(credit to @fivefeetfangirl and @opheliathegreekgoddess for filming this question, tysm guys <3)
misha: hello!
me: hello! um. so, you know the singer perfume genius?
[transcript and context continues under the cut]
misha: no
me: i think you do... but uh, ruth connell and i think rob also went to a concert of his. and he, i think somewhere in 2021 he wrote fanfiction about jared, like him and jared having sex, and then one about jensen and him having sex. and he was going to write one about you as well
misha: uhu. but he didn't think he could handle it?
[audience laughs]
me: i think he was having trouble writing. um
misha: yeah
me: but then after, ruth posted something about, it was a picture of you, rob and ruth in a hug. and ruth tagged perfume genius in it.
misha: uhu
me: and after that, he kinda deleted his tweets and it seems like it was never finished or posted. [joking] and i was wondering if you like, bribed him or something so that he wouldn't post it. or like what happened there?
misha: i love that you're asking this question as if i have any fucking idea what you're talking about. "you know, perfume genius, i think you know" i've never heard of perfume genius. but! i'm very disappointed that he hasn't written it. maybe he did!
me: maybe... but you should contact him then
misha: this. well, okay. i'll follow up with him and find out whatever happened to my... fanfiction. yeah.
me: thank you. [trying to end this lol]
misha: did um, did- so ruth is tagging him on photos? i thought those photos that we took, the three of us, were private!
me: [joking] it was full-on kissing as well. i can show you
misha: can i see?
me: no it was a cute one
misha: was it? it was full-on kissing?
me: [shows misha ruth's insta post]
me: [notices misha is gonna take my phone out of my hands]: umm
misha: [grabs my phone anyway] [starts swiping]
me: no. misha no.
(misha doesn't stop)
me: [climbs on stage and takes phone back]
misha: i love how a fan jumps up on the stage and security is like "no, that's fair. this one's on you misha" you guys she- she did the right thing by the way. i stole her phone. so you can't fault her for that. thank you for standing up for yourself. that was unacceptable what i did. and also unacceptable what i saw on your phone
me: i hope that was interesting, the train information
misha: [laughs] it was- it's true. i did only make it to tomorrow's train from düsseldorf
me: you also want to see the fanfiction about jensen?
(staff drags me away from the mic)
(at this point i was already surrounded by a lot of security and staff)
misha at security: um. yeah, you guys, you can leave. she's fine. she's fine.
(security guy asks me to come with him anyway)
misha: no no no she's fine she's fine she's fine. guys! i stole her phone! and she had um, perfume genius pornography on it.
queue handler i hadn't talked to: no i'm sorry, you lied to us
me: i didn't (i had told a different queue handler my question in short but i hadn't written it down since i wanted it to be spontaneous)
misha to the handler: about what?
(queue handler claims again that i lied about my question)
misha: no no no, i'm gonna say: you can stay. and that's okay. she didn't do anything wrong. i took her phone.
(i walk away and i think i say thank you to misha lol idk i was on autopilot)
(staff found me anyway, like 10 min after i sat down somewhere, and they banned me from seeing the jared and mark s panel, some of my friends came to give me my bag and for moral support, then punished little me waited alone in the room outside the panel room for a bit lol and misha came up to me after his panel was done to check if i was okay and he concluded "i don't want questions filtered at my panels anyway", i saw him for a photo op like 30 min later and he was like "hi again" and i got the squishy hug i asked for ("yes of course") and that's what you missed on glee)
#he was so sweet?? anyway lol#had to transcribe and give context since it looks so messy but i hated hearing my own voice yikes does anyone ever get used to it#i would phrase my question differently if i had thought about it more but i didn't want to overthink it since that would've made me nervous#it is what it is#staff overreacted bc of the word “sex” i guess boooo#[everyone disliked that]#also i forgot about misha grabbing my shoulder#Youtube

Archiving Which-Item-Poll
Submissions are now open. Please see more details here
Trigger tag list - at the moment outlines NSFW tags but will cover other tags soonish
Tag directory - A key to the tags I use as well as ways to browse by category or the month the poll was originally posted.
Please follow @pick-an-item-poll as they're continuing to post polls where you choose an item
If you want to follow the original blog's new poll blog, it's @hear-me-out-poll
What is this blog?
Basically I'm trying to (manually) reblog everything from their blog to this blog to create a more permanent archive once which-item-poll deactivates the original blog. I'm doing this because tumblr's search functions are notoriously useless for finding specific posts and many posts get entirely lost without a blog's archive page. Additionally, this preserves the tags that contain the information about the items, most notably the websites where they can/could be found.
Once the archive is complete and posted, we'll see where this goes from there.
@which-item-poll if you want me to delete a specific post or a couple that I re-blogged from you please ask me and I will. (Even after you've deleted the blog, since I know your main)
About the Archivist
You can call me Arc (not my name, but it works for now), I'm non-binary and my pronouns are she/they! I'm not the original owner of which-item-poll. I'm typically slow to respond to messages, but will take any suggestions into consideration even if I haven't responded to you yet.
Archive progress
Currently in the queue:
Nothing!
January 2025
Completed Months:
*January, *February, *March, *April, *May, June, *July, *August, *September,*October, *November and *December 2024
*January 2025
(* these months still need their category tags reviewed and possibly edited)
Needs to be queued/drafted:
Anything posted by OP before they deactivate.
Updates
Everything from the original blog as of 18 January 2025 EST has been posted! Thank you for your patience and I hope you enjoyed the throwbacks.
I still need to adjust the category tags I added to posts for browsing to make sure that they're all accurate, but other than that the archiving is essentially complete.
So now that the archiving stage is completed, I'm going to potentially create a new version of the pinned/introduction post later on. The focus will be on correcting those tags and finalising the tag directory rather than a new intro post.
Submissions for new polls are now open. If thats the kind of thing you're interested in, see more details here.
Previous updates under the cut
Update: My autotagger wasn't working, which I found out about 1200 posts into this. Currently working on restoring tags to the posts already reblogged. I've managed to fix my autotagger but I had to clear the queue and drafts. (I didn't want to do it... but must to preserve my sanity.... and more importantly my wrist) Once I've got the tags back on the January posts (manually) I'll be able to fill the queue and drafts back up with the original tags intact.
Update: Everything that was posted had the tags added back on. Resuming queuing posts (and I've confirmed that the autotagger is copying the tags). Starting the queue again since there's enough in there to run while I sleep.
Update: I have been misspelling February in all of my tags. I will fix this and continue to fix this as they get posted from the queue.
Update: All the miss-spelt tags have been corrected
Update: I made the pinned post nicer to read! I also added some information.
Update 15/12/24 EST: If I run the queue at 50 posts a day, it will take 45 days to post everything from the original blog to this blog.
19/12/24 7pm EST - Taking a very short break from working on the archive as I have my final assignment due for a university course due tonight. (in about 10 hours in my local time). I should be back to doing stuff with it tomorrow. :)
Update 21/12/24: I'm back to it and working on adding tags to posts before making a directory again. For now, All current archival posts and ones that are in the queue now have the tag #which-item-poll-archive
Update: I have lost my draft about new submissions somewhere :(
Since it was a majority yes vote on the survey about new polls, I'm currently considering how I'd go about doing that.
NSFW items are on their way to the top of the queue. Here's a post about the tags to block if you don't wanna see them! :)
The tag directory is completed! It can be found at the top of this post! There's also a new survey about it. Is it too long?
I'm also going to try and post some things manually to get that time down, but can't guarantee that I can do this a lot due to things happening IRL.
Needs to be queued/drafted:
Any posts remaining in which-item-poll's queue or any other post made between time of update (4:47am on the 15th of December EST) and when OP decides to deactivate the blog.
Pretty close to queuing everything now. Going to include some of the repeat posts from the month of December that were meant to let people know the blog was deactivating ect. But I'm not going to include every single reblog of them. Just for the sake of slightly smoother browsing whilst still backing up the posts.
I found my draft about opening submissions :) Now I just need to edit it so it's coherent.
I've finished queuing and drafting existing posts and are now waiting to archive any future posts between now and when the blog is deactivated.
Everything is now in the queue!
17/01/25 EST - Days left until completed archive: 3 days at 50 posts a day.
The tag directory is completed! It can be found at the top of this post! Since it was a majority vote to not change it, I'm going to leave it as is for now. I'll run another survey on if it's too long once I've pretty much completed it.

At some point in answering asks, I managed to accidentally delete one. Luckily, I copy asks into a separate document for answer composition purposes, so I still had this one in the queue in the order it was sent. My apologies to the asker if they sent this under a screen name I can no longer remember for tagging purposes! I hope you see it anyway!
Now that the manga has met its end will you include the last bits of it in yours "On Heteromorphs and Heteromorphobia"? I know there's not much but I'm still curious to hear you out on the final bits.
Off the top of my head, I think the only thing I would be liable to talk about would be Shouji’s “peace prize” for “resolving incidents,” and the continued hypocrisy of praising the protesters for their strong feelings while ignoring the Villains who drummed those feelings up in the first place.
There would probably also be some vitriol about how, to my resounding lack of surprise, the only person shown doing anything to address heteromorphobia is a victimized heteromorph, while the best the broader society can manage is to give him an award named after Horikoshi's editor.(*) No word on whether that award comes with e.g. a monetary grant Shouji can invest in furthering his work, or what kind of assistance, if any, Shouji has been getting already. It's a marked contrast to Uraraka's updates and improvements to quirk counselling, in which matter we're explicitly told she's getting extensive support from her fellow Heroes, the HPSC, and the Ministry of Education!
(*The same editor, by the way, who we know from the last data book gave Horikoshi his "objective opinion" on the hospital material, which he praises for the care and thoughtfulness put into its writing. Maybe Horikoshi should have asked for an educated opinion rather than an "objective" one.)
As far as the peace prize and the alleged sensitivity of the writing of the hospital sequence, the barbs above notwithstanding, I don’t think there’s anything I can say that’s more vital and incisive than @codenamesazanka’s personal, eloquent testimony and critical analysis here. I did touch on the two-faced praise of the protesters in the essay itself, and at more length in my chapter thoughts post for Chapter 373. Therefore, I'm unlikely to dedicate a specific post to discussing the end of the series here, though if and when I ever get around to posting the essay to AO3, I may go ahead and do so there!
That said, heteromorphobia is a topic I’m keeping an eye on as I do my reread of Vigilantes, which I’ve been posting publicly over on my Patreon, no membership required. I’m not being as methodical about it there as I was for the main series, but it’s come up several times in only two volumes, including observations about:
Who takes Trigger willingly versus who gets attacked with it.
How Knuckleduster’s targeting of anyone with an “evil-looking” face aligns with the rhetoric of people who attack heteromorphs. (Though by all means, Knuckleduster’s definition of “evil-looking” is pretty expansive!)
Rapt’s willingness to self-identify as a lizard and how it maps to his socio-economic position, as well as how that intersection is consistent with the same patterns we saw in the main series.
I’ve been away from the reread for a bit – working on asks here and a major project for Akane Banashi that I’ll be posting the first portion of here sometime tomorrow or Monday – but I’ll be getting back to it soon, after another round of inbox work here!
I appreciate your continued interest in my thoughts on the topic! And thank you for the ask as well!

Hey hey, it’s. cay~! Wanted to give a quick update, especially for those waiting to hear from me with commission updates! Feel free to check it out under the cut below. Following this is a TLDR!
TLDR: I have suffered an art block and I needed to step away to handle my lifestyle and IRL priorities like a good lil’ adult! In doing so, commissions, content, and activity have been slow. Please know I have taken the time to take care of myself, and that has always been a priority! I’ve also have been reading again, and it has been an amazing escape and stress reliever with art being unavailable to me. I’m taking the steps to return at my own pace, and I’m very appreciative of you guys and my supporters who have been patient for me as well!!
Firstly, for my ever so patient clients…
I have not forgotten about you guys! For those who haven’t heard back from me in a hot second, please forgive my disappearance! I had to take an unexpected pause and am deeply sorry for the inconvenience! I should have been quick to be forward on such a delay but it was a difficult time and things got away from me—even Art. I found myself in a creative block and all I have been doing is work IRL.
I couldn’t find it in myself to produce a piece for even myself without the care it deserves, and you guys know how much I care to provide the best—and am super critical of it even then.
Due to the delay, I’ll offer optional benefits and/or discounts as an apology, to give back for the inconvenience my absence has caused! I’ve gotten back into the flow a bit more and feel like I can draw circle, so I’ll be reaching out tomorrow afternoon to follow up with you guys and start/finish the remainder of the queue!
For my blog dwellers…
I’m still very excited to continue sharing my work and my husbones here, no doubt! Even more so, I keep seeing all the beautiful art and the FAE universe has me by the metaphorical balls. God I love it, it’s amazing. Even more so because I have a piece I plan to show in due time based on it!!
I’ve also been looking forward to showing off a new skeleboy coming from the Dustfell Universe. I won’t show his design but I will say his name is Spruce. Feel free to give your thoughts on him or what you think he may be like, because I wanna see how close someone gets hehehe.
Either way I definitely plan to start posting again as soon as I am in the swing of it again, and just need to have that time to relax and recover from the art block. Reading has been amazing as a form of therapy to my brain and has been an escape from the crazy life I had to endure lately, as why I haven’t been around much either. Though I have done good for myself, I miss you guys greatly, and can’t wait to share what I’ve been trying to work on for so long teehee.
#cay talks#cay is being an adult#cay has been struggling#but cay is happy.#reading so many damn books#all of it is SPICY#we love our monster romances out here#fae romances too#any romance with magic and fantasy honestly#but it needs hot sauce#anyway art is coming I promise#thank you supporters and my clients for your patience#y’all are star-sent angels I swear#cay will hush and sleep now#but that’s the tea 🫖

[Aug 3rd] Small updates
-The "Events" section has been updated with the "From The Ashes" era information. Not a lot as it's too soon for an official guide but it's up.

-The release schedule has been updated for the month of August. I may do smaller release posts during the week, but I'm not sure yet.

-My queue tag will be set soon, "The thing none of you will ever understand is that there are no queues. There's just what I want and how I'll get it" will be used for scheduled posts when I'm not able to personally post.
-I have some posts set up for Rogue day tomorrow. A little throwback for our girl. Some comics you've read before. Others you may not be aware of.
-The Roguneto moments/reading list page is partially updated. AoA issues are still in progress. I will also create a separate bloggable post at a later date. I will continue to edit it throughout the week.

-AoA version of "Through the Ages" Roguneto ship guide should be completed this week. I'll try to post some AoA scenes to go with it.
-Rude asks will mostly be ignored and deleted. If you're expecting this blog to engage in your hurt feelings about a ship or to harass other shippers, then I don't know what to tell you. It's not gonna happen here.
-Last but not least! A group of Roguneto fans (@thevulturesquadron @maedelin and others!) organized a ship week in October. Look forward to it!

instead of 3 on wednesdays and 3 on saturdays, what do you think of one per day every day of the week instead? i feel like that would be a more consistent and comfortable posting schedule, and you would only have to post one more song per week, so it's not that much more work you have to do (i think, at least.) plus, you won't have to worry about the order of your posts being messed up by the queue. though of course, your blog, your choice. :]
hmmmm... maybe it can work!! but i think it would be fair if i made a poll for everyone to vote on
i do still intend to post only 6 songs a week tho, so if i do change my polls' schedule to be everyday, Sunday will just be the one I wont post polls on (for convenience)
ofcourse the polls for tomorrow would still be following the normal schedule buuuut, if daily is the most voted i'll schedule the next poll after those to be on Monday
#mod jam#ask#Anonymous#poll#ignore the fact i forgot to make this poll about this three days ago when i said i would AJHSJDHGSDJGASHGJ

Song of the Year #8
youtube
I don't know! I guess I just love this song and always stop on it when it comes up!
I will actually post the first posts tomorrow! What would have been the delay is I also wanted to try having a wordpress this time too and I thought it would take a few days to set that all up but I remember I set it up last year then just never continued it.
So the cadence of the releases will be a lot like my old posts, daily posts, unless I'm just not around at all then I'll pause the queue but otherwise something should post!
I feel confident that this is the one because it's been just a little bit of a week and I already have a lot! My previous legacy it would take a week just to create a week of content and this one its like it takes a week to have weeks of content. No quality is lost, because the hold up was just the restrictive way I was playing and writing. If anything quality should be gained because I could not play the game at all this week and still have daily posts for over a week. So that means next time I'm in game and want to craft some intricate scene I can do so without feeling like "Oh I need to hurry!!!"
Anyways, tomorrow I'll Introduce Marisol and Sasi!
I think in terms of the day's resolutions, not the years'. ~ Henry Moore

EDIT: Sorry for all these textposts tonight. This is a repost of the ealier post to remove mentions of one of the users in the transcript from the comments section. I appreciate everyone who commented on the previous version of the post and will be presenting a couple of different options on how to continue this blog either tomorrow or on Tuesday - Original post:
I've been made aware (in a transcript posted below the readmore) that the whole premise and language used on this blog is harmful and dehumanising to adoptees. This was genuine ignorance on my part, but I don't want to continue running this blog in a way that's harmful to a marginalised group
So because of that, I'm going to be ceasing running this blog as "the tumblr found family adoption agency" and in the coming weeks will remove this language from the blog as much as I can
Now, I do enjoy running this blog and would like to continue it in some form. I had considered simply removing references to adoption agencies, but while the original sentiment is still there, I don't think this small change would be good enough
So, my next idea was to change this blog to:
Finding the Tumblr Quest Party
The idea is that we're all on a quest and choosing members of our party. This way the blog would still function on a similar premise, but remove any references to adoption that would be harmful to real life adoptees. The question would simply be "Should this character join the tumblr quest party?" with the answer being yes or no and the results dialogue being something along the lines of "This character [did/didn't] join the quest party", to remove the upsetting ditching on the roadside aspect
Should I go ahead with this, all current characters on the list would carry over as they are, because I'm sure none of us fancy doing hundreds (possibly even into the thousands?) of polls again. Also, the current queue of characters would continue to run
I'd be happy to hear feedback on what you think of this possible change, especially from other adoptees from across the world (though ofc I wouldn't want you to doxx yourselves in the replies, so only say anything your comfortable with sharing)
Transcript:
user 1: hey op: are you an adoptee and did u talk to adoptees about this? because personally, as an adoptee, i think this is whole thing is really insensitive to us, and the experiences we go through. please stop this, it’s harmful. the private adoption industry should not be used as a joke for blorbos. it is an unregulated industry that costs lives
user 2: it's like insanely harmful and romanticism at every turn. I could write a whole entire ESSAY on how it's fucked up and basic romanticism that leads into silencing adoptees and their trauma.
user 2: honestly the excuse of "I know an adoptee that said it's okay! 1! " is first of most likely lying, second off just because one adoptee says it's okay, doesn't give you the right to Invalidate , romantize and glorify adoption and trauma.
Easily a "well x said I could say this slur even when I can't reclaim it!!" Like okay doesn't mean you should or you arnt gross
It's also, ignoring all of that, missing the point of found family in thee first place.
user 1: yeah like found family is removing all those labels why is this even a thing. makes no sense. and exactly!! it absolutely is romanticism & op says that they got permission they’re def lying imo 😭😭
user 1: honestly i will take bets they won’t even reply to us, block us, or ask why we aren’t being nicer or are making ‘hurtful assumptions’. but if they cared about adoptees this blog wouldn’t exist. if they know an adoptee and asked that adoptee probably doesn’t trust them enough to be honest. op also definitely doesn’t know the history of adoption agencies either cuz yikes…
user 2: Exactly, if the adoptee community is telling you it's gross (which there Isnt a lot of us due to being forced to be silent about trauma and to be grateful etc) then you should probably realize it's gross. This isn't animal jam pillow room where 8yrs wanting to roleplay family stuff, you are obviously smart enough to realize that it's gross, dehumanizing and romanitzing trauma. can write a whole college thesis on how gross it is.
user 2: people don't care about adoptees bc it apparently doesn't exist or only does for "the people who are adopted from China" or some shit that's their concept of adoption besides pets. It's like adoption itself is a fictional trope.
user 2: "Gotta block them, the minority spoke up and now I'm scarred of the conquences of my actions"
user 1: no literally they treat us like fictional concepts. and even tho this person is from the UK so adoption isn’t for profit like it is in the US, they probably do look at it like we are pets. like “ditch on the side of the road” truly disgusting language
user 2: God exactly.
user 1: it’s so dehumanizing, it really goes to show that people do not care about us. like the ppl reblogging going “this is such a fun idea!” FOR WHO?! some of us actually have lived experience. they MAY have sympathy for the one child rule adoptees but that’s probably bc of racism. it’s truly sickening how we r imaginary to them
user 2: EXACTLY no thoughts
foundfamilyhq: Thank you both for taking the time to bring these concerns to me and I can only apologise for the harm that this blog has caused you both and other adoptees who may have seen it and not been brave enough to speak up. While I can assure you that this blog didn't come from intentional malice, it clearly has come from ignorance and I don't wish that to carry on. (Cont.)
foundfamilyhq: I shall suspend activity on this blog and attempt to remove the uninformed, harmful and dehumanising language from it within the coming weeks. I shall make a post including your messages for transparency's sake. Once again, I am sorry for the harm you have received and appreciate you making me aware of matters I have been ignorant on

So I have not been a very good comic creator. Should’ve anticipated this, what with my adhd and piles of wips, but I have run out of backlog. I do have one more page, so I could post tomorrow, but I don’t know when the next page would be after that.
Notably!!! I will probably be taking off for most of July anyway!!! I am an avid participant in ArtFight, so building up a queue again would mean that you get moons during July when you might not otherwise.

☾ Author's Note ➼ Hi Mars!! Thank you so much for sending in a request! I may be a Levi girly, but I gotta admit I had a lot of fun writing this. I definitely did not start this at 2am and decided to stay up til 5am to finish it. I'm queueing this up though, worry not. Also I realized last minute you might have wanted more of the aftermath of waking up in each other's arms so if you would like a second part to this, please let me know?? I wouldn't mind, as I have something in mind that could work. But if I had continued, it would have easily been over 5k words and I need to work on other requests LMAO.

It would figure with your shitty track record, everything and their mother would do anything in their power to stop you from reaching your destination – your hometown. Due to traffic, multiple car wrecks, and now what felt like the heaviest thunderstorm known to man – you find yourself sitting behind the wheel 9 hours into what should have been a 7 hour drive. And according to the GPS display on the dash, you’re still a couple hours away from where you’re supposed to be.
Your knuckles turn white as you grip the steering wheel in distress. The rain comes down in sheets, making the wipers work overtime just to give you a few seconds glimpse at the road ahead. You sat in silence because you had turned the radio off a few miles back so you could focus. A cough to your right startles you and it takes everything within you to not swerve off the road.
“Shit! Megumi, what the fuck.” You hiss, pressing your hand to your chest in a means to calm your beating heart.
“I just coughed, calm down.” Your black haired companion mumbles, rolling his eyes at you. “You’re so dramatic.”
“Well excuse me for trying to keep us alive. If you couldn’t tell, there’s a lot of shit happening outside.” You scowl. In your high-strung concentration, you completely forgot about your best friend sitting in the passenger seat. He’s the whole reason why you’re even going back home in the first place.
One of his friends from high school is getting married back in the hometown where you all grew up. You knew of this friend by association, but that was it. You didn’t even know Megumi back then, even though you went to the same school as him. You had actually met him at the local community college before both getting opportunities in the same city post-graduation. Now that you think back on it, Megumi has been your roommate for as long as you remember.
Maybe that’s why you felt the need to help him when his car decided to take a shit, offering to drive him at the very last minute. You suppose you could have let him just borrow your car, but you were persistent to drive him yourself. You told yourself it was to make sure your car got there and back in one piece. Part of you tells yourself you’re a liar.
Megumi calls your name.
“What?” You squint your eyes, as if that would help you see what was out the blurry windshield.
“Let’s just pull off and get a motel somewhere. This storm is not letting up and it’s already so late. You need a break.”
“I promised to get you there. So I’m doing that.” You frown at the possibility of failing him.
“You’re not breaking that promise by pulling off for the night. We’ll just get up early tomorrow and head straight there.” Megumi insists.
“We’re only a cou-“
“Pull off on the next exit or I’m grabbing the steering wheel from you.” He cuts in wryly.
“Then we’d both be dead, is that what you want?” He doesn’t say anything to that. When you take a second to glance over, you’re met with a slight scowl.
“Ugh, FINE.” You get into the left lane and slow down, waiting for the next exit to come up.
.
Fortunately for you two, there are plenty of places to stay in the little area you pull off into. Unfortunately, every place you call has no vacancies due to this time of year except for a dinky little motel way down the road. It wasn’t your first choice, and you had even offered to drive down to the next exit to find something else. Megumi points out the next exit wasn’t for another 30 miles, so the dinky little motel it was.
“If I get murdered in my sleep, I want you to know it was all your fault.” You mutter to Megumi as you rip open the office door, dripping wet from just a few seconds of being out in the pouring rain.
“You can stay in the car then. It’ll save you money.” He mumbles back quietly.
“Pft, whatever.” You turn your focus to the clerk sitting at the front desk, currently blowing bubbles with chewing gum and scrolling through her smartphone. She doesn’t look up.
“Uh- excuse me?” You call out. She still doesn’t acknowledge you or your friend.
Megumi goes up to the counter and slaps a hand down onto the linoleum covered counter. The clerk jumps up, eyes wide in shock. It takes a moment for her to register there are two customers waiting for her.
“Can I help you?” She says, her tone drenched with boredom.
“Yeah, two rooms please.” Megumi says, holding up two fingers – his ring and pinky.
“Let me see.” The clerk says. She puts her phone down to click around the computer in front of her. She types a few things in, clicks around, then flickers her eyes above the screen to the two of you.
“We only have one room left.” Her monotonous voice was really starting to grate at you.
“Does it at least have two beds?” You ask, annoyance slipping into your voice.
You’re met with a shrug and a pop of bubble gum. You take a step forward, feeling the heat of your frustration simmering. Megumi holds his arm out across your chest and holds you back.
“We’ll take it, thanks.” With that, Megumi pays for it and is handed the keys in turn.
“Check out is 11am. Thanks for staying with us, or whatever.” The lady says, waving her hands dismissively before going back to her phone. If you weren’t so drained, you would have thrown yourself over the counter at her. Maybe it was due to being so drained that you were thinking of doing something so feral. Instead, you take a deep breath and follow Megumi out the door.
The rain still comes down in sheets as you and Megumi rush to grab the bags from the trunk and book it up to the second floor where the room you were staying in lies. Much to your ever growing irritation, the motel in question is one of those that have the open walkways, only the guardrail and overhang serving as protection. Not like it matters anyways, because the rain starts blowing at an angle and pelts you in the face as you struggle to make it to the room.
Your boiling pot of anger threatens to spill over when you stumble into the room behind Megumi to find that there weren't two beds – in fact there was only one. The smallest queen you had ever seen. In the grimiest looking motel room you have ever seen. Dropping your bag to the floor, you groan in frustration.
“That lady sucks.” You rub your face with both hands, pulling your cheeks down and staring over to Megumi. He’s grabbing some extra blankets and a pillow from the storage closet by the bathroom. “What are you doing, ‘Gumi?”
“Getting my spot on the floor ready.” He mutters without looking over to you. After tossing the bedspread onto the floor, he heads to the bathroom. You bound over to him quickly, only to have the door shut in your face.
“Like hell you will. Take the bed, I’ll get the floor.” You shout over the hardwood. He doesn’t respond. Instead of being a normal person who would just wait over the by the bed, you slam your fists into the door.
“You’ve been driving all day. You deserve the bed more than me.” You hear him say, muffled. You stare at the faded, thin carpet under your feet. It’s a dark burgundy, littered randomly with even darker spots. Perhaps it had been a bright red at one point?
“That floor looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since the 90s. Why don’t we just…” You trail off as Megumi opens the door, coming face to face with you. He wasn’t expecting you to be so close. You notice he had changed into dry pajamas, though you’re not sure how he did it so quickly. Nor did you see him bring clothes in with him. You must be really tired.
“Why don’t we just what?” A black eyebrow raises at you in curiosity.
“..Just share the bed.” You mumble under your breath. Turning on your heel, you head over to the side of the bed closest to the wall.
“Do what?” Megumi follows you, frowning slightly. He hadn’t heard you.
“Share the bed.” You say louder, not looking his way. In all the years you both had been roommates, sharing a bed was something that had never come up. It wasn’t needed, for obvious reasons.
“I mean, if that’s okay with you.” He replies back coolly. Your eyes snap up to his, and notice he’s watching you anxiously despite his tone.
“We don’t have to. It was just a suggestion.” You raise your hands up in defense, puffing your cheeks out.
“No, I think it’s the smartest choice we have.”
“You’re sure?”
“I’m sure.”
“Postive?”
“Just go change into dry clothes, dummy.” He rolls his eyes and walks past to his side of the bed. You trill your lips as you push yourself off the bed and into the bathroom after grabbing a pair of pajamas out of your small bag.
You find yourself on your side facing the wall about 10 minutes later. Megumi is tucked under the covers behind you, facing the window you suspect. It’s quiet bar for the ticking of the analog clock on the wall above the tv by the front door. Before getting into bed, he had made sure to lock every lock available to him.
‘Triple reassurance.’ He had said.
You roll onto your back and stare up at the ceiling. That thought from earlier today about why you were so insistent on driving him surfaces to the top of your mind. You turn your head to where Megumi currently lies, his back to you confirming your assumption from before. His black hair pools around his pillow. You think you’re the only person who has ever seen his hair down from his normal spiky style.
“’Gumi?” You whisper over to him. You’re met with silence, which means he must have fallen asleep. Exhausted from the drive today, sleep comes to you just as easily. Your last thought before falling into pitch black nothingness is Megumi's stupidly cute smile.
.
When you wake, you don’t open your eyes right away. You can already tell the sun must be up by the way your eyelids tint pink. Your eyes flutter open and you blink hard a few times to reorient yourself. An ugly navy striped wallpaper glares back at you. Where were you?
You take a second to think. That’s right, you and Megumi had stopped at a motel last night to shelter from the storm for the evening. A small gust of air blows down your neck and it takes everything in you to not jump up and out of bed. Something cinches over your waist and pulls you close and your eyes widen. Wait, Megumi.
Carefully, you slide your hand down to what was around your waist and a breath hitches in your throat. It’s an arm, and not just any arm. It belongs to Megumi – solely based off the fact he was the only one in the bed with you.
By the depth of his breaths, you can tell he’s still sleeping. Good, you think to yourself. Maybe you can move his arm off you gently and not wake him. However, when you go to wrap your fingers around his wrist, he digs his face into your hair and sighs softly. He’s pulling you in closer too, and this is where you’re drawing the line.
“U-uh Megumi.” You say. Your voice is crackly with the lack of moisture.
His breathing steadies out, and suddenly you feel him stiffen up behind you. Slowly, he pulls away and the sadness that comes with the absence of his body heat hits faster than you would have cared to admit.
“S-Sorry.” He mutters behind you, his own voice thick with sleep.
“No, it’s okay.” You squeak out. Pulling yourself out of the covers, you grab your bag and practically run to the bathroom, shutting the door behind you with a soft click.
You don’t come out for another 30 minutes, deciding to take a quick shower to calm yourself down. A few mental arguments later, you feel you can face him. This needed to be talked about. You wanted to talk about it. You take a deep breath and throw the bathroom door open. When you walk out, however, you see Megumi dressed and ready to go by the door, his bag in hand.
“There you are. Ready to head out? If we leave now, we can make it for the rehearsal lunch.” He looks up from his phone that he must have been scrolling on while waiting.
“I-yeah. Megumi, listen-“ You stop with your mouth open, ready to say what you had rehearsed in the steamed up bathroom mirror. But nothing comes out. Instead, you pinch your lips together and give him a nod. “Yeah. Let’s go."

It is just after midnight and I finished my Dreamling Week queue - about 150 posts over the course of the week, so not A TON, but it's everything I had in my drafts. I will also be reblogging pretty much everything I see over the week, so that should make up for it.
The first post in the queueueueue for tomorrow morning is a lil Dreamling Masterpost I made - small yet, but I'm hoping it will continue to grow! I will pin it as soon as it posts in the morning.
For now, bed!

Aaaand we're back in business! ...Kinda. Unfortunately, as per usual, they only really managed to get everything fixed at the last minute, and there are now only about ten minutes left before the queue is set to post.
We still haven't been given many answers about what's happening, but at the very least I should be fine to get back to reblogging stuff tomorrow, especially since they claimed that our internet speed will gradually go back to normal over the next few hours.
Thank you again for the continued patience and support, it really does mean the world to me.
Please stay safe and look after yourselves Darling ones 🖤
#mod speaks#Bunny is sending you all sweet little headbutts and Bug is sending many love bites#also this whole thing seems to have affected the weird text bug I'm dealing with and I'm not sure how... or why#Might have to ask around with a few neighbours to see if they are having similar issues on other sites

Alright, guys!! Tomorrow’s (2/11 PST) queue is more content-heavy than usually, which I had to split into 4 parts. Nothing too bad, about 2000 words altogether.
I decided to post it all in one day because it’ll still be the weekend for a lot you (so sorry my friends from Australia and New Zealand 😭) and it’s supposed to be kind of a “mid-season finale.”
I’m still working on the second half of this generation, and honestly I’m a bit behind!! These kids are growing up and I have to set up generation 2 at the same time :o They probably won’t be a young adult until April..ish? May? But I wish I planned out generation 1 better (I literally deleted a post from like a month ago for consistency 💀 Noemí is NOT supposed to know until Alto’s Bakery until tomorrow. If you saw that post, no you didn’t. Please 🤍🤍🤍🤍 mwah).
I wasn’t expecting for this simblr to be such a creative outlet for me, but it just happened 😅 Soooo, I want to work on this a bit more so I have a path to follow and also just to have fun with the game :) I still want to leave plenty of room for the game (and mods) to lead the way
Speaking of which, my queue is shorter than I’d like it to be, so I’m cutting down the Alegría Legacy posts to 2x a day instead of the usual 3x a day. Miiiiiiight be permanent but it’s probably better in the long-run.
Lookbooks should remain unaffected. I already made most of the sims based on characters that I had in mind, so it’s really just making outfits now lol. I can’t wait to continue with the Bustin’ Out Lookbook/CAS challenge with the sims I’ve made already!
That’s it for now :)

Villain has an obsession with ducks...I don't know why, neither does Hero. Maybe too much Farside?
Listen anon, this is the weirdest request I have ever gotten. I’m Irish and I was like what the fuck is far side, then I looked it up and understood. Thank you for the introduction. I had fun with this one.
PSA— my queue posted this, but I am not deleting it and working on it as it is, I will reblog when it’s finished, but for now feel free not to read as it is UNFINISHED and WIP
*~*~*~*~*
They were a series of random events, Detective had told Hero when they reluctantly had to hand over the case to them on the roof of the precinct. They didn’t know who. They didn’t know what. They didn’t know why. They just knew they were all connected.
“How do you just know?” Hero had asked, head tilting to the detective who was leaning on the railing of the roof, half smoked cigarette rolling between his fingers.
“Call it… intuition. It’s driving me up the wall Hero,” Detective grumbled, rubbing their eye with their free hand. “And the chief just told me there that she needs me on another case. More important. More serious.”
Hero frowned. “Those kids they found is it?”
Detective sighed, tapping the ashes out of their cigarette onto the roof. “Yeah. Chief said I can’t waste anymore time on a case so trivial.”
“You just need it solved.”
“For my own health, Hero. It’s keeping me awake at night. The first thought in the morning. Like a song that’s stuck in your head that’s so familiar and still you can’t get the tune, it’s infuriating.”
“I’ll get it done, detective.”
“Thank you, Hero. Call me when you do. I’ll be waiting with the handcuffs for the bastard.”
“You got it detective.”
Then they were gone.
*~*~*~*~*
When Hero got back to their room they cleared their desk trying to find their thumbtacks, rifling under stacks of books, opening their laptop bag for college, checking under yesterday’s newspaper. Hero let out a huff, turning to their cork board and saw their colourful tack pot staring at them from the windowsill.
Hero sighed and rolled their shoulders as they crossed the room to their tacks before setting to work. They pinned all the relevant information to the cork board and stepped back, eyes scanning the information lazily. They needed a shower and maybe one too many hits to the head that night forced them to go get one and come back to the case later.
And get a coffee, yeah a coffee would be good. Being tired and uncomfortable wouldn’t help them solve the case, and they had college tomorrow…
Hero nodded to themselves then, decided.
Shower. Coffee. Case.
Hero only got the shower part crossed off, dried off and pyjamas on before they were in bed, passed out, snuggled up under the covers.
They woke to their alarm the next morning, too much in a flurry to glance at the case Detective had given them and rushed out of their room and to campus.
The college campus was already lively at ten in the morning when Hero walked onto the main pavilion. School was a few weeks in session but clubs and societies stalls were still lining every green and walkway of Hero’s route to the law building.
Hero walked by the Hero support stall where a boy and a girl were in cheerleader outfits handing out colourful flyers about how Hero licences should be legalised. Hero took one and continued on their way. Hero couldn’t help but agree with them, being a Hero didn’t pay and wasn’t government funded, even though half the Heroes in Grave City had been thanked publicly and given a medal on behalf of the citizens.
Beside the Hero support stall there was a Free Food stall and then a College Socialist party. Hero walked on, and stopped at the giant duck chattering animatedly to a group of people.
It was at an animal rights stall for animal lovers and people who want to make a difference to the city’s problems with strays. Hero came to a stop beside Friend who was staring with a contemplative face at the walking talking duck.
“Riveting stuff,” said Friend with the ever present sarcastic lilt in their voice.
“I can tell. Certainly grabbed my attention,” said Hero with a smile. Friend stepped away from the group and Hero followed, falling into step with them as they walked to class.
“I thought I could get some thoughts on the animal acts essay Ford has me doing for extra credit,” said Friend. Friend didn’t need extra credit. They had a GPA of 4.15, but that wasn’t enough for them. They were determined to get a GPA of 4.2 and no matter what Hero said to them, they always insisted that they could always do better.
“And did you?” Hero asked, holding the door open for Friend who let out a small laugh.
“No,” they said.
Hero shrugged. “At least you got to watch a giant duck quack on about animal welfare.”
“Yeah,” Friend laughed. “They are known to be the vox populi of the animal kingdom.”
“I know,” said Hero. “I’ve read far side.”
Friend rolled their eyes. “Ford would love you.”
“Thought he hated animals?”
“Oh he does,” said Friend with a sigh. “He just loves destroying people’s love of animals and watching their faces drop.”
Hero hummed, “yes but does he know that at any given moment, inexplicably, there could be a duck watching him?”
“I’ll be sure to mention it next time I see him.”
The pair walked to the stairs, split apart when a line of students were walking down between them, and when they regrouped a thought struck Hero.
“I thought you didn’t have Ford this year,” Hero said, eyes sliding to Friend who tensed a little at the question. Hero frowned but didn’t say anything of it as they continued up the stairs to the first floor.
“I didn’t,” Friend grumbled, “in fact, I assured it.”
“But?”
Friend shot Hero a wry smile and said, “but Ford wanted me. And Ford is like a two year old child throwing a tantrum. Ford gets what Ford wants.”
“Ford wanted you? For like, a traineeship or something? Isn’t that good?”
“I busted my arse off to get the best GPA in the top class in the top school in the country, only to work for Ford? It makes me want sick.”
“It’s just for now,” Hero said, trying for a supportive smile. Friend had a faraway look in their eye, their hand tightening slightly on the rail of the stairs as they ascended.
“Just until Ford gets tired of me,” Friend said darkly, then shook their head and smiled at Hero, suddenly more chipper. “Or I get tired of him, but enough about me.”
Hero frowned and then blushed when Friend pulled the Hero Licence flyer from their hand. “I thought you were giving up on this Hero fantasy.”
“It’s not a fantasy, Friend, it’s real. I think the Heroes deserve to get minimum wage, at least!”
“At least? That’s what they get for destroying property and acting like vigilantes? And the Villains, Hero, should they get minimum wage too?”
“Well of course not,” Hero said, rolling their eyes.
Friend smiled. “I can guess the reasons, they terrorise the city, destroy property? Act without a moral code, very like your heroes, isn’t it, Hero?”
“Heroes don’t terrorise the city,” Hero protested and Friend raised their eyebrows.
“Oh yeah? Tell that to the unfortunate Villains who go against them.”
Friend handed Hero back the flyer and flicked them in the forehead. “Ow! What was that for?”
“You’re studying law, Hero. You can’t have these foolish ideals about good and bad, right and wrong. The world is grey, you know this. You have a brain, now use it.”
“I use it everytime I think you’re an arsehole,” Hero laughed and stepped back when Friend lunged at them.
“Aren’t you too old to be wrestling in corridors?” A cold voice asked from behind them, and Friend froze, back immediately going straight as they stood up. Hero frowned, looking over Friend’s shoulder to see Ford standing at the lifts beside the stairs.
“Shouldn’t you be busy making someone else’s life miserable?” Friend spat turning around to face Ford and Hero’s frown deepened. They had never heard Friend speak like that to anyone, they were usually so polite. Even when they hated someone.
Ford smiled, though it didn’t reach his dead eyes. “I reserve misery for you, Friend.” Ford turned and walked towards the offices in the other end of the building. “Come, we have a meeting.”
“I have class now,” Friend said, fists balling at their sides.
Ford looked back over their shoulder, eyes on Hero for the first time and said: “your friend can take the notes for you, can’t you?”
Friend looked back at Hero helpless and Hero swallowed and said: “actually I’m not in Friend’s class right now. Different lectures, I have a tutorial.”
“Hmph,” Ford said, turning back to face Friend and Hero, their glare set on Hero now, and Hero found themselves standing straighter, looking Ford head on. They were nothing but a bully, and they wouldn’t intimidate Hero, especially not with how they were treating Friend. “Fine. Find me after class and we can reschedule,” Ford said and then was gone, walking down the hall not waiting for a reply.
Friend looked back at Hero and smiled and breathed out a small: “thank you.”
“You’re telling me what that was about later on,” Hero said seriously.
Friend patted them on the arm and said, in hopes to appease Hero: “Of course I will.”
*~*~*~*~*
After class Hero went back to their accommodation, dropped their bag on the floor and fell into bed with a long resounding groan.
Then their brain twitched and Hero sat up suddenly, looking again at the case Detective had given them and frowning. There was something off. Something different. Something Hero’s brain knew before Hero did and it set them on edge as they scanned their board trying to find it, that little nugget of information that was staring them right in the face.
Something to tie up all the loose ends, something that runs through every case but as Hero looked and scanned every piece of information more and more, that twinge in the back of their mind receded further and further until Hero was groaning into their bedsheets again.
If Detective didn’t get this how on Earth was Hero supposed to?
Hero was hungry then, their stomach told them so, growling and longing and demanding. Hero wanted Chinese food.
Maybe something with noodles or duck.
Hero left the room, on the search for the menu to the local takeaway. The case slipping from their mind again.
It was only after Hero found the menu (hidden in their hall table drawer under all the other menus) that they froze, gasped, and started sprinting back to their room, menu in hand.
They threw open the door to their room and threw their hands in the air and screamed: “duck!” at the top of their lungs.
Roommate walked by the room in only their boxers and a shirt and said: “you left your door open again Hero.”
Hero didn’t even look away from the board as they grouched: “put some clothes on, Roommate!”
Roommate stopped walking wherever they were walking and stopped at Hero’s door, leaning against the doorframe. “Buy me dinner first.”
“It’s usually the other way around, Roommate. Someone buys you dinner, and then you take your clothes off.”
“I’m guessing you’ll have duck?” Roommate asked and Hero shook their head and walked by Roommate, putting the menu in their hand.
“No, um, not hungry, look buy dinner. My treat. I’ll be out for a while.”
“Don’t have to tell me twice,” said Roommate but Hero was already shutting the door to the apartment.
*~*~*~*~*
“Ducks,” Hero said late into the evening and Detective jumped a mile in the air, dropping their cigarette and exclaiming: “fuck, Hero! I told you to stop doing that!”
“No, Detective, not fuck! Duck!”
“What?!” Detective asked, exasperated, pulling their pack of cigarettes and lighter from their pocket. Hero jumped down from the railing, landing with the grace of a cat on the roof, grinning ear to ear.
“The connection. Between the case! The one you thought was connected but didn’t know how?”
“Ducks?” Detective asked, raising their eyebrows until they disappeared below their hairline. “Really?”
“Yes,” said Hero and took the case file from their bag. “Ducks connects them all!”
“Sounds a bit… I don’t know, Hero,” Detective said with a sigh, exhaling smoke into the cool night air and Hero nodded.
“I know, but just… I have a theory, and if I’m right I know who Villain’s next victim will be. Just trust my gut.”
Detective was silent for a moment, except for the soft crackling inhale of their cigarette. Then they shrugged, as if to say fuck it, and said: “okay kid. I trust you. Let’s follow your gut.”
Hero had researched who was in the duck costume on campus campaigning for animal welfare rights. She lived on campus, but worked at a local bar called the Ugly Duckling from Thursday-Sunday, and that's where Hero and Detective were. They sat in Detective's unmarked car with the power off, watching the bar doors.
Every now and then, Detective would curse and say it was cold, then turn the car on and blast the heat for a minute before switching it off again. They had been sitting out there for an hour and a half now.
"Christ, Hero. When does this girl get off work?"
Hero shrugged. "I don't know. Listen, this isn't a strong lead. It's more like a gut feeling."
"I have a gut feeling to go home and get into bed."
"Come on, Detective, don't you love this? The chase? The wait? The possibilities?"
"I love four things, Hero. My dog, my bed, alcohol and cigarettes. Speaking of..." Detective climbed out of the car and shut the door, leaning against it. Hero heard the distinct snap of his zippo lighter open and click shut with a metal tink. Hero sighed, leaning back against the passenger seat, pulling their hoodie tightly around them.
They pressed their head into the head rest, their eyes scanning the street and the people milling around tonight. They squinted into the dark when they saw the same model car as Friend’s. Same year too on the reg and—
They saw Ford step out with his usual distaste for everything. His movements sharp and strong, brisk but not rushing. Authoritative. Hero frowned when Friend stepped out from the driver’s seat. They watched the pair of them walk into the Ugly Duckling, Ford marching two steps ahead of Friend, letting the door close on Friend.
But Friend didn’t turn into the pub, instead he walked further to the side alley beside it and waited by the side entrance, running a hand through his hair. His nervous tic, Hero recognised with a frown.

Thank youto @cilil, @lordoftherazzles and @conkers-theficwriter!!! for the tags! This is from an upcoming chapter of Reputation Be Damed! I'm working to finish writing the entire fic, and then I will start posting chapters. I'm well on my way to finishing this fic and hope to start posting chapters in late December!
“Perhaps my hands could use a little roughing up.” Bilbo laughed, rubbing his hands together. Thorin said nothing and continued to get the residue off his hands. When he finished, he dried them and pulled Bilbo closer, wrapping his large, calloused hands around his smaller ones. “I would see your hands stay soft and unworn as they are now for the rest of your days. You don't deserve the hands of hard labor.” With that, Thorin placed a kiss on the center of each palm then, without preamble, pulled Bilbo off the bench and onto his feet. “We’re already going to be late. We should leave.” Thorin took off in the direction of the party, leaving Bilbo slightly unbalanced and a little light-headed. Where had Thorin leaned to be so smooth?
A tiny bit more than the last line, just for context.
I am writing this at 1am and queueing it for tomorrow. I'm too tired for tags. I encourage all my writer friends to participate.
#writing games#bagginshield#is this good? I have no idea I'm sleep-deprived#Probably shouldn't write at 1am but here we are
