Random Topic: Sleepychat Closing For Good

Sleepychat was the first hypnosis community I got into. I met a bunch of new people and knew the majority of everyone on that chat site for years. It’s unfortunate that they are closing the site down entirely. It honestly upsets me that they are getting rid of it, instead of passing it down to another owner or maybe even passing it back to its original owner, MrMeapify (I mean if he still would want it). It just makes me sad because all of MrMeapify’s hard work to make the site is all going away. Like all that hard work, gone. All for nothing.

“The reasons being, most notably, that it's become more of a hassle for me than any benefits can offset, that I'm losing money by paying for the hosting, logging, and database, and that I'm finally deciding that I have no obligation to keep it running through said hassle and financial loss.“ - Ely (current owner of SC).

Yeah, that’s understandable, the whole money thing. However, there were many bugs on the site and many people left after that and did not support the site as much. Why? Because Ely, the current owner of Sleepychat, did not do anything to fix those bugs. Yeah, he fixed some bugs, but not the major ones. Which made the majority of the supporters leave. Ely tried to make everyone happy by putting out Sleepychat 2.0, because ever since SC started there were jokes about Sleepchat 2.0 but it never came to be until Christmas 2017. However, 2.0 came along with a bunch of bugs because it was never exactly finished. It was originally MrMeapify’s work for SC 2.0, if I remember correctly? (Could be wrong). So when Ely took over SC, he took that idea and made SC 2.0, cool idea and such, but it didn’t go that well due to bugs. Certain bugs were never fixed. 

I mean Ely should have known that taking over a website and being its owner would bring a lot of responsibility. Maybe he did know but obviously, there would be financial difficulties. However, the fact that he did not try to fix anything with SC 2.0 for the year/year and a half it was up was probably Sleepychat’s downfall.

I’m not a frequent Reddit browser but what is so wrong with advertising a new website? I mean I’d get it if it was on a r/sleepychat thing with advertising but if it was just in general on Reddit, what’s wrong with it? This quote is very passive aggressive, it’s hilarious. I know the drama that went down with what he is talking about. Honestly, with how the drama was handled with everyone involved, it was done poorly and very immaturely. This quote leaks into the drama of what happened. It clearly did not need to be stated. I mean to me, it shows how immature and bitter Ely truly is. 

“Call me a horrible human being for not saying sorry, but I no longer feel any attachment to the site or its community, and it's nothing to me but stress now.” - Ely.

Ely is not a horrible human being. Just when he says that he no longer feels attached or interested or invested in the community and that it only brings stress and that’s one of the main reasons why he’s closing SC? It feels selfish, I mean mostly because if he’s not attached or interested in it then why not pass it down to someone else to keep it going? He has had time to think about who he could pass it down to and who would be willing to take care of it. I mean it makes sense that he doesn’t trust anyone to pass it down to but then again if he looked past the drama and actually truly cared about the hypno community, he would have kept SC going and put aside the drama. I probably would have because I put others first rather than putting myself first. I care a lot about people and their happiness comes first to me.

That whole message just shows how much he truly “cared” for the hypno community and his site. He rather would have SC shut down than either pass it down to someone he trusts or put aside the drama that has happened and pass it down to them and move on. Ely is too stubborn and immature to put differences aside and move on. If it truly was a burden on him then he wouldn’t have cared and passed it down to the person he was planning to pass it down to, ignoring the drama that happened between the two. I know the drama that happened, I was there when it happened, so it isn’t like I’m clueless. The drama wasn’t even a big deal, it honestly could have been settled if both parties sat down and talked to each other. That’s why I’m saying that Ely could have set aside the drama and passed it down to the other person. But did he? No, because he has to be arrogant and think that he’s above the other person. Anyways, I just think the whole thing is selfish in my opinion. It’s understandable, where he’s coming from and why he’s shutting it down but I feel like he’s taking himself more so into consideration than the actual community.

The good news that came from the drama? Well, a new site came out from it. It’s like the old SC but obviously has more perks and isn’t buggy. It’s called Dreamychat if you all haven’t heard of it. Emily, the owner of DC, is really nice. She’s an amazing person to talk to :D She’s always willing to help those and is always active so you can always talk to her. The mods are all my friends, except for like one or two I don’t know. But they are very sweet and awesome to talk to. Except for @jonsmisu , he’s a mod there and he is very lame :P lol jk jk <3 I love JonSmisu :P XD he’s my secret hubby, lol jk jk XD I’m glad that there is another site like SC to turn to instead of not knowing where to go specifically. If you haven’t heard of Dreamychat, you guys should check it out. Everyone is friendly there.

I will truly miss Sleepychat and everyone that was on it. Even Ely, even though I didn’t know him on a personal level. I don’t hold grudges and I’m not thinking that Ely is a horrible person, just very immature. Along with the other party from the drama. They both were at fault. Not picking sides. But just analyzed everything and this is what I came up with. I love the mods from SC too, so I hope to keep in touch with them. Anyways, SC was a great site. I’m gonna miss it. It’ll forever be in my heart <3 :D

I personally recommend going to Dreamychat if you all don’t know where else to go after SC closes. I support Dreamychat because it seems more functional and invested in the community... than SC. But anyways, thank you guys :D

My photos didn’t give them Justice so I did a screenshot of my fantasy BD cake. The young woman in line with hubby n buggy was saying to herself, “Happy Valentine’s Day to me times 3” as her husband paid for her purchase. The strawberry one had a strawberry filling. Honestly each cupcake was is a small work of art in its own little dome. Wish I had that big a sweet tooth. I did however hit up Midnight Salsa for a few samples. From there headed home via @publix Midtown. Now it’s hug a mug of coffee time while I watch CBS Saturday. Yes, it does seem like a long time. I’ve missed writing and reading all of your posts. It was due to health issues which I’ll unveil in this post. It may require a few days of  posting.

Everyone is in the midst of this horrific virus COVID 19. I don’t want to talk about preventions or the illness as I’m not an expert. I’ll be discussing my personal experience with this virus.

The holidays were in full swing, as was I, when I posted ‘A Christmas Wish for You’. Christmas is the time of year to catch up with family and friends we haven’t seen.            Hubby and I were getting ready for a New Year’s Eve cruise too. It would be our 20th cruise. Quite fitting, that we’d be celebrating the ‘New Year’ of 2020 on our 20th cruise.

We’ve travel on various cruise lines. Our travel agent is aware that we enjoy cruising as our main form of travel. From time to time, she texts or e mails cruises she believes we might enjoy. They’re a bit difficult to resist when I see them in my in-box. 

A special deal arrived in one of those e mails for an 8 day cruise beginning the 28th of December on the Costa Luminosa. It would be our 1st time on this cruise line. The agent hadn’t traveled on this line either. She couldn’t give me too many details or logistics but we felt confident that it would be a good choice and it could be a bit of an adventure to try this new ship line. Since hubby’s favorite food is Italian food, I felt he’d savor the food.                We booked.

We boarded at 3:00 p.m. on the 28 of December at Port Everglades from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The ship would be leaving port at 11:00 p.m. It was a bit later then other cruise lines we’d traveled with but each one sets their own departure time.

It’s always exciting when you first board a ship. The bright lights, the different decor from one cruise ship line to another, the colors, the crew and the prospect of what your room will be like.  We’d booked a suite for the first time. After all, it was our 20th cruise and our Christmas gifts to each other; so, we thought we’d go big. 

Because the rooms weren’t ready yet the crew directed everyone to enjoy browsing the ship for locations of the pool, spa, theater, dining room, night spots, etc. and encourage everyone to have a bite to eat at the buffet.

Eventually, we made our way to our room when we heard a couple say, “The rooms were ready.”

We were very disappointed with the room. It was the same size as a balcony. There was supposed to be a small table for in the room for dining in the room. Nope, there wasn’t one. We thought we’d check with the front desk the following day. We knew we wouldn’t be able to change our room due to a fully booked ship but we were curious as to whether or not it was a suite.

Since we were docking at the Dominican Republic the next day, an island we enjoy visiting since the people are very friendly plus we’d missed a few places on prior visits, and since we’d been on-the-go from 6:00 a.m., we decided to go back to the room and skip our normal after dinner theater show the first night.

The following day, we took a historic tour of the DR. We had a nice covered buggy bike ride with our happy bicyclist named Mario. The turquoise blue Caribbean water with the sun glowing on it was magical.

One of the gallery shop we toured had wonderful handmade items from local artists. I couldn’t resist the colorful tote below.

After a long day, we were back on-board with enough time for a shower, cocktails before dinner, our dinner and a show. It was a full day of activity.

Our days continued like this everyday except for two islands we decided to skip because we’d visited them before. We were beginning to feel a bit tired too. We assumed we’d been doing too much. Our bodies were in need of rest, so the pool, leisure lunches, spa treatments, rest on our balcony with a good book and naps replaced those touring days.

The saga with COVID 19 and Me will continue … come on back for the next chapter …

Would you mind sharing what other games you have on your steam wishlist? I am always looking for new interesting games. =]

Sure! Though I have to point out that since they’re on my wish list, I’ve not tried them. In many cases, I barely know anything about them other than “Hm, this looks interesting to me right now in this moment!” I can’t vouch for anything beyond it catching my attention at the time I added it. BUT LET’S SEE. Games in the order they currently are on my wish list.

Puzzle Quest. I played this a bunch on the 360 but it’s not on sale, it’s never on sale, please go on sale one day.

The Amber Throne. I can’t remember anything about this.

Tales from the Borderlands. I really like Telltale Games.

Game of Thrones - A Telltale Game Series. See above.

ADOM (Ancient Domains Of Mystery) ???

Tyranny. An RPG by Obsidian (Pillars of Eternity) where you play the side of evil and fight good. I’ve really wanted this one for a while now, I may finally pull the trigger.

Valley. Dunno!

Thea: The Awakening. No clue!

Firewatch. Another I’ve been really interested in for a while. Story and mystery-heavy where you’re a ranger in Wyoming with only the person on the other end of your radio to help you. I’ve been considering suggesting this for a the Life is Strange replacement.

Master of Orion. We had this a million years ago and Hubby seems to feel certain I liked it, so okay, onto the wish list you go.

Novus Inceptio. YOU SURE HAVE A FANCY NAME FRIEND. Completely can’t remember what you’re about.

Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! Okay I fucking loved the first Cook Serve Delicious and I don’t even care. I’ve had the sequel on my wish list for like eighteen months and one day, ONE DAY, it will be released and mine.

Planetbase. I like space games, I dunno guys.

Project Highrise. I’m guessing this is a Sim Tower kind of thing. I also really like building and strategy games and shit and regret nothing.

Divinity: Original Sin 2. I can’t remember what this is, but I crack up whenever games have seemingly contradictory name elements such as “original’ and “2″.

LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens. You will pry the LEGO games from my cold dead fingers.

Windward. I think this is a pirate kind of game maybe? Man, I loved Sid Meyer’s Pirates!.

Renowned Explorers: International Society. I hope the game is good enough to support the pomposity of its title.

The Witness. Shiny and chrome? Look I can’t remember what any of this shit is.

Dead Man’s Draw. A card game. That’s all I got. Steam has it for $3.49 right now though, so I mean, damn.

Starbound. DID I MENTION I LIKE GAMES IN SPACE

Folk Tale. I think this is some anthropomorphic RPG?

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. A JRPG, I think, and I seem to remember it being really well loved in the reviews, but I can’t remember anything else.

Rocket League. Soccer, with race car dune buggy things. ACTUALLY SUPER FUN. I played Hubby’s a lot and just never got around to buying it for me.

Child of Light. SHRUG

Rebuild 3: Gangs of Deadsville. I think this is a town-builder with a zombie twist? I like that shit, too.

Epic Battle Fantasy 4. I think this is one of those deeply indy games made with Game Maker Studio or something. Also super cheap at $3.49 right now.

Armello. Your guess is as good as mine.

XCOM 2. Looooved the first XCOM. Fucking love grid-based strategy games. All of my characters were, of course, Senshi. One day, they’ll lower this to the price I want to pay for it.

No Man’s Sky. The hype train kind of killed this before it could even get started, I think, but I still love the concept. As with above, one day they’ll drop it to the price I’m willing to pay.

The Banner Saga 2. Another grid turn-based strategy game with gorgeous animation and a Norse-themed story with death and sadness everywhere. I love the first Banner Saga, even as I never finished it. ONE DAY.

Stellaris. More space shit I think.

Dog Sled Saga. IT’S CALLED “DOG SLED SAGA” COME ON.

Stories: The Path of Destines. No idea, but I love the title.

Holy Hannah! I spent my holiday weekend at the symphony (Final Fantasy: Distant Lands - SO GOOD!), playing on the lake for the first boat trip of the season, and paintballing my little heart out and generally hanging out with my irlbgf - and yet while I was away, I was tagged by some of my favourite, absolutely amazing wonderful lovely fellow Buggies in the fun 

I promise I wasn’t ignoring you! I love you all and I would like to answer all five of you - so that's 55 questions instead of just 11. That means that I DEFINITELY have to put it under a cut because it will eat up your dashboard and maybe some of you aren't all that interested in my answers. lol.

1. What’s your favourite piece of clothing you own?  

I have a pair of black velour pajama pants. It is my most favourite things in the world. They feel like velvet.

2. What fictional place would you most like to go?

The Starship Enterprise. The Future and the Federation seems like a pretty groovy society to live in.

3. What’s the best way to start the day?

With overnight updates to all your favourite Bughead fics that you MUST read and review before getting into the shower.

4. What TV show or movie do you refuse to watch?

I'm not into Fifty Shades of Gray. I mean - I have no problem with BDSM - I simply have a problem with bad writing.

5. What are you most looking forward to in the next 10 years?

My kids are growing up! Within the next ten years all three of my kids will be gone/leaving for college. I'll be an empty nester with my super dreamy hubby.

6. What city would you most like to live in?

I love where I live - Calgary is the best - but other than just saying "here" - I guess I'd choose London.

7. What movie title best describes your life?

It's a Wonderful Life.

8. What irrational fear do you have?

Clowns. I hate them. My husband tells me that it's an irrational fear all the time - but it doesn't FEEL irrational.

9. In your group of friends, what role do you play?

I'm generally the centre of attention. In real life, I want people to be comfortable and as engaged as I am - so I talk a lot and ask lots of questions so that they'll feel more comfortable sharing as well. People like me - oftentimes more than I like them. In fandom life I'm kinda like that too - but I like to play the roll of the cheerleader and support and over excited and passionate fangirl. In general, I like being /nice/ and I get something out of people loving me as much as I adore them. 

10. What are you most insecure about?

Um... the same physical insecurities that most people have. I guess that I'll be so over-the-top that people will think I'm fake or that I'm silly.

11. What are you most likely to become famous for?

I'm technically writing a novel... that will probably never be published. But I guess that's the only ever way I'd be famous.

Nanaimo Bars.

4. Biggest regret?

After my BA I should have gone to Grad school. Or I should have become a Dental Hygenist or something - but I got a History Degree because I love History. I don't work in that field at all so even though I spent $50,000 to become an official Historian... I could have become something else, that would have probably made me a lot happier than what I'm doing and remained an amateur Historian.

5. You’ve been put in the middle of a fantasy battle, what is your weapon of choice?

Double edged lightsaber.

Not counting my favourite pajama pants... I have this super cute red and gold paisley handkerchief shirt I bought in Mexico. I love it.

Twice. I was lucky enough to find my sweetheart when I was 19 years old. The love I felt for the bloke before Jay was minuscule in comparison to what I feel for my husband - but it was still love.

I can’t answer that. I read too many delicious things.

I remember my fourth birthday party really clearly.

Dude. Kevin Keller is a gay, male version of me. And my brother and husband are cops so I relate to that part of him too. lol.

If I could keep my happy family and my morals - then sure.

How about that $50,000 piece of paper I have hanging on my office wall that announces to the world that I’m officially allowed to have an opinion on British History along with the roots and causes of Totalitarianism. Getting that was pretty great.

Asked earlier - but I’d say the Star Trek universe would be the place to be.

Crafted by Moschino’s head fashion designer, Jeremy Scott, the buggy comes complete with glitzy gold frame, trekking wheels with blingy gold spokes and, what every pram needs, shiny gold angel wings on the hood. Unsurprisingly, the fancy pants pram well set you back a pretty package with the frame alone costing a whopping $2,799 AUD (around £1600). And Nicky Hilton is one of the first celebrities to step out with hers. ‘Pram Goals’ one envious parent commented on the picture Nicky posted on Instagram taking baby, Lila-Grace for a stroll in her supped up pram. Foster animals update 11/08/16- the end of the year. Hi guys! Sorry I've been in a hole, but the election really threw me for a loop, and my hubby accidentally let Charlotte out the same night and I couldn't get her back. She was gone for a solid month and I was beginning to give up hope, but I saw her twice on December 7th. She would meow to me, but not come to me, so I set a live trap, and thank God, the next morning she was in it!! She's so thrilled to be home that she's become my shadow and never tries to dart out the door anymore! We did have a scare with her when I was out of state for Christmas. Turns out she was dangerously constipated. Hopefully, that will resolve itself soon, she seems okay now. As for the fosters... I took Evangeline, Lily, and Hope to the special needs shelter. Hope and Evangeline were adopted together by a doctor. The lovely family who house/pet sits for us when we go out of town are considering adopting Lily, but have not made a final decision yet. They are concerned about their young kids if Lily had a short life. I was granted a second miracle in December (Charlotte's return being the first), when Marigold FINALLY GOT ADOPTED!!!! Her not so great Foster had only taken her to one adoption event, but she went to Tesha's house as a temporary when her foster went on vacation. The weekend of the 17th and 18th were my last chance to get her a home before Christmas. There was a Dad totally in love with her (she was even meowing to him and reaching through the bars to him), but the mom went with a different cat. When I saw them with their buggy full of goodies for their new cat, I almost cried! Another lady was interested, but only took a card. Then, a red-haired mom, carrying her red-haired little one walked straight to Marigold's cage. The little boy pointed to Marigold and said, "Is that my kitty?". My heart just about melted on the spot! They didn't even look at any other cats, just immediately filled out the paperwork for Marigold. She has texted me a few times showing pics of Marigold and letting me know how well she's fitting in and how much they all love her ❤️ While going to adoption events in December, I saw a few familiar faces. The set of 4 pictures are before and after shots of Ernie (who turned out to be Ernestine), and Robbie (AKA worst eyes I've ever seen). They were part of that litter of 5 I took in in July who had to go back to Renee's because they all had ringworm. The other 3 have been adopted. I wouldn't be surprised if Renee keeps Robbie. The last two pics are before and after of Puddin' Pie. I transported her to the emergency clinic last summer. Severe upper respiratory infection that nearly killed her. I also watched her when her foster was on vacation. She also got ringworm a couple of months later so she's now cleared and up for adoption. As far as I know, all other cats I've helped with have been adopted. I reviewed all the numbers and I helped with 48 different cats and kittens last year. I was the primary foster for 30 of them, a secondary or temporary foster for 12. I had 5 ferals fixed and released (6 of my primary Foster total and 2 of my secondary total are their kittens who were placed in adoptive homes). And one poor angel that I found injured in the street, didn't make it. We adopted 3; Jax, Charlotte, and Nugget. My shortest primary Foster was one day! My longest was nearly 6 months with an adoption and return factored in. 3 kittens didn't make it, but 45 did! It has been a privilege and I've enjoyed it more than I can say. I won't be able to take it any more fosters because of Nugget's s FeLV, but I will continue to help with adoptions. They're also saying I will be the "new Foster" educator, and there's talk of some school outreach opportunities. Hopefully I can still help in a different way.

Why is our group health insurance so much more expensive than getting an individual plan privately?

My husband gets insurance through his work, and they take out $170 a week (he gets paid weekly). So that totals about $730 a month for us and our kids plus maternity benefits. Basically my hubby took out insurance about 10 months ago with a new insurance company. He had 4 years no claims with his old company so informed the new company of this. The new insurance company have been taking out the payments every month from our bank however we have never had his insurance documents off them. When he contacted them the other day to query this they informed him that because the old insurance company will not supply them with no claims info they can not cover him. However all this time and even today they have taken their monthly payment. Surely they should not be taking payments for something they are saying they can not cover?? My question is should they have cancelled the agreement before now then and ceased taking money from our account?

License expired 6 months ago and I have kept up with insurance even though my vehicle just sits in a garage. I'm in NYC and in college so there is no reason for me to drive for the past 2 years. My insurance company renews the policy every 6 months and my insurance rate is still that of Upstate NY where it is at least $1,600 cheaper. NYC is $600 more and I was told that I would have to cover my brother who is under 25 (not allowed to drive my car nor want to) just because we share the same address. There was a recent question asking whether it would be safe to give a child like myself a car like the M3 or the Nissan GTR. However, I feel as though such a generalized statement is grossly inappropriate. I feel that responsibility in an automobile should fully be determined by ones own experience and responsibility, as opposed to strictly ones age. For example, I have shifter cart racing experience, have taken multiple high performance driving courses from some of the best. (Truly recommend Bondurant's program BTW). I have over a 4.0 GPA, and am editor and director of an online magazine and our school's paper. I make a decent wage from a job and business that I created myself, and have learned marketing and advertising from some of the best in the field (anyone heard of the oldspice commercials?). My own determination has lead to success and my ability to reward myself with a highly exclusive and phenomonal driving machine. On the other hand, no one would doubt the maturity or ability of a man thrice my age attempting to buy the same vehicle, who had never driven on a track, who had never used ABS, and who had never learned the evasive driving techniques necessary to driving such an automobile. Herein lies the problem. In the previous discussion on this same topic, the driving of a GTR by someone my own age was likened to handing someone like myself a loaded .44 Magnum. However, this in itself is a stereotype. I am a nationally ranked rifle competitor who knows how to build, much less safely use, a .44 Magnum. I am a member of USA Shooting and the NRA and CMP competitive shooting divisions. How is handing me a loaded .44 any less safe than handing some retired man who has never held a gun the same pistol? I was in an accident three weeks ago. It was the other car's fault. There were no injuries. We didn't call the police, but I got a written statement from the other driver admitting fault. I got her car and insurance information and filed a claim with her insurance. They sent an appraiser and I got an estimate for the damages. So all that is left now is for the insurance to approve the estimate and send me a check. But they have the signed statement from her admitting fault. The agent in charge of my claim doesn't even pick up the phone or return my calls, I just talk to the operator who can't really give me any answers. ok so i was driving my brothers car and i have my g1 i went to money mart and back home about an hour later police came knocking on my door asking if my brother was in a car accident so we went down to the station and the officer asked if i was driving his car i said yes , he then said that the other man that was sitting in the station got my plates and said i hit his car and cracked his bumper (very minor crack) so i said no and then officer assumed i was lying and made me write up an accident report. after when i was leaving the station the other guy asked if we could solving this without going through insurance so we exchanged numbers (their was no damage at all to my brothers car & no paint or anything on their car to prove i hit it) the next day they called and said the want a whole new bumper they dont want it patched up and they would get me a price quote they then got me a quote for $1475 for a while new bumper from ford i told them im not paying that much the only way im replacing the bumper is if my mechanic does it he said ok so i went to my mechanic told him the whole situation and he said i shouldnt be replacing the whole bumper for somthing that small but he still ordered the bumper for me i had to put a $400 down payment for the bumper and $300 after its put on. the bumper came in 2 days later and they brought their car for it to be put on when we got there they got pissed off and said this isnt a bumper straight from ford and they dont want it and left ( the bumper was brand new for the same model car and had the exact paint coat match just that it wasnt from ford) they then call me threating to take it through insurance if we dont get it from ford so i lost the $400 down payment for the bumper because they cant return it after its painted so i told my mechanic to order it from ford. but when he called for they said the dont have bumpers for that model anymore, i then call the people back and told them to take it through insurance because my mechanic cant get that bumper.
