You Being Served? in that it involves a continuous story arc, with certain plot elements, such as the relationship between Mr Humphries and Mavis Moulterd, unfolding throughout each episode. This in turn allowed the series to involve more complex storylines and subplots, making it possible to include returning guest stars and location shooting, neither of which was ever done on Are You Being Served? The title of the series is a double play on words. A "grace and favour" is a home or other property owned by a monarch but given to the use of a faithful retainer upon retirement, as with the retired characters in this series. Grace is also the surname of the owner of Grace Brothers, the fictional department store where the characters previously worked and was also the previous owner of Millstone Manor. Are You Being Served? cast member Trevor Bannister (Mr Lucas) chose not to return. Arthur English (Mr Harman) was also not brought back due to his retirement. Wendy Richard (Miss Brahms) took time off from filming EastEnders to film Grace & Favour. Also returning to their roles were John Inman (Mr Humphries), Mollie Sugden (Mrs Slocombe), Frank Thornton (Captain Peacock) and Nicholas Smith (Mr Rumbold). These were the same five actors to have appeared in every episode of Are You Being Served?

We miss U Charlie Watts!!

The Stones performed at a private party for Patriots owner Robert Kraft of all people. The test run looked like just that. Shark jumped. I am becoming disillusioned.
*****
SNL is back with Owen Wilson as first host of season 47. Kacey Musgraves is the musical guest. Episode 2 will have a ridic choice for host. Halsey will sing. I suppose $ is power with the Kardashians. I could think of about 10 million other people to host but more and more Lorne goes for the shiny object , what he THINKS people want instead of taking risk. Beck Bennett is out.
*****
Is everybody watching the Amber Ruffin Show?? I loved her before but now… I learn so much from her show. Sometimes it takes a comic to get to the real serious shit. For example: Have you heard of drowning towns? Towns like Oscarville, Kowaliga, York hill, Seneca Village, Prentiss and countless other black towns that were drowned out to make lakes for the local whites. Central Park was also made after a black community was erased from history. Development displacement? Alleyway dwelling authority? Even those rabid for history can find out new things everyday. Thanks Amber!!
*****
Bob Woodward and Robert Costa are finally giving us Peril !!!!!! I’ve been waiting!!** I was in political nerd heaven on Sept. 24 when Yamiche hosted Robert, Bob and Weijia Jang on Washington Week. All of my favorite pundits all together at one table, my dream team!!

Is this country the master of endless administrative work? None of us should have been surprised at the red tape that the slowed down the end of the war in Afghanistan.** Uber donated 50k for rides and meals to the Afghans when they arrive.**And why do so many waste taxpayer $ on useless recounts and recalls when people need real help with food and healthcare? They must really hate humanity.

Days Alert: The Beyond Salem thing was ridic but it was so great to see some old characters. Days is so great at visiting old family. Who can resist Shane, Austin and Carrie, Billie and the old Kristen? I do wish that Peacock would get their kinks out!! Back to the real Days: Are we smelling an Emmy for Susan Seaforth Hayes and Bill?? ** Good to have Abigail back. It is always fun to wonder which actress and or personality it will be. ** Deidre Hall got her star on the walk of fame.**And just in time for Halloween, the Devil is making a comeback. Delicious!! Hail Satan!!** It is past time for Tate and Teresa to come back to town. Brady needs to be put in his place. And thanks for the Philip and Chloe flashbacks!!

The Emmy’s were a little different this year with more of a Golden Globe look. Cedric the Entertainer hosted with Reggie Watts as DJ. Lots of minority noms but barely a win. It was a white people night. Ted Lasso had a great night. Mare of Eastown took home a few with Evan Peters, Julianne Nicholson and Kate Winslet. Now, Kate is great but how did Anya Taylor- Joy not walk away with that? Queens Gambit did win a couple and gave the longest speech with the seemingly arrogant director Scott Frank who opened up 2 page acceptance. Categories were tough but I was routing for Renee Elise Goldberry and Bowen Yang but perhaps next year. The people in England who had their own party for all the statues that the Crown won seemed to be having more fun! Hacks won for writing and directing and Jean Smart!! It was nice to see the Norm Macdonald love which was barely mentioned by Lorne but celebrated by John Oliver. Colbert ‘s election night special won as did JB Smoove. Hamilton won and Debbie Allen got the big one. I do not understand why real singers and or musicians have to be there for the in Memoriam. It takes me out of it a bit and concentrates the focus on them. Do they think that people will pay attention more? Do they want to keep the home audience or live audience from the bathroom? My best dressed were Anya Taylor-Joy, Michaela Cole who won for I may destroy you, Jean Smart, Josh O’Connor, Kathryn Hahn, Billy Porter, MJ Rodriguez, Keenan Thonpson, Leslie Odom Jr., Catherine O’Hara, Trevor Noah, Eugene Levy, Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, Bowen Yang, Anthony Anderson, Leslie Grossman, Amber Ruffin, Allyson Felix, Renee Elise Goldberry, Samira Wiley and Rege- Jean Page. My worst were Sarah Paulson, Gillian Anderson, Beanie Feldstein, Elizabeth Olsen and Aidy Bryant. To me the best part of the show was the enthusiasm of Conan and the way he injected himself into much of the evening .He was the show. Go Conan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thousands and thousands of people are in need. Haitian refugees and other immigrants have seen nothing like this what with assassination, a hurricane and earthquake. The Southern border is a mess.** Why does Fox news keep telling refugees the border is open as they sit back and laugh at Biden’s predicament. Spreading false info to intentionally hurt poor, distressed people has no end for them.

Do companies know how fucked up their employment websites are? It is true that some people do not want to work. It is true that people schedule interviews and don’t show up. It is also true that companies have made it so hard to apply that many can’t. I suppose it is easier for them but the poor who may really want to work have a hard time. Paper applications are almost completely gone. The old fashioned way of walking into low paying job sites and finding a connection with a manager rarely exist. Some places only accept texts or have long ridiculous psych tests that a working Mother may not have time for. A Father working many hours already, may not be able to go to the library to get online if they cannot afford a computer. Many websites tell you that there no positions available in your area while there is a huge sign in front of the establishment. Can’t find people to work.. Gee I wonder why?? And treat people with respect once you find them, how about that?

UNDER THE CUT YOU’LL FIND THE LIST OF ALL THE ROOMMATES.
The roommates were done by a RANDOM generator. Except for the people who were on the ship list and who messaged us requesting a specific roommate.
If you do not see your characters name on this list, or if you happen to get paired with one of the other characters you play - please message us POLITELY and let us know - the generator was a little weird, but hopefully, everyone is accounted for - if not, we’ll fix it, don’t worry :)
Remember, we are NOT mandating threads to be completed during this trip, however, we do expect everyone to reach out to their roommates, people you don’t normally talk to, etc, and simply branch out. If this goes well, we may do future trips without a mandated thread. However, if this doesn’t go well we will go back to mandating threads. We are trusting you all with this.
Please be mindful that we have an activity check before the trip, so do expect some changes! If your partner goes inactive or leaves the roleplay during the trip - the list will not be updated. Your FC just will no longer have a roommate for the duration of the trip to avoid confusion since this is only a weekend trip and not a week. However, if we get new members come in during the trip, they will be added to the roommates list accordingly.
Those on hiatus during the trip and reduced activity were not included in this list - but they must just state that their characters are on the trip. However, if those on reduced activity or on hiatus can get online during the trip to rp - you’re more than welcome to!
So, that being said - please LIKE THIS POST so you can not only keep track of this list but also so we know you read this notice.
