Gretchen may be a loner, but she loves attending gothic clubs simply for the music, the vibe, to clear her mind and for the promise of draining kine to death. If Andrei's too busy politicking, she'd often bring her childe Mercurio and her Setite packmate/Bishop Victoria to blow off steam. Though getting someone as uptight as her to agree to letting loose is sometimes a challenge, but she'd crack eventually. Their go-to hangout is definitely Confession. That place is right up Gretchen's alley in terms of everything she loves about nightclubs. Besides that, the Sabbat already have a sort of an insider working there who provides them with all sorts of available juicy intel... as well as Gretchen's share of the club's profit. That's right! Thee Venus Dare is a Sabbat associate and a ghoul of Mercurio (given that Gretchen can't make any blood bonds herself). The only downside though, is that there's a "no killing the customers" rule, which the ladies begrudgingly agreed to, whereas that's no problem for Mercurio. Overall, they always have a positively chill time hanging there.

Now, clubbing with Andrei is nearly impossible without there being a massacre which would most often stem from various factors: his animalistic possessiveness activating whenever Gretchen would get approached by others, boredom, hunger, a camera getting shoved at him or the irritation sparked by the age old question of "what's up with your face?". It's not all bad, they'd at least get some time to unwind before the que to escape 5-0 or any possible hunters arrives.

I think there's such an aggressive and violent grief that surrounds both Mahariel and Lavellan that is so hard to describe.

They're taken, stolen, from their homes, their people, to serve something they never wanted to be a part of. Their own heritages and cultures are ripped from them so easily, so quickly. They're hated and distrusted for what they look like and where they come from. They're only treated properly behind the masks of their status but it only serves to strip them of their identity as a Dalish elf. The elven companions Lavellan has can't even give them the time of day about their people. They're dismissive and unkind and it is far more isolating than the cruel humans. But they have hardly any time to mourn because the world is ending, how could they stop to think about such a trauma when, either their travels or the people they are surrounded by, can barely give them time to reflect on this. It is a grief that is so intertwined with so many emotions; sadness, rage, confusion, anxiety, fear, that it's hard to even distinguish one facet from another. And there is so much of it that it eats them whole. It grabs them and drags them down into an inescapable hell because who can understand what this is like? Who can understand this heavy grief better than each other? And when they finally are free, it is only rage that is left.
