WL!Winner Imagery Thoughts
Since the Wild Life finale was yesterday I thought I would share my thoughts on what the winner’s celestial symbolism should be in the form of a very long tumblr post, because what else do I have to do with my time?
Spoilers for the Wild Life SMP finale and winner + long post
Firstly a big congrats to Joel for winning!!! It's very deserved and he worked so hard for it, so GG!!
Like I said above, I’ve got some thoughts about what celestial body we should use to represent him as a winner and so I’m going to share them with whoever stumbles upon this.
[NOTE: Anything I say here is not meant to attack anyone who has different opinions or belittle anyone. I’m doing this for fun and to share my thoughts, not to hurt anyone's feelings. I love you all, do whatever you want forever.]
So far for each of the winners we have;
Sun - Grian
Stars - Scott
Moon - Pearl
Mars - Martyn (some people say Comet/Meteor but Mars is the most popular)
Earth - Scar
Pluto - Cleo (this depends on your personal headcanons as well but I like it, and this post isn’t about the intricacies of mine)
Now as funny as all of the “he should be car” jokes are (seriously they’re hilarious to me), I don't want to take away from his win by making it a joke, especially since we already have someone who isn’t fully accepted as a serious winner. (IDC if it was April Fools, Cleo you will always be a winner in my heart)
I’ve also seen a few people say Mars or Meteor, but this becomes confusing with Martyn’s symbolism and takes away from Joel’s win as well. I want to avoid that as much as possible because he deserves the same respect as the other winners.
Other ones I’ve seen are; Chariot, Supernova, White Dwarf, Shooting Star, Neutron Star, Jupiter, Mercury, and I’m sure there are more. None of these really stick for me so I’m going to go ahead and add to the list.
Usually, I’ve stayed out of discussions about winner symbolism in the past and left it up to the more brainy fans, but I have thought about what different players could be from time to time since I absolutely love space. When my older sibling said Venus it got my mental hamster going on its wheel.
Venus has been a popular planet in history for an incredibly long time and in many different cultures. It’s the second brightest object in the night sky (second to the Moon) and has a fascinating synodic cycle (how it moves through the sky). This movement causes it to get to a certain distance from the Sun to make it look like it’s disappearing from the sky for several days and then reappearing on the other side of it. Because of this, Venus can appear before sunrise in the morning or after sunset in the evening, but it never seems to reach the top of the sky. This has led to it being known by two other names, Morning Star and Evening Star. It also has many other names in different cultures and it wasn’t until the 13th century that it was given the name Venus, but I won't go into all of that today.
Venus has lots and lots of history around it mythologically, having been portrayed as both feminine and masculine and even as two figures at once. It’s known for representing love, war, beauty, and relationships—and it just isn’t quite right for Joel.
So after doing my extra research on Venus, I found that it wasn’t really the best fit (sorry Kat, not enough talk about family for it to cut it /hj). Even with the interesting parallel of Grian and Joel’s dynamic and how Venus goes from one side of the Sun and ends up on the other, it was too much of a stretch. I was going to stop here but then I got thinking about other planets and my mind wandered to the seventh planet from the sun.
You all know and love to make jokes about his name, Uranus! (a little pet peeve of mine, it’s pronounced your-un-us NOT your-anus)
Uranus is one of two Ice Giants and has the coldest planetary atmosphere in the Solar System. It’s named after the ancient Greek deity of the sky, the father of Kronos, but it has been argued that it has more mythological relevance with my favorite boy Prometheus. You know, the Titan that ticked off the gods by stealing fire for mortals and now has to have his liver eaten by eagles for eternity? Yeah, my boy.
This planet is known for being the planet of freedom and revolutionary vision. It represents the urge for change, the ability to visualize new possibilities, and “breaking through”. Much like how Joel was trying a new tactic for winning this season, Uranus is known symbolically for defying tradition and embracing change and originality.
So, it’s known for breakthroughs, extremes, innovation, and rebellion. Sounds about right for Joel, but I didn’t want to stop there. Doing more digging I looked for other similarities between the two of them.
A lot of what I found fit Joel’s character pretty well, but mostly from past seasons; eccentric, strange, unique, unpredictable, and untamed (although Joel is always strange /lh) but I was looking for something more current, something that was all about family. I did find the word wild used and referred to a few times though which was great.
My search was getting repetitive, everyone had the same things to say about Uranus’s symbolism and I was looking for someone to go more in-depth. But eventually, I made a breakthrough (how fitting)—the word “reformation”, which Oxford defines as “the action or process of reforming an institution or practice”. Bingo baby!
I looked further into this side of Uranus, the sort of things that use the wild aspects of this sort of personality in meaningful and productive ways. Lots of people were saying that negative expressions of Uranus include irresponsibility and rebelliousness without a cause—things that kept Joel from winning in the past—but I found someone who said this;
“Uranus asks us to adopt a humanitarian spirit and global mindset, allowing us to live as one unified being.”
This implies that to reach the positive expressions of Uranus—things like progressiveness, ingenuity, and enlightenment—a person under this planet would need to start looking beyond themselves as a singular goal and to care for and support others. To “live as one unified being” the way one might say a family should work together as a unit for the benefit of everyone involved. In other words, to use their eccentric and wild personality to help others as well as themself.
And what was Joel’s entire Wild Life PoV about? Dom Toretto Flipping his previous tactic of being an insane loner /j on its head and making friends by helping everyone else as well as himself. He used his wild nature and ability to commit to the bit to his advantage and won the whole series as the last green name, last yellow name, and last man standing.
So that is why I propose that we start using the planet Uranus to symbolize Joel’s victory—an equally wild and unpredictable symbol that can step up and help others to help himself.
Now, I know it doesn't fit the rhyme that’s been going around, but I can’t think of anything else that fits better and there's always next season for more rhyming words. (Grian did say see you next season, if it doesn't happen IDK what to say about your rhyme, shrug)
Also, not important to characterization but a fun bit of trivia anyway, Uranus was the sixth planet discovered by the ancient Greeks and Romans and it’s the seventh planet from the Sun. So regardless of whether you consider Joel the sixth or seventh winner, there’s a fun number coincidence.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense or fit, I wrote it all on minimal sleep and without my glasses. Also, I haven't watched all of Joel’s life series PoV yet so maybe someone with better qualifications should do this. Anyway, if you made it this far I love you and I wish you well. Have a doodle that I also did without my glasses for your patience and to maybe sway you some more.

had a terrible idea for s high school drama like show which involves the solar system. earth is the protagonist and she is the typical awkward girl who gets bullied for always being sick. the sun is a popular guy who is also an incredible asshole that thinks he is the center of everything. the moon acts as if he has more friends other than the earth when they dont. uranus is a drug dealer and everyone hates them but they're just a little guy. pluto is an exchange student and she doesnt speak the language the rest do so earth adopts her as friend. earth has cats named meteor and comet. i need to draw it why do i need to draw so many things

COSMIC LIFE
Grian: Sun (Grian = sun in Irish, plus the desert is sunny)
Scott: Stars (Starborne origin in Origins SMP, just generally fits the theme, the things around his head look kinda like stars)
Pearl: Moon (PearlecentMoon. It's in the name)
Martyn: Mars (Martyn means 'Dedicated to Mars'. Mars is the Roman god of war and Martyn won by fighting a lot)
Scar: Comet (Came second in 3rd life and has come back and won secret life, like how comits orbit(?))
Gem: Jupiter (Astrologically, Jupiter is the planet of luck (among other things), and Gem had very good beginners luck. The colour scheme also fits)
Jimmy: Pluto (hard to make aliances when you are always out first, and pluto is distant from the other planets. Not seen as the same as the rest, like Jimmy because he's always out first. Pluto is the Roman god of the underworld and Jimmy always(ish) dies first. Pluto is small and Jimmy is a toy (which are small). Small is also associated with weak and Jimmy is always out first which is associated with weakness)
Mumbo: Earth (Has a sort of grounding personality, 3rd out in SL, and earth is the 3rd planet from the sun. Also, mounders)
Cleo: Black hole (Black holes are scary and Cleo is scary. Black holes are also dead stars and Cleo is 'ZombieCleo')
Etho: Ether (Scientists in the 19th century believed the Ether to be a universal substance that made up the universe (or ssomething along those lines) tying into the fact that Etho had a big impact on Minecraft from the early game which is still prominant to this day. The theory was also made a long time ago tying into the fact that Etho started YT and his channel blew up earlier than most, and the fact that he is the OG Minecrafter.
Lizzie: Saturn (Married to Joel, and Joel is Saturn's asteroid belt/rings)
Joel: Saturn's asteroid belt (Married to Lizzie and Lizzie is Saturn)
Bdubs: Blanet (Stays around Cleo, who is the black hole. Blanets are also small and Bdubs is short)
Tango: Venus (Venus is the hottest planet. Tango's skin is fiery themed and most fans imagine his hair as being on fire)
Impulse: Pulsar (a pulsar is a small, dense ball of neutrons that sometimes happens when a big star dies. Beams that come from this pulse at regular intervals, like a drumbeat, and Impulse plays the drums. Also, Im-pulse, and Pulsar are similar, and Pulsar means pulse in Spanish (and some other languages) which is the last part of Impulse's name)
BigB: Event horizon (An event horizon is the point of no return from a black hole, and cleo and bigb's alliance was at a point of no return after Bigb's boogie kill. Event horizons are also round-ish like cookies)
Skizz: Meteor (Rushed in and got himself killed in 3rd life + last life, and meteors are rocks that get into the earth's atmosphere and sometimes crash into it)
Ren: Dark matter (Shadow alliance. He was also missing for two consecuitive seasons (LimL and SL) and dark matter is kinda mysterious)
This was worked on by me and various other members of the r/hermitcraft discord, and is also being posted here and in other social media platforms by several of us

From Science News:
Some of Earth's meteors are probably coming all the way from a neighboring star system The number of interstellar objects coming from Alpha Centauri will increase over time
By Ken Croswell February 28, 2025
Alpha Centauri, the nearest star system to the sun, is probably shedding comets and asteroids into our solar system - and even producing a few meteors in our sky.
Located just 4.3 light-years from Earth, Alpha Centauri consists of three stars that revolve around one another. If Alpha Centauri has an Oort cloud of distant comets as the sun does, about a million of these objects larger than a football field are now in our solar system, astronomers Cole Gregg and Paul Wiegert of the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada, estimate in work submitted February 5 to arXiv.org.
"Most of [the objects] would be in the far reaches of the solar system," Gregg says. That puts them well beyond the orbit of Pluto, where they are mingling with the native objects in the sun's own Oort cloud of cometary bodies.
Astronomers have only ever detected one interstellar asteroid and one interstellar comet in our solar system. But neither came from Alpha Centauri.
Just as Jupiter's gravity catapulted the two Voyager spacecraft onto interstellar trajectories, so the stars of Alpha Centauri and their planets should do the same to some of the comets and asteroids that swing around them. A small percentage of the ejected objects -- 0.03 percent -- pass through our solar system, Gregg and Wiegert say, but none of the large bodies is close enough for telescopes to see.
Still, small particles from Alpha Centauri probably reach Earth's atmosphere, where they burn up. Gregg and Wiegert estimate that up to 10 meteors worldwide come from Alpha Centauri each year.
"We expect these numbers to go up by about a factor of 10 when Alpha Centauri is closest," Gregg says. Alpha Centauri is racing toward us at 0.007 light-years per century (80,000 kilometers per hour) and will be closest 28,000 years from now, when it will be 3.2 light-years from Earth.
But 10 or even 100 meteors a year is a pittance compared with Earth's annual total of 7 trillion meteors. Furthermore, because Alpha Centauri lies far to the south, its meteors appear only in the far southern sky, out of sight of most people on Earth, Gregg and Wiegert say.
"Their calculations are right, but the problem hides basically in the assumptions," says Simon Portegies Zwart, an astronomer at Leiden Observatory in the Netherlands. We don't know the rate at which Alpha Centauri ejects material, he says, which means the actual number of interstellar objects coming from our near neighbor could be much greater or smaller than the study calculates. Nevertheless, the work demonstrates that our solar system is not an isolated object in space, he says. "We are connected to other objects -- like Alpha Centauri, like other stars in the neighborhood."

From Phys.org:
NASA powers down two Voyager science instruments to extend mission life
DC Agle, Calla Cofield, NASA March 5, 2025
Mission engineers at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California turned off the cosmic ray subsystem experiment aboard Voyager 1 on Feb. 25 and will shut off Voyager 2's low-energy charged particle instrument on March 24. Three science instruments will continue to operate on each spacecraft. The moves are part of an ongoing effort to manage the gradually diminishing power supply of the twin probes.
Launched in 1977, Voyagers 1 and 2 rely on a radioisotope power system that generates electricity from the heat of decaying plutonium. Both lose about 4 watts of power each year.
"The Voyagers have been deep space rock stars since launch, and we want to keep it that way as long as possible," said Suzanne Dodd, Voyager project manager at JPL. "But electrical power is running low. If we don't turn off an instrument on each Voyager now, they would probably have only a few more months of power before we would need to declare end of mission."
The two spacecraft carry identical sets of 10 science instruments. Some of the instruments, geared toward collecting data during planetary flybys, were turned off after both spacecraft completed their exploration of the solar system's gas giants.
The instruments that remained powered on well beyond the last planetary flyby were those the science team considered important for studying the solar system's heliosphere, a protective bubble of solar wind and magnetic fields created by the Sun, and interstellar space, the region outside the heliosphere. Voyager 1 reached the edge of the heliosphere and the beginning of interstellar space in 2012; Voyager 2 reached the boundary in
No other human-made spacecraft has operated in interstellar space.
Last October, to conserve energy, the project turned off Voyager 2's plasma science instrument, which measures the amount of plasma -- electrically charged atoms -- and the direction it is flowing. The instrument had collected only limited data in recent years due to its orientation relative to the direction that plasma flows in interstellar space. Voyager 1's plasma science instrument had been turned off years ago because of degraded performance.
Interstellar science legacy
The cosmic ray subsystem that was shut down on Voyager 1 last week is a suite of three telescopes designed to study cosmic rays, including protons from the galaxy and the Sun, by measuring their energy and flux. Data from those telescopes helped the Voyager science team determine when and where Voyager 1 exited the heliosphere.
Scheduled for deactivation later this month, Voyager 2's low-energy charged particle instrument measures the various ions, electrons, and cosmic rays originating from our solar system and galaxy. The instrument consists of two subsystems: the low-energy particle telescope for broader energy measurements, and the low-energy magnetospheric particle analyzer for more focused magnetospheric studies.
Both systems use a rotating platform so that the field of view is 360 degrees, and the platform is powered by a stepper motor that provides a 15.7-watt pulse every 192 seconds. The motor was tested to 500,000 steps-enough to guarantee continuous operation through the mission's encounters with Saturn, which occurred in August 1980 for Voyager 2. By the time it is deactivated on Voyager 2, the motor will have completed more than 8.5 million steps.
"The Voyager spacecraft have far surpassed their original mission to study the outer planets," said Patrick Koehn, Voyager program scientist at NASA Headquarters in Washington. "Every bit of additional data we have gathered since then is not only valuable bonus science for heliophysics, but also a testament to the exemplary engineering that has gone into the Voyagers -- starting nearly 50 years ago and continuing to this day."
Addition through subtraction
Mission engineers have taken steps to avoid turning off science instruments for as long as possible because the science data collected by the twin Voyager probes is unique. With these two instruments turned off, the Voyagers should have enough power to operate for about a year before the team needs to shut off another instrument on both spacecraft.
In the meantime, Voyager 1 will continue to operate its magnetometer and plasma wave subsystem. The spacecraft's low-energy charged particle instrument will operate through the remainder of 2025 but will be shut off next year.
Voyager 2 will continue to operate its magnetic field and plasma wave instruments for the foreseeable future. Its cosmic ray subsystem is scheduled to be shut off in 2026.
With the implementation of this power conservation plan, engineers believe the two probes could have enough electricity to continue operating with at least one science instrument into the 2030s. But they are also mindful that the Voyaérs have been weathering deep space for 47 years and that unforeseen challenges could shorten that timeline.
Long distance
Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 remain the most distant human-made objects ever built. Voyager 1 is more than 15 billion miles (25 billion kilometers) away. Voyager 2 is over 13 billion miles (21 billion kilometers) from Earth.
In fact, due to this distance, it takes over 23 hours to get a radio signal from Earth to Voyager 1, and 19½ hours to Voyager 2.
"Every minute of every day, the Voyagers explore a region where no spacecraft has gone before," said Linda Spilker, Voyager project scientist at JPL. "That also means every day could be our last. But that day could also bring another interstellar revelation. So, we're pulling out all the stops, doing what we can to make sure Voyagers 1 and 2 continue their trailblazing for the maximum time possible."

The following ficlet was written by @i-am-still-bb based on this photoset.
Fili/Kili, Teen.

If you’ve enjoyed this story, please leave a comment either in replies or on AO3. :)
Planet Killer
---
Fili remembered the first time he heard the term “Planet Killer.”
He was sitting in his 2nd grade classroom. The room smelled of chalk and rubber-soled sneakers that squeaked on the scuffed and worn tiled floors. Their desks were clustered in groups of four. Fili was near the front simply by virtue of his last name starting with a letter near the beginning of the alphabet.
He was working on the math worksheet that was that night’s homework when Ms. Bechdel rolled in a TV cart and tuned the television to a news station. It did not matter which one, they were all reporting on the meteor that they were calling Pompey. Everyone was tracking the comet that was going to come so close to Earth that they would be able to see it in the sky during daylight hours for days. Soon enough every channel, news or not, would be broadcasting the news.
Fili had looked for it that morning, but had no luck.
They watched the newscast and then they talked about the differences between an asteroid, meteor, meteorite, comet, and other planetary bodies. It was fantastic timing according to their teacher because they were presently in their space module. Fili had made a diorama of Pluto and its moon, Chiron, only two weeks before Pompey started making news. He had used purple and gray Play-Doh that had hardened into a rock when he left it out overnight. He had painted the box black and flicked silver paint into it to make stars. He had even painted a green and purple nebular in a corner and a small silver spaceship. Fili had begged his mother to buy him glow in the dark stars after they started the module. He had created his favorite constellations on his bedroom walls; Orion, Ursa Major, and Andromeda. They glowed dimly until their light faded long after he had fallen asleep.
Pompey was supposed to pass by. A “near miss” they said. But normally “near misses” were measured in hundreds of thousands of miles not passing between the Earth and the Moon.
Small fragments had been flashing through the night sky for days. Fili insisted on staying up until it was properly dark so he could see the falling stars through the rapidly de-leafing trees in the backyard. He and his mother sat on a picnic blanket covered in soft, fleece blankets watching the dark night sky. Kili had fallen asleep under his blanket before it even got properly dark.
He shared all he knew about “falling stars” with her, including that they were not really stars. When his mother had told him to make a wish on one of the flashes of light he told that rocks did not care about his wishes with all the imperiousness of an eight year old. His mother made a wish, but refused to tell him what she had wished for.
Fili remembered how the windows shook when the first fragment impacted.
The shockwave was felt more than 500 miles away.
The news played videos of the impact and the shockwave that devastated central Florida. All that Fili knew about Florida was what he had seen when they had gone there for vacation last winter—Disney World and the relentless ocean.
Tampa was gone.
The Epcot sphere was crushed and lying on its side.
The news coverage was endless. Constant videos provided by people who had been there or had traveled there simply to get the footage so they could have their 30 seconds of fame on the news.
Fili had nightmares of red fire and crumpled buildings for months afterwards. And they still returned to haunt him well into adulthood.
Kili did not remember any of that.
Kili remembered the car ride, but even then he was not sure if he actually remembered it or if he was just told of it so often that he thought that he remembered. He said he remembered it because it had been silent. There was no radio, no movies on their iPads, nothing. Just silence and endless hills, then endless cornfields rolling past.
-
Everyone in the family made fun of Nori and his “compound” in Middle-of-Nowhere, Nebraska.
But then Pompey came. And the whole family had ended up in Nori’s bunker (really a converted ICBM silo) to wait it out and hope. Both boys had problems remembering what ICBM stood for, and pronouncing it when they did—Intercontinental Ballistic Missile. A remnant of a war that no longer mattered between countries that no longer existed.
-
“Do you have everything you need?” Dis asked, eyes wide and frantic. She clutched a bag in her own hand.
Fili nodded. He had his backpack filled with the necessities.
“What about my Nintendo?” Kili asked, clutching the black plastic box to his chest.
Dis shook her head. “No. Pick a book. I don’t know if we’ll have electricity. I need you to have something you can actually use.”
“But I want my Nintendo!” Kili shouted.
Fili had slipped upstairs then to grab Kili’s favorite book and the stuffed otter from Kili’s bed.
“Fili!” The panic in his mother’s voice set Fili on edge. He nearly fell down the stairs in his haste. “What were you doing? Get in the car! We need to leave!”
-
That had been the last normal day.
-
Fili woke up. He ate his brightly colored cereal and then sat down in front of the television to watch cartoons. Kili joined him sometime later still dressed in his pajamas with a package of Pop-Tarts clutched in his fist. They watched cartoons in silence.
And then the screen turned red and an ear splitting noise emitted from it. Kili covered his ears and Fili flipped cushions onto the floor in his search for the remote to turn the volume down. But the remote did nothing. The painful, terrifying noise would not turn down. And the television would not turn off.
Kili was crying.
“What on earth—” Their mother was swearing when she came into the living room. Her hair was a mess and she was tying the belt of her robe. Then she froze.
Fili could read the alert, but it did not make sense to him. He did not know what a lot of the words meant.
Presidential probably had to do with the president, but evacuation? And what did shelter in place mean? He knew what the individual words meant, but as a phrase he was lost. He did recognize the name Pompey though. Had something happened to the meteor?
“Mom, what is it?” Fili asked. When she did not respond he said, “Mom. Mom. What is it? What’s happening?”
The noise stopped.
Kili tugged at her sleeve. “What happened to the cartoons? Put them back.”
“Shush!” She shouted. “Quiet!” She yelled when they did not shush themselves.
-
Two days later he saw his dad for the last time.
-
“I’ll meet you there.” He handed Kili over and ruffled Fili’s hair.
-
He did not meet them there.
They waited for him to return with his parents.
But after 12 hours their mother did as he had told her to do. She loaded Fili and Kili into the SUV and drove west, racing against the clock. They did not stop for more than a few minutes until they pulled into Nori’s compound.
Everyone else was already there. It would have felt festive with everyone together like the holidays if not for the sharp edge to the wind, their words, and their emotions.
-
And then the sky turned red.
The sky had been weird for days. Fili watched the flashes smear through the sky. It was almost pretty.
But the red was not pretty. It looked like fire. It reminded him of the news coverage of Tampa.
They were all rushed into the bunkers. Told to go to the lowest level, the safest level. Fili stayed by the door until it was closed. Waiting. Watching. Hoping. He refused to leave even when the door was closed. Thorin had to carry him, kicking and screaming, down into the silo and away from the surface.
He remembered how the earth shook.
The noise it made.
How everything went black.
And how the quakes kept happening.
-
There were other people out there; other people had survived Pompey the Planet Killer. There had been radio broadcasts in the beginning. They were mostly stories of chaos, death, murder, and greed. Their mother would turn the radio off and shoo Fili and Kili into a different room to “stretch their legs.” So they would run up and down the spiral staircase that ran all the way to the bottom of the silo and back. It was not much fun, but it was all they had.
They spent over a year in the bunker without opening the door; two Christmases, two of Kili’s birthdays, one of Fili’s.
-
And things were not the same when they did.
-
It was two years after they opened the door from the silo for the first time that they encountered Them.
-
“Is that them?” Kili asked, not lowering the binoculars and pointing.
Fili grabbed for the beat up binoculars. They had found them in the bottom of their dad’s bag. They were a treasured item that were wrapped in a sweatshirt whenever they took them out. When not in use Fili kept them in the back of his drawer. “Let me see.”
Kili reluctantly handed them over. “Just there,” he said, pointing even though Fili could not see his pointing.
“It looks like it.” Fili adjusted the focus. “What are they carrying?”
“A deer?” Kili offered. “They did take their guns and the bows that they got from those people over the river. Do you think Mom will let me have one for my birthday if I ask nicely?”
“Absolutely not,” Fili answered without hesitating. He fiddles with the focus some more and squints. “It doesn’t look like a deer.” Fili frowned. He handed the binoculars back over when Kili grabbed for them.
Kili started mumbling numbers.
“What are you doing?”
“Counting.”
“I know that. Why?”
“Didn’t seven of them go?” Kili lowered the binoculars and looked at Fili.
“Thorin, Dwalin, Gloin, Jackson, Oin, that new guy Bilbo, and Aron,” Fili listed off, “I think?”
“I only see six.”
Fili snatched the binoculars back. “One, two, three…”
“Maybe someone fell and hurt their leg?” Kili offered. “And is being carried?”
“I don’t see Dwalin,” Fili said as the group grew close enough for him to pick out which figure was who. “We should go down just in case they need help.”
Kili nodded and helped Fili pack up the binoculars, blanket, and the remnants of their snack. They descended from the tree-stand and made their way towards the silo so that they would intersect with Thorin’s party. The dry grass crunched beneath their feet. It had been several weeks since they had had a good long rain.
“Get inside! Now!” Thorin roared at them as soon as he was close enough to be heard.
Fili and Kili looked at one another. “Why?” Kili whispered.
Fili shrugged. “No idea.
“Come on,” he plucked at Kili’s shirt sleeve. “We better listen or else he’ll be even madder.”
“He looks mad enough already,” Kili grumbled.
-
Thorin was scared.
-
Thorin slammed the door and turned the handle for the big deadbolt to slide into place with an ominous metallic thud. Fili hated that noise. It always reminded him of that first time. When they had been locked in darkness for months, Fili never wanted to live through that again. This time felt as final as the first.
“Someone get the lights!” someone, Fili thought it was Gloin, shouted.
There was the metallic clanging, and a lot of swearing and grumbling before there was the staticy hum of electricity when the switch was flipped.
“How bad is it?” Thorin asked.
Fili and Kili shoved in behind him to see what it was that everyone was looking at.
“It’s nothing,” Dwalin growled.
“It is not!” Bilbo snapped. His hand looked comically small when he pushed on Dwalin’s shoulder to prevent him from getting up.
“What happened?” Kili asked anybody who would answer him.
No one answered.
Dwalin was propped up on his elbows. Beneath him was the triangle stretcher they used to haul supplies out into the wilderness and to haul their catch back to the silo. His face was pale, his shirt smeared with blood, and there was a bloody bandage made out of someone’s torn up t-shirt around his arm.
“Boys,” he growled when he saw them looking down at him. “You shouldn’t be here.”
“Let them stay,” Thorin said. “They’re old enough, and if we’re going to have to deal with those… those things from now on, they should know.”
Dwalin raised his eyebrows in surprise.
“What was it?” Fili asked.
“Not now,” Thorin said. “Let’s get him down to one of the lower levels,” he said to the other men.
Fili and Kili trailed along behind as Dwalin half-walked, was half-carried down to the living quarters.
The silo always smelled faintly of metal and rust, but it was stronger now with Dwalin’s blood added to the mix. The metal stairs clanged and echoed beneath their impatient feet.
“What do you think happened?” Kili asked Fili as they walked behind the adults.
Fili shrugged. “I’m sure they’ll tell us. You heard Uncle Thorin.”
“Do you think it was a wolf?” Kili asked excitedly, “Or a polar bear?”
“Polar bears aren’t this far south. And Uncle Thorin knows what wolves are. He’s told us about seeing them before. Why would he say ‘thing’ this time?”
Kili jumped the last few steps, “Maybe it was a mutant wolf!”
The crowd around Dwalin was thicker now, but thinned as parents took their children into the private living spaces.
Oin was issuing orders to whoever would listen. “Hot water, clean cloth, any antibiotics that we have left…”
“I don’t know if antibiotics will work against anything that that thing was carrying,” Dwalin grumbled.
Kili settled down by Dwalin’s head. “Was it a mutant wolf, Mr. Dwalin?” Kili asked from his cross-legged position.
Dwalin twisted to look at Kili. “No, lad. It wasn’t a wolf.” Then he looked to Thorin, who gave a quick nod. Dwalin sighed. “It wasn’t an animal at all.”
Fili was holding the bowl of “hot” water that his mother had given him with the instructions to do as Oin or Bilbo ordered. “What was it then?” Fili carefully lowered himself to his knees and set the bowl on the floor in front of his knees.
Dwalin looked at Thorin again. He licked his lips, but before he could speak Oin started pulling away the dirty t-shirt bandage.
“Fuck!” Dwalin swore. “That hurts!”
“Not in front of my children,” their mother tapped him firmly on the top of the head.
“They swear plenty without Dwalin’s help,” Gloin offered with a grin.
“And that’s his fault.”
“Can’t help it,” Dwalin said tightly.
Fili leaned forward to get a closer look at the marks that were revealed when Oin pulled away the last of the bandage. “Are those animal teeth?” he asked, even though he thought he already knew the answer.
“Depends on what you call an animal,” Dwalin growled. “It certainly looked human.” He winced as Oin started cleaning the wound. “But it didn’t act like a person.”
“Did it walk on all four legs like a dog?” Kili asked.
“No,” Thorin said. “It didn’t. It walked just like you or I.”
“We would have known something was wrong if it had walked on all fours like a beast,” said Dwalin. Dwalin flinched. “Careful with that! I’d like to keep my arm!”
“You’re more likely to lose it if I don’t clean it,” Oin snapped. “Now quit whining.”
“Who was it? Was it the people that gave us the bows?” asked Fili.
“It better not be,” Thorin gritted out. “There’s more of them than us so we’d be well and truly fucked if it is them.”
“Language!” Dis scolded.
Fili looked expectantly at Thorin, who was rubbing his face roughly. He looked older than Fili remembered. All of the adults aged dramatically after the Planet Killer’s impact. Their mother had seemed to sprout gray and silver hair overnight.
Thorin pulled a chair close and sat down heavily. The rest of the party was standing close, shuffling their feet, and whispering amongst themselves and more were joining from elsewhere in the silo as word spread that something had happened, an attack, and that someone had been injured. Loved ones came in with frantic looks in their eyes until they spotted their family, friends, or lover. Then relief ran over them like the sun coming out after a storm.
“I don’t know what it was,” Thorin finally said. His normally warm skin was ashen. Everyone was watching him.
Waiting.
“The only word I can think of to describe it is…” Thorin took a deep breath and looked around the room at all of the anxious faces watching him, people who looked to him as their leader even though he had never volunteered for the position, it had just happened. “Vampire.”
“Vampires aren’t real,” Kili pipped in.
“They’re only stories in books,” another child added.
Thorin shrugged helplessly. “It looked human. It spoke to us. But when it was close enough…” he gestured to Dwalin who was currently gritting his teeth while Oin stitched the wound with hemp thread. They were trying to locate a book that would tell them how to make catgut (a thread made from finely woven sheep intestines) for stitches. “It did that. It bit Dwalin. It moved so fast.”
Fili looked sharply away from Dwalin to Thorin at the despair in Thorin’s voice.
“And then we just stood there, frozen. Like cowards—”
Someone tried to interrupt then, but Thorin spoke over them.
“It was only Bilbo that did anything. He buried that little knife of his in the thing’s head. That seemed to wake us all up. We managed to get it off of Dwalin. It had a few arrows sticking out of its body by the end, but it did not stop coming until I used my ax. It only stopped trying when it no longer had a head.” Thorin shivered in distaste. “It had fangs. It’s teeth were like a wolf’s, with those long teeth.” Thorin indicated length with his hands.
No one spoke.
-
Fili did not see one of Them, as they had taken to calling the creatures—Vampire was too laden with old horror stories—for several years. He and Kili were kept close and were rarely allowed outside without an adult present even if they were just going to be weeding the ever expanding garden. It was the same for all of the children.
They all learned not to trust.
They longer visited their neighbors who had given them the bows. Their leader Thranduil refused to listen to Thorin and his stories about vampires. And then one of Thranduil’s men had been killed by Aron’s son who had assumed that the human shape had been one of Them.
Any one of them could have easily done the same.
More than once Fili had hesitated too long. He had received his own stitches at Oin’s now expert hand. And there were other times that his fingers twitched on his ax, fear making him want to strike out. He had been breathes away from killing someone who was just as human as he was.
-
“Kili!” Fili shouted when he saw his brother walking up the long overgrown gravel path.
Kili raised the hand not carrying the duffle bag in greeting and grinned.
Fili slid his ax into metal rings on the frog that hung from his belt. “You were gone a long time this time,” he said when Kili got close enough that they did not need to shout to be heard.
Kili shrugged. “It took longer than normal.”
“What did you find?”
Kili set the duffle bag on the ground. Fili could see by how the worn leather sagged and folded that it was not even close to being full.
“Better than nothing,” Fili said stoically.
Kili pressed his lips into a thin line. “I wish I had found more.”
Fili squeezed Kili’s shoulder comfortingly. “Did you encounter any of Them?” Fili’s voice was barely above a whisper. But still a rush of wind came up and made them both shiver despite their layers and the warmth of their bodies. Fili looked over his shoulder. The dense pine forest was a comfort, but also a source of anxiety for all of them. It provided wood, shelter, cover, but it provided Them with the same things. They could sneak up on a person with barely a noise on the soft piles of needles.
Fili fought back the shiver of fear that ran up his spine. They had never been seen this close to the compound before. But Fili still looked over his shoulder. But all he saw were the bare trunks of pine trees, needleless branches, bare earth, and the breeze scented with pine and snow. They were all surprised that it had not snowed more by this point. They usually had at least several inches by the start of the holidays. And they were nervous; worried that less snow now meant more snow later, or that the snow would stick around well into May or even June.
Kili shook his head. “I didn’t even see any signs. Nobody has seen one in almost two years. Maybe They have moved on?”
“Probably too much to hope for,” Fili said darkly. “Come on, let’s get back. Mom’s been waiting for you. I’m pretty sure she would make the rest of us wait for our holidays until you made it back.”
“She could try,” Kili laughed. “But I think Gimli and the rest of the kids would have something to say about that.”
“She would withhold whatever sweets she has managed to conjure up.”
“That might do it.” Kili laughed and all of Fili’s apprehension slipped away. Things were always better when they were together.
-
The holidays were not postponed.
A tree had been erected in one of the common rooms and it had been decorated with whatever ornaments the children had made or had been found over the years. Handprints of the now-teenagers featured prominently. But there were also chains of construction paper that Fili remembered making during that first long year. They had wound the garland along the railing in an attempt to make the space feel festive. It had not worked particularly well. There had been no gifts, no feast other than the same canned food that they always ate. But now there was an actual tree, actual ornaments, candles, and electricity provided by the solar panels that had just been installed.
There had been music that first year. And there was music now. Many people had brought their instruments with them and the long hours gave them giant swaths of freetime when they could practice. They had very little sheet music though, so the carols were never quite right, but the spirit was there. And that warmed everyone.
There was plenty of food now, vegetables from the garden in the compound, and an elk that Thorin and Dwalin had brought in the week earlier.
Tonight they drank and ate.
Tomorrow things will go back to the new normal. They will go back to watching for Them. But they will not talk about Them or the other things that have changed since the Planet Killer. This was just how things were. There were things in the woods, Them, that were not there before, and they may never understand what They are or how They came to be—had they always been there or at the Planet Killer created them—but tonight that did not matter. Tonight they are warm, safe, and happy together. And once they have all drank too much they will talk about those that they have lost. Most of them were lost to the Planet Killer, but some were lost after that to Them or to illness and accident.
Fili wrapped his arm around Kili’s shoulders and gave him a firm squeeze. They both grinned and watched the kids play while the adults laughed and talked and smiled and played music just like they had before everything changed.

hi tina 💞 not sure how easy this is, since my astrophysics knowledge is nearing -273 *C, but you could do mutuals as astronomical sights? comets, planets, galaxies etc... sorry if not!! 💖✨
Tumblr media
anna! and anon! you’ve given me a wonderful chance to ramble about space. you may come to regret it, however...
if i’ve forgotten you, please do not take it personally! i didn’t mean to. my mind is just but a glorified puddle :)
Tumblr media
@archaicmusings — vega
vega is the brightest star in the constellation lyra, and happens to be my favourite star. don’t ask me why vega is my favourite star, or why lyra is my favourite constellation, because i haven’t got a coherent answer for you. i’ve just always been drawn to them. a bit like cal, really. i feel like we’ve known each other for far longer than just four months, and she’s so lovely that i’m fairly sure i could say anything to her and she’d just accept me for whatever rubbish i’m rambling about this time. and, in the depressing year that’s been 2020, cal has been a bright star.
Tumblr media
@drivenbybri — halley’s comet
honestly, is there anything more iconic than halley’s comet? there can’t be much. probably the best known comet of all time, halley’s comet is a short-period comet (and if you’ve read starstruck, you know how much i prefer short-period comets to those long-period comets with their damned 200-year perihelions, even if certain people suggest that this makes them quite special), meaning that it is visible from earth every 75-ish years. halley’s comet last made an appearance in the lovely year of 1986, and will thus appear next in 2061 (i’m so excited for my 59-year-old self!!!). halley’s comet, though well-known, is still a rare breed, so to speak. it is rare, and extraordinarily beautiful that a comet appears to a human twice within their lifetime. sofie is rare, just like halley’s comet, and equally beautiful, both in heart and with that lovely curly hair of hers. i’m honoured to know her, just as i shall be honoured to see halley’s comet one day.
Tumblr media
@brianmays-hair — cassiopeia a
cassiopeia a (or rather, the remnant of cassiopeia a) was a supernova within the constellation of cassiopeia. for those of you who do not obsess over interstellar matter the way that i do, supernovae are explosions of massive stars, or white dwarfs drawn to nuclear fusion, within their final stages of life. not much is known about how these explosions necessarily take place, and nasa has only caught on video one such explosion, back in 2016. the most commonly presented image of the remnant of cassiopeia a is a false-colour image, composed with three different wavebands of light. it is, as you can see, very beautiful. supernovae radiate energy and light throughout the cosmos during their existence, and thus having a great effect on the space surrounding them. i therefore liken jess to cassiopeia a because she has a brilliant personality, vibrant and inspiring, which comes across especially in her writing. but of course, the beauty of cassiopeia a has nothing on her.
Tumblr media
@deacyblues — sirius
as far as we humans and the scientists among us know, sirius is the brightest star in the observable universe. housed within the constellation of canis major, sirius has always been monumentally important in terms of navigation, since ancient times. i tell pearl this all the time, but truly, i mean it; her outlook on life is inspiring, how she never fails to be positive even in times of great trouble. like sirius, pearl is a light, ever-present within the mindset of living for today, ever-determined, and unfailingly kind.
Tumblr media
@joemazzmatazz — black hole
please let me explain before this gets taken the wrong way: I LOVE BLACK HOLES. i specifically want to study black holes, whenever i get the chance to specialise within astrophysics. they fascinate me to no end, with a kind of allure that only the mysterious can hold. furthermore, black holes may be the key to understanding the universe; if we understand black holes, we will be able to make headway on other matter, such as dark matter, and dark energy, the latter of which makes up the majority of the observable universe, and will lead us to astronomical (if you’ll pardon the ill-worded expression, and the unintentional pun) conclusions concerning both the beginning of our universe, and the eventual end. regan, just like a black hole, is a wealth of information, especially concerning the knowledge she harbours about disney, and the business management sector of it. it’s quite truly inspirational.
Tumblr media
@im-an-adult-ish — the milky way
ah yes, the milky way. home to all of us. and that is the essence of my explanation here. meredith has such a friendly way about her, and she’s the kind of person you can easily turn to and feel welcomed. a bit like our little corner of the universe <3
Tumblr media
@almightygwil — the sun
i think this is probably self-explanatory, if a bit repetitive, but ellie is a ray of sunshine. but perhaps that sells her a little short, because ellie is just so genuinely lovely that she must herself be the sun. her writing talent astounds me (you could say it blinds me, ha ha), and she never fails to be somehow both sweet and very chaotic at the same time. it’s very admirable (and certainly relatable, on the chaotic front). the sun itself, if we think about the surface and the fusion that takes place there, is both the sweetest sight ever seen, and quite chaotic, so i think it fitting that ellie is the sun.
Tumblr media
@hijackmy-heart — callisto
callisto is one of jupiter’s moons, and my favourite, because it looks like a piece of the night sky decided to curl up into a ball. i don’t know nat too well, but i know that she’s gorgeous, like callisto, and loves roger taylor. let me explain. jupiter, in roman mythology, is the god of the sky and of thunder. in norse mythology, thor is the equivalent of jupiter, and to me, roger has always had a bit of that typical scandinavian look going, with the blonde hair and blue eyes (not to say that all scandis look like this, but he fits the stereotype :)). nat loves roger, and callisto orbits jupiter, so there you have it.
Tumblr media
@six-bloodyminutes — the moon
the moon has a serenity about it, and mo has a knack for telling quite wild things with a most casual air. for instance, according to my sources, when a certain dorm room caught fire (?). mo thus bears this serenity, akin to the serenity i associate with the moon, with equal grace and chaos.
Tumblr media
@dancingdiscofloof — pluto
pluto! the not-planet-oh-wait-maybe-it’s-a-planet-jk-jk-unless..? i still think that pluto should be considered a planet, despite the many arguments against the poor sod. pluto was once a planet, and should therefore have remained a planet, for the plain and simple fact that taking away its planethood was like giving a person a present, and then taking it back immediately afterward. anyway. i’m rambling. i also do not know rove very well, but i know that she’s kind, and, judging by the memes she shares, both of ryan gosling and tom hanks, that she is quirky— a bit like our beloved pluto.
Tumblr media
@imcompletelylost — aurora borealis/aurora australis
also known as the northern lights/the southern lights, the polar lights, the merry dancers, the fox fires, or swarms of luminous herring (you can thank my ancestors, followers of norse mythology, for that one), the aurora is an astronomical phenomenon precipitated by the complete ring of light surrounding the poles, “which at its brightest has a distinctively green tint” (may, brian, et al. the cosmic tourist. carlton books, 2016.). yes i just made a citation from one of brian’s books. don’t worry about it. anyway, particles emitted from our sun are caught by the magnetic fields of earth’s poles, and thus produce this ethereal effect. but you know what the aurora has always reminded me of? disco lights. and libby is noting if not the queen of disco. oh, and, libby’s makeup talents? the aurora could never.
Tumblr media
@aprilaady — butterfly nebula
the butterfly nebula is incredibly beautiful. but also, depending on from which angle it is beheld, it looks quite different. dor will surprise you, in the loveliest way possible (and sometimes the funniest) with a kind word or a joke, or even just a relatable comment. she has so many talents, being rivetingly smart within so many fields, especially the sciences, and in this, conveys multitudes, like the butterfly nebula. one might say her soul is painted like the wings of butterflies...
Tumblr media
@doing-albri — solar eclipse
the alignment of the sun, moon, and earth. difficult to see, especially in totality, if you continually live in the same place. but there’s something magical in that alignment, i think. something quite poetic. it’s partially in the name ‘eclipse’ and partially in the nickname— a “ring of fire.” i saw the solar eclipse in august of 2018, and looking up at it, i was quite awestruck. you’re not supposed to stare directly at solar eclipses, because despite the moon overshadowing the sun, you can still damage your eyes significantly by looking at them. vi is so bright, both in her attitude and in her intelligence, and thus i’ve chosen the solar eclipse for her. also, when a solar eclipse occurs, using a piece of cardboard with a hole (or generally any thick-radius circular object with an opening), you can recreate the phenomenon on another surface, resulting in beautiful patterns and light-art, which i think speaks to vi’s eye for aesthetics.
Tumblr media
@imalososos — meteor shower
meteor showers are perhaps some of the most beautiful phenomena i have ever seen. back in the summer of 2016, i stayed up all night to watch the perseids rush across the sky, and i was not disappointed, by any means. within the early hours of the 12th of august, an estimated 80 meteors darted across the heavens each hour. meteors, in essence, are clusters of mineral, usually debris from comets, which enter the atmosphere of a planet, and thus seem to shoot across the sky. now, you may be wondering, what’s the bloody blooming difference between meteoroids, meteors, and meteorites, and why are we talking about meteors in particular? well, meteoroids are cosmic debris that have not yet entered an atmosphere; as soon as a piece of cosmic debris enters a planet’s atmosphere, it is classified as a meteor. as for meteorites, nothing is a meteorite unless it strikes the ground. anyway. you didn’t come here for my science ramblings. meteors are also called ‘shooting stars,’ and let’s be honest, they’re space’s idea of art. streaks of light across the sky? sounds like a painting to me, and darya, among many other things, is an artist— and a brilliant one, at that. so i think it very fitting to describe her as the art of the universe <3
Tumblr media
@mazzell-ro — saturn
i! love! saturn!!! being the only planet in our solar system with highly visible rings, it just stands out to me. it’s absolutely gorgeous, and an object of much inspiration to me, when i was little and decided that space was absolutely something i wanted to see. i could write an eight-verse song about saturn, i love it so much, and honestly, i think ro could write one too; she’s an excellent musician. but aside from its lovely rings, saturn is unique because its composition, in the ratio of its gases, would allow the planet to float in water. ro is uniquely wonderful, and her writing!!!!!!!! makes me so soft and happy and makes me want to give her the word. quite how i feel when i look up at saturn.
Tumblr media
@mistiermistshazierdays — zodiacal light
you may recognise this term as brian’s speciality from when he was studying astrophysics. but what is it? zodiacal light is that strange triangle of light that appears glowing in the sky after twilight and before dawn, and is the subject of much earth-based astrophotography. extraordinarily beautiful, scientists are still not entirely sure what the phenomenon is, but most research and practical experiments are in favour of zodiacal light being sunlight reflected off of cosmic dust (also known as stardust!). now, if my knowledge of ancient greece and its mythology serves me, the name phoebe comes from phoebus, and (thank you google) means ‘bright.’ zodical light… bright… phoebe… you might say it’s a match made in the heavens. quite literally if we’re talking space. phoebe, you kind soul, you are stardust.
Tumblr media
@speciallyred — andromeda galaxy
and last, but certainly not least, dear anna. i name thee the andromeda galaxy, partially for your own name, and partially for its poetic beauty. andromeda, the neighbour galaxy of our deal ol’ milky way, is actually about 2.5 million lightyears (15 trillion miles, 22.5 trillion km) away from us, here on earth. call me vain for the number of times i’ve described the beauty of space throughout this rather extended exposition, but andromeda is startlingly beautiful. one reason for this objective beauty is that andromeda is estimated to be home to roughly double the number of stars within our own galaxy. anna is one of the most talented poets i have ever come across, hands down, and what be the food of poetry, if not the stars?

Guess what, all the questions please and thank you
Revenge like this. Hahah And don’t feel so bad. It’s a much needed distraction right now, so thank you.
Planets
Mercury: What’s your full name?
Jaeyoung Park. Holy fuck I almost typed my old last name...Fuck me.
Venus: What’s your first language?

Earth: Where’s your home?
It’s always going to be Helsinki, though right now my home is Yokohama.
Mars: What’s your sexuality?
Like...90% straight. I’ve never had experiences with another woman to say for certain with confidence that I’m not into them.
Jupiter: Do you have any siblings?
Not that I KNOW of. But the possibility exists.
Saturn: Any pets?
My outdoor kitty. He’s an orange butterball and so adorable and sweet.

History.
Hercules: Favourite instrument?
Guitar.
Gemini: Favourite song?
...I don’t even know anymore.
Pegasus: Favourite place to be?
Surrounded by snow. Hopefully in an igloo that I’ve helped build. Though I guess if I need to be specific, Northern Finland. As close to the arctic circle as I can survive.
Libra: Favourite colour?
Pink!
Phoenix: Favourite thing to wear?
My really old ass band shirts that are practically family heirlooms. Hahah Seriously, I think some of them were old when my mom first got them.
Aries: Favourite movie?
The Shining comes to mind, but there’s a few movies I really like. I’m just not going to spend forever dwelling on it right now. Hahah
Cygnus: Favourite weather?
SNOW!!!!!!!! Or when it’s really cold and raining.
Hydra: Favourite sound?
My lover’s heartbeat.
Galaxies
Milky Way: Who’s your oldest friend?
Jussi. He and I practically grew up together.
Andromeda: Do you consider yourself social?
Not as much anymore.
Black Eye Galaxy: Do you believe in love at first sight?
Not at first sight, but first conversation is definitely possible.
Cartwheel Galaxy: When was your first kiss?
I don’t know. I really don’t.
Cigar Galaxy: How’s your flirting skills?
Fucking shit. I rely on my body when I try to flirt, honestly. It’s the advantage of boobs and a good bra.
Comet Galaxy: Have you ever had to leave a relationship because someone changed too much?
Yes. And I endured much more than I ever should have, and ever will again.
Pinwheel Galaxy: Would you date the last person you talked to?
No. It seems like we’re both happily taken, so yeah.
Sombrero Galaxy: Do you have a crush right now?
On my boyfriend.
Bode’s Galaxy: Have you ever had a secret admirer?
Not that I know of.
Sunflower Galaxy: Would you date/make friends with someone out of pity?
No. That’s just fucked up to do if you don’t intend on establishing an actual connection to create at least a genuine friendship.
Tadpole Galaxy: Would you deny a relationship/friendship?
I would, if there were good reasons.
Whirlpool Galaxy: Have you ever cried over a breakup?
Oh of course. I’m an all or nothing kind of person, and so it hurts deeply.
Other Stuff
Comet: What’s your big dream?
To be a wonderful wife and mother.
Asteroid: What does your dream life look like?
Me and Gordon and Aleksi, and hopefully another child or two. I focus more on having my family than what I’m actually doing as a whole.
Meteor: What’s something you wish you could tell, but can’t?
WELL. What makes you think I’m going to tell here?!
Nebula: If you could undo one thing in your life, what would it be?
This is similar to another question, and it’s the same answer. I wouldn’t undo anything, because it all led me here. The good and the bad.
Shooting Star: If you could bring back one thing, what would it be?
My mother.
Pulsar: What do you hope to do in the next 10 years?
Have another child, learn another language, and maybe finally get a degree in history like I keep talking about.
Supernova: What’s one thing you want to do before you die?
There’s a lot. I wanna eat Fugu, but that’s quite realistic. I mean, I guess everything is somehow realistic? I wanna meet Nikki Sixx. I also want to learn the drums.
Quasar: If you could spend the rest of your life with only one person, who would it be?
If it has to be literal, to the question, Aleksi. If it’s like more figurative, Gordon.
Wormhole: What’s something you wish would happen, but know won’t?
My mom walking through my front door.
Black Hole: What’s the last thing you want to see?
...I’m a little confused. I guess, if we mean the dread and fear sense, my ex husband. If like ‘oh you’re dying’, then my son.

Mercury: What’s your full name? >> Probably shouldn’t just put that here, despite the fact that I do have my full name displayed elsewhere on the internet. Mordred’s fine.
Venus: What’s your first language? >> R’lyehian English.
Earth: Where’s your home? >> It is a foundational aspect of my existence that I do not and will not have one.
Mars: What’s your sexuality? >> Nonhumansexual. (Yes, I’m being partially facetious. But only partially.)
Jupiter: Do you have any siblings? >> No.
Saturn: Any pets? >> There’s a cat. I don’t necessarily consider him “mine” because I’m not a pet person, but he’s part of the household.

Moon: What are you currently studying/hope to study? >> ---
Sun: Have you ever had alcohol? >> I’ve had a lot of alcohol.
Sirius: Have you ever failed a class? >> Not to my recollection, but I have gotten zero credit for a class, which is worse than failing to me because I don’t even get credit for having taken the class at all.

Deneb: Have you ever been out of your home country? >> No.
Arcturus: Have you cried out of something other than sadness? >> Yes.

Andromeda: Do you consider yourself social? >> Not especially. I’m pretty reliable with surface social interactions (if I’m not otherwise overwhelmed), but anything deeper than that can be... rough.
Black Eye Galaxy: Do you believe in love at first sight? >> I don’t care enough about it to have a belief. It isn’t a concept that applies to me, so I have no reason to think about it.
Cartwheel Galaxy: When was your first kiss? >> ---

Comet Galaxy: Have you ever had to leave a relationship because someone changed too much? >> No.

Sombrero Galaxy: Do you have a crush right now? >> No.
Bode’s Galaxy: Have you ever had a secret admirer? >> How would I know? It’s a secret, innit?

Saturn: Any pets? Yep. I have a soon to be 3 year old German Shepherd/Lab mix named Princess Leia. <3
Uranus: What’s your hobby? Tumblr, surveys, YouTube, watching TV, reading, and coloring.
Neptune: When’s your birthday? July 28th.
Pluto: What time is it right now where you are? 12:03AM.
Moon: What are you currently studying/hope to study? I majored in and got my BA in psych. That was 5 years ago now and I haven’t done a damn thing.
Sun: Have you ever had alcohol? Yeah. I used to drink in my early 20s, but I was over it near my mid 20s. It’s been 7 years since the last time I had any alcohol.
Sirius: Have you ever failed a class? I did have to retake a math course once in community college. I truly blame the professor, though. She was horrible and a bitch. Like, I’m horrible at math, but it’s kinda funny how I did fine and managed to pass the next time I took it with a different teacher. It does make a difference. That was the only time I failed a course, too. Sooo.
Rigel: Have you ever gone on a rollercoaster? I had a horrific experience when I was younger and was like yeah nope, this ain’t for me.
Deneb: Have you ever been out of your home country? Once.
Arcturus: Have you cried out of something other than sadness? Yeah, I cry out of frustration, irritableness, and anger.
Betelgeuse: What’s something you can never forget about? Uh, a lot of things.

Delphinus: Favourite study? Psychology.
Hercules: Favourite instrument? Piano.
Gemini: Favourite song? I have too many of those as well.
Pegasus: Favourite place to be? My bed or the beach.
Libra: Favourite colour? Pastels, rose gold, coral, mint green, and yellow.
Phoenix: Favourite thing to wear? Leggings and oversized graphic tees. Long sleeves and hoodies in the cold months.
Aries: Favourite movie? You know I have a hard time choosing favorites of most things by now.

Milky Way: Who’s your oldest friend? I don’t have any friends.

Black Eye Galaxy: Do you believe in love at first sight? Nope. That’s lust, old sport.
Cartwheel Galaxy: When was your first kiss? I was 16.

Comet Galaxy: Have you ever had to leave a relationship because someone changed too much? Uh, not quite. I have drifted apart from friends for that reason, though.
Pinwheel Galaxy: Would you date the last person you talked to? Uh, absolutely not. He’s my younger brother.
Sombrero Galaxy: Do you have a crush right now? Nope.
Bode’s Galaxy: Have you ever had a secret admirer? No. Well, unless they just remained a secret and never told me. ha. I highly doubt that, though.
Sunflower Galaxy: Would you date/make friends with someone out of pity? I most definitely wouldn’t date someone for that reason. That’s really shitty and unfair to do to them and to yourself. As for friends, this question gets kind of tricky cause like... if someone is feeling sad and could use a friend or something I would like to think I would offer that (well, old me probably would have anyway. Not closed off, distant, really messed up me). Out of pity sounds messed up, though? I don’t know, man.
Tadpole Galaxy: Would you deny a relationship/friendship? What do you mean by “deny”? Like reject someone’s offer to date or be friends, or deny that I’m friends/dating someone? I definitely wouldn’t deny or hide whoever I’m friends with or dating. That’s really messed up and hurtful. That sounds like you’re embarrassed of them.
Whirlpool Galaxy: Have you ever cried over a breakup? Yeppp.
Comet: What’s your big dream? >> I don’t have one of those. <<< :/
Asteroid: What does your dream life look like? I would have better health and I was a functioning adult. That’d be pretty great.
Meteor: What’s something you wish you could tell, but can’t? Hmm.
Nebula: If you could undo one thing in your life, what would it be? There’s so many things to choose from, though...
Shooting Star: If you could bring back one thing, what would it be? My motivation? Willpower?
Pulsar: What do you hope to do in the next 10 years? I gotta take it one day at a time.
Supernova: What’s one thing you want to do before you die? Live.
Quasar: If you could spend the rest of your life with only one person, who would it be? I don’t know in the romantic sense. I haven’t met that person. I feel like I likely never will.
Wormhole: What’s something you wish would happen, but know won’t? Tomorrow I’ll magically be healthy, well rested, and good to go.
Black Hole: What’s the last thing you want to see? Before I die? My loved ones.

Comet: What’s your big dream? To work in a high security prison, studying the minds of the most messed up criminals possible. Asteroid: What does your dream life look like? A cabin somewhere in Colorado, with a view of the mountains and a pond out front. I’d have my 1976 Corvette Stingray, finally, and all of the pets my heart desired. I’d also have a personal library in said cabin to hold all of my books. 😂Meteor: What’s something you wish you could tell, but can’t? Nothing. Nebula: If you could undo one thing in your life, what would it be? I guess nothing. It’s all gotten me to where I am. Shooting Star: If you could bring back one thing, what would it be?Sarah Ruth. She was too young. Pulsar: What do you hope to do in the next 10 years?Achieve my dream of working in that prison 😂 Supernova: What’s one thing you want to do before you die? Go to Ireland. Quasar: If you could spend the rest of your life with only one person, who would it be? That’s a hard question. I’d have to think about it.Wormhole: What’s something you wish would happen, but know won’t? That I’d magically meet Dacre Montgomery and he’d become absolutely smitten with me. 😂Black Hole: What’s the last thing you want to see? I have no clue. The last thing I want to see, like, ever? Like before I die? That’s a hard question. Lol.
