Unrelated but I hate that when I have a bad stomach flare up I get super thirsty so I chug like 20-24oz of water in a half hour only for it to IMMEDIATELY leave my body in like 20 minutes and I get thirsty again and it repeats so I end up drinking like 125oz of fluids in a day (all fluids not just water but like over half of it is plain water) and am probably doing some kinda damage.
WebMD says to drink less fluids BITCH fuck off my chest is like a fish and Im tired

Bless you for writing the horny BuckTommy WS fic I needed. I absolutely loved it. I'm not gonna lie, I love bottoming when I have a full bladder and trying to keep it in while my bladder and prostate are being pushed against.
Side Note for horny people: Do NOT drink as much water as Buck did in real life. It can lead to something called Water Intoxication or Hyperhydration. Its not a good thing to have happen. You feel drunk and your cells are essentially overfilling with water and its affecting how your brain works. This has been a PSA from someone who nearly died from drinking too much water in a short period. Keep the horny stuff like this to just the written word and not real life.
i’m glad you liked it!
also yes! i always assume people will recognize this-is-a-fantasy-please-don’t-do-this-in-real-life smut when they see it but those lines aren’t always super clear. guys! don’t drink too much water!

How drinking too much water can be dangerous, even deadly?
In general, a healthy adult needs three to four liters of water per day under normal conditions. which also includes water in food and other drinks. for all the major body functions. Water plays a vital role. But if we are drinking too much water, it is not considered good for our health. Drinking too much water can lead to intoxication and may cause health problems in the long run. For details click on: https://maansisurvivalaidfoundation.com/drinking-too-much-water-not-good/

If the creatine helps but you're committed to stopping occasionally , you might want to try something like glycerol, which, like creatine, helps with hyperhydration. otoh, it's like sand
Having seen 90s nerd nootropics culture slide gradually into bodybuilding I guess I shouldn't be surprised how many people have recommendations to add to my stack

I also watched the video, but I think it's a little misleading. Hyperhydration is really rare and mostly happens to athletes who drink a lot of water, but not enough electrolytes. Generally, your body can only absorb a limited amount of water in a small timeframe. So drinking more than a liter in an hour doesn't do much good. The best thing is to drink small portions spread over the whole day.
Personally, I tend to forget to drink water, if there isn't some within reach. I do get thirsty, but I don't notice it until it's so bad that I already have a headache because I haven't drunk anything all day. So my solution is to always carry a water bottle with me. I don't drink, if I'm not thirsty, but in case I am, it doesn't require additional effort to drink something.
Hydration rules by random tumblr user without any expertise:
Anything between 1 liter and 4 liters a day is probably fine for a healthy adult
Drink more if you're losing a lot of water (illness, sport, heat, etc.)
If you struggle to drink anything at all, try eating foods that contain a lot of water (watermelon, cucumber, etc.)
Don't drink huge amounts of water at once.
Every person is different, do what works for you

Dry skin season
I dislike fall/winter because I have to spend half of it scratching myself in my sleep and the other half reaching max daily dosages on my allergy/anxiety meds because my skin is so fucking dry.
I get, "you need to hydrate better."
I can't hydrate more without becoming hyperhydrated. I'm already floating around an armada of kidney stones in all the water I have to drink.
I really want to find something that kills the desire to scratch and makes it so it doesn't look like it's snowing when I take off my wool work socks.
I'm already maxed on my hydroxyzine for anxiety and allergies. And my legs still fucking itch.

‘ did you know that you could die from drinking too much water ? it’s called water intoxication or hyperhydration, and it occurs when there is a disturbance in brain functions that results when the normal balance of electrolytes in the body is pushed outside safe limits by excessive water intake. andy warhol was said to have died from it as, allegedly, the hospital that removed his gallbladder gave him an excess amount of liquids. ’

Sodium fluoride (NaF) is found in oatmeal and potatoes. You can also find it in shrimp. I mean, too much will harm you, but that's true of literally any substance, including water. (And no, I'm not talking about drowning: People have died of hyperhydration.) But the amount added to water is nowhere near toxic levels.
So apparently RFK Jr. (the unhinged anti-vaxxer who Trump intends to appoint to control of public health) wants to remove flouride from public water in America the DAY Trump takes office (if he wins).
He claims flouride is "industrial waste associated with arthritis, bone fractures, bone cancer, IQ loss, neurodevelopmental disorders, and thyroid disease".
In reality, it is simply put in public water to improve people's oral health. It only has any negative effects on bones and joints if it's consumed in excessive quantities for many years—far more than what the average person would get from public water in their lifetime.

I love pizza, so much that I eat it once a week. The problem is that, after eating it, I get extremely thirsty and end up drinking so much water that I think I’m near the limit of suffering hyperhydration.

#I mean they are but afaik the electrolyte drinks are mostly still a scam right?#like at most you might need more potassium but otherwise simple salt and sugar works quite fine
you don't even need salt during endurance activity:
Is sodium supplementation necessary? [...] it has been demonstrated that supplemental sodium is not necessary to maintain proper hydration during prolonged exercise up to 30 hr even under hot conditions (Hoffman & Stuempfle, 2014, 2015b, 2016b). It is thought that the sodium consumed during meals should be adequate to replace losses during routine exercise (Casa et al., 2015) and the sodium consumed with the typical race diet during an ultra-endurance event appears adequate for avoidance of salt-depletion hypohydration (Hoffman & Stuempfle, 2015b, 2016b). Sodium intake during exercise will also not prevent EAH in the presence of hyperhydration (Hoffman & Myers, 2015a; Hoffman et al., 2015a), but excessive sodium intake may actually increase the risk of developing EAH (Hoffman & Myers, 2015a; Hoffman et al., 2015a) or pulmonary edema (Luks, Robertson, & Swenson, 2007). Thus, excessive sodium supplementation should be avoided during ultra-endurance activities (Hew-Butler et al., 2015) and should not be used with the intention to replace all losses during the exercise.
Martin D. Hoffman, Trent Stellingwerff & Ricardo J.S. Costa (2018): Considerations for ultra-endurance activities: part 2 – hydration, Research in Sports Medicine, DOI: 10.1080/15438627.2018.1502189
[EAH is 'exercise-induced hyponatremia', ie, low blood sodium caused by exercise]
the amount of water and calorie you need to intake during sports/athletics/exercise is more than none & less than gatorade wants it to be [tldr: drink if you are thirsty]; the amount of salt you need is, apparently, very very little.
an overview, that's on the easier side of papers, about hydration, sodium, and endurance sports Rehydration during Endurance Exercise: Challenges, Research, Options, Methods
i ran regularly for a while, and started getting headaches post-run when my long runs reach 10+ miles. started taking electrolyte tablets during the runs and my headaches went away. after a few months of the tablets, i read that paper, and decided to try running without the tablets; to my surprise, no headaches!
turns out you can just get headaches from increasing mileage, and they stop happening after a while.
i am not a doctor, i am not a person with any real nutrition background; i am just some asshole who likes looking at papers.
I'm always so surprised to remember that electrolytes are real and not something literally made up to sell more gatorade
