Please, something of adorable fluff with dad Travis Konecny I have such bad baby fever right now
HOCKEY CARD COLLECTION
i don't remmebr who it was, but a while ago, i saw a video of a player and his kid opening hockey cards, and they pull him and that's just stuck in my brain. also, i did decide to change the player, just personal reasons, we love tk in this house! so, instead, this is going to be for my au for nico cause i feel like i dpn't give that au enough love.
"THE HISCHIER FAMILY" MASTERLIST
something new that elena had started collecting in her ever growing hockey paraphernalia collection was hockey cards, they were her new obsession. it was probably the surprise aspect of it all but she had a giant binder filled with cards. whenever you went to the store, you made sure to stock up on the cards.
something that nico loved to do with her was get different players to sign the cards. of course every new jersey card she had had been signed by the respective player already, but whenever the away team came to play or he went away for games, he would always collect the players cards from that team and get them signed and it was always a sweet to see the smile on not only elena's face when she saw the card, but nico's as well.
"lena, i have a surprise for you!" you sang as you came through the door. not long after, you heard elena's quick footsteps running down the hall, frankie, your dog, following after her.
"mama!" she cheered. you quickly set down all the grocery bags and enveloped her in a hug. you had only been gone for a few hours but she was in a clingy stage, she missed you and nico no matter how long you had been gone.
"hi, girly." you smiled, kissing her head and setting her on your hip. nico came down the hallway, a smile on his face as you looked at the scene in front of him.
"i have some frozens." you pointed to the bags, kissing nico on the cheek and walking towards the living room leaving him to deal with the bags.
while you waited for nico to finish putting all the groceries away, elena spent the entire time telling you about everything she and nico had done in the time that you had been gone, "wow, you and papa did a lot today." you gasped.
"did you get me a present?" she asked, raising a brow at you the same way you did.
"i did." you nodded, "but what do you say first?" you raised a brow right back at her.
"please?" she asked, flashing you her puppy eyes.
"that's my girl." you nodded, reaching into your bag and pulling out the hockey packs.
"cards!" she cheered, snatching them from your hand and ripping into them before you even had time to reprimand her for snatching.
you and nico watched with smiles as she pulled out each card and attempted to read the names. she got a few right but got stumped on a few of the names. she ripped into the last little pack and flipped through the cards.
she got the second to last card and her eyes went wide, "papa!" she quickly flipped the card around to show him the card.
in all the hockey cards for you, for some reason, had yet to find a nico hischier card. you had millions of other players and tons of repeats, but none of her beloved 13.
so when she flipped the card over, you both couldn't help but cheer with her, "it's you, it's you!" she jumped around, giggling and laughing when frankie started doing the same.
"you have to sign it now. it's tradition." you reminded him. he quickly grabbed a sharpie and signed his name. he had signed his name for tons of different fan merch, other jerseys, bobbleheads, other cards, but this one was special for him.
he picked it up and held it up, showing it off, "i look good." he joked. elena laughed while you playfully rolled your eyes.
"i have to add it to my collection." she quickly gathered her new cards and ran up to her room, frankie on her heels.
once it was just you and nico, he looked over at you, "i looked good, right?"
you rolled your eyes again, "yes, nico, you looked good."

Asking you to kindly elaborate on the strollonso football au:
Tumblr media
hello raapija my beloved, i would love to elaborate <3
for those out of the loop, refer to my tags on this post!
warning: i am an american with a incredibly basic understanding of footy ("soccer"). there is a reason the actual talk of any gameplay is basic and limited
fernando is this new guy to Lawrence Stroll's footy team right. (because in every universe, lawrence has to own a Team.) i can imagine he's some draft pick from spain for a new striker or something like that. possibly some trade, maybe a mid-season exchange (they do that in american football but idk if they do that in footy) those who know specifics of positions in footy please let me know your thoughts on what position fernando would play
lance: couldn't give two shits about footy. he's seen maybe once in a blue moon on the sidelines tagging along, and he's known for being visibly bored or on his phone during matches. (he has the Pout Blast 3000 for this.)
the reputation he receives from fans is much like the perceived impressions he gets irl: some spoiled kid who shouldn't be there. he's more into hockey than any match his dad's team could ever play.
now when fernando shows up its like a fucking slap to the face. like. "holy fuck i didn't think they could be this hot" type beat.
for the first time, lance shows up to a team practice with his father, not just a match. but he's really not there for the team: he is enamored by fernando. his speed. he's a sly yet devilishly handsome fucker with this wicked grin when he knows he's tricked his opponent yet again, and lance is obsessed.
not only does he start going to way more matches. he also starts showing visible interest and gets invested. and he gets loud. the mumbles online about his "spoiled reputation" turn to joy. he becomes a meme of the team for a few weeks after a clip of him getting frustrated after a poorly-called card is given to fernando ends up going viral.
and maybe this entire time, fernando has been watching this young boy from afar. he totally believes he can't be with his literal manager's young son and jeopardize his spot on the team and a shot at glory. and maybe he believes that lance initially isn't interested. but maybe when he sees lance become more invested in the team, he figures he might have a chance. he just can't figure out why lance has become so invested in what was, quite frankly, a very short amount of time.
so maybe fernando's on the side for a while in a practice. lance is there, but he seems distant. not in the game. not really watching the drills by the other players with much enthusiasm. and fernando's a smart man. and he puts some pieces together in his brain. and makes a move.
he comes up to lance and asks to talk with him once practice is done. when all the other players are gone. in the locker room. of course lance agrees
flash forward a bit. n lance is like. hanging out by the exit outside of the locker room. he counts all the players. and when there's only one left. he goes inside. finds fernando sitting on one of the benches, still in his kit.
they get to talking. what lance does outside of being at games, (i can imagine him being a student but i don't have the will to kin assign him a major right now), what his favorite hockey team is (habs. of course) and of course, the loaded question:
"lancito, what's gotten you so interested in the team now?"
of course, lance doesn't really respond to this, kinda dances around the question. he gets flustered. he doesn't want to be found out. what if he sees right through him, what if he already knows, what if he tells his dad??
fernando leans in slightly, and slides his hand over lance's hip. he cups his chin softly, and slowly turns lance's head to look at fernando straight on.
"be honest, niñito."
and when has lance ever been anything but honest.

October 25th - Apollo Adventures - Pittsburgh, PA
The floral delivery driver opened the door to the travel agency. He carried a large vase filled with beautiful fall flowers. Calliope looked out from her office. “Can I help you?” she said as she got up from her desk and walked out to greet the driver.
“Uhhhh, sure,” the driver smiled as gave an approving look at Calliope.
She was accustomed to the male gaze and chose to ignore the look. It had been nearly fifteen years since the death of her beloved Alphonso and she still had no interest in men. Her heart still belonged to her husband, even if they had been only given the gift a few short years of marriage. Her family begged and pleaded with her to give men another try. Once in high school, Sera had even joked that maybe she should try a woman instead. She responded to each comment with a sweet smile before she responded. “I knew the first time that he held my hand in church that he was the ONE,” she explained, “We had seven perfect years together. Why do I want imperfection now?”
Truthfully, she embraced and cherished her role in the family. She was the “eccentric” one who marched to the beat of her own drum and thumbed her nose at the idea of she should live her life according to the traditions of the family. Instead she took the modest life insurance money that her beloved left her and launched a travel agency with no formal education and little experience. Her niece, Seraphina, had decided to join her in the business with the promise to bring it into the world of the internet.
Calliope patiently waited for the driver to finish gawking. “These are for a Sera Pappas,” the tall blonde with a hint of a southern accent said with authority, “Where should I put them?”
Sera looked up from her desk. She locked eyes with her aunt whose eyebrow raised in question. Sera knew in an instant that her aunt would have questions - questions that would demand answers. The driver, Calvin, nodded and placed the vase on Sera’s desk as she moved piles around. Sera resisted the urge to check the enclosure card until her aunt turned around.
Calvin and Calliope were locked in an unintentional standoff. Finally, Calvin broke the ice. “I am deeply saddened that I do not have an equally beautiful  bouquet to present to you,” he said with a smile, “Your man should do better.”
Calliope laughed, “I don’t have a man.” She was about to add, “And don’t want one,” before something inside of herself stopped herself.
Calvin smiled, “We’ll need to rectify that situation immediately.”
Calliope started to ask exactly what situation needed to be rectified immediately  - the bouquet or the man. However, Calvin exited with a gallant salute and bow. “Ladies,” he called out as he left, “It has been my honor to be in your presence.”
Calliope turned Sera who in turn stared at the vase of flowers on her desk. She walked over to the desk and examined the flowers. She made it completely obvious that she was not going to move until the mystery of the flowers was solved.

Sera smiled to herself as she held the card in her hand. In the past two weeks, she had been on two dates with Sidney. They had another date scheduled for the next night, after his return from his road trip. Despite her best effort, she was unable to keep the grin off of her face. It was her first time receiving flowers, and she was awed by the amount of joy it had brought her.
Calliope cleared her throat, “Spill it Sera.”
The relationship between Sera and Calliope was different from her relationship with her other aunts.  Although they were from different generations, the bond between them was more friendship than familiarial. Calliope, for the lack of a better term, was the “keeper of Sera’s secrets.”
“The flowers?” Sera asked coyly.
“No, the baklava,” Calliope deadpanned, “Who are they from? I need to know who or what is the cause of that glow you have had for the past three weeks.”
Sera blushed, “There are from a man. They are from a wonderful man.”
Calliope resisted the urge to grab the card from Sera’s hand. “And does this wonderful man have a name?” she smiled to put Sera at ease.
“Yes,” she blushed, “Sidney……” Sera was about to say his last name but stopped herself. Calliope motioned her hand to encourage her to keep going.
Sera smiled and told Calliope the story of how they met, complete with an animated impersonalization of Michaela. Then she filled her in on the story of how they remet in the park and their first date. Sera told her all of the details of how Sidney had picked her up and taken her to Sewickley Quarter. They sat at a hidden corner table on the back patio. He had been a perfect gentleman, and they had ended up shutting down the restaurant and then going for a long walk through the park afterward. So long of a walk that by the time she had gotten in her car to drive home, she had gotten the “where are you?” text from her parents.
Their next date had been to ride on the Duquesne Incline up Mount Washington. Sera had taken notice that the ride operator allowed Sidney and her to ride in a car by themselves.
“And how exactly did he manage to do that?” Calliope quizzed Sera. She knew from experience that the Incline was packed all the time.
“He was recognized,” Sera replied casually.
“Recognized how?” Calliope prodded, “What is his name again?”
“Sidney,” Sera repeated in an attempt to stall,  “Sidney Crosby.” Sera waited for a reaction from her beloved aunt.
“Crosby….. That’s not Greek,” Calliope deadpanned, “Is his mother Greek at least?” Sera stared at her aunt as she processed the information. “Wait, why would he be recognized? I know that name though. Why do I know that name?”
“He’s the hockey player,” Sera stated, “He plays for the Penguins.”
Calliope questioned, “And he is a good man? He treats you well?”
“Oh Calliope,” Sera sighed, “He is sweet and kind. When I am with him, it feels like time stands still. When it’s time to leave, I have to force myself to leave.” Calliope’s eyes filled with tears. “Theía(Aunt), why are you crying?”
Calliope grabbed her face and kissed her forehead, “Because seeing you happy makes me happy. Just wait until your father finds out.”
Sera tried to reign in her excitement, “It’s only been two dates. I don’t think that I need to alert the family yet.”
Calliope smiled, “It will be our little secret then.”
THE NEXT DAY - Apollo Adventures - Pittsburgh, PA
Sera caught herself daydreaming about Sidney instead of working on the proposal was supposed to be working on. The mental image of him pressed up against her body in the car of the Duquesne incline. He had kissed her gently at first, silently assessing her reaction. When she grabbed his shirt and pulled him to her, he let the passion take over. She wondered what he would look like with his shirt off - his skin bare to her touch.
It was only when she heard the sound of the door chime that she snapped out of the fantasy. A delivery driver from Fox and Fleur carried a large square box filled with roses. Sera’s eyes widened and she gasped, “Who are those for?”
Tumblr media
“Calliope Postolos,” the harried driver, “Are you her? I am supposed to only give them to her- boss’s orders.”
Sera pointed to her aunt’s office and turned to watch the delivery. Calliope stood up to receive the flowers. Sera strained her neck to watch as her aunt pulled out the enclosure card.
Tumblr media
Calliope’s cheeks turned beet red as she read the card. Then she fanned herself with the card. Sera could not stand it any longer and ran into the office. “Who are they from?” she questioned. Calliope handed her the card. “Calvin,” Sera asked, “Who is Calvin? The guy from yesterday?” Calliope simply nodded and took the card back to stare at it. “Are you going to call him?” Sera prodded.
“I don’t call men,” Calliope said in a huff. On cue, the desk phone rang and they both stared at the phone, then back at each other. Finally after the third ring, Sera answered, “Apollo Adventures - this is Sera. How can I help you?”
“May I speak to Calliope?” a voice with a slow southern drawl asked.
“May I tell her who is calling?” Sera tried to conceal her laughter.
“Mr. Calvin Wagner” he answered.
Sera handed the phone to her aunt, “I guess you are right about that calling men thing. He is on the phone for you.”
Calliope grabbed the phone and shooed Sera out of the office. “Shut the door,” she yelled. Sera went back to her desk and collapsed in a fit of giggles. When Calliope opened the door again after a prolonged conversation, Sera simply lifted her eyebrows in question. Calliope nodded her head up and down. Then she read the unspoken question in Sera’s eyes - “Are you sure?” Again, she nodded her head up and down.
Sera got up and ran to her aunt, “Theía! I am so happy for you.” They hugged each other tight for a moment. “Guess I won’t be the only one with a non-Greek man,” Sera teased.
“It’s just one date,” Calliope answered.
“Let’s make a deal,” Sera suggested, “I’ll keep your secret if you keep mine.”
Calliope balked, “I’m not going to cover for you until I meet this mystery man.”
“Alright,” Sera answered, “He’ll be here in an hour. Try not to embarrass me.”
An hour later, Sidney opened the front door and walked in smoothly. He was dressed in a suit sans tie. Sera looked up from her desk and flashed him a smile. Sidney paused for a moment and stared at her. He could not keep the grin off of his face. Suddenly, Sera got up from her desk and walked towards him quickly. “Hey handsome,” she flirted, momentarily forgetting her aunt was in earshot, “You are awfully dressed up tonight. Do you have a hot date or something?”
Sidney grabbed her into an embrace. “The hottest date,” he answered before kissing her. Sera returned the kiss before she deepened it. Sidney’s hands slid down her back and pulled her tighter against his body. They were interrupted by the sound of Calliope clearing her throat. Sera jumped back when she realized that she had been caught by her aunt.
Sidney turned his attention to the older brunette with the brown wavy hair. His eyes narrowed slightly as he tried to get a read on her body language. She stood with her arms folded with a blank expression on her face. He took a deep breath and walked towards her. “Hello,” he said with a charming grin as he extended his hand, “I’m Sidney Crosby. You must be Sera’s aunt.”
Calliope left his hand hanging, “My name is Calliope. I see that Seraphina has told you about me.”
Sera’s face flushed with embarrassment as it was clear that Sidney did not know how to read Calliope’s expression.
“Yes,” he replied, “She told me how much she enjoys working with you. I hear that there are big plans to make some changes to improve the agency.” Calliope’s right eyebrow raised singularly and he caught that he said something potentially offensive. “I mean,” he stammered, “Not that the agency isn’t great already.” He looked at Sera with the expression of a deer caught in headlights. “What I meant is….” he continued, “modernize it and bring it into the 21st century.”
Calliope snickered, “Oh quit digging the hole. You’ll find yourself in China soon.”
“Theía,” Sera scolded, “Don’t scare him away.”
“I am not easily scared,” Sidney countered at the same time that Calliope said, “A good man can’t be scared away from the woman he loves.” Sera’s breath hitched. Her aunt had dropped the L-word. She looked at Sidney who looked unperturbed by the comment.
Sera took him by the hand to give him a tour of the office space while Calliope returned to her desk. He stopped momentarily at Calliope’s office. He studied the arrangement carefully. He then turned his attention to the flowers on Sera’s desk. He noticed that Sera’s flowers were significantly smaller, pressed his lips together and made a mental note.
“Ready to go?” he asked, “Our reservations are soon and they won’t hold them, even for me.”
Sera stopped in her tracks. She studied Sidney’s outfit and then looked down at her casual tunic sweater, leggings and knee high boots. “Where exactly is the reservation?” she asked timidly. When he responded with the name of the Altius, the most exclusive restaurant in Pittsburgh, she frowned. “I am not exactly dressed for it,” she sighed before a wave of anxiety hit her.
Sera didn’t exactly have a lot of dating experience and the little that she did not include fine dining. She gulped slowly as he looked on with concern. Suddenly the five year age difference between them seemed so much larger. It wasn’t the actual years, per se, but the difference in experiences. “Would I fit into his world,” she thought to herself. Suddenly the reality of dating a NHL superstar and all that entailed came rushing down upon her. The look of panic washed over her face.
“I think that you look fine,” Sidney encouraged, “I am probably overdressed myself.” Sera, even in her limited experience, knew that to be a lie. She appreciated his desire to comfort her, but did have its intended effect. She looked back to her aunt who had her head down and pretended not to eavesdrop.
Finally, Sera turned back to Sidney and worked up her courage. “Would you mind if we rescheduled?” she asked quietly.
“Reschedule our date?” he balked.
“Yes, I won’t feel comfortable if I am not dressed appropriately,” Sera responded.
“Oh,” he sighed. He felt his heart constrict in his chest. It had been a week since he had last seen her. He had been looking forward to spending time with the beautiful brunette since they had parted ways on their previous date. In fact, he had taken some playful chirps from Tanger and Geno about his PINING for his new romance.
Sera looked at him wistfully and suddenly realized that there had potentially been a miscommunication. “Wait,” she said quickly, “Do you think I mean rescheduling our date entirely?” Sidney nodded solemnly. “Oh no,” she added, “I just meant that we can reschedule the fancy dinner until another time when I am dressed better. I would still like to spend time with you tonight.”
A grin spread across his face and he scooped her into her arms. “Really?” he said as he spun her around. He felt like he had just won the lottery. “What would you like to do?” he asked, “We can do anything that you want.”
“How about some take-out and a movie?” she beamed.
“Your place or mine?” he asked. Sera’s smile disappeared. She had avoided the subject of where she lived on their previous dates. She didn’t necessarily mean to lie, but she was embarrassed about the fact that she still lived at home, in her childhood bedroom. She pushed against his chest and took a step back.
“Did I say something wrong?” he asked, unsure why her demeanor had changed.
“No,” she looked down, “It’s just that I haven’t been honest with you.”
“Honest about what?” he questioned. At this point, Calliope had abandoned the idea of pretending not to eavesdrop and stared at the couple.
“I don’t have a place,” she confessed, “I don’t have a place because I still live with my parents.” She turned from him and walked back to her desk. “I understand if you want to call the whole thing off.”
Sidney stood in shock, “Why would I want to call anything off? You think I want to call it off because you live with your parents? Lots of people your age live with your parents.”
“But are they VIRGINS too?” she countered. They stood facing each other.
“So you think I would not want to date you because you are a virgin?” he asked calmly.
“Maybe,” Sera answered. Suddenly she realized how foolish she sounded. “Lots of guys would,” she explained. She stared into Sidney’s eyes and saw the answer to the question staring back at her. “No, he wasn’t like ‘most guys’,” she said to herself, “No, he is the one.” She walked to him and placed her hand on his chest. “Do you want to date me?” she said in a hushed tone. “Do you want to date a girl who isn’t very experienced?”
“I want to date you,” he gripped her hand, “I want to date you, Seraphina. I don’t care about your experience or history. I just want to date you.”
Her eyes glistened with unshed tears, “So I guess the answer to your question is your place. Let’s go to your place.”
Sidney leaned down and kissed her fully, “Nothing would make me happier.” He paused, “Well, maybe some of that lasagna thing you gave me that night. I have been dreaming about that for weeks. That salad, too - I have never had Greek salad that tasted that good.
“Pastitiso?” she asked, “I think I know a place where we can get some of that. Let’s go before they sell out.”
“Lead the way, Seraphina,” he joked.
“Are you going to call me that now, SidNEY?” she teased as she emphasized his last syllable of his name.
“Maybe. Maybe not- it’s a beautiful name by the way,” he answered as he grinned, “What does it mean?”
“It means Angel,” she explained, “Angel in Greek.”
He stopped and stared at her. “Angel,” he thought to himself, “Yes, you absolutely are an angel.”
At Aphrodite’s Kitchen, Calliope distracted the family while Sera ran through the kitchen to box up a deluxe dinner to go. The kitchen staff gave her a hard time before she confessed, “Come on guys, I have a date and I am trying to impress him.” After promising to spill all the tea to them the next day, the kitchen staff presented two full bags filled to the brim with the best Greek food in town. She ran back to the car while Sidney waited patiently in the car parked in front of the restaurant. Just as they were about to drive off, two regulars turned around and did a double take. Much to Sidney’s surprise, Sera slunk into seat and he gave a perfunctory wave to the two older gentlemen.
“Hey Alexander,” they called out to Sera’s father as manned the host stand in his wife’s absence, “We just saw Sera drive off with some guy.”
Alexander’s eyes widened, “My Sera?”
“ Are you sure it wasn’t Calista?” Calliope interjected.
“If it was, she certainly wasn’t with her husband,” they replied.
Alexander went back to the kitchen and yelled, “Has Sera been back here tonight?”
A collective shout of “No” came back from the kitchen staff. It’s not as if they didn’t have loyalty to Alexander, but they all thought of Sera as their little sister, even if she was only the youngest by seven minutes. If their little sister wanted to keep a secret, then they were not about to tattletale on her.
Crosby House - Sewickley, Pennsylvania
Sidney sat at the kitchen island in his Pittsburgh Penguins t-shirt and shorts. His bare feet rested on the wooden frame of the stool. He had pushed his plate forward and turned to face Sera. He propped up the left corner of his forehead on his left hand. He grinned as she told him a funny story about the first time Calliope had taken her to Greece. They had missed the bus back into town after an excursion to a winery. “Theía may have been drinking enough for the both of us,” Sera smirked as she spoke, “Next thing I know is the local sheriff is loading us in the back of his car to take her to jail for public drunkenness. You can imagine THAT phone call to my parents.”
A strand of her hair fell into her eyes. Without thinking, Sidney leaned forward and pushed it back. He leaned forward to kiss her, but stopped short. They looked at each other for a brief moment. Internally, their hearts raced. Sera bit her lip and studied Sidney’s face. She inched her face forward. Their lips almost touched before he said, “I have a question for you.” Sera stopped suddenly and pulled her head back.
Sidney pulled back and sat up straight. He struggled with what to say or how to ask the question before he finally blurted out, “Why are you still a virgin?” Sera frowned and her eyes filled with tears. Immediately, Sidney’s hand went to her cheek. “Crap,” he uttered, “It came out wrong. Please don’t be upset.” Silent tears fell and he wiped them with his thumbs.
“I am just curious. That is all,” he explained, “Is it for religious reasons?”
“No, not particularly,” she answered, “I mean, I have faith, and I go to church, but it’s not why I am still a virgin.”
“Then why?” he asked again.
Sera studied her hands and tried to find the words. “I guess you can blame my aunt,” she said with a sly grin, “You see, she was married to her soul mate. They set the bar pretty high.” Sidney resumed his position with his head resting against his hand on top of the kitchen island. He placed his other hand on top of Sera’s hand to encourage her to continue the story.
Sera explained how Calliope and Alphonso met in church when they were in high school. They were the very definition of the “odd couple”. Calliope with her wild and free nature and Alphonso with his studious demeanor. It was assumed that they would marry right after high school, but Calliope resisted the idea. She wanted to explore the world and Alphonso wanted to make her dreams come true.
They married two weeks after his college graduation and continued their adventurous life. Sera explained how after they traveled the world they discovered that they were unable to have children of their own. Calliope took it in stride but took Sera under her wing as she discovered Sera’s kindred spirit. From there, Sera had a front row seat to how exactly crazy in love Calliope and Alphonso were. That front row seat wasn’t so great when she witnessed Calliope’s grief when Alphonso died suddenly of a heart attack at the tender age of thirty.
“I don’t know,” Sera explained to Sidney, “I just decided that I would wait for a love like that. I don’t want to settle for less.”
“That makes sense,” Sidney replied as his finger intertwined with hers, “A love like that sounds amazing. I hope that you find it someday.” They stared at each for a moment and Sidney instantly regretted his words. “I mean,” he corrected, “I hope that we have that one day.”
Sera slid off her stool and stepped toward Sidney. She placed her hand on his cheek before sliding it behind his head. “Do you think that you could love me like that, Sidney?” she asked quietly.
“I know that I can love you like that, Seraphina,” he whispered back.
“I know that you are the one I want to love me like that,” she kissed his lips. The sparks that flew between them in the incline gondola returned. The kiss deepened as he wrapped his arms around her body. Sera felt the fires of desire wash over her. The possibility of a life with Sidney thrilled her. He thrilled her in every way. In all the ways, she had never felt before. No one else had captured her heart like this.
“Sidney,” she whispered, “Do you want to love me like that?”
“Seraphina,” he lifted her up and carried her into the living room. All thoughts of watching a movie left his head. He wanted nothing more to shower her with love and affection.  “I’m pretty sure that I already love you like that,” he moaned into her neck.
“Oh good, it’s not just me?” She sighed as she reveled in his touch.
“No, definitely not just you,” he smiled as mouth traveled back to willing mouth.
“I want you Sidney. Can I have you?” she moaned.
“You already have me, Seraphina,” he answered.
“Then take me to your bed,” she said suddenly.
He jerked his head back, “Are you sure? I don’t want to pressure you into something that you are not ready for. We can wait.”
“I don’t want to wait,” she pulled his head back to her mouth, “I don’t want to wait another minute for you to love me like that.” Sidney didn’t move. “No, don’t stop,” she whimpered, “Don’t stop because you think I am some naive girl that you have to protect. I waited for my someone special and you’re it. Now that we found each other, I don’t want to wait. Take me to bed, Sidney.”
“You don’t have to tell me again,” he answered, “I don’t want to wait either.”
THREE HOURS LATER - Pappas House
Alexander watched the replay of the Penguins game with the sound down low. His wife, Sophia, worked on her needlepoint. Although he was a die-hard Penguins fan, his eyes kept wandering to the door and his ears listened for the sound of Sera returning home. Normally he didn’t keep track of her comings and goings. Honestly, there wasn’t much to track other than the occasional girl’s night out and parties.
Tonight though, Alexander’s mind has been tormented by the thought of his baby girl driving away with a man- a man that he didn’t know. It wasn’t that she was potentially out on a date. Sera had plenty of dates before, but this is the first date that she concealed from him. An expression of sadness clouded his face.
Sophia looked over and smiled. “She’s twenty-two, Alex,” she attempted to soothe, “She has to spread her wings sometime.”
“She didn’t tell me, Sophie. She always tells me,” Alexander replied. Sera was technically only the baby of the family by a mere seven minutes, but it was enough of a distinction in his mind. She and he had a special bond that was unbreakable. At least, he thought it was unbreakable.
The sound of Sidney’s Range Rover caught his attention. He pretended to get up with an exaggerated yawn. He went to the front door to peek out the sidelight window. “Nice car,” he thought to himself. The windows were tinted enough that he couldn’t make out what was happening inside the car.
Sidney leaned over the center console and kissed Sera gently. “Tonight was amazing,” he whispered before he kissed her forehead, “So I will see you tomorrow?” He looked at her expectantly.
“So soon?” she smiled, “I might think you like me, Mr. Crosby.”
“I need to take advantage of nights at home when I can,” he brushed her hair back from her eyes.
“Oh so you plan on taking advantage of me?” she teased, “Good to know.” They kissed like teenagers before Sera gently pushed away. “Text when you get home?” she asked as she got out of the car. Sidney nodded yes and she shut the door. She stepped back and waved before she turned to walk to the front door. Alexander noticed that Sidney’s car didn’t move until Sera was safely inside the door.
She walked straight into her father with a thud. “Baba,” Sera exclaimed, “Why are you at the front door?”
“I was on my way to get a snack when I heard a car,” Alexander replied.
“Oh,” Sera uttered, “Well, that was my Uber. I had a few glasses of wine.” Her father’s eyebrows raised. “I am going to bed now. Don’t want to be late for church in the morning.”
“Where were you, Seraphina?” Alexander queried,
“Oh, I just went to dinner with a friend from school.” she called back to him as she mounted the stairs.
Alexander turned with a sigh. She was lying to him. She looked in the face and lied to him. He felt the pang in his heart. He walked back to the living room and said good night to his wife. After he climbed the stairs, he heard music coming from Sera’s room. “Half past twelve, And I'm watchin' the late show in my flat all alone, How I hate to spend the evening on my own,” he heard her sing, “There's not a soul out there. No one to hear my prayer. Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! A man after midnight Won't somebody help me chase the shadows away?”
Slowly, he knocked on the door. He had to knock several times before she answered. She had undressed and stood in her robe. “Yes, Baba?” she smiled as she struggled to put her into a messy bun, “I am being too loud?”
“No,no,” he said, “I just wanted to check on you. You were out later than normal and usually you let us know when that happens.”
“Oh,” she said quietly, “Are you upset? I didn’t realize that I had a curfew.”
“Seraphina,” he sighed, “You are twenty-two years old and a college graduate. You are free to live your life.” They studied each other for a moment. “It doesn’t stop me from being concerned.”
“Baba,” she stepped forward and placed a hand on his chest, “I know that you are concerned about me, but you don’t need to be.” He opened his mouth to object and she cut him off, “I met someone. I met someone and he is fantastic.”
“Oh,” he said quietly, “You know you can tell me these things.”
“Yes, I know,” she answered, “but it’s too new to announce to you and Mama. I don’t want to jinx it by announcing it too early.”
“You’re happy?” he asked.
“Very happy,” she beamed.
Alexander smiled despite himself, “That’s all Mama and I want.” He turned to go to his bedroom then turned back, “You’ll tell me when you are ready?”
“You’ll be the first to know,” she answered. His eyebrows raised, and  he laughed. “Okay,” she corrected, “You will be fourth to know - me, him, Calliope, then you.”
“That’s more honest, Seraphina,” he smiled, “Good night, my Angel.”
“Good night, Baba,” she smiled back.

🤒🎂💘🎄💯 for my beloved sai !
Thank youuuu 💛
🤒 FACE WITH THERMOMETER — does your oc get sick easily?
Yes, especially around winter!
🎂 BIRTHDAY CAKE — when is your oc's birthday? how old are they? what are their sun, moon, & rising signs (if known)? what about their tarot card, ruling planet, & ruling number (if known)? do they fit the typical traits of these sun, moon, & rising signs?
His birthday is on the 20th of December! And he's 28 at the beginning of Book One. I unfortunately don't know how to calculate all of the astronomy stuff but his sign is Sagittarius, with Sai sharing some of the more usually attributed to it personality traits, mostly being open minded, curious, intelligent and seeking independence. As for his tarot card, it's the hanged man. Letting go, sacrifice, being unsure of one's direction, indecision, stalling - it all fits him and his story all too well :^)
💘 HEART WITH ARROW — what and/or who do(es) your oc consider the most important to them?
For the "what", it would be knowledge that the other person would chose him above all else. As for "who", it's Nate and Adam :^)
🎄 CHRISTMAS TREE — what is your oc's favorite holiday?
I'd say Valentines. Sai never really celebrated any of the usual holidays around the year, so it's something he decided on later in life.
💯 HUNDRED POINTS SYMBOL — share three random facts about your oc that others may not know.
He's scared of hights, he wanted to be a professional hockey player when he was younger and he doesn't especially like the taste/smell of cinnamon.

1 What are three shows in your watchlist that you’ve been meaning to get to?
The Magnus Protocol (I am yet to finish tma. I’m working on it. I’m on 177 I think? I will get there someday.), Every Dimension 20 show ever. I’ve finished season 1 of Fantasy High and I watched Neverafter because that concert was so up my alley. Three… I guess catch up on Miraculous Ladybug? I am not up to date and I need to know how much of a train wreck it is.
36 What’s an arcade or table game (air hockey, ping pong, etc) that you’re really good at?
I’m not that good but I have fond memories of playing pool with friends. Our families do joint vacations sometimes so we got a rental house that had a pool table and spent hours playing it.
42 Do you have any games on your phone? If so, which one(s) is/are your favorite?
Meow Tower my beloved. Nonograms with cute cats. It’s adorable I love it. Defiantly the one I play most often so I’ll count it as my favorite. I also have mahjong, solitaire and CardGames.io. I like cribbage, idiot and spit the most on that one. Also koi koi, which is not the version of hanafuda I learned (I think we play the Hawaiian version but also my family plays with animals as 5 and ribbons as 10 which seems to be the opposite of what I see on the internet.) Anyways, love hanafuda. I need mutuals to live closer to me so we can play card games.

🐨 + Kit my beloved
Their last movie they saw in theaters: Godzilla 2000 ( as of the Pilot)
If they're a good or bad driver, if they drive at all: He's pretty good. He's a chill drive doesn't get nervous. Not always as careful as he should but good about keeping his car maintained and only takes risks he feels aren't too high/are nessesary.
A song I connect with their main friendship: One Call Away by Charlie Blunth ( he and Lindsey)
If they're sentimental or not: he is very much so.
Which poker card they represent: Ace of Hearts: A new beginning, such as a new relationship, marriage, or some good news for yourself or someone close
If they have a specific motif (animal, color, shapes, etc.): hmm I can't think of anything .
What their room looks like: "organized messy" clothes and shoes are often strewn about but not to the point you can't see the floor. He has his own room built into the house on the second room. It's not big but cozy and has a window facing out. He has his sports awards on shelves ( courtesy of Luke) and posters on the wall. It's similar in layout to Rory's. He has a beanbag chair.
Which Winx Club character they are: Sky maybe?
If they had a wish right now, it would be this: being a pro baseball or hockey player or Tristan coming back after he gets sent away.
The worst thought they've ever had about themselves: It's on him that his father doesn't want him.

20 question for fic writers
Thanks @stereopticons and @welcometololaland for the tags, even if it is distracting me from hockey lmaooooo
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
221. No, that's not a typo.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
729,286! However there's a few collabs in there, per my spreadsheet where I obsessively track these things my *personal* wordcount for works on AO3 is 600,080 (so I guess I crossed 600k with this morning's kinktober! That's fun.
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Right now it's Red, White & Royal Blue. I still have my toes in Schitt's Creek, and I've written for Happiest Season and The Last of Us on AO3 as well.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
With so much of my heart (that none is left to protest) [Red, White, & Royal Blue] - the actor AU, aka MJ Nerds Out About Shakespeare For 65,000 Words. And y'all love it, apparently 😅
We always walked a very thin line [Happiest Season] - It remains forever fascinating to me that my rage-fuelled fuck-that-ending thing I smashed out in like 3 hours after watching that film is still the most-kudosed work in the entire fandom. I guess other people shared my annoyance lol.
We were supposed to find this [Red, White, & Royal Blue] - The soulmates/solemates fic and my first fic in this fandom??? That somehow blew all my SC fics out of the water kudos-wise??? Go figure lmao.
Meet me out at the end of my rope [Schitt's Creek] - angstapalooza, my beloved.
When you care enough to send the very best [Schitt's Creek] - this being in the top five (and my second-highest SC fic) is eternally fascinating to me. A fully epistolary fic with Patrick as a greeting card writer for Hallmark?? I mean sure, it's a cute concept, but this is another one of those 'wrote it in an afternoon and y'all love it apparently' fics.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Absolutely! Sometimes I feel bad that my responses aren't always, like, enough. But I massively appreciate people taking the time to comment so I'm always gonna respond!
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Probably the one that ends with MCD lmaooooo
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Most everything I write has a happy ending, but it's probably the RWRB Actor AU? Both the end of the main story and the epilogue end on massive joy
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Yeah. Particularly kink stuff (please be cool on tomorrow's y'all) but also some massively panphobic bullshit on some Schitt's Creek fics. And one or two people who have beef with me lmao. I'm liberal with my use of the 'delete comment' button haha.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
It's been said about me that I might write a bit of smut from time to time, yes. (Though, contrary to my reputation, especially in SC, E-rated is actually only 37% of my total works.) The filthy-yet-tender kind. The let's-examine-where-kinks-come-from kind. The sex-positive kind. The let-people-be-horny-freaks kind.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I haven't, but I would if the right idea presented itself!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I know of...
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of...
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes! My partner in crime @ships-to-sail and I have co-written two uhhhhhh somewhat tonally different fics: The afterlife fic that was a huge treatise on grief and how the people in our lives shape us, and the one where Patrick is a snowman who comes to life complete with sparkly Twilight dildo dick. Something something range.
The Jake/Rachel series has each individual fic as a solo write, but the series is an internally consistent collaboration with @sarahlevys
And there have been a few projects where I've written a section or a chapter as part of a larger collaborative work: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
14. What’s your all time favorite ship?
Don't have one. I love a whole bunch for a whole bunch of different reasons.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
Technically I guess the series is a WIP, but I honestly don't know if I'll ever get to the end of the show for kink!verse. (Never say never 😭 but right now I can't see it happening.)
16. What are your writing strengths?
Fuck off stop making me be nice about myself.
Um, character voice? Both dialogue and narration. I think I'm good at getting a handle on the way characters speak and think, and when I'm on my epistolary bullshit I tend to put a lot of thought into how they text etc as well (for fandoms where we don't see that in canon haha).
Also I'm apparently really good at making readers feel their feelings. Love y'all ❤️
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Plot lol. I've said it before and I'll say it again, there's a reason y'all keep seeing me thank @ships-to-sail for the outline on anything with any substance.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
Not opposed to it, but have a horror of google translate fail. So beyond, like, a word here or there, I wouldn't do it unless I could reach out to a fluent speaker and make sure it's right. My second language is functionally useless to me in a fandom context lol.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
HP. Fuck JKR for tainting all my memories of that time.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Hey remember my answer to #1? That makes this mean.
I have a different answer every time. Been a bit dysphoric lately so today I'm gonna say it's nonbinary Alexis Rose lol.
Tried to skip people I'd seen have done it or been tagged already but was probably unsuccessful, sorry if some of y'all are feeling spammed: @affectionatelyrs @celeritas2997  @daisymae-12 @happiness-of-the-pursuit @heartitinthesilence @hgejfmw-hgejhsf @hypnostheory @inexplicablymine @myheartalivewrites @sherryvalli @smc-27 @tintagel-or-cockleshells and anyone who wants to play ❤️

Is it wrong for me to watch hockey for the blorbos? Like wins are cool but it's more important to me that my blorbos are vibing. Lbr only one team to can get cup each year so it feels more realistic to be blorbo-centric
Hey anon, I want you to know that the desire to just post this with a trap card and call it a day was very strong. Because this is a discourse topic. But I’m gonna do my best to answer you in my best attempt at good faith. May not come across that way, 🤷‍♀️ doing my best.
First off, this is about watching games and interacting with actual sports and its fans online and offline, not fanworks, fanfic, nor rpf. RPF is fine. I’m not talking about it. If you want to be an rpf-centric hockey fan— good for you. I’m talking about watching hockey games.
Is it wrong for you to watch hockey for the blorbos? There’s no right way to watch hockey. There’s no right reason. As long as you aren’t stalking someone or committing a crime, then watch for the reasons you want to watch. Favorite players give the game color and spice. They can lead to new favorite teams or more favorite players if you’ve got an open heart. The problem starts when you say one reason (your reason) is better than other reasons or that every person should share your reason. It’s very easy to talk down to other fans because obviously you’re right. It’s very easy to get talked down to by others for those same reasons, and I’m sorry if that’s happened to you. As you can see, this is where we get discourse.
(I am specifically using favorite players because these are real people and it’s really easy to forget that between RPF and the word blorbo. Hockey isn’t scripted. If you want scripted sports go check out wrestling, I promise queer wrestling is a bunch of fun.)
Lke wins are cool but it's more important to me that my blorbos are vibing. That’s nice. Genuinely I’m glad you get enjoyment out of your favorite players doing well. I care that my team wins. It sucks when the team wins and my favorite player has a bad game and it sucks when the team loses and my favorite player had an objectively excellent game. For me, the two inform each other. I can’t just put my desire to see my team win on the shelf and root for the players when it’s a team sport. Sometimes it works, but not always.
To put all my cards on the table I’m a team-centric fan first, a player-centric fan second, and a sport-centric fan third. What that means in practice is I watch hockey games for my team, then my favorite players, and then for the love of the sport. Take women’s hockey for example. I don’t have a team nor a favorite player which is why I catch one game out of every twelve and don’t always make it through a game. It’s not a value judgement, it’s just a statement of facts. The sport is nice but I care about my team doing well and my favorite players doing well and I care about the team more.
Lbr only one team to can get cup each year so it feels more realistic to be blorbo-centric. Now this^ this is why I wanted to hit you with a trap card and not answer this ask. Because I don’t agree with that. I want my team to win every year. I care that my team doesn’t. I don’t want anyone else to win. I don’t like hockey on its own enough to overcome the seething burning jealousy that other teams are getting good things and my team isn’t, this includes former favorite players. I don’t care that my emotional support depth forward from last season is having by all accounts a fantastic season and is much beloved. He should be having it with my team or not at all for all I care. This is why former players are dead to me. This is not a polite viewpoint, which is why I don’t tend to say it to peoples faces. Part of being a little hater sometimes is wanting my team to win and every other team to non-lethally die in a fire (no injuries pls).
To say it’s more realistic that my team can’t win it all may be true but it’s also the exact wrong platitude to say to me because idk I live in a fantasy land where every year could be our year and then by the time playoffs roll around without my team in them, well the sport is dead to me. I’m okay with that. Even beyond that, if you came up to me and said “I know the pens suck but at least Sid hit another milestone” my first instinct is to say “that’s nice, I wish we won.” Can you see where the disconnect and the arguing starts? If I reversed it and said “sorry your boy had a bad game, at least the team won” would you not feel upset because it may not actually be effective at cheering you up. Thats where the perceived wrongness you’re asking about comes from. People with different priorities offering platitudes that don’t work. Personally I’ve seen enough Sid milestones this season that I do think it kinda sucks if he gets the milestone and we still lose the game. I’m pretty sure the entire team feels that way too which is why it was nice that we won Geno’s milestone game.
Okay. Now this. This is a discourse opinion. A lot of single-player-centric fans don’t care if the team is an on fire trash heap so long as no one says a bad word about their blorbo. Usually you can coexist with these fans, but some of them project so hard onto the player that they then take any criticism as criticism against themselves. I’ve seen people start shouting in the lb because “nobody appreciates [player] the way I appreciate him” and “you should all be ashamed of yourselves.” It makes for an unfun environment to be in. I hang out in the lb because I enjoy the vibes of watching hockey in a group. Not to be yelled at when I say “ugh that was a bad play by [player] and the other team scored.” Which is really fucking mild compared to some of the hate I see get thrown around about other players that I’m not repeating.
So no nothing wrong with being a player-first fan. Just think about how you interact with other fans and what vibes you’re putting into the spaces you’re creating and inhabiting. Are you allowing reasonable criticism? Are you lashing out at other fans for “doing fandom wrong?” If other fans are making you feel like you’re doing fandom wrong, I’m very sorry you feel that way and you should probably block them or find other fandom spaces.

fic stats meme!
Rules: Give us the links to your fic with the most hits, second most kudos, third most comments, fourth most bookmarks, fifth most words, and fic with the least words
tagged by the lovely @cowboy-buddie 💖
most hits:
steppin’ into fate (911 Fox)
911 hockey AU my most beloved!!
“What the hell is this?” Evan Buckley storms into the office without knocking, tossing his phone onto the desk.
“The LA Kings have signed forward Eddie Diaz (@EDiaz82) to a five year contract” it reads. Buck doesn’t need to see it to know. He’s stared at it long enough already. There’s a graphic of Eddie Diaz and his stupidly pretty face beneath it, in his old Dallas Stars green and white, mouth open as he skates the puck up the ice. He’d looked at the replies, all of the “omg”s and heart-eyes emojis and 280-character amateur analysis of Diaz’s skills. He’d scrolled until he’d hit the inevitable “so when are we trading buckley?” tweets, and then he’d stormed into Bobby’s office without thinking about it twice.
second most kudos:
stitch my soul (911 Fox)
buddie soulmate au, one of my most favourite fics i’ve ever written
Eddie Diaz has never really put much stock into the concept of "fate". But after his marriage falls apart, he swears that he's not going to go against the universe again. He's going to find his soulmate. He's going to find Evan.
But then he meets Buck, and all of his careful plans start coming apart at the seams.
third most comments:
this is worth forever to me (911 Fox)
“Oh, right,” Buck nods, punching in the digits on autopilot. “Thanks.”
“God,” Eddie mutters, “it’s like I’m your husband.” And Buck’s entire being freezes, for just a moment. The machine beeps at him, and all he can do is stare blankly at it for a moment before flushing and yanking his card out. “Or – wife?” Eddie muses. Buck isn’t even looking at him, but he knows exactly what face he makes. “No, I’m gonna go with husband.”
The cashier is watching them like they’re a particularly riveting television show. All Buck can think to say is, “You’re not hot enough to be my husband.” Lie. The biggest lie in the world.
fourth most bookmarks:
we’ve been here forever (here’s the frozen proof) (Red White&Royal Blue)
Objectively, I am aware that you – a stranger – cannot tell me my own sexuality any better than I can, however... Can you, please? Tell me? It’s 4am and I have been thinking about this for hours, and I can’t sleep.
Warmest regards,
ACD
***
It’s four in the morning, and Alex Claremont-Diaz has managed to follow a research spiral straight down into a personal crisis. It isn’t the first time.
fifth fourth most words:
build my kingdom in the dark (Roswell New Mexico)
i’m still very fond of this one as well <3
Michael meets Alex Manes on a Tuesday.
After everything, after all their chaos and sex and pain and love, that detail sticks with him, for some reason. It’s a Tuesday night, their college-town bar is still packed, and Michael looks up from the beer he’d ordered with his shitty fake ID to find big brown eyes watching him from behind long lashes. A sharp impulse digs into his ribs, and Michael has always been a big fan of following impulses.
fic with least words:
and the sun shall rise again (Red White&Royal Blue)
god i wrote this one so long ago idk how i feel about it haha but it is very sweet
Very frequently Henry wakes up feeling as if he were in a dream.
i am so exhausted rn so idk who to even tag… @eusuntgratie @shitouttabuck @sibylsleaves if y’all want? 💖💖
