Saw it today and may’ve cut off the blood supply of two of my friends when squeezing their hands ( @olli-is-a-fish )

It was… it did not destroy my childhood.

That’s not to say there weren’t disappointments but, overall, beautiful ♥️

Disappointments:

Where was Hiccup’s faint after being deafened by an angry toothless?!?!?

Gobber… he wasn’t Gobber enough, yk

The terrible terror scene… enough said

They made Toothless cuter and gentler which I fully love but I loved him being powerful and aggressive - he is the unholy offspring of lightning and death

“The upside are the pets”… “pets”. Not sure what could’ve been in its place but I am irritated by it. “Other islanders”, “companions”?!?! Just not “pets”

Beautiful Moments:

ASTRID!!!! SHE WAS THE PERFECT ASTRID!!! IDC WHAT PEOPLE SAY, I LOVE HER!!!!! And I loved the added depth to her character.

Hiccup. Beautiful. Beautifully cast. Loved him!!!

Snotlout. Can we appreciate his relationship with Spitelout actually being explored in this film?!?! I thought it was an amazing touch! Snotlout was hilarious, I actually loved him.

Fishlegs!!!!! Absolute icon!!!! Loved him, he stole the show!!!

The twins, perfect casting. Maybe not as insane as they could’ve been but the actors did incredibly!!

“Nice name, Hiccup” “Your name is literally Snotlout” can we appreciate that Hiccup sass?

Astrid yelling at Hiccup in the great hall and him falling slightly backwards was a beautiful touch, loved it!

Hiccup feigning confidence when flirting with Astrid made him such a dork, loved that.

The first meeting, forbidden friendship scene, the romantic flight, the nest, Hiccup waking up, the kiss - all exquisite, no complaints 😊😊

Hiccup’s sass overall was basically spot on and the new lines were iconic.

Hiccup and Stoik’s relationship. I loved they brought back Gerard Butler!

So, yeah.

My childhood was not destroyed in those two hours.
