If being in the vocaloid fandom for 13 years has taught me anything, the recent Kasane Teto resurgence is missing one key ingredient:

A shitty rhythm game for a portable console that is meant to compete with project diva (or I guess now it would be pjsk)

AU where Tsukasa discovers his SEKAI earlier and it quickly becomes his safe space. He goes there constantly and both Miku and KAITO are always there, ready to put on a show with him, play with him, comfort him, whatever he needs. They become his family away from his family.

Whenever his parents have to take Saki to the hospital, anytime they had to miss things like his birthday, anytime he's called weird or has to spend another day/night alone, he goes to his SEKAI.

So, when the day comes he goes to the Wonder Stage for his first day of work (encouraged by his big sister Miku and his parental figure KAITO) he tries to stop Emu from hitting Untitled (Untitled because while he knows what his true feelings are, in this AU for Untitled to change into The World Hasn't Even Started Yet, he needs the rest of WxS). He knows he can invite others into his SEKAI, but it also feels very personal. It feels like he's exposing himself. And rather than kick her out once they get there, he runs off to find a place to hide, because, well, it's kinda embarrassing.

All this to say, it works out in Emu's favor. Because as much as Tsukasa believes it's in terms of him not being able to back out (in other words blackmail), it's because she's able to immediately tell that this place was special. SEKAI was to Tsukasa what the Wonder Stage was to her. A place beloved to them and that felt like home. It was also very much, a safe space with at least one resident always present.

But where Emu would always invite people over and got little to no visitors as time went by, Tsukasa never invited anyone so when one does finally come over he hides. And she understands that this?? Both of them showing up somewhere special?? A place he obviously knows?? Must feel pretty invasive. Yes, she wants to look at everything. To ride the train and play with the plushies. But the first thing she has to do is find Tsukasa and make sure he's okay. Let him know that, if he really wanted her to go, she would go. She wants him to smile and this place looks like a place that would bring smiles, but that can't happen if someone is hiding out of, what she assumes is, fear.
