The rest of the 141 isn’t on the tarmac to welcome you back, just like they weren’t there to see you off. The wounds where your pack bonds used to be pulse with a dull sort of pain. One that’s become easy to ignore. You don’t bother to try and seek them out, just go straight to your room, take the first real shower you’ve had in months—”Showers are for humans, mutt. tbh I can't stop thinking about how i went into Hadestown being like "this is a tragic love story based on a greek myth I enjoy :)" and I came out the other side covered in blood being like "this is a thesis about how capitalism inevitably leads to both personal and global ruin, and so we are duty bound to resist it even as we lose, again and again and again. no matter how impossible it feels or how many times we fail and hit a wall and fall, we try again"
