Game plan

"This sucks."

Pulling on the ShinRa issued blues, Yuffie scowled. Dawning the uniform of the enemy was the last thing she wanted to be doing. It was insulting. And just. So. Itchy. ShinRa had to have a better budget than this, right?

Hanging loose, the uniform bunched awkwardly under the plates as she tried to put them on. It was all around to big, but it'd have to work. At least for this one mission.

Taking a breath, she turned back to her bed, and grabs the helmet she set aside.

Opening the door and stepping into the hallway, Yuffie hangs her head, helmet still in hand. An infiltration mission? She should be stoked. But an air of disdain dampened the mood, she wanted nothing to do with the damn company, even if it's fake.

Down in the bridge, the others were waiting to see her off.

Making her way down, she passed Cloud in the corridor, trying her damnedest not to meet his eyes. That didn't stop her from seeing the way his wings stiffened as she walked by, or how his pace quickened. He used to see people in these uniforms all the time, what was his deal?

Filing away his reaction, Yuffie continued down the hall until she made it to the bridge doors.

They were all looking at her, expectant. They just needed to discuss the plan, that was it. Taking a seat, she straightens her back, attention on the plan.

As the briefing went on, the less she heard. Eyes shifted to her on and off, and the longer she sat, the worse the uniform felt.

Trying to wring her attention back in, she stared intently on the board set up in front, Barret and Cait motioning to it now and again. But even then, it was starting to grate on her again. That second skin made of cheap, rough cotton felt as though it was eating her alive.

Yuffie barely heard the end of the team's explanation, something about Zack being her ride out of the base.
