Pairings: Gen w/ side Catradora, Glitra/Glitradora if you squint.

Rating: Teen+, just for language.  Words: 4685. Chapters: 1/1 (One-shot).

Summary: It’s a single word, slipping out without Catra even considering it. “Bow-“ Catra begins. She gets cut off by his gasp. “You actually used my name!” he squeals. Catra stares at him in confusion – it really is not a big deal. It takes weeks more of “Sparkles” for someone to ask her about it. Not Glimmer, though. Glimmer knows why Catra does not use her name. Focusing on Catra and her dynamic with the others, especially Glimmer.

man i am Thinking about glitra to flares by the script. like some of the lyrics just Fit when theyre on horde primes ship.

these feel like glimmer at the start of season 5 because shes scared shes forever lost bow and adoras friendship, and obviously she feels alone on HPs ship

these ones though just scream catra. besides the obvious parallels of "did you find it hard to breathe?" and hordaks weird atmosphere contraption thing, at this point in season 5 catras lost all her connections, scorpia, entrapta, double trouble, etc. and shes as lonely as ever.

honestly, this feels like both of them. theyre both hurting so much at this point, glimmer feels like she lost her heart for a while after going down her darker path in season 4, and again they both feel alone. but the chorus is what really makes me sob.

in a way, by talking to eachother in horde primes ship, they're sending eachother flares. the last bits of hope theyve got in that case. theyre both hurt and broken at this point, but they're not totally alone because they have eachother. also its fun to think about this from catras perspective bc glimmers whole thing is light.

it honestly took me a long time??? they were on my radar after season 2 when i realized they’re narrative foils, but even with the flirty dialogue and everything i didn’t genuinely start shipping them until 4x13 when glimmer showed catra its ok to admit your mistakes .. like at that point it was just obvious that they’re tied by fate and now i’m like !!!!!!! STRESSED over them

oh my god just... everything we’ve been saying this whole time, how they’re two sides of the same coin, they have more in common than they’d ever think its just that one grew up in Bright Moon and one in the Horde. They both have so much fire in them but when you put them together its like.. there’s so much potential for understanding..... they could be so soft and help each other heal 😭😭 thinking about them on horde prime’s ship is des t r oying m e

how it makes me epic and sexier than anyone who’s not /j umm but seriously probably abt being nby/genderfluid especially is just like. im so glad i dont have to commit to maintaining a gender. like it just seems like a lot of work and im not up for it and im glad i can go months without giving a shit while also somedays being like “hmm. maybe i will think of myself as a dude but a bit off center” and even tho ppl still misgender me its like. my gender is mine and u cant have it.. idk if that makes any sense

A.. lot.. askf;sflk um just some ones that come to mind rn that i like are raydia (tdp), glitra (spop), zukka (atla), qinter (wof) but ofc there’s a ton more. just realised these are all enemies to lovers LAKSFJL (qinter is debatable but eh)

also i’m a little over halfway through the book we set the dark on fire and it features an enemies to lovers wlw pairing with the main character but its more about immigration and feminism with an entirely latine cast and i am LOVING it. idk what the daniela/carmen pairing name is but im living for it!! (i started it last night and read until like 3am aslkjd) but i wont get too in depth but its a rlly good book so far and if anyones looking a book rec (first off come into my inbox anytime ive been reading a lot of new books lately) then definitely check it out ok im done promoting books (for now)

@ so many fucking ppl (not anyone here on tumblr)- when i tell you im genderfluid and i use any pronouns and your reaction is that you should change literally nothing in the way you talk to and about me and simply misgender me and think ur being supportive then!! shut the fuck up!! you are personally responsible for me being a thousand times more insecure about myself since before i came out to you and why i leave the specifics out of my gender even while in LGBT+ spaces and only let people use they/them and neopronouns for me despite WANTING to use she/her and he/him at certain times but like. sure. you totally understand my identity and are such an ally/ so supportive of me /s     this is mostly directed at my mom tbh but a lot of ppl have done this and im still pissed abt it  (some friends used to do this but have listened and stopped and i love yall so much its unreal 💙💙💙)

tbh this is a hard one, bc there aren't many things i actually dislike about her. honestly the closest thing is im personally not a fan of glimbow (nothing wrong with it obviously! just not my cup of tea) but thats not rlly about her specifically but rather a ship involving her. ig it would be how she acted in s4 but even thats not an "i dislike that this happened" bc its one of the best arcs in the show imo (not biased) but rather a "no please realize you fucked up :(" way

My favorite canon relationship

I love love LOVE her friendship with the BFS, which is part of what made s4 so heartbreaking with them being torn apart like that. but im glad they made up in season 5 of course!

My favorite non canon relationship

Glitra. easiest question of my life. ive ranted on and on about how much i love them but the highlights are their dynamic of fun banter, them being narrative foils in arcs down to their designs in s4-5, how many scenarios you can put them in with the whole "enemies/rivals to lovers" thing (catradora is friends to enemies to lovers which is a WHOLE different vibe. a good vibe, just different). don't get me started on the canon interactions we do have! even if they're non canon in the context of the show they're canon in my heart <3
