Binnen de gebiedsontwikkeling Schalkwijk Centrum is op 28 november de bouw van nieuwbouwproject HIGH5 gestart. Deze ontwikkeling van HBB Groep en Hoorne Vastgoed bestaat uit vijf gebouwen en biedt ruimte aan 569 appartementen. De bouw start met woongebouw Los Angeles en wordt gevolgd door gebouw San Francisco. De percussieband zorgde voor een spetterend feest op de bouwplaats. De 114 sociale huurwoningen in het Los Angeles gebouw worden verhuurd door woningcorporatie Elan Wonen. Bijna alle toekomstige bewoners van de koopwoningen in gebouw San Francisco waren aanwezig. Zij maakten graag gebruik van de gelegenheid om kennis te maken met hun nieuwe buren en samen feestelijk het glas te heffen. Onder spanningsroffels van de percussionisten, schepten wethouder Floor Roduner samen met een toekomstige bewoner het eerste schepje zand in de betonmolen om de start van de bouw officieel in te luiden. "Schalkwijk is een levendig, divers stadsdeel waar alles aanwezig is om fijn te wonen. We zijn goed op weg om hier een gevarieerd en kwalitatief goed aanbod aan nieuwe woningen bij te bouwen. En daarnaast te zorgen voor een goed ingerichte openbare ruimte, en winkels en andere voorzieningen die bij deze tijd passen," aldus de wethouder Floor Roduner. Realisatie HIGH5 is ontworpen door LEVS Architecten en ontwikkeld door Hoorne Vastgoed en HBB Groep. HBB Groep zal naast de ontwikkeling ook het project realiseren. De oude gebouwen zijn in het najaar op de schop gegaan en SportCity is naar een tijdelijk nieuw onderkomen verhuisd. Het bouwterrein is inmiddels bouwrijp gemaakt en onlangs is de heistelling op de locatie opgebouwd. Naar verwachting worden de eerste woningen opgeleverd in de eerste helft van 2027. HIGH5, heerlijk wonen in stadse dynamiek HIGH5 is onderdeel van de stedelijke vernieuwing van Schalkwijk Centrum, waar wonen, winkelen, bedrijvigheid, cultuur en maatschappelijke voorzieningen samenkomen. De ontwikkelcombinatie HBB Groep/Hoorne Vastgoed gaat aan het water en aan het Californiëplein in totaal 569 koop- en huurappartementen realiseren, evenals een parkeergarage en commerciële bedrijfsruimten. Het project wordt gekenmerkt door vijf gebouwen met hoogtes variërend van 22 tot 75 meter waarin stedelijke dynamiek en een parkachtige sfeer hand in hand gaan.

Yeah, I'm snarky but I think this is kind of about what you understand as science fiction and what as fantasy, because the difference is NOT the aesthetics. Star Wars is more fantasy in space than science fiction, because there are things defying laws of physics (the force is basically magic) rather than pushing what we know to its technological and theoretical extremes. So far Goblins, the Bogeyman and gods-for-lack-of-a-better-word are bound by very logical simple rules... the only thing is that those are rules of social facts. Yes, storytelling, games and music aren't of a kind with chemical elements, but you can't say they don't exist?

Like, if you want to have actual reasons to worry about DW's sf alignment then look at everyone's favourite dead horse to beat that is Kill the Moon and the idea that it would be evolutionarily stable to lay eggs on planetary orbits. First off, how tf do you breathe, space dragon?
