#i'm so impressed by the morse code and binary code; being a three body fan is so fun!

so on monday, we got a new poster for the three-body spinoff show, and now the official weibo account was just made. AND the SHIWANG AGENDA is still going strong😏🤌!

i mean, just look at the description. it's literally a combination of these two scenes:

it's basically dashi encouraging miaomiao to not give up, and miaomiao telling dashi to stop smoking (lol the old married couple vibe)! some weibo users are saying this is truly a magical combo of something so grand and something so domestic. even though dashi is such a tough and determined guy, he will always listen to miaomiao and not smoke.

also i noticed the morse code and binary code when i first saw the new poster. just as i wanted to take a closer look to see if they actually meant anything, the other shiwang fans have already cracked the code, so we get earth, moon, and jupiter from the morse code

the binary code works out to be 1,674.4 (near earth) which is the earth rotation speed at the equator; 11,200 (near moon) which is the second cosmic velocity; 16,700 (near jupiter) which is the third cosmic velocity.

all the hidden info on the poster is rather fascinating. cnetizens are taking wild guesses at what they could mean (it kinda reminds some people of the wondering earth).

last but not least, three-body community's weibo posted this new plot summary for the spinoff show (along with a cute art saying "director yang, i want to watch this"). from my previous post it's known that yang lei, liu cixin, and the team are still working on the script, so we don't know if this is the finalized plot summary, but there are some updates from the first version of the plot summary.

after project guzheng, shi qiang of course plays a major role in planetary defense council(pdc)'s security team, and wang miao plays a major role in pdc's technology team. and it seems that in the beginning of the show, they are already facing the fact that shi qiang needs to hibernate due to his illness. as these two good friends are preparing to say goodbye to each other, there's an attack on the earth defense plan. in the first plot summary, the main incident was about something being stolen from wang miao's lab, but we don't know if the "attack" in this plot summary is still about the stolen lab material or something else.

shi qiang takes on the job to investigate this matter, but also gets involved in some kind of public outcry. the disappearance of his son also has something to do with everything. so he has to work with wang miao again to solve the puzzles.

I mean, this is very interesting. as yang lei and liu cixin want to integrate the story more into the three-body universe, i can see this plot summary getting closer there. it's also going to be gut wrenching seeing them prepare to say goodbye in the beginning of the show...ahhhhhh, i seriously can't wait!!!
