Okay adding onto the Ford tilting his head thing uhhh I'm just going to ramble with whatever pops into my head because I have Nothing currently so hmmmm

I can imagine him doing that with like. Everything. I do the same thing so if anything catches my eye or I hear something I immediately tilt my head and I can see him being the same way. The catci meow? Head tilt. That sort of thing. I could also see it being an indicator for if he's truly interested in something or not. Head tilt = interested. No head tilt = he's not listening to a word they're saying.

Adding onto that, I like thinking about how his body language is. One of my favorite headcanons I have is that when he's feeling unsure of something he immediately tries to make himself look bigger. So like clasping his hands behind his back because it forces his shoulders back and he doesn't even realize he does it. He does that in canon but I like to think about it deeper that just "he does that" yknow? Very owl coded tbh.

Ooooh okay owl coded I'm on a roll here okay so. With being owl coded. I could see him having a Lot of behaviors like that it suits him so well?? I'd like to hear your thoughts on that too I think you could expand on that better than I can 😭 as soon as I wrote the first sentence of this paragraph Everything left my brain so apologies. Love the head tilt to indicate how interesting he finds something, that's so sweet!

He definitely puffs himself up. I love when he puffs his chest out in the show, and it's one of my favourite characteristics to write him as doing because it's so diverse. He's making himself look more intimidating or he's just proud and pleased, or he's challenging some threat etc. It's so cute to picture him doing it. And it's definitely an unconscious thing too. He doesn't intentionally do it at all, it just sort of happens.

I know owls (like most birds) preen a lot, too. Applying the characteristic to a human makes it a very different action (typically it means to make oneself attractive), but the idea of Ford preening under praise (puffing his chest out, fixing his hair absentmindedly, just looking very pleased about it all) is sooooooo cute.

Also, applying cartoon rules here, thinking about him getting all ruffled?? Like in Ghibli movies where the main character gets all spiky at the edges because they're experiencing an intense emotion?? UGH. When he gets super flustered or embarrassed or whatever etc, he gets all puffy haha.

Big, wide-eyed, slow blinks when he's kind of caught off guard about something vs a very intense laser-focused scowl when he's really paying attention to something.

Staying up all night/a preference for nocturnal activity, of course.

He is just very owlish and that's adorable to me. Grown ass man, btw.
