after which frendship magic is happening and Sunny pulls magic back for real

and learns Hitch's reason why

Turns out Hitch is a decendent of Flattershy and Discords bloodline of half-draconequusf and the only reason he looked as pony was that there were no magic to bring chaotic part of him - and he was aware of that, as his whole family was for generations.

all of them afraid of being banished because of how pony treated their differences in this era, desperately raising each one of them with a strict throught that harmony, order and protection is above anything - and most importantly no magic and no chaos

Flutterjack is slowly becoming my other ship obsession besides raritwi, fluttercord, and rarishy. Like- ahh- too many good ships. Also twishy. Here's some headcanons things for them.

Flutterjack where Applejack is head over heels and terrible at keeping it hidden so she just avoids Fluttershy until finally Fluttershy follows her out of a party into the woods and Applejack just angrily confesses.

Raritwi where Twilight proposes to Rarity at her coronation after careful planning and Rarity expresses she wants a very public proposal.

Fluttercord where Fluttershy keeps working up the courage to confess and does on multiple occasions but Discord has no idea what she means so it takes a hundred tries for it to click.

Rarishy where Fluttershy sends her bear to walk Rarity home when it's dark out because the walk back from the cottage must be frightening so late at night. Rarity insists that she's not afraid at all.

Twishy where the mane six keep trying to drop hints to each of them that they're both in love with one another and they should just kiss already, but Twilight is too oblivious and Fluttershy is too shy. Eventually when they do it's only because of an accidental confession from Twilight.

Here is the FlutterCord child Amnesty! She takes after her mother with some hint of her father. Amnesty's name was chosen with Discord's path to redemption since his friendship with Fluttershy is what would grant him amnesty in Equestria.

Because they like each other; besides it's canon in Pony Life and is being heavily hinted in the comics and other midia... Besides Discord is an ancient god, and embodiment of chaos... Whoever he stays with be it Celestia, Luna, Twilight whatever he would stillbe the old one,Celestia and Luna are gods but not the same as Discord; they are as steong as him accorsing to the comics but that's the thing Celestia and Luna do not do anything because their powers are HEAVILY destructive, like a lot... differently from Discord that just does not care, and can bend reality with no limitations, but Luna and Cekestia can die like all alicorns since they just have an extended life spam and not a normal one, also thenically ponies live for like hundreds if not for thousands of years; in s10 in the comics it is said that moondancer grandma or aunt whatever lived until like her 400's?? Or something; besides is very popular with children (for wathever reason?? Like bride of Discord that was a thing), the memes in s2 where rhey already shipped the w together and keep calm and flutter on; and most importantly because Fluttershy kind of feels the same too; she often calls him sweet, blushes, laughs at his jokes, calls him funny, spent the whole SEASON making a present for him for Christmas that he was not invited to but she knew he would come; and is aways excited when he is around, etc,etc ... It makes more sense if you look at the other materials of the show besides just the show and rewatch their scenes together... Their romance slowly develops but is there... Somewhere... Discord is essentially and eldritch being that is thenically not even alive considering he is evil and chaos itself and literally FEEDS out of other people's misery; but for whatever reasn Fluttershy loves him and he loves her and even though nobody ubderstands them together they do and it's fine just like it's said in Discordant Harmony;

Please search for Fluttercord scenes and edits on youtube and you will get it since it shows the chemestry they have together; they truly do love one another and in many episodes he is shown to love her; also, she hints at heaing a crush on him since season 4 at least... It's very subtle but it's there; also many other hints such like Fluttershy having both their faces embroidered in her literal pillows lol. Like so much, so much in there... Is just so obvious lol.

okay so I have a question for the MLP fandom. I watched the show until season 7, loved it, and haven’t paid much attention since. Keeping that in mind, I missed all the discussions or potential discourse, but... isn’t he a little old for her? He’s like ancient, hundreds or thousands of years old? And she’s normal aged/just legal/whatever? It seems creepy to me. Can anyone explain why it’s shipped/how it works?

So, the Encanto fandom has collectively agreed that Dolores is very invested in Bruno’s rat telenovelas. 

And I have something I’d like to add: Dolores enjoys listening to said telenovelas to help her fall asleep. By focusing on a story of drama and impossible romance, she’s able to block out every other sound that she can hear in the town, and is able to peacefully nod off.

Bruno eventually notices that his niece seems to fall asleep faster and rest better on nights that he “plays” an episode. So he shifts his schedule a bit, always waiting until Dolores is in bed before starting a show, and choosing one of her favorite arcs to focus on if he notices that a day has been particularly rough on her.

When he finally leaves the walls, he puts on the shows in-person for her for a few nights before bed, or in his room so that she can at least listen. He probably even gives hints to Mariano, who starts to quietly recite his poetry before bed so that Dolores has something calming to listen to if her tío couldn’t make an episode that night.

So since Fluttercord week 2022 is fast approaching, I decided Fluttershy needed a new (new, new) design so, once again for the 4th(?) time now, I've redesigned her. Or more accurately, added gradients and markings. Other than that though her design is mostly the same, and I really like it! On the actual design though, I wanted her to be tall and slender, with a hint of muscles, as I imagine working with large animals would require some physical strength. And I really wanted a good mix of her green/teal colors, as I've always loved her eyes. So there we go! Fluttershy is the only one getting a re-design though as I'm probably going to be sticking to Discord's colors, though maybe a tinge darker.

Alara j rogers writes a lot of good ones. They can deal with heavy topics though (as far as i remember, never in a weird way, always portraying bad stuff as bad) so read any warnings

As far as fluttercord goes

Chaotic neutral is a classic. Rly good if you want a long adventure that fits the tone of canon

Diary of a pliant tyrant is a rly good discord centric one. Only hints of fluttercord but theyre juicy fuckin hints.

Three solos one cadence features well. Cadence. I like the writing style on this one a lot. Ice adventure

Forever young is one of my fav fics handling the topic of mortality and immortality between the two of them

Welp... it’s over. After nine years, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is over. I just got done watching the series finale with Anthony and, just like I knew I would, when the credits rolled, I cried my eyes out

I should probably say something, huh. I’ve been sharing thoughts like this mostly on Twitter lately, but I started using Tumblr to blog about MLP, so I don’t think it would be right to post this anywhere else

I have a complicated relationship with MLP:FiM. It’s a show that got really hit or miss after the second season, and it has a fandom so toxic and so full of edgy libertarians that it scared me off from formally participating in fandoms for the rest of my life. But it’s also probably my favorite TV show of all time. There are other shows that are much better written, that have more to say, that are more consistent, even including several other cartoons from the same decade. But I think I’d be lying to myself if I said it wasn’t my favorite show

No other piece of media has had as massive of an impact on my life as My Little Pony

I grew closer to some of my closest high school friends because of our shared enthusiasm for the show. I started PonyPokey with Jake and Derek and made a bunch of bad videos and got invited to be on a wildly disorganized BronyCon panel with Jenny Nicholson in 2012. (We went on stage immediately after Lauren Faust’s panel. I barely said a word due to stage fright.)

After years of being too afraid to share my art online, I started putting more effort into learning digital art so that I could draw ponies. It started out rough, but with the drive to improve, I quickly got better. I started Fluttershy Replies. For the first time, I had an audience. I had people who cared about my work and supported me. Even as times have changed, many of you have been following me since way back then

Around the time I came out as bi in 2012, I got really into MLP shipping. Writing sappy comics and drawing sappy art became an outlet for my years of pent up feelings, and helped me sort out a lot of stuff. My Little Pony also completely changed the views on femininity that had been beaten into my skull since childhood. Suddenly, it wasn’t this strange, alien thing to be afraid of. MLP, at its heart, is a show about how there’s no wrong way to be a girl. That’s an incredibly powerful message. Rarity wasn’t a vapid snob. Fluttershy wasn’t a background character who got made into the butt of the joke. Pinkie wasn’t a ditz. These were characters written to be empathized with. And writing about my own feelings from the perspective of Fluttershy felt... right. It took me a few years to fully process those feelings, but eventually, I realized the truth. I was a trans woman. And a cartoon about horses was the first step on my path to realizing this

In 2013, one of the roughest years of my life, I decided to download RPG Maker on a whim to give myself a distraction. Naturally, my first instinct was to make a game where Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash kiss. What was initially supposed to be a short, Fantastic Game-esque playground of silly little jokes spiraled out of control and became Super Lesbian Horse RPG, a game that I poured my heart and soul into over the course of a year. And then, a couple years later, my desire to preserve the ideas from my copyright-infringing fangame also spiraled out of control, as all my creative projects do, and became SLHRPG’s successor: Super Lesbian Animal RPG. SLARPG isn’t really a reskinned MLP fangame anymore--it’s more like a new game inspired in part by my old project. The story has been drastically rewritten, the characters changed, the levels and gameplay redesigned. Most of the cast of the new game wasn’t in the original project in any form. There’s much, much, much, much, much more new content than old left in the game. And the original game had already strayed so far from the canon anyway. But I’m also not sure it would exist without MLP

I made a bunch of friends online, including close friends I still have to this day. I met the people like Bee and Thomas who I’m still working with on SLARPG. Most importantly, because we both blogged about MLP and had some mutual friends, I met Anthony, the love of my life. We’ve been together for five years now and supported each other through good times and bad. This is the lamest, corniest, stupidest thing I will ever say in my life, but he’s the Rainbow Dash to my Fluttershy

So what about the finale itself? (spoilers, obviously)

I have... mixed feelings on the finale. There were some things that really annoyed me in there. But also, like I said, I cried, so I think it’s safe to say they did good overall

I think the thing that stuck in my craw the most was Discord. Which I guess shouldn’t be surprising. I’ve been saying for years now how I hate Discord, how he spits in the face of everything the show stands for. He’s an obnoxious elderly manchild who constantly causes problems on purpose and torments his so-called friends the second they stop paying attention to him. But they have to put up with him and give him infinite second chances, because he’s a god and Celestia said they had to reform him

The overarching plot of the final season is that Queen Chrysalis, King Sombra, Tirek, and Cozy Glow (a Darla Dimple-esque filly villain from season 8) had teamed up with Grogar, a “new” villain taken from G1. While this goes on in the background, Twilight is making her preparations to become Celestia’s successor, as we’d known would be her destiny since the day she got wings six years ago. The villain team-up stuff was genuinely fun, and a highlight of the season for me. But then, in the three-part finale, it’s revealed that Grogar was actually Discord in disguise, and that he’d been intentionally trying to orchestrate a big attack on Twilight’s coronation so that she and her friends could save the day and get a big confidence boost going into her reign as princess. This is like... one of the most bafflingly stupid plot twist of all time. It’s literally the end of the show, and Discord has learned nothing. He’s “nice” now, but he’s still intentionally causing huge problems and putting everyone’s lives in danger to solve his problems. He freed four different villains they’d already defeated just so Twilight could beat them again, and in the process they literally blew up the goddamn castle in Canterlot and nearly killed everyone. And yet... they still forgive him, because they have to

I did, however, think that the last two-part adventure episode was fun overall. It tied a nice bow on much of the series, bringing back a bunch of old friends (including cameos from the movie cast!) to band together and save the day. Of course, in the end, they beat the bad guys with a big rainbow laser and sealed them in a statue. You know, even though a previous season finale was all about how solving their problems with a friendship laser and sealing the villains away never worked. Also, Cozy Glow might be evil, but she’s still literally a child? And now her petrified body is on display in the center of Canterlot? What the fuck????

I’m complaining a lot, but again. It was fun overall. It was nice to have one last big adventure, and to have the mane six reflect on how they’d grown since Twilight moved to Ponyville

And then we got the actual final episode. And boy did this one hit me HARD

I’m so glad that they ended on a quieter episode about the main cast’s friendships, because that’s what the show is actually about. The two-part adventures to save Equestria every season are fun, but that’s not the real show. We all came back every week for Twilight and her friends

There are things I can complain about here, too. Spike being a buff adult dragon with the voice of a child is fucked up. I’m still not used to seeing Twilight be Celestia’s size. But more than anything, I was always worried that we’d get a Harry Potter ending, where all the characters are paired off into arbitrary marriages so they can all have kids. Thankfully, this didn’t really happen. The only one who had a kid was Pinkie, who apparently got married to Cheese Sandwich (Weird Al’s character) at some point. Like, they literally shared two episodes together, with no hint of romance? But then they got married and had a kid off-screen??? What the fuck???? A lot of people also think that Fluttershy ended up with Discord, and I know I’m massively biased against that ship, but... I mean, they teased the FlutterCord shippers, but there wasn’t really any actual textual evidence that they were any closer than they had been previously. Y’all weirdos who ship Fluttershy with an obnoxious elderly man can interpret that as being “canon” if you want, I guess, but it’s not

The other relationship that shocked everyone in the finale was Applejack and Rainbow Dash, who... appear to be a couple? It’s definitely hinted at. I have... very, very mixed feelings about this. I mean, okay, obivously I’m the big FlutterDash fangirl. But I think AppleDash is cute, too! The problem is that, like... they’ve barely interacted in years? Like, they had a lot of episodes together in the first two seasons, but then the writers barely ever had them interact past that point. I can’t even remember when the last time we got an actual episode focusing on them was. And no, the one where Rainbow takes Granny Smith to pony Vegas doesn’t count

Like... yeah, it’s cute. It’s a nice gesture. Lyra and Bon Bon getting married in the background was also cute. But we can do so, so much better in 2019. We have so many explicitly canon lesbian couples in cartoons. Couples that actually kissed, or got married, or showed feelings for each other. Rainbow and AJ barely even fucking talked to each other in the final few seasons. I dunno, it just feels very hollow to me. Even the Equestria Girls crew admitting they were pushing RariJack felt more substantial to me, because at least they were given on-screen chemistry and lots of canon interaction

But in the end, complaints aside, the finale was about Twilight moving back to Canterlot, and worrying that her friendships would fade because of it. Honestly, I think this is what the finale of the show always would’ve been. It was the perfect story to end on. And boy, it hit really close to home

And then the last song happens, reflecting on how things have changed, but how they’re all still friends. And we see all the other friends they made along the way. And the camera zooms out, and the book from the opening of the very first episode closes, bringing the entire nine-year saga full circle

And then I started sobbing really hard in Anthony’s arms

I dunno. I just got done nitpicking a lot, but I still think that the last episode was a good and very emotional ending for the show

I’m going to miss this show dearly. I know it will be back in a new form, and that the leaks indicate that it’ll still star slightly different versions of the Mane Six. I’m also used to shows like this getting rebooted. Hasbro cartoons are honestly lucky to last past three seasons. FiM, on the other hand, got over 200 episodes, a theatrical film, a few specials, some shorts, a bunch of comics (which I still need to read), and a spinoff human AU series that was also really great. There’s no shortage of content, and I’m sure I’ll be returning to the series for years to come. I’m also glad that the show managed to go out on a high note

But still. It was a constant presence in my life for nearly nine years. Even as the quality got really hit or miss, even as they took the premise in strange directions, even as the crew of the show grew more and more dominated by men, it was still a show I could rely on to always be there, 26 episodes a year. I’ll miss it. I hope what comes next is just as good, if not even better. I also hope it’s gayer

I was going to end my ask blog, Fluttershy Replies, around the time the show ended. I’m not sure if I’ll do that just yet. I don’t know. I think that might be a bit much for me to process emotionally. Too many doors closing in my life in quick succession. But I do want to do more with it. These characters will be special to me for the rest of my life

i understand why people are uncomfortable with fluttercord, like i’ve gone back and forth over the years with whether i’m into it or not but like.... maybe it’s just because i’m a discord fan lol, but idk i think their relationship has worked out pretty well so i don’t mind that they hinted at it in the show’s finale

With the series finale, what’s your take on the new official ships, and the insinuated ships? CheesePie, SugarMacintosh, SandbarYona, and possibly AppleDash?

Oh, and FlutterCord?

Oh I’m sure I could go on and on about all the things I do and don’t dislike about the finale and everything they did with their characters and ships in the end.

Fortunately none of the shipping discourse is covered in my MLP Review video I’m currently working on, so I’m definitely free to go at them in length here!

Let’s just go in order as I think that’s the easiest way to handle this, and start with CheesePie.

CheesePie gets the 100% Sam Rose seal of approval! CheesePie is wholesome goodness that just makes absolute sense, and anyone who disagrees with these two making a happy couple honestly don’t really know what makes a good couple.

You can dislike it for several reasons, including having other ships you much prefer one or the other to be in, but to say anything along the lines of “They would be bad for each other” would just be straight up false and a gross misunderstanding of their characters.

I honestly don’t have much to say outside of that, they’re just absolutely solid. I’m glad Weird Al got to canonically steal a Waifu, its honestly perfect. If anyone deserved to get away with it, it was him for sure lol

Also Lil Cheese is adorable, though I wish she didn’t have Fluttershy’s colors straight up stolen. Like, just tweak the colors a bit and she’s honestly perfect. It wasn’t difficult lol

SugarMac.

I have mixed feelings about SugarMac. On one hand I think they’re mostly harmless? But at the same time the show never really did a good job of ‘selling’ them.

Like the only times we ever saw SugarMac was when they were having issues with their relationship, and they were really tropey relationship issues too. Love-Triangle battle to get the girl, and then miscommunication twice (I haven’t seen Big Mac Question but I was told it was awfully rehashy of Break Up, Break Down. Feel free to correct me if that’s not the case).

So not only did we never see them develop as a couple, see why they worked out aside from liking how each other looked, we never really had a reason to get invested in them. 

I would’ve loved more background appearances of them, or maybe at least a full on explanation of how they’re doing as a couple outside of their super awkward get together and their issues before just, jumping to getting married.

A harmless ship in my mind, but I always got the feeling people would’ve preferred Mac to get with any number of other more well suited choices. And I can at least agree with that. I like Sugar Belle, but I’m not sure if SugarMac was the best ship for either of them.

I legitimately know nothing about these characters rofl

I’m sitting here trying to think back to the interactions they had in the episodes I saw, and I barely remember them at all. I know Sandbar gets talked about a lot as the ‘boring’ member of the young six, and he’s essentially there to be the token ‘pony’ of the group and that’s it.

I’ve heard people like Yona, that she’s a sweetheart and all, but I never really saw any character defining moments for her.

For context, I didn’t watch every episode of Season 8, and only the Opener for 9, so I missed like 90% of the character episodes for the Young Six.

Judging ships for them is extremely difficult because I don’t have any kind of a grasp of who they are as characters or their importance in the show. I really, REALLY wish they had either been the solid focus of the show, or not been included at all.

So as far as SandbarYona goes, without any reason to truly say no, why not? From what I can tell it’s not toxic, no one has complained about it, but no one has really praised it either.

So I’m gonna assume it’s okay!

AppleDash

I know they made them re-appear talking about chores as a hint that they might be a couple now, and then leave the rest up to fan interpretation, but honestly I’m not a big fan of them as a couple.

Maybe early show it would’ve been fine, but even back then I was never a big fan of “Rivals who become love interests” plots, not unless you really, REALLY showed the chemistry and how their ‘shared passion’ truly became something that is a solid bond of their relationship.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash always kind of took things in the opposite direction, showing why their passions made them clash, instead of why it brought them together. And that only got worse and worse as the seasons went on, especially as Dash got boiled down into being nothing but a cocky, egotistical stereotype.

I’m afraid that CANON AppleDash does not get the Sam Rose seal of approval. The way they’re portrayed in canon just comes off far too toxic for me. It’s perfectly fine to ship it I suppose, since in AUs and headcanons you can strip away the toxicity the show kind of laced their friendship with, but keep in mind that it requires quite a bit of fixing or retconing to make work.

FlutterCord

FlutterCord is… Weird. I can see WHY people would like it, or WHY they would end up together? Fluttershy is practically the only person in Discord’s life that he ever actually cares about, and has a passion and dedication for her that rivals no other, and I can easily see that being interpreted into an actual relationship.

But this is also Discord we’re talking about.

I’m not sure he’s a character who was ever meant to be in any kind of relationship. Or at the very least, it’d be a relationship that would end up as chaotic as he is.

That one episode where Discord tries to change himself to fit Fluttershy was probably their best episode on why their relationship would work, because the things they like about each other is why they’re friends in the first place, and changing that isn’t what either of them wants.

But Discord is a prankster troll who whines for attention and demands to be given things and opportunities he hasn’t earned or deserves, and makes a fuss and mess about all of it if not gotten his way.

I just have a hard time not sitting down and seeing down the road so many small issues piling up until there was this big break because Discord is TERRIBLE about dealing with his emotions, and it’d practically always be on Fluttershy to fix HIS issues for them to be a couple.

Who knows. Maybe they’d work better then I’m giving them credit for? Because I’ve also stated I can totally see why they’d end up a couple, and it makes sense.

But Discord is just a specific type of character that I hesitate to pull the trigger on their relationship, or give it a seal of approval.

I suppose this is another mixed bag ship. Harmless at the end of the day with how its portrayed, but it leaves a lot of unpleasant possibilities lying in the air that make me wary of it.
