Hi I'm Lauren I'm new to this app, I'm just trying to make some friends. Can i be your friend?

so as a semi-popular blog i tend to get a lot of scam asks, but this is actually a type of scam i've never encountered on tumblr before, so i'm going to make kind of an in-depth post/psa instead of just the usual short "this is a scam" response i usually give.

usually, tumblr scammers tend to follow a few easy signs:

blog less than a week old because they use them for like a week before discarding/being banned and then remaking

fundraiser post for cause that's meant to tug at the heartstrings (cute pet that needs medical treatment, single mother trying to provide for kids, queer teen who got kicked out, etc)

pictures are stolen off facebook or gofundme, oftentimes from an actual, legitimate fundraiser (this is so scummy)

paypal country code does not match with the country they state they're in

spams asks to random blogs telling their backstory and asking for donations or reblogs of their donation post, often with a request to answer privately (so the spamming doesn't show up if you search their url)

those are donation scams, and i get them in my inbox about once every week or two. they're the most common type of scam on tumblr.

THIS asker didn't mention any kind of money, or donations, or backstory. just "can i be your friend". they have no fundraiser post or in fact any original posts at all, and their blog is almost a year old with consistent activity. seems kind of normal at first glance, if a little awkward, but this is actually the beginning to what's referred to as a "pig butchering scam".

pig butchering scams can be either romance-based or friendship-based. they involve an innocuous-seeming interaction developing into a relationship, and once the scammer thinks they have your trust, they start asking for money, using that built trust as the basis. you would lend a friend some money in an emergency if they promise to pay it back quickly if you could, right?

pig butchers are definitely harder to spot than donation scammers, but there are some clear signs if you look closely enough.

the out-of-nowhere nature of the ask was what got me initially suspicious, so i searched her url. this is what that search looks like.

clearly not a user trying to actually make friends, and instead a spammer. a couple people there have already pointed out this is a pig butchering scam.

a few weeks ago, she was even bolder and doing a more donation-scam approach:

@kyra45 even posted about this as far back as september, and apparently the scammer was a blank blog back then:

if a tumblr search yields little results, you can also google someone's url. a google search led to this post with a user who got into the actual pig butchering part of the scam, developing a relationship before trying for money.

another, far less obvious tell is that she's following loads of bots, mixed in with normal users she's following. while i'm unsure if this user is a bot herself (i'm leaning toward a mixed use of a bot to send asks and personal replies once she gets a bite), normal users don't just... follow random bot/SEO accounts.

she also has a second, identical account at @pleasantdesttinykkryptonite, the same url with an extra k. possibly a backup in case she gets banned.

What is this blog?

So, back in March 2025, @elodieunderglass ran a little event where, if you completed a creative project of some description by the end of the month, Killie would get one whole egg!

This surpassed all expectations, and Killie ended up getting over one hundred and fifty eggs by the time March ended, and we got some very good artwork indeed, and also spent a not-insignificant amount of time considering how Killie would use that many eggs.

So, now, it's back, in the form of a dedicated blog, so that Elodie's followers don't get bombarded by eggs. It's not ran by @elodieunderglass, but, it is done with official permission, and even with official art for the profile picture and banner!

So far, we have given Killie seventeen eggs, and counting!

Who is Killie?

Killie is @elodieunderglass's original character.

He's an angry little racehorse jockey with an unfortunate psychic connection to his rancid racehorse frenemy (O Holy Thunder), a redemption-arc relationship with his nice nerdy boyfriend (Derek), an elusive twin brother (Charlie) and a messy, rambling family of horse-obsessed weirdos who are overly-invested in the fascinating, complex, dirty, problematic and unhinged world of horse racing.

He is a short athletic ginger jock like an angry little wet cat, who is always getting injured, and we love him for this.

How do I get Killie an egg?

You send an ask, containing a description of the creative work you are embarking on. If you're on anon, you must also include your url, so we can make sure you see it when your ask is posted.

That ask then gets to replied to, thirty days later, and you reblog that with an update on the project, stating if you consider the egg's condition complete, which we in turn reblog if you managed it!

What counts for Killie to get an egg?

Strictly speaking, art, however, we make no attempt to define what "art" actually is, drawing, painting, writing, music, calligraphy, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. Basically, anything goes.

Why should I do any of this?

For two reasons, first, accountability, some people work better with a deadline, and, if you are one of those people, want said deadline to be exactly thirty days, and also themed around a fictional jockey getting an egg, then, you've come to the right place.

Second, recognition, no matter what, you know that your art is seen by, at the very least, me, and also some portion of this blog's followers.

but you're totally right- there's nothing other than the timing/when paul wears it and as near as i can tell, there's no source on it whatsoever, just people tinhatting. so we can't necessarily say it's Untrue, but it's a bit like speculating that they started a sexual relationship in hamburg or that x song was written about y... there's not much in the way of proving one way or another, unless paul comes out and says something different

with that SAID if someone says "john gave paul a bracelet" THAT'S definitely misinformation (intentional or not ofc). it's not fact. it's just a theory & i think somewhere that got a bit lost in translation? but anyway i'll break down what you mean by the timeline so others know wtf we're talking about here lmao

the theory

paul has/had a silver identity bracelet with his name on it. the theory goes that john gave it to him in paris or on paul's 21st bday & paul wore it on and off throughout his life

there's not much to back this up but there's also not much against it? so if you want to believe it that's fully your prerogative. me personally, i think it's a nice thought/headcanon and don't really Believe one way or the other, i just like the idea of it for like fics and shit

which also means this one could be earlier as it's also from '63 and the Only place i can find it is on a 1993 trading card saying it was from a "1963 publicity shoot" but i can't find any other photos from the shoot or which shoot it was to tell you what month that was lmao

there's also this photo from his 21st birthday party with it, which is Probably the earliest of these two:

which I honestly think is the Most likely time he would've received it, whether from jane or john or whoever else.

i've seen people say that there's pictures of him from Before 1963 with the bracelet on, but i can't find them.

so the options come down to: it was a gift from jane, it was a gift from john, it was a gift from his mother, or it was a gift from one of his other relatives

a couple of reasons people doubt the jane aspect is that he continued to wear it into the 70s & then ofc people claim that he had it before he met her. i can't find any evidence of him having the bracelet before jane, so i take that with a grain of salt. i'd think for me personally the only thing discounting it from being from jane is the fact the he still wore it during anthology. if it were just the 70s, that might be hand-waved away because it can still take a bit to get rid of everything an ex gave you. but by anthology, he definitely would've been over it.

people also point to him being cagey and saying "let's just say it has close sentimental value" as a reason it's Not from jane, but honestly i don't find that very compelling because at the time of this letter he was still like. out as being with jane, but it was peak beatlemania when they were supposed to be appearing single & approachable. so if it was from jane, i don't think he'd say that here either.

the oooonly other point against it being from jane is simply that i've seen people assert they "know for a fact" that it's from jane because people had matching sweetheart bracelets back then- but she's never seen wearing one. but that's just against them having matching ones, i really don't know if she gave it to him or not.

i don't see any reason that it wouldn't be from a family member that's not his mom, though. if it were his mom, there definitely would've been photos of him wearing it long before 1963. so For Me it comes down to john or another family member. jane is also still a strong possibility to me, although like i said the anthology bit throws a wrench in that for me, unless that's a different bracelet completely. or who knows, maybe he got attached to it outside of her- i've definitely kept things from exes long after i give a shit about them if i'm being honest.

another piece people like to throw in is that in both of the photos of him wearing it after his and john's split, he's wearing it on his right wrist rather than his left, like a widower would if it were a ring. not convincing to me honestly, but it's a part of The Whole Theory/Headcanon bit

others also speculate it could be from ringo! ringo had a similar one and I wouldn't be too surprised if paul liked his so he got him one for his 21st. definitely An option to consider!

also, if anyone knows the exact date on that teeth brushing photo that would be lovely. or if anyone happens to have a photo of him with the bracelet from Before he met jane.

but yeah tl;dr: it's theory, if anyone says it's for sure fact they are misinformed or just really want to believe it. no one knows who gave paul that bracelet and i doubt we'll ever know, so have fun.

How did you find the doctor(s) who assessed you for ADHD? Im looking into the process of getting diagnosed because (although ive suspected I might have adhd for years now) I've been struggling a lot more lately and i want to try medication to see if it helps at all. Im trying to search for psychiatrists through my health insurance portal but the the results im getting are all for child/adolescent psychiatry specialists, and I dont think that'll be much help for an adult adhd assessment? Did you have an established therapist to refer you for your assessment or were you able to find a psychiatrist independently?

I actually just kind of had to freeform it, but that does mean I have some tips to share!

I will say, I have never once used a health insurance portal to find someone to treat me for anything. Often their search engine is fucked up and the information is sometimes out of date. I almost always either ask someone who I know has had similar issues if they have a recommendation, ask my treating physician if I have one, or just google until I find someone reputable-looking; any qualified medical center or professional will list what insurance they take anyway, and you can always ask when you make the appointment.

So here's the process for how to do that!

When I was first considering it, I asked a friend who'd had an evaluation that came back not-ADHD, which I liked because it meant we knew it wasn't like, a weird Adderall pill mill or something. I really wanted to have a professional and thorough evaluation because I knew myself and knew I was capable of gaming a questionnaire. The place she had her evaluation was unfortunately having some staffing issues; part of the reason it took me so long is that I played phone tag with them for ages -- I'd call, and regardless of what time of day I called, their scheduler would be "out", so I'd leave a message and never get a call back. Ultimately I said "I really need to talk to a human, because your scheduler has not returned any of my numerous calls" and they said they could transfer me to another office outside of Chicago (in the burbs). That was not going to be accessible to me, so I told them thanks but I'll go somewhere else. Then COVID hit and I was not going to go anywhere near a medical center unless I had to for about two years.

So, when I was making my second serious run at getting evaluated, I did what might be expected of me by longtime readers of this blog: I made a spreadsheet.

I want to caveat this up top with REALLY IMPORTANT CONTEXT: I did not do all of this in a single day. The process from starting research to making an evaluation appointment took about a month, and probably would have taken longer if I wasn't getting somewhat desperate. Do not push yourself to do this as a single act. Research alone is a multi-day process; some days I looked at the open tabs and only entered one tab's worth of information. It took me quite a bit of time to write the form email I sent inquiring about an assessment. It took me time to call the clinic back when they asked me to call to book the appointment. This is a series of steps, not a single leap.

So!

I was looking for a clinic rather than an individual, in part because I'd heard a couple of horror stories about people who went to a psychiatrist and just got argued with for an hour instead of actually getting evaluated. So I googled, and here are some key terms for you, chicago adult adhd assessment. Chicago obviously for the region, but "adult adhd" (putting it in quotes will help) is the important term that will help you filter out a lot of child psych stuff. A lot of what I looked at did included family or child assessment/therapy but were clear that they also evaluated adults.

Then I went through every legit-looking search result and noted down, in my spreadsheet, the name of the clinic/company, the contact phone and email, the URL, the physical location (I needed to be able to get to it fairly easily) and whether they took my insurance. Even if they didn't take my insurance (all but one did) I still put them into the spreadsheet so that if I found them again I could check the sheet and know I didn't need to investigate further. I also tended to bump more legitimate and friendly-looking places to the top of the sheet. And if I were going to do it again I would also look for one specific thing, which is an assessment guide of some kind.

The assessment guide may be something they only give you after you speak with them, so it's not a no-go if they don't have one on their website, but it basically tells you what generally will go on during the assessment, how long it will take, and what you should bring. A full assessment like I had is estimated to take 4-6 hours and they recommended I wear layers so I wouldn't be overly cold/warm in their office, and to bring a snack. That's the kind of information you want, duration of the assessment and what they recommend for you, to ensure that you're working with people who are thorough and care about your comfort.

So, I have this spreadsheet now of places to reach out to, which I know take my insurance and do adult assessment. In the spreadsheet I also had columns for what date I contacted them and whether they'd responded. I started reaching out via email, one per day, with the form email I'd written.

The form email basically said "I'm 42 with no previous diagnosis but I have a family history of autism and dyslexia. I've been told I should get assessed for ADHD, so I'm looking for a clinic that will do the assessment and takes (my insurance). I prefer to be contacted by email but if need be, my phone number is (phone number). Please let me know if you have any open appointments and what information you will need from me to book an evaluation with you." (You can always ask for more information about the actual evaluation process once they respond.)

If I didn't get a response within 24 hours, I moved on to the next, but I only greyed out the text in that line of the spreadsheet; I didn't disqualify/remove the nonresponsive ones because again, I wanted to make sure I kept that information in case they eventually did respond. I did this with about ten clinics, because I figured I must be able to find at least one in ten who could do the eval, and I could go back and research more if necessary.

I think the third or fourth one I reached out to was the first to respond, and I ended up going with them; I had a very positive experience in the assessment itself but it was a real pain in the ass getting the documentation from them -- they took about a month to go through the evaluation data (this is not abnormal but is rather longer than usual according to my psychiatrist) and they gave me an in-person-by-zoom report once it was ready. That said, it took another four months and the threat of reporting them to the state to get them to send me the text of the eval (in part because the evaluator left the clinic unexpectedly with my formal report not yet written). But that's something that's truly impossible to know until you're working with them, and highly unusual, so don't let concerns about that deter you. If you end up in that situation come hit me up and I'll tell you how I dealt with that.

My eval recommended an executive function coach, but if I haven't been able to func it by now I never will, so I thanked them for the recommendation and went looking for a psychiatrist unaffiliated with the clinic to prescribe me meds. There, the key words you're going to be looking for are again "adult adhd" but also "adult disability" and if you want medication that's less likely to be a huge fucking hassle, "medication management". My psychiatrist and I meet every two months to reup my prescription, but he doesn't require me to take a regular drug test or meet him in person in order to get a new scrip, as some people have encountered. We meet in person once or twice a year (I can't remember, it's due to a legal requirement in Illinois) but otherwise it's over zoom.

So yeah -- it's a process, but there are ways to streamline and manage it, and a few tripwires in place to make sure you don't end up screwed by the system. Hi there! Sorry to bother, but hoping for a second opinion from someone with keener eyes than me. I'm seeing a blogger @/furryreviewearthquake making the rounds who is sharing a PayPal link instead of a GoFundMe. They have the classic "need insulin, living in half of a church" story, and the style of url with three random words always smells scammy to me. I looked up the name on the PayPal, Alice Simtei, and found another person concerned of a scam. This blogger also used to share a paypal under the name Lavine Akoth, which apparently used to be shared by the known scammer @/shinytastemakerphantom. I'm not keen on calling them a scam until I'm more sure. If you have a chance, can you weigh in? Thank you so much for the hard work you do btw

recently, a lot of people have been losing their gifs to reposters, whether that be a whole set stolen or just one gif taken for a textpost. which leads to a lot of us turning towards watermarks to not lose our work. it's not everyone's first choice, particularly because of aesthetics, but it's the best way to keep what you own.

of course, it might seem silly to do a whole "tutorial" on watermarks, but there's a lot of different ways to watermark in a subtle way that still protects your work. i've also seen a lot of people incredibly hesitant to move to watermarks because they believe it marrs their work, which may be true, but there are definitely ways around that. anyway, let's begin !

WATERMARK 1: URL/TRACKED TAG

the most common watermark for people is usually 'thisismyurl.tumblr.com', 'thisismyurl | tumblr', 'thisismyurl' - at least, this is assumed for most people as the best way to watermark.

but if you're like me and constantly want to change your url, you know that there's a good chance a watermark on a gif 3 months ago could be completely different to one now. this is why people are turning to tracking tags.

tracked tags change less frequently, if at all. it's smaller, which makes it more subtle. if you want to go the extra mile like me, you can create a blog under your tracked tag (eg. i track tuserlucie) which means you can reblog anything with your watermark to the blog, showing that it is yours.

placement is key though ! here's 3 different ways you can place it.

NOTE: opacity has not been altered on any of these. depending on how it looks with your gif, opacity looks best at 10-30%.

Font settings: Momcake, thin, 10pt, #ededed.

each of these placements have different advantages.

the first placement (top left) is the one i personally use. it's centered right on the middle but not too high up.

the second placement (top right) is probably the most popular. corners mean people can kind of tuck the watermark away where it doesn't seem obvious. the fourth (bottom right) effectively does the same.

the third placement (bottom left) is 100% the most effective. it sits in a point exactly where it's noticeable, making it less desirable for reposters. on the right opacity too, you hardly notice it.

WATERMARK 2: ICONS/SIGILS

this is an idea that i've seen used mostly by nik @cal-kestis , but is a great and creative way to do it !

an icon or sigil makes your gif totally unique to you. and it's something cute on there which is different to having to put text on there.

(i've put it in orange for the purpose of seeing it)

but you can see here, it doesn't need to be anything special. i've just used an oval shape plus the initials of my url and that's it !

but a sigil can be anything. it doesn't need to have text; it could just be an image. it could just be your icon. either way, it's a cute little alternative to using text.

You may remember that round one of the first mini collision was supposed to start today. However, after thinking it over the past few days, I have decided that the spring mini collisions, as well as the general sonic au collision planned for summer, will be canceled.

Even now, I have received absolutely no word from support regarding the current situation explained in the post above. The URL remains unavailable to claim despite being inactive. I do not know what is going on and I wish I did.

In fact, another one of my sideblogs @sonic-event-zone had also been removed a few days ago. Same deal with the collision, I didn't delete it and Tumblr didn't give me any prior notice. Fortunately, I was able to use the URL after 24 hours, unlike sonic-au-collision. But this still means I have to start the blog from the beginning.

As much as I had wanted to continue with the event, despite the original blog getting deactivated, I just can't. We are still three submissions short of what is needed to start the event. I had considered pushing back to the 20th but that would give me less time to create the brackets, set up the new collision blog, repost the rules, finish the masterguide, etc. etc.

Yes, I could have taken some AUs from the second mini collision and moved them to the first. Especially since a lot of people had listed they had no preference in regards to the date they were competing. But I decided not to. Because honestly? I am tired. Not only do I have this whole mess to figure out, but I still have a personal life with other stuff to navigate through. There are other projects I want to focus on.

I don't have the energy to properly run au collision right now and that wouldn't be fair to you all. I will run the collisions at some point, but that won't be until after I have the event set up again properly and I have the energy to host it right. That may be months from now.

If you were already signed up for the mini collisions, you will be saved a spot in the next collision that you are able to join. This spot is guaranteed for you unless there's a violation of the rules. You will be informed in advance about upcoming collisions and given the sign-up form days or maybe weeks before the tumblr or discord receives access. You have first priority.

But also, sometimes it's hard to respond for whatever reason (thanks autism) I do see your kind words and I love them. I'm not mad at you either. I have almost 90,000 posts, mostly reblogs, but I have a lot of content and I do not mind you doom scrolling. In the same vain, do not assume I was the same person that posted one, two, five or ten years ago. Going through my blog to find "problematic" content only wastes time and tells me you think people are incapable of growth and change. Do better.

Keeping a schedule is tantamount to keeping people engaged and them building a following. Whether you post one a week or daily, or like me--almost hourly--people will come no matter your content if you give them a Reason to come.

No matter how unpopular the thing you are blogging about it's there is ALWAYS an audience. It's never a wasted effort to be creative and put your voice out there. Please, the fandom gets stale without new creators and ideas.

On that note, you are not stealing from another for making the same or similar content. That means you should gif that show that's already been gif'd dozens of times over. You should draw that comic of a popular headcanon/ship. You should write your story. As long as you are doing things in your own words/style and not outright copying word for word or sketch per sketch, you're fine. Two cakes are ALWAYS Better than one.

Being angry and spending your time hating/attacking/vague blogging about other creators only hurts you in the long run. jealously is a normal emotion, but when you let it take over your happiness you're only falling deeper into a pit that's already hard to get out of. (trust me)

Please, please, please do what makes you happy. Life should not be wasted on anger. You don't need popularity to be happy, sometimes it can be hella stressful. (take my word for it) Don't become the bully you wish you where in middle school. Spread kindness, support artist and creators. (this includes gif makers, image editors, amv makers, writers, OCs, etc)

social media exodus, rss feeds and you

whenever a social media platform hacks and coughs we see the same fucking scramble of leaving to different platforms, and not everyone is gonna go to the same place and so on and so forth and it's a pain. if only there was a platform-agnostic way to keep track of people on the internet...

enter the humble rss feed.

note: candied reptile's rss resources page is very comprehensive and a recommended read. i'm mostly summarizing things so i can sell you on the idea. all the actual how-tos can be found over there!

reading

there's 1 william feed readers out there. there are services to sync your feeds between devices if you want to read on your phone but you don't need any of that to start reading, and migrating is very easy because you can export / import your urls as opml files. you can start anywhere to get a feel for it.

and you can read basically anything! my url list includes blogs, personal websites, webcomics and newsletters. i follow sortition social, which shows me a random indie web feed per day. i've followed bsky accounts through rss before, you can use it for youtube channels, there's probably a bunch of other uses i haven't even considered before. i use a firefox extension called feed preview to better find rss/atom feeds while browsing the web.

writing

writing to a rss feed is very easy (you can copy-paste entry templates or use generators online), and so is hosting. you just need to be able to link to the file and you're golden. mine is hosted on neocities (free) since that's where my website is. there's also nekoweb and bearblog and if you really want to use it just for basic updates so people don't lose track of you as you figure out where to go or something you can use status.cafe. you have a ton of hosting options.

and well. you can write whatever you'd like. i use my feed for linking website updates, the typical use-case, but you can very well use it for text-posting, it doesn't have to be a big deal (a concept called rosting that i'm not sure exists outside ex cohost users vocab — russhdown is meant to generate feeds for this). feeds are versatile.

this is not a one stop solution

feeds are not social media. a personal website (the natural second step here, basically the only way to have an online presence that's less reliant on platforms like tunglr and shit) are not social media. i love them both dearly but as i've written before, i won't pretend losing a social media platform doesn't suck, because these are low-interaction forms of posting. i'm a big fan of email but let's be real, we're not really emailing each other short comments on silly things, even if maybe we should.

my feed advocacy comes more from a place of seeking stability. i believe it's a lot easier to keep calm during social media decay if you know you have a stable place to communicate from, and a way to keep track of others, regardless of whether they're moving to a different platform than you or not. start getting familiar with feeds now so you don't have to rush later, is what i think.

dear bunblr: advice please?

first: the good news! I adopted oreo!!! I'm gonna have to update this blog's url lol.

second: I'm moving next month! I've never moved with a pet before, let alone a bunny, so I need all of the advice! it's a driving distance move, I don't want to give exact details, but no flights and I can take her to my next place in one day.

I want all the advice you have, and I also have some specific questions:

I have a carrier and a cage, due to my current landlord requiring that I have a cage if a bunny is in the apartment (but if you've seen my set up you know what the deal is with that, don't worry). I may be able to secure the cage in my car. how long is too long to leave a bunny in a carrier?

what can I do to make the move easier for her? oreo is generally pretty chill for a bunny but I think this will be upsetting for her unfortunately, so how do I make this as easy as possible?

I am going to have to tear down her pen and clean at my current place and then set her whole pen up again in my new place. I'm not sure if there's gonna be a good place to put her outside her carrier during that time and I'm worried that's gonna be too much time in her little carrier :(

I don't like the way you guys talk about Palestinians asking for donations. I don't like it.

I had to see someone make MULTIPLE posts bitching and moaning about how people need to stop sending them asks asking for them to reblog their donation posts, that they'd just be blocking them from now on, and that they didn't care if they were vetted because they still found the act of sending asks to get reblogs on their donation links suspicious, even if they were in a dire situation. They even went as far as to say that they got an ask, deleted it, and then they got another ask from the same person, and accused the person of sending another ask to purposefully "get under their skin"

I don't know man, have you considered that being a victim of ongoing genocide will make you ask for help in whatever way you can? And sometimes that involves sending random blogs asks to see if they can donate or at the very least share your donation links? A Palestinian reaches out to you multiple times because they need help and your response is to whine about getting donation links in your inbox? I wish I had your problems

Also the thing about "getting the exact same ask from the exact same blog multiple times"... uh, duh? First of all, they're probably reaching out to dozens of blogs daily, do you think they're gonna type up a new paragraph for each blog they reach out to? Second of all, maybe they reached out to you multiple times because a. They really really really need the help and b. What, do you think they're gonna see your URL/blog and be like "oh! I already reached out to this blog, I'm not gonna send them another ask"? Or do you think they'll be like "this person has been reblogging other people's donation posts, maybe they'll reblog mine too"?

Like I understand being suspicious about getting sent donation links to your inbox, but literally all you have to do is check if the blog's been vetted by other bloggers? It's as easy as searching for their URL on tumblr sometimes, it literally takes less than a minute or two. And that's what bothers you? That's what you're complaining about? Find a real problem!!!

PSA: the tumblr downloaders don't work anymore(or at least, haven't worked for me), so here's what you need to do

step 1: go to the post on your web browser

it doesn't matter if it's on a custom blog or if it's not op or anything, you just need to be able to right click on the audio itself.

step 2: go into VIEW PAGE SOURCE. not inspect element

here's what it should look like, or at least, that's what it looks like in firefox. don't worry too much about anything, because I'm gonna teach you a neat trick

step 3: hit Control + F. (Or your specified hotkey for finding something in a page)

type in, without the quotation marks, "content="

you wanna look for the urls inside of the quotes that start with "https://", an example being "https://a.tumblr/randomstringofnumbers" or "https://idk.man/ijustworkhere". those will be the places where the media is stored, and therefore were your audio/video to download will be.

step 4: trial and error

there should only be a few that start with "https://", so this part shouldn't take so long. copy and paste the URLs that start with "https://" into a new tab, and eventually it will link to the media you want to download.

once you have gotten to the media itself, you can right click on it, and then click the "save media as..." button. i hope from there you know what to do.
