Edgar pauses to process the embalmer's question. His expression, ever set in a moderate veneer of annoyance, holds firm as he looks over to his brush storage. "...And why would I not? When you work with enough colors, you learn to have multiple to keep your color distinctions clean when you need to." He sighed, sounding disinterested despite the man picking out his brushes of the specified type as he hummed, sorting and trying to pick a few that weren't as stained by the oils he worked with so often as most. "I doubt you would wish to have any staining on your own work..." Once he had selected a few that he deemed suitable, he presented them to Aesop, his tongue clicking. "Take your pick."

Other Embalmers such as yourself seem to loathe me, or simply gawk at my craft. With all these embalmers coming out of the woodwork to seek me out, dare I say, it feels like I have entranced you all like some siren beckoning their prey. So, what of you? Will you stare in awe, or berate me? Will you stand to the side and watch from afar, or come to my siren's call? Either way, the result is not what you expect, but I am willing to reward those brave enough to take action."

Hard to tell what’s on the other’s mind even as he circles like a shark - the only indicator that Antonio has to pick up on the fact that the other is, in fact, not playfully check him out...

-- is the look in his eyes, and the way his soul’s thread whips around behind him - a visual only for the Maestro’s eyes, of which glance between the Embalmer and himself.

“.. What troubles you?” He’ll cut to the chase, playful demeanour dropping like a curtain as he’s too concerned with the other’s mind in this moment.

                campbell  seems   put  off   at  first  by  the  bold  ,  open  inspection  the  embalmer  was  currently  putting  him  under.  he  could  ignore  it  ,  honestly  probably  should  ignore  it  ,  but  he  finds  his  famed  temper  sparking  up  regardless.  the  scars  were  a  touchy  subject  ,  and  intrigue  translates  into  scrutiny  for  the  prospector.  he  hates  it.  years  of  shunning  because  of  these  mars  has  him  on  guard  ,  but  certainly  not  insecure.                 ❝           OI  —  y'  gonna  keep  staring  all  night  ,  carl   ?  ❞
