𝖍𝖊𝖆𝖉𝖖𝖚𝖆𝖗𝖙𝖊𝖗𝖘, 2:25 𝖕𝖒 — there's a faint crackle that can be heard throughout headquarters, a hint that the communication system will soon come to life. it comes as a surprise, the mastermind catching the yōkai off guard, in the middle of their daily lives whenever they aren't on a heist.

"congratulations, crew." gabriel's voice rings through the entire building, a pause afterwards to give the crew time enough to start paying attention. "the jewelry auction heist from two weeks ago has finally paid off.." the mastermind starts, the slight ruffling of papers echoing behind his words. "the complete payoff for each piece of jewelry after it had been taken apart, made into separate jewelry pieces and resold is close to fifteen million dollars. which would make each crew member's individual cuts 1,071,428 dollars. the money has already been transferred over into your accounts, and i've chosen to exclude myself from payment on this heist due to how smoothly you as a crew worked." another beat of silence follows, faint sound of gabriel's glass clinking back down against the wooden surface of his desk.

"there are no traces of the yōkai ever being there, other than the cheap vending machine jewelry that replaced the real things — nice touch, by the way. i'm sure the auctioneer loved revealing plastic bullshit to the billionaires who were expecting some of the most expensive jewelry in the world." the mastermind then has to chuckle, a slight shake of his head. leave it to his crew to not only steal that much valuable jewelry, but prank the entire place in the process. "the police have given up on the search, knowing damn well we've vanished into thin air, which means it's now okay to start spending your cuts.. but spend wisely because i happen to have a surprise for you." it's not often that gabriel does something like that for the yōkai, other than the weekly family dinner that the crew members are required to attend. but he's in the giving spirit, so he figures why not?

"pack your bags, crew. we'll be leaving headquarters, traveling to hong kong via my private jet to spend a few days just celebrating and relaxing. i've reserved suites for each of you at the ritz-carlton in hong kong as well as reserving the victoria harbour suite. that suite is primarily for the celebration party i'll be holding for all of you, open bar, five-star chef.. all of it is already paid for, as well as one spa day for each of you if you wish to cash it in. i want you to relax, enjoy your time here. you've worked your asses off and done so in ways that i couldn't even begin to compliment. you deserve this, each and every single one of you, thank you, for doing such a phenomenal job with each thing i throw your way." the mastermind finishes, letting the silence fill headquarters once more before the familiar crackle tells the crew that he was done speaking entirely.
