Many thoughts in my head in this sleepy morning. Some wholesome (Fox gaining a bit of weight after moving to Alderaan because he's healing), some not so much (Alpha Breha absolutely blowing both Omega Fox's back and mind)
Good morning

w's for the day: maybe not everything is terrible forever
- got the right side shaft buttoned up except for the brake caliper without joe's help
- got the boot cut and tripod joint out, and cleaned up the grease (this made it way easier later)
- tried earnestly and very hard to do something that it took two grown adults like four hours to do. dealt with my frustrations well most of the day.
- finally got that fucking spline apart.
Tumblr media
doesnt show up well in the picture, but there's Victory Sledgehammer damage to that housing. fuck every engineer that designed this stupid thing.
- it didnt actually take too long after we got it apart to put everything back together properly.
- joe put on all my new wiper blades for me
- got like dead on perfect backing the van up and only made a small technically unnecessary adjusment
- it did reduce the noises mary ellen makes
- got cheap gas and wendys on the way home
- hot shower and praying and merthur whumpfic = calmed down w/o ativan
- mum bought ding-dongs so that's what i had for desert
- spent time playing yakuza both by myself and with a friend (💙). i love handing out with c and it's fun w/yakuza bc she's played it before, been to some of the places in the game, and also is just sort of amusedly tolerant of me being weird about majima. BUT also ! i can enjoy it when it's just me ! game good
- didnt ruin my hair working
- twizz came and walked all over me and demanded pets and purred
- i dont have anything due tmmrw
- weed

Stopped by at work with my inflatable T-Rex costume to surprise the residents (and chase coworkers down the halls lmao). I thought it'd scare them, but they got a kick out of it! One resident even took my picture lolol

Set up the baby pen yesterday and Tassie immediately trotted in like "I know what this is!"
Eight days until I'm on the road and nine until I obtain the baby!

Misty has decided that she isn't feeling it today. When I made her come out of her heated blanket to put on a sweater, she immediately went back under said blanket. I made her come out again, with bribes, so we could go outside and she wouldn't step a single foot out the door. I carried her to grass. I suppose the grass was offensively cold, because when she was peeing, she leaned forward to put all her weight on her front legs and hover the back two off the ground

Why Bigger Isn’t Better: The Hidden Dangers of Oversized HVAC Units
When it comes to HVAC systems, most people assume that bigger equals better. A bigger furnace must mean faster heat. A more powerful AC must mean cooler air. Right?
Wrong. In fact, an oversized HVAC system can do more harm than good and could be the reason your energy bills are high, your house feels uncomfortable, or your system wears out faster than expected.
Let’s break it down. Shall We?!
What Does “Oversized” Actually Mean?
An oversized HVAC unit is one that’s too powerful for the space it’s meant to heat or cool. That might sound like a good thing like having extra muscle but in reality, it creates problems.
The Problems With Oversized HVAC Systems
1. Short Cycling
When a system is too large, it heats or cools your home too quickly so it turns on and off repeatedly. This is called short cycling.
Wastes energy
Wears out parts faster
Creates hot and cold spots
Think of it like driving a car in stop-and-go traffic. The constant stopping and starting burns more fuel and stresses the engine.
2. Poor Humidity Control
Cooling the air quickly is one thing but removing moisture takes time. Oversized ACs don’t run long enough to do that properly.
The result?
Sticky, humid air
Mold risk
Discomfort even when the temperature is “right”
3. Uneven Temperature
Fast heating or cooling means some rooms get blasted, while others barely feel it. That’s because the system doesn’t have time to distribute air evenly.
4. Higher Energy Bills
You’d think a more powerful system would be more efficient. Nope. Short cycling + overworking = higher operating costs over time.
5. Faster System Failure
That constant start-stop cycle is brutal on your equipment. Compressors, fans, and other parts wear down faster, which means costly repairs or replacements sooner than you expected. So, What’s the Right Size?
The correct HVAC size depends on:
Square footage
Ceiling height
Insulation quality
Window placement
Sun exposure
And more...
Professional HVAC installers use something called a Manual J Load Calculation to determine the right size system. If your contractor didn’t do this or just “guessed” you might be at risk.
The Bottom Line More power doesn’t mean more comfort. In HVAC, precision matters. A properly sized system will:
Run smoothly
Keep your home comfortable in every room
Last longer
Cost less to operate
Want to Know if Your System Is Oversized? Look out for:
Frequent on/off cycling
High humidity indoors
Uneven heating or cooling
Sky-high energy bills
A system that feels too loud or aggressive
If you’re experiencing these, it might be time to get a second opinion.
