like i know of course the games industry is fucked and EA will continue to make money with impunity but i just. continue to wonder how the fuck they operate as a business if they keep getting caught setting people up to fail on purpose. from a logistical standpoint, do you not want to make money on every product you develop so it’s not a “waste of resources”? do you not understand market research and what appeals to consumers?

like we keep hearing about how they wanted to turn the franchise into something else and the fact that it “”failed to meet expectations”” because they couldn’t adequately course-correct, but i am so baffled how those expectations got set in the first place. how are you a video game company who doesn’t understand the concept of a target audience. why do you keep trying to broaden your appeal when time and again it’s proven that just alienates the people you already had. someone who plays overwatch is never going to come to dragon age for the same thing. the devs who work on it are never going to be able to make something comparable because it’s not the kind of thing they’re used to doing. like who let them think this was a reasonable thing to expect would just. happen

“jinx is just as bad as caitlyn! the double standards with zaunite characters is crazy!” yeah maybe so??? caitlyn, born to a politician of a privileged city, using said citys resources to unjustly attack an entire nation with unnecessary force and police brutality because she’s upset with some of the people that live there holds so much more weight than what jinx does. if caitlyn specifically started targeting JUST jinx with cruelty it’d maybe be different but she’s attacking a whole city of innocent people. and if your knee jerk reaction to that is “they weren’t all innocent” i’m going to need you to sit with yourself and contemplate wether you seriously think attacking a bunch of people simply because there’s a CHANCE one of them might be guilty of something is reasonable. where a character in arcane is from is important to every and i mean EVERY action they take. “it isnt that deep” oh but it is!! the sociopolitical conflict between zaun and piltover is literally one of the pillars the show is built off of!

imagine the group of them acting as saviors, swooping mc up or meeting her in some other similar, very power-imbalanced way while she’s braving the dystopian world alone. maybe she starts off with her gege caleb; maybe she starts off with a catch-22-like sylus as her mentor/protector; but i especially like the idea of her just being taken under their collective wing, and then their group slowly crumbles apart when they realize they’re really really into this cute new addition to their gritty, blood-soaked lives— yet they’re not particularly comfy with the idea of the other guys capturing her full loyalty and affection before one claims it for himself.

Whenever HWWIW is complete (or even before, lol, it depends) i think i want to start a nice lil series like this hehe 👀

though it was buried beneath years of longing and pining, it was always there with him. from the moment their paths converged—carmine eyes meeting the honeycombed ones of another—kazuha would never know what it meant to be “alone,” so long as he was tethered to the one he believed he could never go on living without. but being together with her was painful, in its own twisted yet beautiful way. despite loathing himself to think as such, it was almost a burden to remain at her side and not ever feel a need for something more. even when all kazuha ever wanted was just that.

he should be happy, overfilled with a joy that is beyond measure, right? so why — why is there a heartache dwelling deep inside him?

the truth is.. the wandering ronin now cannot bear to fathom the thought of leaving behind his beloved to continue his travels, knowing that every view he’ll see will feel incomplete without her. a heart truly is a heavy burden.

Darlin’ & Sam aren’t too fond of repurchasing things. They’re wearing items down until they’re practically unusable or when it becomes a hazard (Darlin being on the intense spectrum of this, naturally).

It’s definitely an emphasis on lasting life rather than novelty or visuals. If it works long term—they’re buying it.

Regardless, Sam every now and then has to convince Darlin that an item is well past its use. Especially when it comes to chargers. Darlin tends to duct tape the broken ends together, until it’s basically a bunch of tape coiled around a charger. It’s definitely a fire-hazard, but Darlin’s a bit stubborn. Clearly.
