I have drawings and writing ideas, but instead of doing either of them, I just keep imagining them in my head because I know the final result won't be as good as what I imagined.

And this, friends, is why I will never understand AI bros, because how can you tolerate every little mishap the machine makes? It'll never be to the level of my imagination. The only thing that can get close to matching it is my own writing, my own art, or if I heavily guide another artist to do it.

I used generative AI (for personal intertainment purposes only), and I was always annoyed at something. The more I was annoyed, the more I was realising: why am I even messing around with that? I'll just do it myself since the AI frustrates me so much.

So, in case you were scared of real artists becoming rare, I don't think you should. It's the same reason as to why lots of people still make their own plushies and get money from doing homemade plushies despite mass-produced plushies existing. It's all about the ability to heavily personalize something to your exact liking, which AI will never be able to do... it will get close to doing it, but it'll need a LOT of learning and inputs to do so.

Being scared of big companies getting rid of real artists because it can save them some money? Yeah, it's a fine concern. But, if we take game companies as an example... even with lazy triple A games existing (looking at you, EA) indie games still come out often and strive. Real art will never die. People like me who are never satisfied with AI or need to express themselves in very specific ways will keep existing in high number.

Hermit-A-Day - Day 4: Alt Hermit

It's Bonus Day 1, which means Alternate Hermits. I went a little simpler on this day again like I did last year, and went with Helsknight!

We've got a twist on our usual formatting today though! I mentioned in the day 1 post that Someone got a Lore Update just the other day - and that was Wels, and thus also Hels!!! But I wanna save the lore for my Wels day - so... hang on to your hats and wait for the Special New Lore on Wels' day! However! I will give you this little tidbit for Hels himself - RMAU Hels is a Failed and Warped Clone of Wels, as he is in canon. But there's... A little More to just why he's Warped due to the New Wels Lore... ;D I will clarify though that Wels and thus Hels ARE still Human, there's just... A little More to them now. ;) (Hopefully that was more mysterious and intriguing than irritating...)

But yeah! Lineart is the same as Wels from last year, and the base colors are just recolored, but the shading on the metal is new, as is the slight red aura to the armor too (*hint hint - that'll be lore significant ;)*). And I'm pretty pleased with how the armor shading turned out for having done it just real quickly and without too much planning. I also think it's a definite improvement from the no shading on Wels' armor last year!

Like the game doesn't offer ulder enough. and it's frustrating because some people are starting to see the layers behind wyll's discussion of his horns/why he would be seen as unsettling to the tieflings, but idk if people are also fully understanding not just the role devils play in the game but ulder's own experiences... he says he became a "plaything for devils" when in elturel. That's bad yeah? like I fully believe he loves wyll and I fully believe that part of his firm refusal to listen to wyll stems from not just the real fear of losing his son to powers beyond his control, but also from his recent trauma of being abused by devils and then seeing his own son bear these marks. It's still not fair to wyll. But I find that having a character who's a flawed parent, who tried and tries and still has shortcomings but admits to them, is incredibly interesting and worthwhile to engage with. But also larian seems so uninterested in actually exploring their relationship, as evidenced by how little we get between the two of them lol

After Re-Watching Hbomberguy's video on RWBY and its issues and plot (or lack there of), its the only way I truly UNDERSTAND Rwby, i'll be extremely honest about this. So Forgive me for any fans of the show that this may offend when Im giving this opinion/idea- though as far as I'm aware from what I gathered. The way they handle Fauna to justify the existence of just anime girls with animal ears into a really shitty metaphor for racism was generally poor so who knows how yall feel about it.

BUT!! My thought *was*, when its revealed Blake is suppose to represent "Beauty And The Beast", My immediate thoughts were-

"Oh! wouldnt it be so cool if the reason Blake had those ears is because she's somehow related to the Grimm? To make these creatures even more revelant to the story and this could help expand on what the Grimm are, and the implications of what that means if she's part Grimm? Maybe then she'd have a complicated relationship with them and tension with the rest of the cast who they all fight them. Is it a tragic tale? A real emphasis on The Beast within? What does it say about the origins of Grim and how she even came to be if thats the case?"
