"Your son, Shaun. Great kid. A little older than you may have expected, but I'm guessing you figured that out by now."

"My… son?"

The confusion in her voice is so unmistakeable it stops Kellogg short. Silence hangs in the air for a moment. She breaks the stillness with a slow shake of her head and a deep furrow of her brow.

"Shaun…" Her voice wavers, but her eye contact with Kellogg remains unshaken. "Shaun isn't my son."

That isn't his mother.

It does provide a reasonable explanation to the questions raised about her behavior observed by the Watchers and reported by surface informants — But only some of them. It certainly only raises more than it answers.

She introduced herself, consistently, as "Elle Days," rather than the "Zetta Reynolds" dictated in the Vault-Tec records. She never spoke of a dead husband, a missing child, or the Pre-War world. Only of seeking mercenary work and seeking Kellogg.

She took to the wasteland like a duck to water, like she belonged there, rather than the clean, organized America from before the bombs. Zetta, according to records, was supposed to be a mechanic. A roboticist, like Shaun. She didn't have the military background her husband did, and by all rights, shouldn't have adapted to the violence and the decay so quickly.

She didn't ask of Kellogg, "who's Shaun?" She's familiar with him. She knew his father by name, knew him personally, based on their conversation.

But she isn't his mother.

"Father? Is something wrong?"

Shaun lowers his eyes to S9-23 beside him. The synth child is looking up, beseeching, dark eyes large and round with concern. There's something to be said about being seen so keenly by the spitting image of your inner child. Shaun doesn't have clear memories of being that age, but he remembers struggling with the expectations of those around him. Of trying to predict their moods, so he might better know how to compensate accordingly.

That S9 is picking up on his lack of focus today is a sign that the project continues to be successful.

"Nothing you need to worry about," Shaun tells him, patting the synth atop his head. "Nothing has changed. Continue your work."

"Yes, Father."

He had contingencies in place for this.

Not this set of circumstances, precisely. But in case his experiment failed.

It hasn't entirely failed — She's still seeking him. The revelations she found at Fort Hagen haven't slown her down. He doesn't have any intention of stopping her quest to find the Institute. He's curious if she's capable of succeeding, what methods she'll use, and he wants the answers only she can give him.

But in the grand scheme, his experiment failed.

Shaun has never believed in jeopardizing his goals by relying on one result. There are always too many factors outside of one's control. He will see the Institute secure before the end. No matter what he has to do to guarantee it.

He had always known this might not turn out the way his inner child hoped. And he knows that, ultimately, he hasn't lost anything he hasn't already lived without all these years.

It's time to move on.

this ficbite is tied to the series i've been working on, but i can't stop, where my girl elle works her way through fo4 But Shit's Different, in no small part because she isn't a nora. in this piece, i wanted to hash out how shaun would react to this news bc it affects how he moves forward in planning. the answer was. it doesnt change shit. and i feel like i shoulda seen that coming... but! for me, he's one of those characters that i really have to sit down with and get in his head in order for everything to become clear. so, here we are

i love writing shaun. seriously, i LOVE writing shaun. and i love characters who have deadpan unemotional inner voices even when there's emotional upheaval going on. and, yeah, that's what's happening here!

for the record: i do believe shaun can come to genuinely care for the sole survivor -- and he hopes that he WILL. but he doesn't automatically love them. he doesn't know them. they were never a part of his waking life. he was kidnapped, yes, but the way he looks at his situation... effectively, he was adopted. he never knew his birth parents, and didn't feel the need to until he started facing down his own mortality. he's sixty years old, he's lived his entire life without them. he's curious, and he wants to connect with them, but he isn't automatically attached on the merit of blood alone

he describes releasing the sole survivor as an experiment, and i do think he genuinely views it that way -- but it's not completely cold. it's an experiment to see if his parent would still care about him, still love him, still want him, even after everything. he doesn't trust people as a whole, so even if he wants to believe his parent will look for him, he can't trust they will without evidence

but at the same time -- the S9-23 project existed before he released them. (he was probably thinking about doing it for a long time. was he waiting for the opportune moment? was he trying to make up his mind whether he really wanted to? if he was going to let himself want it?) and moreso, he clearly was prepared to hand his parent the keys to the castle if they proved they would side with the institute. he thought that through -- he planned that. he wanted it. he's so angry and bitter if it gets thrown in his face -- that the sole survivor doesn't see how great the institute is (in shaun's bias), that he's right (in his mind), yes, it's an arrogance thing, but it also feels like a betrayal to him. which means he extended trust to them

his utmost goal is to guarantee the institute will be safe after he's gone -- everything he does, all of his most recent plans, is towards that end. and he wants to trust its future to his parent. he wants to hand his parent the thing that matters most to him, and trust that they'll do (what he considers) right by it

of course he'd be, on some level, crushed to find out that the person he let out isn't his parent. (in this scenario, that is.) he wanted to meet his mom. he lined up all his dominoes with that expectation... prepared himself for what he thought she would be like, based on what little information he had... only to discover -- that isn't her. that's not zetta reynolds. that's someone else completely

and maybe she'll still be useful to him. he certainly has to find out what the actual fuck is going on there. but... that's not his mom

it's just that shaun doesn't experience or express emotions like most people. (and i have more headcanons as to why, but i've talked long enough lol...) and i would love to write more shaunfic, but i worry that there's too much between the lines, so i'd need to figure out a way to get the emotion across more strongly despite that... idk, tell me what y'all think!

sure! I've definitely rambled about this before, so I'll actually tag this post this time.

So I guess I see fem!Harry going one of two ways - either a Harry who is exactly the same look and personality wise, just a girl, or a Harry who looks exactly like lily instead of James, and may or may not be just like canon Harry in personality. this is obviously a HUGE generalization and tbh I don't actually have any idea if this is true or not, now that i'm tying it - I don't even read fem!Harry fics, so shit. What do I know.

BUT I would go the route of her looking like Lily but with James's eyes, and the reason I would feel the need to write the whole damn series over is because I think her being a girl would change things drastically from the get-go. I imagine having an adopted daughter that looks just like her dead sister would irk the shit out of petunia, to the point where she would distance herself as much as possible from the girl. And her family would follow suit, because while she and Vernon would turn a blind eye to physically bullying another boy, I don't think they would be encouraging their perfect little dudders to hit a girl. Much too crude. So they would all more of less neglect her as much as possible.

Which would lead to a much more introspective girl than the boy in the canon books, as I would write her, anyway, and one who is used to doing things on her own, and used to being overlooked. The kind of girl who would not make a show of receiving a letter, for sure, and would have waited until she was in her cupboard to read it. And the kind of girl who would have hit it off with Hermione right away, and not so much with Ron. And who maybe wouldn't have entirely snubbed Draco but wouldn't have pledged her loyalty to him immediately. And who would have been sorted into Ravenclaw, because that seems the type she'd be in my mind, and I love a good upset.

Anyway, I swear I have pretty much the whole series written in my mind about how it would go, which is why, of course, I'll never write it. It would be fun, though! Oh, and I think I would go with Holly for the name. Maybe. Hmmm.

Masterlist

Will's eyes roamed the quite big crowd of people, as he stepped carefully down the few steps which led to the altar. On a Sunday mass like today, the little chapel Reverend Ransome called his own, was always bustling with people. Something which made the vicar very happy. He gave friendly, confident looks left and right, as he made his way down the aisle and stopped close to the door. It was a tradition for him to personally see off his churchgoer.

After all, they were his sheep - and he was the sheepherder.

Once almost everyone had bid their goodbyes and only a few people were left, Will suddenly recognised another familiar face within the small group of people... And he was the last one to stand up from the pew.

"Dear Sir Ambrose!" Reverend Ransome called out his old friend with a smile. "What takes you to Aldwinter on this rainy Sunday? I haven’t seen you around in months!" Charles laughed and grabbed the hand of his friend; shaking it thoroughly. "Well... I had to go to Essex anyway this weekend. Business trip," he said; winking. "Therefore, I decided to go to mass in Aldwinter and visit my friend!"

"Well, I am delighted to see you, Charles." "So am I."

The two men talked for a bit. About everything and anything, until... "Charles, I know you well... This business trip and the want to visit me can't be the only reason you're here..." Charles laughed up again; clapping his friend on the shoulder. "You indeed know me well, William. These are truly not the only reasons... Let us sit down."

Will let himself guide to a pew by Ambrose, before they sat down beside each other.

"I have something you might be interested in... It concerns the children in school, here in Aldwinter." Will nodded; pricking up his ears at the word 'children'. "I am all ears, Charles."

"Our children came home from school last week - entirely excited and happy, and when my dear wife asked what was going on, they told her about how they had been visited by a wonderful lady and her troupe. They said they told them stories - bible stories, but not only through words... They dressed up and did a play! Like in a theatre! Can you imagine, Will!"

The vicar's eyes went wide in fascination, wonder and excitement. "Charles, that... That is fascinating!" The man beside him nodded. "It truly is. I soke out the lady and her troupe, of course and she would be willing to make a stop in Aldwinter, too - next week! They're heading to Essex anyway. What do you say? I thought it would be great for the children here."

Will smiled and nodded. "Yes, please do so. That would be indeed wonderful." Charles smiled. "Great! I am going to contact the dear lady then and tell her to ask for revered Will Ransome when in Aldwinter.

Aldwinter was a sweet, cosy village. You had to admit that. Sure, it could be cold and rainy - like you heard, but summers here were wonderful.

The warm sun was shining on your face, as you walked together with your troupe towards the tavern Sir Ambrose told you to go and where you could stay during your time in Aldwinter. With curious eyes, you looked around. You had never been here before. You never were long at the same place, after all. As a travelling player, you were one day here and the next day miles away - but you wouldn't want it any other way. It was the life you chose and loved with all your heart.

After the kind woman described the way, you walked the short distance to the church; hoping that you took the right paths. You did. Seeing the elderly, but beautifully crafted building, you smiled and tuck a strand of loose red hair nervously out of your face and cautiously stepped through the wooden doors. There was no one to be seen.

Once you reached said tavern, you told your fellow companions to go and settle, while you would meet the contact person Ambrose arranged for you.

"Excuse me?" You approached the lady in a dress and apron, as she cleaned up some tables in said tavern. At your words, she looked up to face you. "Yes?" You gave her a gentle smile. "I'm looking for reverend Ransome... Do you know where I can find him?" "Sure, miss. You'll most likely find him in the church at this time of the day." "And how do I get to the church? Apologies, I've never been in Aldwinter before." "Oh that's not a problem, miss." The lady smiled and put her rag away; wiping her hands on her apron. "The church is not difficult to find..."

"Apologies, Miss. I was up the stairs; sorting some things. I didn't hear you right away."

"Hello?" You called out; walking down the aisle. "Mr. Ransome?"

Just when you were about to call out again, you heard some rustling coming from another room; probably the backroom and only mere seconds later there were steps. They grew louder and louder, until they revealed the man you had been searching for - or well, told to go to...

... and you had expected a lot, but certainly not that.

Reverend William Ransome sounded to you like you were going to be face to face with an elderly, friendly man with glasses; perhaps in his fifties. You were wrong... Oh so wrong...

You swallowed; were taken aback by the man's beauty. You had never seen a more stunning man than him - and you had seen a lot as an travelling actor...

In front of you stood a tall man in his late thirties, probably early forties. Longer, blonde-brown curls framed his face, which seemed to be carved out of marble. High cheekbones, a sharp jawline, stunning blue eyes and perfectly shaped lips and nose. The beard covering his cheeks, chin and upper lip suited him without a doubt.

Will wore brown cord trousers which were attached to brown braces. Underneath those, was a puffy white shirt covering his upper body - but not entirely. Two buttons were undone; displaying a little bit of his chest and the fine, dark hairs which grew there.

"You must be the famous Miss Y/L/N." Will smiled and stretched out his hand. "Will Ransome. I'm the vicar of this cosy, little town." Still a bit stunned you placed your hand in his. Will brought it up to his lips; bestowing a small kiss upon your knuckles. His lips were so soft and gentle, you almost melted on the spot. His beard tickled your skin; leaving a burning sensation behind - in the best way possible.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Reverend." You smiled; trying to not lose your composure. "I'm Y/N Y/L/N, indeed." The vicar smiled back at you; blue eyes sparkling. "The pleasure is mine."

Will offered you to sit inside his little office, so you could talk about the performance and when you and your fellow companions were ready to perform. You noticed that you got along very well with the man sitting opposite of you. Clearly, you were sharing a great chemistry. He was the sweetest, kindest and most polite man you ever met - and he seemed so enamoured with what you were doing for a living.

A date for the play was quickly settled... Tomorrow morning, as soon as the children finished school.

Will watched your every move; completely fascinated and enthralled. He hung on your every word.

Sure, he was watching all of the fantastic players; performing the story of Moses, but you... You were so special. Whenever you spoke, Will's eyes seemed to light up and he couldn't help the smile on his face.

The vicar didn't know what exactly it was that got him so hooked, but he couldn't deny it...

Was it your talent? Your passion? Your beautiful, kind and determined character? Was it your beauty itself? Perhaps all of it?

Will couldn't point it out.

"I-I wanted to-" Will had to clear his throat. "I wanted to ask, if you'd be interested in a little sightseeing tour through Aldwinter tomorrow?" He gave you a nervous smile. "That is very kind of you, Will, but... We actually don't stay longer than a few days at one place, so..." Will nodded. "I-I understand. But please... Just one more day. I'd like to give something in return for your wonderful work." You bit your lip; weighing your options, but then sighed.

After the show ended and all of the children had left with their parents and Will had bid them goodbye, he cautiously approached the woman he couldn't get off his mind again.

"Miss Y/N?"

His deep, yet smooth voice urged to your ears; causing you to smile as you packed your utensils together. "Yes, Mr. Ransome?" The vicar lifted a hand; "Please... Call me Will." smiling as well. "Will," you repeated - and caused Will's heart to speed up. Hearing you roll off his name from your tongue did something to the man of god.

"Alright. One more day."

The vicar smiled, "Thank you." and helped you to pack your troupes things together.

You watched him help Gabriel - one of your colleagues and couldn't help but smile. You've never met a kinder man in your life and you had to admit that you could not wait to spend the day with him tomorrow, but... Was it really a good idea?

While you spent the next day in Aldwinter, the others decided to go to Essex. Aldwinter was too boring for them - something you absolutely didn't agree with. Yes, the weather was moody and often not the best, but nevertheless was it a beautiful, cosy, little town. You liked it - and especially the vicar who lived there.

I could get used to this, you caught yourself thinking; immediately slapping yourself across the cheek - in your head.

You met Will rather late in the morning after breakfast. He had a few things to do - duties to follow as the people's reverend; therefore it was almost lunch time when he stood in front of your room at the tavern.

He showed you around - like promised. The beach. The sometimes quite scary and dangerous marshes. The beautiful forests and of course the town itself. Will introduced you to a few important people and in closing of the day, he invited you over to his little house for dinner.

You were completely amazed and excited about the fact that Will was an excellent cook. The Shepherd's Pie he cooked was delicious, and you dared to say like no other than you've eaten before.

His smile even widened.

Later that evening - it was already dark outside, you were seated beside him on his little sofa; a glass of wine in both his and your hands.

"Thank you for showing me your home, Will. Aldwinter is beautiful." You smiled and took a sip of your wine. The man reciprocated your smile; gave you a dazzling one of his own. "I'm delighted to hear that, Miss-" Y/N..." You interrupted him. "Call me Y/N."

"Y/N..." You nodded. "I really enjoyed it. The time we spent together." Perhaps was the alcohol you had consumed making you a little bold. "You are a very kind man, Will." He blushed, "Thank you, I... I am flattered." and inched closer to you. "And you are the most beautiful and talented woman I have ever met."

You blinked; were almost blushing, too. "Mr. Ransome are you... Are you trying to woo me?" A small, kind of nervous chuckle left the vicar's lips. "Perhaps."

You shook your head; drinking from the wine again. "But we hardly know each other..." "I-I know, but..." He swallowed. "You fascinate me, Y/N. You attracted my attention like no woman did before, I... I feel as if an invisible rope is pulling me to you. A higher power, which keeps on shoving me into your direction. I-I just... I can't help it. I feel myself utterly attracted to you."

Once again you started to shake your head, "Will... Stop it, please..." and sighed. "We can't give into this. I'm going to leave tomorrow and we'll probably never see each other again."

"Please..." The man beside you begged then; seeing how you struggled. Will wasn't a man who took advantage of this situation, but he felt how torn you were. How you actually wanted this and was just held back by the 'What if...'.

"We?" It was everything the vicar was focused on. "We can't give into this?"

You realised the mistake you made way too late.

"Does that mean you feel the same?" Will's heart sped up after those words left his lips. Words filled with hope.

"I-I-I..." You didn't know what to say. It was true, but you forbid your body to feel it; knowing exactly that it would only lead to pain.

He inched even closer, until your thigh almost touched his.

"Just one kiss..." The reverend whispered and before you could do or say something, your lips melted against his. Will sighed in the kiss; hands landing on your waist.

"Tell me to stop and I will." He said in a gentle voice, while he pulled you onto his lap.

You let it happen.

Just one kiss turned into two - and two turned into way much more, until-

Will closed his eyes for a moment. It wasn't a nightmare... Far from it...

Will ripped his eyes open, only to find himself breathing quick and heavy. Sweat pooled on his chest; coating the fine hairs growing there. His puffy night shirt was totally dishevelled - just like his hair.

The vicar sat up in bed. As he moved, he felt the tightness of his underwear and the straining arousal inside.

He had dreamed of her again. Y/N. The beautiful woman with flaming red hair and stunning Y/E/C. The woman who had fascinated him like no other, when she visited Aldwinter a few months back to perform a play with her troupe. The woman which whom he had spent a wonderful night with - and who had left him to live her dream and travel around the world as a player; leaving only a letter and her shawl behind.

Will smiled; remembering the words written on the piece of paper.

One day, l promise I'll come back to you - if you are willing to wait for me.

my next big project is the malex pretty woman au. alex is the rich, detached businessman, michael is captivating in tiny blue shorts and thigh high boots. do you see the vision? i need to make a banner and pick a title!

(i make ONE comment to @bigassbowlingballhead about craving a certain type of fic and suddenly i'm being enabled into my next longfic 🙃). i am genuinely so excited about this one. i've got about 5k written and the whole fic is plotted. i'm thinking this will be in the 25-30k range? maybe? honestly jon is better at estimating my word counts than i am so who knows. still not sure if i'll finish writing this one and then edit and post chapter by chapter or what i'll do, but i think i'll be able to get this one up this year.

i wanna be adored is an elliott/marco, marco gets dropped into crystal valley fic that i've written about 5k for but can't quite get to do what i want. when i started writing it there were no kissingchambers fics, but there are lots now! so if you like them you should probably just read those bc this bad boy probably won't see the light of day even though i've got about 5k written.

dumotanger omegaverse college au (men's hockey rpf) - y'know i really love this one and i am unhinged about dumotanger but i think there's just something missing here that i haven't been able to figure out. i'd love to finish it if i do though! i've got maybe 3k written.

Hmmm probably glass splinters, on account of it being about Thane dying (and staying dead)... Wild Roses is also a contender, what with Liti (my Durge) basically dying and knowing he'll never see his love again (even if anyone who's played the game knows that's not accurate, since he Does survive but just loses all his memories)

IMO it's Lines, since essentially everyone gets a happy ending there and the Nohrian and Hoshidan royals end up in a lasting, peaceful alliance

What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

So. Many. I'm committed to coming back to empty hourglass when I can, and I know I'll finish Stars and Lure eventually, so none of those. Maybe my ambitious Mass Effect AU Durgetash fic that's still in the very early stages?

What are your writing strengths?

Good question - I think I'm good at character voices? I'm very careful to cross-check every bit of dialogue and make sure everyone sounds as in-character as possible, which can take ages with characters like Orin from BG3.

I like to think I'm good at action scenes too but I don't write a ton of them so I'm not 100% on that.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Softer, quieter moments. I can write about people bleeding out or trying to kill each other or doing like, grand declarations of love, but sitting together quietly? I never know what to do with that.

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

I don't love it, personally. I think just writing that they're speaking another language is more inclusive, and less frustrating than people clearly using Google Translate or similar.

First fandom you wrote for?

I mean... in purely technical terms, probably Bakugan. I know I wrote fics for it that I never published or shared with anyone other than my sister. In terms of published fanfic though, uh... it could be Pandora Hearts?

Favourite fic you've ever written?

Favorite thing you’ve created (or seen created) for the fandom?

Battlefield Chicago, for sure. It's almost done, but it's been occupying huge amounts of space in my brain for too long now.

Why is it your favorite?

Ok, so the style of it is probably not going to be for everyone. But building the world, figuring out the background and the motivations for so many of the OC's has been a huge but amazing exercise.

Did it come easily or was it hard to create?

Oof, definitely much easier in the beginning. I'm trying to get the last chapter written write now and it is TOUGH.

Describe how you feel after you’ve created something new? That really depends. A quick one-shot gives a very different feel from completing something longer and more complicated. Mostly relief that it's finished I guess, followed by "ugh, everyone is going to hate this"

Top hype man you have that always helps you get across the finish line: Currently my biggest cheerleaders that I need to give a shout out to are @blue-disco-lights and @ms-moonlight-inn

It's been a bad day, you turn to the fandom and you _____? Depends on the day I guess and just how bad. But I have a few video edits that I watch that can usually cheer me up, or I'll dive into a re-read of a comfort fic.

I am known for jumping fandoms quite a lot, but my homebase has been DC for years now. Sometimes I even still write fics for the fandom :D These days I am firmly established in the FMA(b) fandom and I am currently making a name for myself in JetLag:The Game <3

(but I have written for everything from Teen Wolf to Angels for America (the play) to Spring Awakening to Maze Runner)

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I really, really try to respond to comments! Because I love getting them and I know (as a reader) how much fun it is to get a response from the author! Unfortunately... whenever I feel a depression spell coming on, replying to comments is often the first thing I stop doing. So, there's comments in my inbox that are 5 years old because I am trying to find the right time to reply. If you recently got a reply from me for something you complimented me on in 2021 <3 <3 <3 I am still thinking about you! <3 <3 <3

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

HA HA HA HA HA HA (insert laughing sickos meme here)

When We Meet Each Other In The Next Life Tell Me To Say Hello ends with Bruce Wayne telling a dying Dick Grayson stories knowing they won't be saved in time. Until Gold Touches The Sun ends with Tim and Damian being forced to watch Dick get executed. Sisyphean has Jason be forced to actively kill Dick to ease his suffering.

Also shoutout to All Quiet On The Eastern Front for being a story about the Ishvalen Genocide told from the perspective of a soldier about to be killed by Roy Mustang.

There's so much more, but those are some of the big ones I can think off at the top of my head.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Hmmm, that's harder to answer. What's a happy ending? I have written some fluff fics, those probably count. Recently I wrote Theories Of Non-Conforming Heterosexuality which might end in some of the softest, purest rom-com-esque cuddling.

Oh, and there's The Turbulent Adoption of Roy Mustang which is a lot of crack treated seriously but ends in a surprisingly sincere moment of understanding and love.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Occasionally -- I write a lot of stories that are very decidedly Pro-Choice and some of these stories really didn't suit people's tastes. Other than that... people in the DC fandom go fucking crazy sometimes. I really don't have it that bad comparatively but sometimes I skim through old comments and I am baffled that someone actually said that to me.

9. Do you write smut?

Sometimes. I fear I am bad at it, but the only way out is through ;)

10. Do you write crossovers?

Yes. I love a good crossover and so I try to write a good crossover.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not as far as I can tell!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I have gotten a few offers of people wanting to translate my fics, and maybe they did it or maybe they don't, but an offer was definitely made. And there's a couple of podfics out there for my fics, which just fills me with joy every time I remember <3

13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?

Yes. Iris. You still have to post the second chapter. Iris. Do you hear me. Please.

14. What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Oh, that's a hard one. I am not what you'd call a shipper. Probably Royai? You can never go wrong with Royai.

15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I AM SO SORRY FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS EVER READ THE MOTHER DOUGH!

Mirror's Turned is my big (abandoned) long fic and as much as I would love to see the story finished (i still have the outline somewhere, I swear) my girlfriend who was helping me edit broke up with me in the middle of writing this and I just... I never managed to pick it back up.

I am soooooo sorry. This WIP haunts me everyday.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I think I can be surprisingly funny in my dialogue if I want to be, and I certainly have some skill in actually getting a character voice right. My writing is very close style of writing, and as such I am good at shifting the focus into the character -- and I am always willing to try out something new.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I am trying so hard to give everything texture and a feel of groundedness, and I still somehow fail to strike a balance between descriptions, actions and dialogue. It's just... slightly skewered. That, and my Show Don't Tell could definitely be stronger.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

I have played around with it before :D It can certainly add something to the story if well done -- just make sure you're using the language correctly.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Detective Conan - I was on a Swiss fan webpage that had it's own little archive. I wrote a handful of stories for that, back when breaching 1k still felt like writing a longfic.

20. Favorite fic you’ve ever written?

I just have to say The Worst Place On Earth - simply because I think it is the best thing I have ever written from a technical standpoint.

Burned - Sabo x Reader and I was trying to be as heart wrenchingly painful as possible. >.> I'm not really good at angst, I always feel bad and want to make sure the ending is good ^^;

Eh, not really. I'm pretty solid about tagging them and what not, and I'm pretty vocal that if you walk yourself in, you can walk yourself out. But 99 out of 100 people are pretty chill.

Katakuri/Maren is just sublime, and Mew's amazing - the passion pulls you right in -^_^- <3 If I have to pick a full canon/canon... augh, I love so many... Probably Curly Dadan/Kokoro - I put 'em together in one of my fics and they've grown on me. I hope they're happy together XD

15) what's the wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have a couple fics fighting me on how I'll end them, but I'll get there. Heart of Gold most notoriously. Like I know what I want to do, but my passion for writing Law long-form is on fumes, and while I want to wrap it up, I don't want to just rush it out the door either.

Banter, so I've been told ^_^

Too many wips - and I just mean I get slowed down a little bit cause I need re-read sometimes so I don't get wires crossed, but if I don't have enough wips I can't really focus. I think I'm starting this year with like 17 of them, and despite starting Two New Ones tomorrow I hope I end the year with like... 9. Let me get under double digits ^^;

Hmmm... I'd have to say Family Ties, because it was the first One Piece fic, and the first x reader fic I've written. It's responsible for breaking 10 years and change of not writing at all, and it was the stepping stone that led me to finding most of the community I have now. I can't believe it was like October 2022 and here I am, completely hooked.

PACING. Always pacing. That and writing ridiculously long sentences with too many adjectives 😭

Thoughts on writing dialogue in different languages on fics?

Slightly controversial and difficult to explain but my opinion is that if a character is speaking a language that the main character is supposed to understand, it should be written in the same language as the fic itself😅 my reasoning is that if the character can understand it, the reader reading through the character should understand it and so it should be in the same language as the rest of the fic😅 if the character does not understand, and therefore the reader, it should be shortened to 'so and so speaks in (language)' so that both the reader and the character are kept in the dark 😅 also, as a native German speaker, I find reading Google translated German in fics just takes me out of it😭 it sounds unnatural 😭 of course, this is just my opinion and people can do what they want😅 i have no real issue with it after all...especially if it's important to the plot.

Am I the only that found the canon explanations for why the characters go to Playful Land and are in town for the Nightmare Before Christmas event extremely forced and almost OOC in some cases? Yuu, Adeuce and Grim deciding to randomly hang out with Floyd seemed random, especially since they never spent time together before. Leona, Jack and Vil don't seem like the sorts to decide to go there, even the explanations the game provided. Those aren't even the half of them. Are you planning to handle that differently in yours?

....Probably??? I'm sorry. I really do think it makes sense, because they're all connected through each other- Floyd through Ace, Leona through Jack, and Vil through Ortho (as it technically is taking place after Book Six since Ortho is a proper student at the time of this event).

Yuu and Grim are friends with Ace, who both went to support his Basketball Club event. Floyd is in the basketball club with Ace. Leona went to keep an eye on Jack because he knew Jack wasn't acting like himself (literally points out that Jack is acting out-of-character and that it's suspicious) and Vil goes to keep an eye on Ortho, who is, at that point in time, part of the film club, because everything he was told Fellow had said sounded highly suspicious but the fact that Ortho couldn't detect any lies was even more so. Jade and Floyd live for the excitement.

Any changes out of character are pointed out by other characters and are acknowledged to be a result of Fellow's Unique Magic. As we have other characters (Jamil, Jade, Ruggie) who can control minds and/or bodies, it's not that much of a stretch.

I don't really think it's random/forced at all. Everyone is connected via through clubs, childhood friendships, or family, and any and all oddities in personality are pointed out and acknowledged by other characters, and are then explained to be the result of someone's magic.

As for if I'm going to handle anything different...

Ortho and Vil.

As I'm going to be writing it after Book Two that means Ortho is not an official student and is therefore not part of the Film Club, and has little to no connection to Vil. I might have to have Vil get involved through Jack. Vil and Leona have a habit of bickering, and Vil and Jack are childhood friends.

Now, for Nightmare Before Christmas' event.... eh, maybe a little. I haven't gone ham in my notes about the plot for it yet save for my Skully rewrite so I don't remember the explanations for them all being there very well. (Save for Riddle and Trey, Malleus and Sebek, Idia, and... I wanna say Vil and Epel??? OH WAIT Jade and Azul I remember too. Wait, is that all of them??? OH JAMIL. Jamil lost Kalim, I think???)

Riddle and Trey- mannerism books for Adeuce (and Sebek).

Malleus and Sebek- invited Yuu because Mr. Horns wanted to look for something new to read and Sebek tagged along.

Vil and Epel- the former lent the latter some of his old text books, I think, and they went to get copies of them since they're not in most stores nowadays???

Jamil- something something, lost Kalim

Idia- MANGAAAAAA.

LEONA. Why is he there???? I don't remember.

Azul and Jade- looking for Halloween books.

AHA THAT'S ELEVEN. Okay, so the only one I don't really remember why he's there is Leona. Hmmm. Oh well. I'll figure it out. I'm going to have to rewrite Azul and Jade's reasoning for being there, anyways, since I'm going to have it take place in November after Book Three.

Hmmm maybe editor of other peoples books or movies 🤔 really I wouldn't mind most jobs as long as it was enough money and not a lot of hours in a row

I think I have a good eye for detail/noticing things in general

something you hate: Bad writing in tv shows, like it's bad in any form of media but for some reason nothing wastes my time more than bad tv. I have no patience for it. Also boring het romance plot lines

Very easy I think, rule follower for the most part. I seem to remember occasionally being a little mean to people but also being mostly liked so. I guess I wasn't THAT mean. I do also remember trying very hard to be funny because that seemed like the most important thing to me 🤣 And like everyone I read a lot

favourite subject at school:

Tie between english and math. I loved english as a subject to learn but writing essays sucked really bad where as math was fairly easy for me so I never stressed going there 👍

least favourite subject:

I don't think I ever had any class I realllly hated but probably just science classes by default. I liked most of what I actually learned but most of my high school science classes were more or less. Self taught with very light guidance so much harder

Feels a little cop out but I try genuinely to be kind as much as I can, and patient

Hmm I think I can be quick to frustration at times, and I can really let a bad mood really linger/drag on

Yes💜 i try to respond to them all but sometimes i forget and then i feel bad because i get another comment and i cant respond to it because i didn't respond to the previous one but by then an extend period of time has passed and i feel weird about replying to the previous comment so i stop responding... oops.. also that time i go a few hate comments and it made me stop responding to comments on that fic

Because You're Exhausting - uhhhh this is depression in 10K words its so fucking sad and you will need tissues and most of the comments on this fic are people telling me they cried so... yeah sorry about this (read the tags please for the love of god read the notes there's a lot of trigger warnings)

There are quite a few with good happy endings but I'm especially fond of Cow Eyes i think its silly and cute

Yeah kinda - Because You're Exhausting has got a few mostly about the ending which i to an extent can understand but if you're going to be triggered by something please for the love of god READ THE WARNINGS IN THE NOTES - i don't wanna spoil everything but the tags on its own should have been enough to go hey maybe i should read the notes too asjkdaj so yeah a few hate comments on that

Yes! didn't for the longest time but yes yes I do :)

Healing fic is killing me rn - I may write a lot lot of angst but seeing buck so happy on my screen is making me struggle to write depressed buck but I will write it but also uni is killing me rn. this fic is over 17K so far with no end in sight so is by far my longest which I think is why its so hard

I think I'm good at writing depressing shit

Like the rest? Idk I struggle with dialogue tags and switching from dialogue to prose I think

I love it but too scared to do it because I just speak English. But I love pet names etc in other languages.

I think Sherlock bbc on wattpad when I was a kid and then Lucifer first on ao3. Looking back these are pretty trash idk what I was thinking but we all start somewhere.

Hmmm good question. Even though Because You're Exhausting is so sad I really do like it. Also running from myself (and the memories of you) (12K) which is also depressed!Buck but it's lighter and has a happy ending. Also both my chronic pain!Buck fics make me happy. Idk this is hard I can't choose.
