hiii!
I love your writing sooo much and I just had an idea for a story with Lando (if you write for him)
The idea came to me when I was watching one of his interviews in which he gets asked if he likes cats or dogs and he says that he's DEFINITELY a dog person and hates cats (which should be a crime imo)
Anyway I was wondering if you could write a story in which the reader LOVEEEES cats and Lando likes reader a lot but they tell him that they refuse to date someone who doesn’t like cats so Lando tries to charm/befriend their cat/cats

lando norris x !cat lover reader

You’ve always said you could forgive many things in a relationship—bad taste in music, questionable cooking, even the occasional forgotten anniversary. But not liking cats? Unforgivable. Which is why, when a clip of Lando—your boyfriend of almost a year—where he boldly declares “I just don’t trust cats. They stare at you like they’re plotting your death.”, your phone practically explodes with notifications. And right in the middle of your peaceful Sunday morning, curled up in bed with four purring furballs and one very smug grey baby sprawled on your chest, Lando walks into the room holding his phone like it’s ticking.
“They’re all sending me this video,” he says, deadpan. “And now half the internet thinks we’re about to break up because I disrespected Mister Whiskers the Third.”
You blink at him. “You did. And you disrespected me.”
And that’s when he sighs—loudly, dramatically—and looks your cats in the eye like he’s facing his greatest challenge yet.
“I guess I’m gonna have to win them over, huh?”

lando’s ‘undercover’ GQ interview — 6/23/2025

It starts innocently enough. You’re lounging on the couch in your sunlit living room, a tabby curled against your hip, a calico stretched across your feet, and your ancient, grumpy Persian—Count Meowcula—curled up like a loaf of bread on the coffee table. Lando is still asleep upstairs, likely tangled in the duvet with his mouth slightly open and hair sticking up like a dandelion. You’re scrolling through your phone when the first tag pops up.
@/username000 : NOT LANDO SAYING HE HATES CATS 💀💀💀 @/yourusername come get your man pls
You furrow your brows and click the link.
It’s a recent clip, from the GQ interview he just did the other day. The interviewer shows him an old clip of himself.
And the younger Lando on the video, without missing a beat, replies with boyish arrogance, “Dogs, obviously. Cats are evil. I don’t trust them. They just sit there and judge you.”
Your jaw drops a little. “Excuse me?”
He goes on—oh, he goes on.
“They’re always knocking things off tables. Like, why? For what reason? I could never live with a cat. I’d be on edge all the time.”
You blink at the screen, stunned. A moment later, your mentions erupt like fireworks.
@/username00 : so like… yn owns FIVE cats and lando said THIS?????
@/username0 : the betrayal. the slander. does Count Meowcula know??
@/username1 : if my man ever said this about cats i’d simply let them scratch his eyes out 😭
You let out a little laugh—half horrified, half amused—and glance around the room. As if sensing drama, your youngest cat, a tiny grey kitten named Pickles, climbs onto your lap and stares directly into your phone screen like she’s reading the replies.
“I know,” you murmur to her. “He’s got some explaining to do.”
Almost on cue, heavy footsteps pad down the stairs. You hear a yawn, then a groggy voice.
“Morning…” Lando steps into the room, rubbing sleep from his eyes. He’s in one of your hoodies and a pair of mismatched socks, hair a complete mess.
You swivel your phone toward him, the video paused on the exact moment he says, “Cats are evil.”
He squints. “Oh no.”
“Oh yes.”
Lando flops face first onto the couch beside you, groaning into a throw pillow. “I was, like, twenty! I didn’t know better!”
“The internet disagrees.” You smirk, holding your phone up as notifications keep pouring in. “You’ve got approximately two million cat lovers and a grumpy Count Meowcula very disappointed in you.”
Lando turns his head, eyes squinting at the Persian cat who is, indeed, staring at him with an expression of utter betrayal.
“I told him it was an old interview,” you say solemnly. “He doesn’t care.”
“I’ll never earn his forgiveness, will I?”
“Not unless you make amends.”
He sits up dramatically, pressing a hand to his chest. “Then I have no choice. I must… bond with the cats.”
“Oh?” you tease. “The same cats who are evil? The ones you can’t trust?”
“I was young! I was foolish!” He throws himself at your feet in mock agony. “Please, my love, allow me to prove myself to you—and to Pickles. And to Mr. Whiskers. And… Count Meowcula.” He pauses.
“God, why do they all sound like retired supervillains?”
“Because they are.”
Pickles meows at him, unimpressed. Lando slowly sits back up, adjusting his hoodie and patting his lap. “Alright. I’m ready. Send me your softest warrior.”
You raise an eyebrow. “You’re serious?”
“I’m ready to face the consequences of my words,” he says solemnly. “Bring me the cats.”
One by one, like some ceremonial trial, the cats are introduced. Pickles curls up beside him without protest. Mr. Whiskers claws his leg once, just for good measure, and then lays on his foot. Count Meowcula eyes him for a solid three minutes before climbing onto his lap and promptly falling asleep.
You grab your phone and take a picture of the scene—Lando sitting stiff as a board, surrounded by cats, one paw resting over his knee like a warning.
Moments later, the tweet goes viral. The top reply?
@/alex_albon : petition for Lando to do a cat photoshoot in apology form.
You grin and show it to him.
“Absolutely not,” Lando mutters as Mr. Whiskers licks his hand. “Okay. Maybe. Only if I get to wear the little ears too.”

The stream wasn’t even supposed to happen. It started because Max texted Lando “go live you coward I miss your face”, and then fifteen minutes later Lando was setting up his webcam while you sat cross legged on the couch, cradling Pickles in your lap like royalty. You had no intention of being on camera—until Pickles decided to launch himself from your arms and climb straight up Lando’s hoodie mid-intro.
“AH—oh my god—HE’S IN MY SHIRT,” Lando yelps, half-laughing, half-panicking, while you scramble into frame trying to extract the tiny menace from his hood. The comments explode instantly.
@/username0000 : IS THAT PICKLES??
@/username000: this is already the best stream of the year
You finally wrestle the kitten free and sit down beside Lando, both of you breathless from laughing. Pickles, smug as ever, curls into a perfect ball on Lando’s shoulder like he owns the place.
“He’s… decided to stay,” Lando mutters, eyes wide. “I’m not moving for the rest of the stream.”
“That’s called growth,” you tease. “You used to call him a demon.”
“I still think he is,” Lando says. “He’s just my demon now.”
Then Max joins the call. And everything goes downhill.
“Oi,” Max says, grinning into his camera. “Am I interrupting domestic bliss?”
“Pickles almost crawled into my ribcage five minutes ago,” Lando replies. “So yes, but it’s fine.”
You wave at Max. “Hi Max. I saved your best friend from a feline induced death.”
“Legend,” Max says with a wink. “Though if Pickles had finished the job, I’d finally win our Fantasy league.”
Lando flips him off. The chat goes wild. Over the next half hour, it descends into total chaos. Lando’s trying to game, Max is throwing shade, and you’re in the background trying to keep Pickles from knocking over an open can of Monster with the energy of a feral toddler. At one point a conversation sparks.
Max started. “So YN, how many cats is too many cats?”
You thought for a moment. ”Hypothetically?”
“Yeah.”
“Ten.”
Lando spits out his drink, “TEN?”
You shrugged, “I’m just saying. We have the space.”
Max laughed. “This is how it starts. First it’s one kitten, next thing you know, you’re on a reality show called My Strange Addiction..’”
You laughed, “I’d watch my episode.”
Lando sighed heavily, “Don’t give her ideas, she’s already been measuring out a catio for the balcony.”
The chat is unhinged at this point.
@/username11: lando is literally becoming the cat dad he swore he’d never be and I love it
Then Pickles decides to crawl back onto Lando’s lap mid game, and instead of pushing him off, Lando just says, “Okay okay buddy, you can sit there, just don’t touch the mouse—”
Immediately, Pickles touches the mouse. Lando loses the round. Max howls laughing.
“I’ve been sabotaged,” Lando groans. “By my own child.”
You hand him a tiny sweater. “He earned this.”
Lando holds up the sweater to the camera—soft knit, neon orange, a little lightning bolt stitched across the back.
“It’s giving superhero sidekick,” Max says. “He needs a cape.”
“Don’t tempt me,” you say, already pulling out your phone to text your Etsy supplier.
By the end of the stream, Pickles is asleep on Lando’s chest, purring, and Lando’s stroking his tiny head absentmindedly while bickering with Max about who cheated in karting back in 2015.
“He’s so gone,” Max mouths into the camera, pointing at Lando, who doesn’t even notice because he’s too busy whispering, “You’re my best mate, but if you ever touch my mouse again, I swear—” to a literal sleeping kitten.
The final shot before the stream ends? Lando kissing the top of Pickles’ head without even realizing he’s doing it. The comments explode. And the clip goes viral.

You come home expecting the usual—a trail of cat toys on the stairs, a half consumed cup of Lando’s coffee on the kitchen counter, and Pickles dramatically lounging in your spot on the couch. What you don’t expect is Lando standing in the hallway with his hands behind his back and the guiltiest grin on his face.
“What did you do?” you ask instantly.
“Why do you assume I did something?” he replies, rocking on his heels.
“You only smile like that when you’ve either crashed a scooter or spent a suspicious amount of money.”
“I prefer the term invested.”
You narrow your eyes. “Lando…”
He takes your hand. “Okay. Just… come with me.”
He leads you to the balcony, practically vibrating with excitement. The sliding doors are already open, and the cats are pacing back and forth like they know something’s up. And then you see it. A catio.
Not just any catio. A custom, multi-level, architectural wonderland that stretches across half the balcony. There’s a tunnel system, clear bubble pods for sunbathing, platforms shaped like trophies, and tiny nameplates engraved for each cat. At the top—of course—is Count Meowcula, looking down on his kingdom like he’s about to demand taxes.
You blink. “Lando. What the hell is this?”
“It’s a Catio 2.0,” he says proudly. “Designed it with a guy from Reddit. Don’t ask how much it cost.”
You turn to him, stunned.
“And this?” you say, gesturing to the racing stripe hammock that literally says “PICKLES’ PAD.”
He scratches the back of his neck. “Okay that part was my idea. And the tiny pit wall.”
There is a tiny pit wall. You burst out laughing, hand over your mouth. “I can’t believe you did this.”
He shrugs, pulling you into a hug. “You said they deserved fresh air and enrichment. And I figured… if I’m gonna be a cat dad, I might as well go all in.”
You lean up and kiss him, dizzy with love. “You’re ridiculous.”
“I know,” he grins. “But you love me anyway.”
It started as a joke. You were scrolling through Instagram with Lando one night, curled up on the couch while Pickles aggressively kneaded his thigh. Zhou had just posted yet another selfie with Sweetcorn, his fluffy, spoiled cat, perched on his shoulder like a queen.
Lando squinted at the screen. “I’m starting to think Zhou loves that cat more than he loves people.”
You smirked. “I respect it. Honestly, I love sweetcorn too.”
“Okay, weird. But what if we got him, like… a Sweetcorn pillow?” Lando said, half joking, half serious.
You stared at him. “Wait. That’s actually genius.”
Two weeks later, the package arrives.
A two foot long plush pillow—an eerily accurate, almost too realistic version of Sweetcorn, down to the slightly tilted ears and smug expression. You nearly cry laughing when you pull it out of the box. Lando holds it up like he’s presenting Simba.
“We’ve peaked,” he declares. “This is our legacy.”
You’re both waiting outside the Ferrari hospitality unit when Zhou walks up, sunglasses on, coffee in hand, completely unprepared.
Lando grins. “Got you a present.”
Zhou raises a brow. “What’d you do?”
Then you pull the pillow out from behind your back and hold it up proudly.
Zhou stops. Blinks. Takes off his sunglasses in slow motion.
“You did not.”
“Oh, we did,” you laugh. “Meet… travel-sized Sweetcorn.”
Zhou stares at the pillow, mouth open, completely speechless. Then, without a word, he drops his coffee and takes the pillow in his arms like a long lost child.
“I’m never sleeping alone again,” he says.
Lando bursts out laughing. “We made it extra squishy so you’d get maximum cuddle support.”
Zhou is still cradling the pillow, already doing voices— “‘Who needs anyone when I’ve got you, Sweetcorn 2.0.’”
You snap a picture of him holding the pillow like a baby, and before long it’s all over social media.

WOW.
Okay, after a night's sleep, I have decided that yeah, there is value in responding to this absolutely steaming pile of ignorant, self-centered, self-important, anti-intellectual, b.s.
It looks like a number of people in the notes were swayed, at least to some degree, by this garbage, so I think it is worth trying to show why it is nonsense.
(Also it's possible I'm still spoiling for a fight after being denied an evidentiary hearing on Friday.)
I'm not reblogging the post because folks don't need a self-aggrandizing tantrum on their dash, but I do think it is worth taking a look for yourself, in order to practice your analytical skills. Some questions to consider as you read:
(1) What is OP saying in her original post? What claims is she making?
(2) How, if at all, does the poster respond to claims OP made? What claims is the poster saying that OP made? Do these match what OP actually said? If not, (a) what techniques does the poster use to transform what OP said into the claims the poster is claiming OP made? (b) What rhetorical purpose does it serve for the poster to warp OP's claims?
(3) What affirmative claims is the poster making? What evidence or arguments do they provide to support their claims? Do they explore any of the specifics or real world implications of their claims? If not, what real world implications of their claims can you think of?
(3) What other rhetorical techniques does the poster use to bolster their argument? Do these techniques actually enhance and support the substance of their argument?
(4) Relatedly, how does the poster play into the biases of their assumed audience (tumblr users with generally progressive policies). What claims do they make to play into those biases? What evidence or argument, if any, do they make to support those claims? Are these claims by the poster reasonably related to the claims made by OP?
Now, let's explore their response in detail!
(Also obviously don't harass the poster, and I would recommend not directly engaging with them at all. Harassment is vile and makes you far worse than them. And earnest engagement is unlikely to be productive - the OP tried to engage with them politely (and even offered to help) in the notes of poster's original post. In response, the poster (1) implied that OP is an obsessive rude busybody. (2) Told OP to "Shhhhh. Chill." (in response to (paraphrased), 'hey, the advice someone else gave you is probably a waste of time and effort'). (3) And finally, after condescendingly telling OP, "Breathe. Practice radical acceptance. Know that I am here on the other side of the internet, flagrantly wasting my effort and thinking of you every second of that time," proceeded to prove that they were, in fact, "thinking of [OP] every second of that time" by searching OP's blog to find this post by OP and dumping this Arrested-Development-level demand to be taken seriously in the reblogs.)
(All of which is to say: hi, poster who was "being vagueposted about." I assume you are reading this, because you demonstrably don't have the good sense to block and move on. I'm not going to block you in advance, because I think you have the right to make your own terrible decisions, and I suspect any response you make is going to be *very* funny. See you in the notes!)
So, let's go through the poster's response, paragraph by paragraph.
They begin by doubling down on the stance that, "any sufficiently deep enthusiasm is indistinguishable from academic rigor." This, they say, is their defense of that stance. Let's see how it goes - but first, I think it's worth remembering, OP's original post is literally a single sentence long.
OP's claim, paraphrased, that the claim that "any sufficiently deep enthusiasm is indistinguishable from academic rigor" is incorrect and anti-intellectual. If we read the OP's tags, she clarifies that enthusiasm is valuable, but different from expertise.
The poster starts their defense with a long...explanation that the structure of their claim was a reference to the Arthur C Clarke's third "law" (read: sci-fi fiction adage).
*deep breath*
Ok. I'm a big a fan of wordplay as the next person. And I know from personal experience that it can be really frustrating to do some fun wordplay to make a point, and then get misinterpreted here on tumblr.com.
But. The wordplay has to make a point for it to be relevant to your defense. OP's claim wasn't "this poster did a bad job with the linguistic structure of this sentence and is not familiar with classic sci-fi." How does the "rhetorical structure" of the poster's claim support the substance of their claim???
It doesn't, is the answer. The poster explicitly asks this question later down, but then they never actually answer it. Instead, the rhetorical effect of this whole digression is just to throw out surface level references to things (Arthur C Clarke! "AI"!) that might make the poster sound more thoughtful and knowledgeable. It also creates distance from OP's actual point - as the post continues, the poster has to remind us what they're talking about. This gives the poster more control over the narrative, over what claims are under discussion.
Which leads to the poster's next paragraph: the unanswered question of why the poster structured their claim to resemble a sci-fi author's famous quote, and a baseless attack on OP.
And I think it is worth really lingering on this attack on OP. The poster claims, OP perhaps is "misreading or misinterpreting" the poster's point. But what on earth is the poster talking about? OP literally just quoted the poster's exact words and then said that they think this is anti-intellectual. What "misreading or misinterpreting" is being done?
No. Instead, this attack rhetorically sets up the poster's next couple paragraphs: not actually defending their claim as OP originally quoted, but reinterpreting their own words, providing their own special unique meaning that they will then proceed to use for the rest of the post. They are redrawing the rhetorical bounds of the conversation. Rather than defending their stance, they are redefining their stance so that it matches the defense they now want to make.
(Which is still bad. It's a bad defense and it makes me very angry.)
The poster proceeds to define "academic rigor" in a way that just means, "enthusiasm." Notice how no part of their definition includes things like critical thinking skills, building up a knowledge base, testing ideas, receiving criticism (wow I wonder why), or any expertise or action to build up and test that expertise. It's just what a person "cares very much about," how much "curiosity" they have; some inherent quality someone who "NEEDS to know." (Also hit the bell for another surface level reference - this time to Herodotus - to make the poster sound more knowledgeable.) If you actually read the poster's definition, it is entirely "idk vibes i guess."
Now, having defined "academic rigor" as enthusiasm, they successfully declare that enthusiasm is a necessary precondition of enthusiasm.
And then, we get the best paragraph of this entire tantrum of a post: "Any sufficiently deep enthusiasm is indistinguishable from academic rigor. It's like a fractal -- the closer you look, the more complicated it gets." No only is this another attempted surface level reference, this time to fractals, but just. What is this supposed to mean. At a glance, it seems like it kind of follows from the last paragraph - maybe, the more an enthusiast looks at something, the more there is to know? But the closer you look at this sentence, the more nonsensical it gets. What does things getting more complicated the more you look at them have to do with academic rigor (either a real definition or the poster's enthusiasm-based definition)? More importantly, what does it have to do with proving the point - that enthusiasm is indistinguishable from academic rigor? (You might as well say, "the further you fall down the rabbit hole, the deeper you realize it goes," except then more people would realize you are expressing straight conspiracist reasoning oops.)
Now, several paragraphs in and having firmly taken control of the rhetorical boundaries of the argument, the poster finally decides to provide some context to the original statement (and needlessly insult OP for trying to be helpful again).
The poster correctly quotes relevant parts of the discussion (although mischaracterizes their own responses as "polite" instead of "incredibly condescending and rude"). However, the poster then immediately characterizes OP's response as "muddied." Because words have objective meanings, however, we do not need to accept this characterization. OP expressed her argument very clearly. Rather, it is the the poster who claimed that OP was making an argument that she was not, which we can paraphrase as, 'passion and capacity for learning are limited to formal education at academic institutions.' It would be convenient for the poster if OP was making this argument, because it could be easy to argue against. But since OP clearly stated that she does not believe this clearly incorrect thing that the poster made up in her head, the poster claims that her response was "muddied."
The poster emphasizes this false claim in the next few paragraphs. They say, "to me she seems to be arguing that one MUST (?) receive formal training at an academic institution ("academic training" "trained expertise") in order to achieve that level of rigor." But OP simply doesn't say that. You can look at the reply the poster quoted, it doesn't say what the poster says it does.
Now, this is speculation on my part, but I think the poster really believes that OP is saying 'passion and capacity for learning are limited to formal education at academic institutions.' I think they believe this because its how they feel when they hear the (correct) statement that enthusiasm does not equal expertise. The poster repeatedly says that they think that enthusiasm for learning is the same as expertise. They throw a tantrum after receiving the slightest, politest, disagreement. They think someone giving them advice that hey, maybe its a good idea to get a basic foundation of knowledge before cold-emailing experts is a busybody who is obsessed with lecturing them. The poster simply, demonstrably, doesn't believe expertise is real, and refuses to admit that someone else might know more or better than them. If they "care very much about getting it right," how dare you say they aren't as good as anyone with "academic training," fuck you very much you elitist jerk.
This sense is emphasized by their next paragraph. First, they shift the rhetoric framework of the conversation again. The actual claim the poster says they are defending is that "any sufficiently Deep Enthusiasm is indistinguishable from Academic Rigor" (emphasis added). Now, they are claiming that OP means that no one outside of an academic context "has the capacity to learn what rigor means in their field." These are very different claims, but the poster shits between them seamlessly.
Second, they just completely misunderstand what academic rigor is. I'm sorry, you can read every book and article and (*sigh* dear god) TED talk in the world, that doesn't make you an expert, and that's not academic rigor. A large part of academic rigor is in how you critically engage with what you read. Otherwise you just end up, at best, with a bunch of shallow facts that you can "whip out at dinner parties to impress [your] acquaintances" or sprinkle as references in arguments on tumblr to make you sound smarter.
But no, the poster confirms in the next paragraph, you don't need critical thinking or training or people who will tell you that you are wrong. All you need is the information. And if you disagree, you are arguing in favor of "the ivory tower." (Take a drink.)
In the next two paragraphs, the poster pays lip service to the idea that sure, it's easier to learn in academia. But even then, they imply that somehow that's the easy route, that good learning environments create weak men, that people who are self-taught are the ones who are actually building up the critical thinking skills because someone doesn't just "tell them the answer."
Then, before the readers have a chance to absorb, wait, did you really just say that academia is really just having someone either tell you the answer or where to look for the answer and therefore unsuitable for "sincerely love to learn," (because you are, in fact, anti-intellectual), the poster then throws in a bunch of shallow buzz phrases about how higher education isn't available to a lot of people.
And I say these are just shallow buzz phrases for two reasons. First, the poster never actually engages with this lack of access. It's just sprinkled in, like the references to Arthur C Clarke and Herodotus. (For example, no, actually, "any sufficiently MOTIVATED person" can't actually access all this information that is online. You need a stable internet connection, devices to allow you to make use of that connection, to speak or read the language those materials are published in, enough time and sleep and food and goddam shelter.)
Second, this doesn't actually have anything to do with the actual claim that the poster is supposedly defending. Remember that? Remember the position the poster is arguing for? "Any sufficiently deep enthusiasm is indistinguishable from academic rigor." How does, "some people can't go to college" support that claim, specifically?
It doesn't, which is why the poster's next paragraph instead claims that OP is arguing that "those people do not have the ability to hold themselves to a rigorous standard of learning."
Which just.
Fuck you?
Because yeah, that would be a shitty opinion to hold! And you are the only person raising it! You are explicitly making the claim - fuck, perpetrating the anti-intellectual worldview - that anyone who suggests "caring about something does not inherently equal subject matter expertise" is an elitist who thinks that everyone else, ordinary people, real Americans, are stupid.
I'm gong to be honest, this is the part of the poster's claims that made me mad enough to respond. The notes include people agreeing that academics and "experts" are actually pretty elitist, aren't they, and they deserve to be "taken down a few pegs," that suggesting that you need a baseline level of knowledge or vocabulary before you can engage deeply with a subject is "gatekeeping."
The U.S.'s institutions are crumbling as they are dismantled by people that are making these exact same arguments. There is no meaningful difference in the reasoning of the poster's argument here, and the argument that "alternative medicine" hacks who never completed their medical training have sufficient credentials to run goverment agencies, and that if you bring up their lack of credentials, well, that just proves what an elitist you are.
The "worldview" the poster does not accept - is telling you not to accept - is the idea that expertise exists at all.
And because that is an incorrect and harmful worldview, the poster has to use a bunch of rhetorical tricks to hide what they are doing. And then to sell it, they throw in a bunch of words to stir up the audience's preconceptions and biases. OP's claim (again, that enthusiasm and academic rigor are not equivalent) is "racist and imperialist." Why? Don't worry about it. Something something college is expensive and inaccessible to a lot of people. All you need to remember is that these ivory-tower academics are The Bad Thing.
*deep breath*
Anyway, knowing we need a laugh to bring the mood back up, the poster then says someone on reddit criticizing your argument is an "informal version[] of the peer-review process." Besides betraying a deep ignorance of the nature of peer-review (I guess even knowing how academic processes work is also elitist?), I think this means that the poster has to be cool with my post here, right? Because I'm just doing peer review? (Because also, just to be clear: "the academic structure of the peer review is a formalized process of the very human impulse to gleefully tell other humans when they’ve stuck their foot in their mouth." No. This is just. No.)
Next, more misstating OP's original claim. The poster says, "An institution of formal learning is not a prerequisite to pursue and absorb information," which OP already agreed with in the comments of the poster's original post.
In support of this claim that no one is arguing with, the poster than makes up a "guy at the model airplane shop who seems to know absolutely everything that has ever been known about WWII planes," and asks, "why don’t we acknowledge him as a legitimate expert?" The poster implies that this is because this guy is autistic and OP is a bigot.
But the real answer is simpler:
Unless you are referring to something you chose not to link for some reason, he's made up. He's a made up guy in your brain. And OP never said anything about him, so it's really weird for you to criticize OP for not sufficiently praising him as an expert. Fanfic isn't reality.
To the extent we are talking about real phenomenons - who do you mean by "we" and what do you mean by "acknowledge him as a legitimate expert"? There are lots of people with legitimate expertise, and in my experience, they often are recognized as such. And I don't know where you live, but outside of revenge-fantasies of conservative pundits and the people who are mislead by them, most academic experts aren't exactly exhausted and prestige and praise.
'Knowing a lot about a subject' is not the same as academic rigor. This isn't a criticism or insult to people who know a lot of things, despite your weird, self-centered hang-ups. Let me be clear here, actually: I am not an academic. I am a lawyer. I know a lot about the law in the areas I practice in. I do not practice the law "with academic rigor" because that's not really meaningful. I also like to constantly learn more about the law, including in many areas I don't practice in. I am not an expert in those areas. Just as an academic who studies the law and legal practice would not necessarily be good at actually practicing the law, my enthusiasm does not mean I have academic expertise (and my academic training is rather rusty, this many years out). This is normal? My ego is not threatened by acknowledging different kinds of expertise and knowledge exist?
And perhaps most to the point - "seems to know absolutely everything that has ever been known about WWII planes." "Seems to." An important part of academia - part of what makes it rigorous, if you will - is that you actually have to prove your expertise to other experts. They are then "recognized" as experts because there is a process the public can usually trust that they don't just "seem to" know what they are talking about. If you are talking to an amateur enthusiast - how do you know you they actually have the expertise they claim to have? Because I know of some guys who are really enthusiastic about the, claim to be experts, and have a lot of strong opinions about how they have reclaimed their Sovereign Identity by not capitalizing the letters in their name.
I agree with the poster's final paragraph. I love learning. But I can't see this as anything other than a manipulative postscript, a rhetorical trick of ending on a point of agreement and mutual enthusiasm. By a person - and I can't emphasize this enough - who refused assistance in learning and threw an enormous tantrum because someone suggested hey, maybe its a good idea to get a basic foundation of knowledge before cold-emailing experts.

A/n: We all knew this was coming after my drabble LMFAO. Thank you all for 100 followers!! I promise I'm working on something for Rafayel and Xavier rn. One of the two full length Caleb fics I have is almost done, I just despise writing long form smut so it's taking forever 🥸 anyway thank you reading my stuff!!
Puppy hybrid Caleb who is loyal, super cuddly, a great companion, and super well behaved! Well… mostly well behaved.
Puppy hybrid Caleb who has a habit of whining the second hears you pick up your keys. He knows that means you're leaving for work, leaving him!
Puppy hybrid Caleb who makes it an effort to hide your keys now. You always find them eventually but you are so sick of being late to work.
Puppy hybrid Caleb who sits by the door and waits for you to return from work everyday. His ears drooped and his tail tucked behind him.
Puppy hybrid Caleb who decided to take up stealing your clothes while you're away at work now. Out of spite, because how could you do this to him!
Puppy hybrid Caleb who is particularly fond of stealing your panties. They smell the most like you, that's definitely the only reason why, it's not because smelling them makes him feel all fuzzy. Definitely not…
Puppy hybrid Caleb who maybe takes a break from intensely watching the door in anticipation of your arrival back home and lays on your bed. Burying his face into your pillow huffing your scent.
Puppy hybrid Caleb who gets a little overwhelmed by your scent and gets intensely horny. He didn't mean to… He just gets this way when he misses you. He's a good boy, he swears!!
Puppy hybrid Caleb who fishes a pair of panties you changed out of this morning from your hamper, bringing it to his nose. His tongue finds the dried slick that you left behind, giving it a test lick.
Puppy hybrid Caleb who enjoyed that a little too much his tail wagging, his ears perked, his dick stiff in his pants.
Puppy hybrid Caleb who flops back down on your bed, panties still pressed to his nose. His hips rut against the mattress. Soft little whines escape his mouth.
Puppy hybrid Caleb who can't take it anymore and drops his pants to wrap your panties around his throbbing cock.
Puppy hybrid Caleb who jerks off using your panties. His hips meeting his hands with each thrust, his canines leaving bite marks on your pillow as he attempts to keep his moans to a minimum.
Puppy hybrid Caleb who cums all over your panties with a sharp whine, some of it drips onto your sheets. He'll worry about that later.
Puppy hybrid Caleb who's whole body freezes the second he hears the door open to the bedroom. “Caleb! Bad dog!!!"
Puppy hybrid Caleb who isn't allowed to sleep in the bed tonight after the stunt he pulled today.

Here are some tips for appropriate behavior as an ally:
99% of the time, you should not talk about yourself (like mentioning things you've done or how something makes you feel) on somebody else's post. There are a few exceptions (like a personal anecdote that strengthens OP's point), but usually it's inappropriate.
You might see a post talking about a thing and feel compelled to talk about another thing it reminds you of or feels adjacent to. Sometimes people don't mind this, but it's also highly contextual and depends on the person you're responding to. Usually, it's considered inappropriate behavior.
When in doubt, add nothing and only use filing tags. Remember, you can always make your own post or vent in a private journal.
Learn to manage your own feelings and work through them in appropriate settings. Practice mindfulness, try journaling, talk to your friends, a therapist, your priest, whatever. People advocating for their rights have a lot to do and worry about, it's not reasonable to expect them to manage your feelings or listen to your confessions.
It takes time to learn how to talk about issues with all of the depth and nuance they deserve. Trying to be a teacher after a few weeks of research is a bad idea. If you're new and not well-read, focus on boosting other people's stuff.
Research stuff for yourself as much as you can. There are some people who will be happy to explain things for you, but lots of people are tired and nobody likes repeating the same 101 stuff forever. Searching DuckDuckGo for simple phrases like "systemic racism" or "systemic transphobia" are good places to start.
Go read Information Literacy Basics 101 while you're at it, to improve your research game.
Everybody advocating for their rights is tired and stressed out to some degree. Don't take it personally if they're short with you, and refrain from snapping back. Yes, even if you think they're wrong.
You should generally trust oppressed people when they talk about their own personal experiences, but you don't have to take literally everything they tell you at face value. Distinguishing between people talking about their own experiences and the narratives they use to explain and makes sense of those experiences is a crucial skill.
Posts generalizing about a privileged class are not inherently posts demonizing a privileged class. "All men want to rape" is demonization, "cis men are responsible for most rape" is not. Learn to distinguish between them and don't react to the latter as if it's the former. Bend like a reed in the wind and let it pass over you and through you etc.
Feeling uncomfortable is to be expected, and you have to get used to it. You will hear a lot of things that reframe a lot of things you took for granted in a very negative way. That said - you need to be able to distinguish between feeling uncomfortable and accumulating actual psychological damage. If you start feeling like you're irreparably broken or like you deserve to be punished for having privilege, that's unhealthy.
Acknowledging systemic oppression and the need to dismantle it doesn't mean you need to adopt an us vs. them mentality. In fact, that kind of mentality is unhealthy and harmful. Watch out for that because it can sneak up on you.
No matter what anyone tells you, performatively traumatizing yourself (such as by viewing gory pictures) is not activism. See Bellingcat's article How to Maintain Mental Hygiene as an Open Source Researcher.
You might be tempted to share gory photos because you think it'll get more attention and make people care more. However, sharing photos of murder victims is widely considered disrespectful and traumatizing people will not make them better activists.
This is what I've got right now; additions are welcome.

series masterlist
The invitation arrived on a Monday, tucked inside a cream-colored envelope with the kind of dramatic embossing only someone like David Rossi would consider necessary. Both of our names graced the front and Spencer’s eyes lit up like Christmas morning when he opened it.
“‘You’re invited to a celebration of friendship, food, and fine wine at Chateau Rossi.’” He grinned as he read it, shaking his head. “He named his house. Of course he named his house.”
I laughed from the couch, legs tucked beneath me and a half-completed crossword puzzle in my lap. “What’s the party for?”
“I’m sure he has his reasons,” Spencer said, turning the card over like it might reveal more secrets. “It’s not a birthday or an anniversary or a retirement or anything. I think he’s just bored and rich.”
“Sounds about right.”
Spencer looked at me with a kind of boyish hope, a spark I didn’t see often but always loved when it surfaced. “Rossi said a bunch of old team members are all coming into town for it. Morgan, Hotch, Blake... everyone. It’ll be amazing.”
Something fluttered in my chest — mostly joy, but tinged with a touch of nerves. I kept my tone light. “You sure I won’t be crashing a BAU greatest hits reunion?”
He crossed the room in two steps and stood in front of me, hands warm on my shoulders. “I want you there. That’s the whole point. And I’m sure everyone else will be bringing their partners, too.”
I looked at him for a long moment, my lips curling into a soft smile. “Then we’ll go.”
—
Five days later, I stood in front of the mirror with the front of my deep green midi dress clutched in place. Spencer stood behind me, eyes focused. His knuckles grazed my lower back, feather-light, teasing the sensitive skin along my spine before catching the zipper between his thumb and forefinger. He leaned forward, pressing a soft, lingering kiss between my shoulder blades, and my breath caught in my throat.
“You’re moving awfully slow for someone who’s supposed to be zipping me up,” I murmured, eyes half-closed as I watched his reflection through heavy lashes.
He raised his gaze to meet to mine in the mirror, dark and playful, a slow smile spreading across his lips. “I’m just admiring you. Thoroughly.”
Turning slowly in his arms with my dress only half-zipped, I slid my hands up his chest, feeling the warmth of his body through his crisp shirt. “Flattering me into social functions? That’s low, Dr. Reid.”
“Effective, though, right?” His voice was a husky murmur, his mouth hovering close enough to mine that I could taste the faint sweetness of his breath.
I answered by pulling him into a deep, slow kiss, one that unraveled my resolve with every brush of his lips, every gentle sweep of his tongue. Spencer’s hands tightened around my waist, fingers gripping me possessively as he pressed his hips into mine, drawing a soft gasp from my throat. My hands found their way beneath his jacket, gripping the smooth fabric of his shirt, tugging him even closer.
When we finally pulled apart, our breathing was uneven as I rested my forehead against his, our eyes closed as we steadied ourselves.
“We can’t. We’re already late,” I whispered softly.
He exhaled slowly, nodding with reluctant agreement as he reached around to pull my zipper up the rest of the way. “Then let’s go before we don’t.”
—
David Rossi’s mansion was every bit the chateau he claimed it to be — glowing lanterns in the trees, jazz filtering through the air, tables draped in white linens, fountains twinkling beside flower beds that probably each had their own landscaping teams. The whole thing looked like the opening scene of a very expensive movie.
Spencer held my hand tightly as we crossed the lawn.
“They’re all going to love you,” he said. “Just wait.”
He believed it. I tried to believe it too. The anxious knot in my stomach said otherwise, but I smiled and nodded. This meant something to him — returning to this circle, showing me off like a part of his present that could stand beside his past. I’d met some of them before, but never all at once — and never like this.
I wanted, desperately, to belong to all of it.
Garcia greeted me with a flourish and a kiss on both cheeks. “You made it! I was starting to worry you two were going to skip out and stay in bed all night.”
“Tempting,” Spencer murmured under his breath for only me to hear, squeezing my hand.
“Hi, Penelope,” I said, smiling. “This place is incredible.”
“Oh, Rossi doesn’t know how to do anything halfway,” she said, eyes twinkling as she began to pull me along with her. “Come on, there’s champagne and stuffed mushrooms and something with truffle oil I can’t pronounce.”
—
One of the former members of Spencer’s team, Alex Blake, approached me at the bar and introduced herself. “Spencer told me you’re a nurse at Millburn. That’s vital work — thank you for doing it. Correctional healthcare doesn’t get nearly the attention it deserves.”
I blinked at her, surprised and touched by the comment. “Thank you,” I said. “That… really means a lot.”
For the first hour, it was easy. We sipped champagne under the lights. Penelope made me laugh. Alex asked smart questions. Luke and Tara and Matt were nice, too. Spencer stayed close, his hand constantly brushing mine or curling lightly around my waist. He was so clearly happy to be here and to have me here with him that it made something in my chest ache in the best way.
But then the night deepened. Conversations shifted. Circles formed.
I watched Spencer drift naturally between pockets of conversation. He looked like a younger, happier version of the man I knew, catching up with Derek Morgan and Aaron Hotchner, laughing loudly at something Tara said, hugging Emily with a kind of familiarity that came from war zones and grief and saving lives together. He slid so easily into that past — like muscle memory, the kind built from years of trust and friendship. Still, it kind of sucked that I couldn’t totally slide in alongside him.
I didn’t mind — not at first. I picked at a small plate of food, wandered the edge of the garden, refilled my drink. But slowly, invisibly, the distance started to hum.
The first pang hit when someone I’d already met — an agent named Anderson — introduced himself again. A small thing. Forgivable. But it knocked me slightly off balance. I smiled through it. Laughed politely. Told myself it didn’t matter.
Then came the question: “So, how did you and Spencer meet?”
I answered carefully. “At Millburn. I’m a nurse in the infirmary there.”
The air shifted. A tight smile. A polite nod. And then the conversation wandered away without me. It wasn’t rude. It wasn’t intentional. But I still felt it like a bruise forming.
—
Candles flickered down the center of a long table set for twenty, silver gleaming beside fine china. Spencer sat across from me, deep in conversation with Luke and Hotch. I ended up beside JJ’s husband Will, who passed me a basket of bread and offered a sympathetic smile.
“You surviving?” he asked.
I gave him a wry look. “Trying to.”
He chuckled. “Took me years to get used to how tight this group is. Even now, I still mostly just nod and smile and try to act like all the inside jokes don’t go right over my head.”
I laughed softly. “Sounds like a solid strategy.”
“Seriously though, don’t worry too much about all of this. You’re doing great. Getting integrated with the BAU crew just takes some time.”
I nodded gratefully, feeling slightly less alone.
Across the table, conversation flowed around me, punctuated by laughter and anecdotes that stretched back years. Hotch shared updates about his son Jack’s travel soccer team. Derek proudly displayed photos of his little boy, Hank Spencer Morgan. Laughter broke out recalling a time Derek and Spencer got trapped in an elevator, anxiously calling out for Hotch as if he might magically appear to rescue them. There were more tales of prank wars and Halloween costumes and magic tricks in the bullpen.
Spencer’s laughter was bright, his eyes shining. I loved hearing the stories, loved watching him come alive in the telling of them, even the ones I’d heard before. I laughed along softly, but inside, I wondered if this part of him would always feel slightly out of my reach.
Spencer looked at me a few times. Smiled across the candles. But he didn’t see it. Not yet.
Later, while he talked with Emily and Tara about a recent case in Miami, I wandered back toward the garden. The string lights overhead seemed to blur slightly. I stood in the corner of the patio and tried to breathe.
Someone offered me dessert. I declined. Anderson brushed past me with a joke I didn’t quite catch. I nodded along, still smiling. But my chest was tight.
And then I slipped away.
Upstairs, I found a quiet balcony and stepped out into the night.
The air was cool, the stars clear and sharp above me. I wrapped my arms around myself and breathed.
I heard him before I saw him — the soft creak of the door, the familiar cadence of his footsteps. I leaned into the railing, hoping the dark might soften the vulnerability on my face.
He didn’t speak right away. Just stood beside me, close but not crowding.
“Hey,” he said finally, voice low.
“Hey,” I echoed, trying to smile. It didn’t quite reach my eyes. I turned my gaze back up to the stars.
“You okay?”
I hesitated. “Yeah. Just needed a minute.”
He didn’t push. Just let the quiet stretch, open and kind.
Eventually, I exhaled. “Rossi sure knows how to throw a party. And I’ve really loved meeting everyone tonight,” I said with a small smile. “I still need to corner Derek before we leave and get some more dirt on you.”
He chuckled at that, but then the rest of the words tumbled out of me before I could stop them.
“They all know a version of you I’ll never get to meet,” I said quietly. “And I don’t think anyone meant to make me feel out of place, but I still did. Like I was standing just outside the frame all night.”
Spencer’s expression softened, guilt flickering in his eyes. “I’m sorry. I should’ve seen it sooner.”
I shook my head. “You didn’t do anything wrong. No one did. I just…” My voice dipped. “I wish I could belong to this part of your life, too.”
“You do,” he said, without hesitation. “You already do.” He looked down for a moment, then back up at the sky. “Most of the people here tonight have seen the worst of me,” he said slowly. “Watched me fall apart more than once and helped put me back together. But you… you met me in a totally different kind of wreckage. And you chose to stay anyway.”
He turned to face me more fully.
“I want them to know you — not just meet you, but know you. Because you’re the person who pulled me out of something I didn’t think I’d survive. I didn’t even know there was a future out there left for me to want until you reminded me what it felt like to hope.”
My breath caught.
He reached for my hand, his voice low. “I know this part of my world feels like a closed room sometimes. But it’s not. You’re already inside it — just by being here. I’ll keep making space, because I want you in all of it — the past, the present, whatever’s next. And if it ever feels like you’re outside the door, I’ll open it. Every single time.”
The words settled in my chest like warmth after a long cold, and I leaned into him. We stood in comfortable silence, looking up at the stars.
“You ever think about how much of the universe is invisible?” I asked softly after a minute.
“Only all the time,” he chuckled. “Dark matter holds galaxies together. You don’t always see it, but it’s there. Holding the shape. The structure.”
He paused for a moment before his gaze shifted from the sky down to me, eyes full of something I could barely hold. “You’re that for me. You hold me together. You’re part of this, even when it doesn’t feel like it. You’ve changed my center of gravity. And they’ll see that, too.”
He threaded his fingers through mine, and I felt my breath steady at last.
—
Two weeks later, I walked into Spencer’s apartment and took stock of what had changed.
One of Rossi’s books sat on my side of the bed, the page I’d left off on marked with a receipt from our favorite diner — the one with the pie. A framed photo of me and Spencer, mid-laugh on Rossi’s lawn at the party, had taken up residence on his bookshelf, perched next to a faded copy of Cosmos by Carl Sagan. My favorite mug now lived in his cabinet, nestled between his like it had always belonged there.
And on the couch, quietly waiting, was a soft leather-bound journal.
Spencer picked it up and handed it to me once I sat down. “I’ve been, um, writing things down,” he said, voice low. “Things I want you to know. Memories. Anecdotes. Cases that still live somewhere in my head. I realized I never told you half of what made me, me, but I want to start.”
I opened it slowly, fingers tracing his familiar handwriting across the pages. Scribbled thoughts. Stories. Annotations in the margins. I felt the weight of it hit me all at once — not just the pages or the words, but what it meant. That he trusted me with this. That he wanted me to know him, fully and without omission.
I glanced up at him, eyes warm. “You really want me to know it all?”
“All of it.” He leaned in gently, thumb brushing my cheek. “If it ever felt like I was closing doors, this is me opening them. You’re not on the outside.”
I swallowed the lump in my throat and leaned in to kiss him softly. “Thank you,” I whispered against his lips.
We curled up together, my head resting gently on his shoulder, the journal open on my lap. Through the window, stars shimmered in the quiet, scattered like secrets we hadn’t told yet. The room felt hushed in that way only night can manage — like the whole world had paused just long enough to let us breathe.
—
After an hour or so of flipping through the journal, Spencer shifted beside me, almost imperceptibly — just enough that I could feel the nerves radiating off of him.
“Turn to the last page,” he said softly, his voice low and careful.
I glanced up at him. His expression was unreadable — serious, but not heavy. Just… open. So I turned the page with one hand, the other laced with his.
There, in his messy, scribbled handwriting, were seven words:
Move in with me. Please say yes.
My breath caught in my throat.
He didn’t speak, just waited, his hand still warm beneath mine. I stared at the words and felt the weight of them settle in my chest.
We weren’t kids. This wasn’t a fantasy, or a giddy impulse, or something he hadn’t thought through. We were two people who had seen some of the worst in life and in each other. We knew what hurt looked like, and we knew what it meant to carry grief and still try to build something anyway.
My mind immediately spun into motion — not just the logistics, but the stakes. What if we made a home together and something still cracked open? What if the walls closed in and started to suffocate us? What if the things he loved about me eventually hardened into something he didn’t recognize?
What if we messed it all up?
I looked at him.
“I know it’s a big step,” he said quietly, as if he could hear every thought I hadn’t spoken. “And I don’t want us to rush anything. But I want a life with you. This — us — is the only thing that’s ever made complete sense to me, even when everything else didn’t. And I’d rather do all the hard parts with you than the easy ones without you.” He studied me a moment. “Plus, I mean, we already spend almost every night together. Your lease is up in a couple months. Half of your clothes live in my drawers. It’s practical, really,” he rambled in typical Spencer fashion. Then he paused, took a breath, and said, “But… that’s not why I’m suggesting it. I’d want this even if it made no practical sense at all.”
I took a breath, and then another, trying to quiet the pulse in my ears. Then I brushed my fingertips against the page, tracing the words he’d written for me with so much hope for the future. I let myself feel that same hope, too.
“Okay,” I whispered. “Yes. Let’s do it.”
His breath stuttered like he hadn’t let himself dream of that answer. And then he smiled, wide and a little dazed.
I leaned in and kissed him, gentle and sure.
It wasn’t a fairytale, and I didn’t need it to be. It was real. Big and messy and soft.
“You know you’re going to have to clear out some shelf space, right? I have at least three milk crates-worth of books, and I refuse to make sacrifices,” I teased.
He laughed, eyes crinkling. “I’ll make room. I’ll even ask Luke for help putting up more shelves if we need them.”
I grinned. “We’re going to have, like, furniture store arguments, aren’t we?”
“Probably,” he said. “But in a deeply intellectual way. Like over the ethics of couches.”
I giggled. “And we’ll decorate for every holiday and accidentally buy the same coffee beans twice and probably fight over whose turn it is to clean the shower.”
“And I’ll lose, every time,” he said, entirely unbothered. “But you’ll still let me sleep in your arms.”
“Yeah,” I replied simply, because I suddenly didn’t know how to say all the things I felt — about home, and us, and what it meant to be chosen like this.
He leaned over and pressed his forehead to mine. “I want all of it,” he murmured. “The books and the arguments and the coffee and the shower. A full life. With you.”
—
Later, as we lay in bed, the journal still open between us and the stars humming quietly beyond the window, I turned toward him, heart full and aching in the best way.
“Spencer,” I whispered, not really sure what I intended to say next. I think I just needed the shape of his name in my mouth.
He looked over at me — soft, steady — and reached out to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. “Come here,” he murmured, voice low.
I did.
The journal slid to the floor with a quiet thud as I moved to straddle his lap, his hands finding my waist as mine curled against the back of his neck. There was no rush, no urgency — just the slow, reverent unfolding of clothes coming off, of skin against skin. Kisses that felt like punctuation. Touches like promises.
And as we moved together — quiet and close and sure — I felt it again: that invisible tether between us. The way he anchored me without even trying. A kind of gravity you don’t always see, but feel all the same.
Like dark matter. Invisible but everywhere, holding us quietly in place.

Maisie's guide to disguised AI
If you've been anywhere near AO3 recently, you've probably encountered AI writing at some point. As somebody who writes for, primarily, the ER fandom (and occasionally the Pitt, too), I've noticed a concerning trend over the last few days: AI-generated fanfiction clogging the tags.
Firstly, I'd like to say that if you ARE posting fics on AO3 that were AI-generated, and you're passing them off as your own, please stop. I know this is not likely to actually resonate with you if this IS you, but on the off-chance that you do see this- please use tags as intended and make it clear that you're using AI.
Secondly, before I go into some AI tells in detail, I want to preface this with a warning- just because you see one or two of these in a fic, there's no guarantee that it was AI-generated. Please approach the matter of flagging fics with care, because the last thing I want is to incite a witch hunt against innocent people just engaging in fandom.
However, when seen in tandem, these signs should act as a warning to think a little more deeply about what you're reading, and ask the question- was this human written?
1. Em-dashes
I'm getting this one out of the way quickly because it's something easily identifiable, but it should by no means discredit a fic on its own. Real people can use em-dashes, but ChatGPT uses them a LOT. Like, a distracting amount. And they're often used in conjunction with...
2. 'Not' qualifiers
ChatGPT doesn't do 'yes, and'. It seems to work off 'no, but' instead (sorry @pagingdoctorcarter , like an AI, I am stealing your phrase here. But I do have the decency to credit, I suppose!).
Take this sentence I've come up with right now:
Carter was so exhausted he was struggling to stand, legs trembling with the strain of keeping him upright.
AI might write something like this (using my own creative license here because I don't want to feed the beast):
Carter was exhausted— not the regular exhaustion that came with twelve hours on his feet. Something deeper. Heavier.
3. Repetitive phrases.
AI is not original, so it can't come up with anything original, of course. This means that it relies on basic phrases it uses over and over and over again e.g 'the kind of (blank) that (blank)'
4. The classic 'concrete noun' + 'abstract noun' combo
For reasons that I can't quite understand, AI adores this. Some humans include this combo in their work, too, but AI does it even more frequently. Some real phrases I've encountered so far include:
"a story about meatballs and betrayal"
"champagne and anxiety soaked into the upholstery"
5. Anachronisms and inaccuracies
This is especially present in a fandom like ER, where most of the time we're writing about the 90s, and this CAN be attributed to genuine human error... but if Carter is repeatedly 'swiping' on his phone screen to open a call, and everyone's always texting... could be AI.
In a similar vein, if someone is shouting 'code blue!' for things that AREN'T cardiac arrest, or mixing up names and even hallucinating random characters- think 'maybe AI'.
6. Short sentences, short paragraphs, short chapters.
AI doesn't have the ability to understand how paragraphs are structured for ease of reading and flow. So it likes short sentences. Snappy sentences.
And not just when the situation suits it. But always.
If there's a hell of a lot of paragraphs, it could be AI. AI doesn't like including many clauses. At all.
7. Generic similes and phrases that don't mean anything at all
This relates to the 'concrete noun + abstract noun combo' but, more generally, AI produces writing that veers away from specifics. It won't often describe places in too much detail, and when it comes to similes, it uses simple, overused ones OR spouts a series of words that are meaningless. If you see an abstract simile in a fic, take a second. Is it abstract because it's complex and has several layers, or is it utterly meaningless?
8. A crazy update schedule
This one is less reliable because it IS possible to bank chapters and then post a lot in one go, but if an author is posting many thousands of words in the span of a few days, consider this a small red flag- especially in conjunction with the other things mentioned. It could mean they're just pumping out AI-generated writing, and this allows them to move far quicker than any human.
9. Overly mushy dialogue
AI is a thief, but it's a happy-go-lucky thief. Characters speak like they stepped straight off Sesame Street at times, lacking any kind of emotional complexity.
10. Awful, awful jokes
AI cannot write jokes. It simply cannot. If you read a joke in a fic that feels Disney-Channel esque but also doesn't make sense at all? It very well could be AI.
For instance:
Nobody talks like this.
Also, note the 'concrete noun + abstract noun' combo again here! (This actually was an AI fic as confirmed by author before deletion, not naming them here): 'gauze and intuition'.
Conclusion
Be vigilant. Don't fall for AI crap and, if you disagree with the concept of AI work clogging AO3 tags, definitely don't leave kudos.
And if you're posting this stuff, yet again I ask you politely, please STOP.
Thank you.

uvb76fan is posting in this tag talking about all the ways trans men have it “worse”, while misrepresenting the statistic she is citing. most likely banking on no one looking closer or reading the links.
this person is a terf. if you search trans on her blog it is immediately clear, i am not using terf loosely she is literally actually a terf.
we cannot let our weariness at not being heard by some of our community push us into the sick and malformed arms of transmisogyny and radical feminism, these people do not care about us at all, they are trying to harm every single one of us. our solidarity with trans women, men and people as whole should cause us to slam hard on the breaks. no matter how many trans women you see being antitransmasculine it does not mean that there are not so many more who are our genuine allies, do not let the algorithm pushing hateful person after hateful person your way skew your understandings. the transphobes want dissent, they want us to tear each other apart. we do not need to contribute to the harm to have ours lessened. (causing harm to a vulnerable minority is never morally correct no matter what got you there in the first place. also straight up trans women are easy to love and are inherently deeply deserving of community solidarity, and fascism (which terfs are) should not have any appeal whatsoever no matter how hurt you are but i digress.)
on another note: we cannot and must not reactively take on the mentalities of trans rad fems, no gender in the trans community needs to be the most oppressed to be taken seriously and given respect in our community, the equality in our suffering is immense and must be acknowledged without each group needing to prove we are the most victimized to get the care and community support we need. this is harmful no matter who is doing it. we absolutely must nip this kind of thinking in the bud.
push back on terfs in this tag everywhere you can, and if there is a reason you cannot comment or reblog to shut them down, block them on sight.

The Good, The Bad, and The Dirty
If you wanna start a fight,
You better throw the first punch - make it a good one.
And if you wanna make it through the night,
You better say my name like:
The Good, The Bad, and The Dirty.
Sub!Isaac Lahey x Dom!Fem!Reader
Summary:
What you and Isaac had going on wasn't exactly public - and whatever it was didn't have a title. Sexual, friendship, two souls entwined and bound to each other in an utterly complicated way.
Whatever. It didn't have a label. The two of you didn't need one.
But Isaac definitely didn't expect to see you showing up to a lacrosse game wearing Scott's number with the name McCall boldly across your chest. All he knew from the moment he saw that stupid shirt on your chest was that the night was going to end with it shredded to pieces.
(He had no clue that was precisely your plan from the start, because you knew how to guide him exactly where you wanted him - every. Single. Time.)
Sub!Isaac Lahey x Dom!Fem!Reader. Best Friends with Benefits (Secret Relationship) to Lovers. Smut/PWP. Set during Season 3.
Word Count: 7,200

Full list of warnings and author's notes below.
Warnings: this is primarily a smut fic - there is some slight plot; this does take place in a high school setting, but just for the sake of clarity/for the sake of argument, the characters are eighteen or older; the reader uses she/her pronouns and has a vagina and breasts (but as with all my fics, the primary pronouns used are you/yours); mention of the reader wearing a skirt;there is some descriptions of the reader being curvy/plus sized (as with many of my fics - and I always just picture Isaac with a plus sized girl) (absolutely no bias there), and there is mentions of Isaac being taller than the reader, but that is based on the assumption that at 6.1, he would be taller than most people; there is also mentions of Isaac lifting the reader due to his supernatural strength, but her back is also supported by a wall so it’s not wholly unrealistic; mentions of background Scott x reader (mostly the reader using Scott to make Isaac jealous and Scott having feelings for the reader that she does not return), and this would have been when Scott and Allison were broken up because I would not do my girl wrong like that (you can even interpret this as Scott using the reader to help ‘get over’ Allison if you want); some non-detailed mentions of the abuse Isaac received from his father (which is pretty difficult not to mention in an Isaac fic); there is some dom/sub themes - Isaac is submissive and the reader is more dominant; Isaac is jealous and possessive - very slight angst because it discusses Isaac’s jealousy coming from a place of being hurt; this is not the first time that Isaac and the reader have had sex with each other; Isaac and the reader have been best friends since before his father’s death (and his werewolfism) and they recently started having sex, and they have a murky situationship; the reader clearly knows that Isaac is a werewolf; mention of Isaac ‘pinning the reader down’ and fucking her (in a memory) (and she loved it); Isaac calls the reader a ‘slut’ and a ‘whore’ - not in a kinky way, but over the fact that he is deeply offended that she was flirting with Scott and pretending to like him; in turn, the reader calls Isaac a slut in a kinky way; the reader also calls Isaac ‘puppy’ and ‘good boy’; hair pulling - Isaac receiving; something like subspace is described (regarding what Isaac is feeling) but the word ‘subspace’ is never used during the fic; the characters do not discuss having a safe word in place, but they trust each other due to their history and know how to nonverbally balance each other’s needs; Isaac using his claws to shred a shirt that the reader wears with Scott’s numbers on it, and in the process he accidentally scratches her chest slightly (but she likes she slight pain); very slight blood kink - Isaac licks up the blood from these small cuts; I feel like there should be a warning for the endless amounts of dog imagery because I cannot stop comparing Isaac to a kicked dog because it works to well; lacrosse pads being used for slut activities; oral sex - reader receiving; Isaac has an extreme scent kink (he loves the way the reader smells); praise kink - Isaac loves being praised by the reader; penis in vagina sex; unprotected sex; (surprisingly, there’s no breeding kink in this); I think that’s actually it for this - one stray joke about the reader getting Isaac a dog dollar.
A/N: I had so much fun writing this. As soon as the request hit my inbox, I knew I was going to write it at some point. Part of me kind of feels bad that I didn't write the expected jealousy = dominance - you may notice when you read the fic, I started out writing Isaac as dominant, but I cannot help writing him as submissive, and it turned into this interesting painting of 'his dominance is a performed act, and submissiveness is his true self' and 'his jealousy is possessiveness, not dominance' and possessiveness is a very submissive trait. (I could go more into depth about this in another post, and I probably will.) People often associate possessiveness with Doms, but I see Isaac as the most possessive Sub ever because he's a wolf. Anyway - I am really happy with how this turned out, and even if it's not what the original requester intended, I think the point of a request is that the author gets to interpret it and write it in their own style. And this is definitely how I would write it most true to my style. Also this has references to Season 3 - like Lydia dating Aiden and Isaac fighting the Alpha pack, but this is set after a lacrosse game, and in S3, they were in the off season of lacrosse. and I can guarantee you my autistic ass is the only one who cares about that and you didn't even notice until I pointed it out. So please - carry on.
...
The lacrosse field of Beacon Hills High School was absolutely buzzing.
The night air was filled with cheers as the team and many fans were celebrating another win, while the opposing team sulked in disappointment as they packed onto their bus with their heads hung low, their coach screaming at them for the loss. Chatter and celebration filled the air - but you didn’t get a single moment to be a part of it as Isaac Lahey pulled you far away to somewhere secluded. Somewhere only he could get to have you.
He currently had you pinned up against one of the lockers in the girls’ locker room. It was a place that nobody would think to look for the two of you - a place that wouldn’t be entered for the rest of the night, unlike the boys’, which would soon be filled with sweaty assholes shedding their kits and getting a shower before they went off to some party to celebrate their victory. Isaac had locked the door to make sure that the two of you would be left alone, and left the lights off so that nobody would be suspicious of any light coming from the crack beneath the door.
But right now, none of those details mattered.
All that mattered was that stupid number in the middle of your chest. That stupid block lettering sitting across your perfect round breasts.
11. McCall.
You could claim that you had worn it as a joke. But as Isaac locked his jaw stiffly, staring you down - you didn’t think that you would be getting away with that claim.
“Take it off.” Isaac growled at you, his eyes flashing that glowing golden yellow, a visual that made your breath tight in your chest and made your cunt quiver.
You remembered the first time you had seen that glow coming from his eyes - the first night he had found you after he received The Bite, when he was still high on adrenaline and warned by Derek not to do anything ‘stupid’. And the stupid thing he had done was climb up the side of your house, claw in through your bedroom window with the clumsy hands he barely knew how to use, and pin you down to your bed and fuck you senseless, feeling like an overeager dog with intensely swollen balls, feeling like he was too strong and going through puberty all over again.
It had been one of the best nights of your life.
“What?” You said, your voice even, calm, not even close to mocking dubious. “Take what off?”
You were faking confusion - faking it poorly, easily signaling to him that you knew exactly what he was talking about.
It was a dare. You were egging him on purposefully. The two of you always had the best sex when you did. That’s what the whole night was about, after all.
Lydia had gotten the shirts made - she had gotten one for herself with Aiden’s name and lacrosse number on it, and she had told you that it was cheaper to ‘order multiple at a time’, and then she had pulled out one in your size. Your gut had shriveled up when you saw that it was one with Scott’s name and lacrosse number on it.
A plain white tee shirt in a feminine, tight fit with burgundy vinyl lettering to match the school’s colours. Lydia had ordered them in white because she said it would be easier to make into an outfit, and she didn’t want to ‘wear that god awful colour’ with her nice coats.
You had gone on one single date with Scott. He asked you out, you said yes. It had been a pleasant, average evening that ended with a bit of kissing. It was nice - Scott was a great guy. But it definitely hadn’t been anything special. It had only driven home in your mind that you definitely didn’t have those feelings for Scott. And you felt guilty for every single time you had flirted with him in Isaac’s presence just to make Isaac jealous, if it meant that you had been misleading him or leading him on.
A while ago, Lydia had been talking about guys, and she said something about ‘you and Scott’ and not even fully paying attention, you agreed with her. And then she cheered, and you realized that she had been talking about romantic couplings among your friend group. She thought that your flirting with Scott and the one single date meant that the two of you were dating - so she took this as a greenlight to order you the shirt. She was excited that the two of you would look ‘coordinated’ cheering for your ‘boyfriends’ in the stands.
But more than anything, you felt awkward correcting her because you couldn’t exactly tell her about the thing that you and Isaac had going on.
Mostly because you had no clue what to call it.
The two of you had been best friends for years, and you had been his rock and his confidant before anybody else knew what was going on with his father. And then, shortly after he had made the grand transformation from abused introvert to powerful (hot) werewolf, the two of you had started… this.
Some might call it ‘friends with benefits’, some might call it a weird spiritual sexual codependency that had truly begun with you patching up his wounds from the beatings his father had given him. Either way, the slight flirting of your normal friendship ramped up tenfold, and now, every single time the two of you were behind closed doors together, the intense sexual tension in the air built until you were both partially unclothed and moaning.
And in the outside world, the two of you were constantly at war. You were constantly in the throes of a game that nobody else knew was going on. You both refused to name each other as a romantic partner, but you were constantly in some kind of effort to get the other’s attention or make the other person jealous. He flirted with Allison and Erica, and… that stupid game was the only reason you had gone on a date with Scott. It had been a relatively nice date, but you hadn’t felt a single sense of the spark with Scott that you did with Isaac.
And it was the only reason that you were wearing the stupid shirt that Lydia had given to you. It was the only reason you had sat in the stands beside Lydia with your jacket unzipped and even taken off all night in the cold, showing off that shirt, loudly cheering for Scott, putting on a show.
All of it was to make Isaac jealous - to get some kind of a rise out of him.
And it had worked so damn well. Seeing his clenched jaw, his flared nostrils… seeing the way his sharp fangs extended out over his lips as if he couldn’t control them while he looked at you with hellish lust in his eyes… you were almost terrified by how well you had succeeded. Almost.
“Take. It. Off.” He growled, grinding on each word, his chest now heaving with the effort.
“Make me.” You mumbled in reply, entirely confident, hoping that further teasing would only wind him up more. Hoping that it would only beautifully play into your game.
He stepped closer to you and when you instinctively took a step back, your body hit the cold metal of the lockers, and you swallowed harshly as your body pumped with more lust. It was oddly thrilling to be so trapped - only because it was Isaac. And because you knew there was only one way this could end.
Because your body was preparing for the sensations you knew came next - the ghost of his touch already lingering on you, your mind replaying those past events like grooves in a record. It caused you to become wetter and wetter just thinking about the feeling of his teeth digging into your neck, the feeling of his hands possessively gripping your hips, the feeling of his cock splitting you open.
His breath ghosted over your forehead, his height towering over you somehow not intimidating at all as he pressed his hard body (disappointingly still clad in lacrosse pads, keeping you from feeling the true ridges of his muscles) up against you, truly ensuring that you could not escape. Not that you would want to escape from him.
He took a thick sniff into the air, his nostrils flaring widely, and you knew he could smell it on you - the lust, the pure attraction you felt toward him, the adrenaline. Or maybe it was just the pure smell of your pussy pathetically leaking into your underwear that he was picking up on. Either way, he let out a whine, the first small indicator of his facade cracking, and you felt his hips jolt toward you, instinctively seeking friction.
“Why the fuck are you doing this to me?”
Isaac growled, still trying to sound tough, the words bordering on a pained howl. There was a unique agony in his voice as he stared down the length of your body and continued to fixate on those numbers on your chest, true haunting dancing in his pretty baby blues.
Your gut twisted horribly as you realized it. This wasn’t just something he could brush off in the name of sex. You had really hurt him this time. Perhaps you had gone too far this time. Something that had started out as a well-meaning game of cat and mouse had turned into truly taunting a wolf - and unintentionally, you had wounded that wolf.
That wolf that, even if it was never spoken, was supposed to be yours. Was supposed to be treasured as yours.
You had gotten so caught up in playing the stupid game that you had made a terrible mistake.
But you needed to see it through now.
You reached up and grabbed both sides of his face, forcing him to look you in the eyes.
“Make me.” You repeated the words, and Isaac let out another huff. “Make me take it off, Isaac.” He replied to this with a growl from deep in his chest, a sound that vibrated through your hands on his delicate, angelic face. “Make me yours.”
He reached up with one hand in the middle of your chest and gently pushed you back, making sure your body was stiff and firm against the metal of the lockers, propping you there like hanging art on a wall. And then he took a small step to distance himself, his eyes flickering up and down your body sharply, drinking you in even though he had seen you thousands of times before.
It had been torture - pure torture all night. From the moment he had seen you unzip your jacket, revealing that fucking shirt with Scott’s name on it (and the fact that you had paired it with a tiny little skirt and a pair of sheer tights… knowing that those tights emphasized your thick thighs, his favourite part of your body… just to torture him…) - he had been tempted to ditch off the field completely and run up into the stands just to tear it off you. Just to prove a fucking point.
But that hadn’t even been the worst part of it. No. One of the words parts had been the fact that he was forced to stay on the field all night listening. Over-hearing you chatting it up with Lydia and Allison about your ‘date’ with Scott, talking about kissing him, theorizing about what having sex with him might be like. You had known he was listening the whole time. You knew his hearing was enhanced enough, and you knew that he had a special knack for picking up on your voice in a crowd. You had been doing it on purpose.
And every time he glanced over between goals and saw Scott’s name stretched across your perfect tits… it killed him a little more inside.
While thinking about all this, while thinking about the fact that he had been waiting to do this all night -
Isaac raised up his hand, very intentionally flaring his claws, bold enough for you to see what his next move would be so that you could anticipate it and wouldn’t be afraid. And his cock began to throb almost painfully between his legs when he saw you push your chest out, arching your back against the lockers as you licked your lips, silently begging for it.
Clearly, you didn’t wear Scott’s name proudly. You were aching him to tear the shirt off you, downright lustful at the thought - biting your lip, batting your eyelashes at him, the scent of your lust even more potent in the air down.
Such a beautiful fucking tease.
With delicate precision, he slashed his claws across your chest, shredding the fabric to pieces and feeling a cathartic vindication as the name and number of another guy fell apart and began to fall off you.
A twinge of guilt nearly ruined the moment as he saw the slightest bit of blood glinting across your perfect skin, gathering in your cleavage along your gorgeous stretch marks, but you didn’t seem to care, and you didn’t seem to be in the slightest bit of pain. In fact, you let out a purely lustful moan and arched your back even more, pushing your chest toward him more - making you look like a perfect porno in your shredded clothing with your red lace bra now revealed underneath.
Though in a moment, you reached up, pulling the scraps of the fabric away and shucking off the useless remains of the shirt, throwing it to the ground like the garbage that it now was. In the back of your mind, you guessed that now you would have to put on your jacket - which you had been carrying in your hand and tossed off to the side earlier, and zip it up completely to cover yourself in order to leave. But that didn’t matter now. You didn’t care if you would have to leave here in just your bra if you meant you got to have what would likely come next.
Isaac indulged in the sound of your pretty panting, the way you licked your lips, and the perfect, accelerated thumping of your heartbeat in his ears.
“Better.” He sighed in relief, much preferring the sight of your chest heaving, nearly bare in front of him than the visual of Scott’s fucking name plastered across you like he owned you. He never did, he never would -
You let out another hot moan in response, and Isaac found himself licking his lips.
While he stood there, frozen with his lust, too busy visually admiring you, you were driven forward by your maddening need. You grabbed the front of his jersey and yanked him forward into a heated kiss. It was a mouth that you knew well from experience by now, and it was only a second before the two of you were exchanging moans and a clash of tongues.
He craned down, his hands possessively grappled for your thighs, those claws making quick work of your tights, putting runs and even huge holes in the sheer material, quickly exposing your skin to the cool air of the room. It was something you would have been angrier about if not for the very pretty boy currently sucking on your face.
One of his hands moved to claw at the seam of your tights, but you quickly clamped your legs shut, trapping his wrist from moving any further, much to his whiny disappointment. You used your hold on the front of his jersey to push him away, and you were met with the most sweetly crestfallen expression - wide, glossy, sad eyes staring you down while he curled his lip, clearly wondering what he had done wrong. Wondering what he had done to be denied.
“Not so fast.” You scolded him gently. “You have to ‘take it off’ too.” You told him, running your fingers down the front of his chest, more than offended by all the padding he was wearing in addition to the clothing. Far too much coverage.
“I’m not the one who was acting like a whore.” Isaac huffed, clearly still wounded from the fact that you had worn Scott’s numbers. The word sounded strangely good on his lips, but still, you rolled your eyes. From him, it wasn’t dominance or power. It was slowly turning into bratty defiance in your little game. “I wasn’t out there shaking my ass in front of the crowd while wearing some other guy’s fucking number, acting like a dumb slut-”
“Oh, please.” You let out a dark laugh, and Isaac swallowed thickly, knowing that you had truly arrived. After all the winding up - the main event had finally started. “You act like a dumb slut all the time.”
Isaac let out a sharp breath at your words, loving how easily you tossed the words back at him. Something inside of him was absolutely purring at the harsh title that was now freshly branded into his skin. This was the moment that his brain began to melt between his ears, and any sense of the ‘tough guy’ act that he put on for the rest of the world was completely gone.
From this point on, he was dissolving into the sweet puppy that only you were allowed to know.
“Like now, for example.” You continued on, more venom lacing through your lips. You put on your most threatening voice, hating to get firm with him, but knowing it was necessary. “So you can strip down, and fucking behave yourself, or I can get dressed and go find Scott and see what fucking him would be like instead.”
Isaac glared at you, and you saw that horrible quiver come across his lip again. Before you could worry that you had gone too far, he reached up and began pulling off his gear, and you heard a few muffled complaints as his pads hit the floor.
“You don’t have to be so mean,” He told you, nothing more than a petulant whine at this point.
He was ready to be compliant with you - ready to do whatever you said because he needed it just as much as you did.
When he was shirtless, you didn’t wait for him to ditch his bottoms before you leaped into action once again. You reached out and tucked your fingers into the waistband of his shorts, hauling him toward you - and much like a loyal dog tight on a leash, he let himself be so easily pulled, even though he was much stronger than you and he could have overpowered you if he wanted to.
But that was the glory of it. He was a statue of might, standing over six feet tall, shredded with muscles that were enhanced with supernatural strength, and yet - he wouldn’t hurt a fly without your permission. He wouldn’t take a step in any direction if it wasn’t to stand in your shadow.
He didn’t worship anywhere if it wasn’t at your altar.
He had sought out guidance anywhere and everywhere since his father had died - Derek, Scott, Deaton, even Erica. But he had only found sanity and solace at the palace of your lips.
Which was why he moaned into your mouth as you kissed him again, quickly shoving your tongue past his teeth to remind him of why he was here. He belonged to you, and he shouldn’t do anything without your sacred permission.
You got a firm grip on his hair and caused a sting across his scalp with how possessively you were holding onto him, causing pleasant tingles through his whole body as he was reminded of that lovely feeling of being held by you, being owned by you. You used the hold to force him tighter into your mouth, angling his head just the way you needed to kiss him firmer, deeper, controlling every single aspect of it - causing a sweet whimper out of him as he was guided like a puppet on a string.
He had been the one to drag you here with a demanding, tight grip on your wrist - he had been the one to practically throw you up against the lockers in anger. He thought this whole thing had been his idea.
But this had never been his game.
Any tough moves he made out on the lacrosse field, any intimidation he managed with people like Stiles or the Alphas he had battled during the summer - it was all a farce. You were the only person that knew deep down, he was a puppy, just looking for guidance. At the end of the day, after everything he had been through in life - he was just looking for somewhere soft to lay his pretty head.
Isaac let out a whine as you pulled away from the kiss to take a breath. He instantly wanted to protest, instantly began chasing your mouth. He didn’t care if he drowned in your mouth, if he died due to lack of oxygen.
But of course, he didn’t settle for a lack of contact.
While you combed your fingers through his hair and used the other hand to start untying the knot of his shorts, he immediately dipped his head down, seeking more of your precious skin. His neck almost became pained from the awkward angle, having to lean so far down due to his height - but he didn’t care. He dipped his head between your breasts and immediately began laving his tongue over the small cuts he had unintentionally left there. From him, it was a wordless apology, hanging his head in shame at the fact that he could ever hurt you, no matter how small, no matter how meaningless the tiny scratches were to you.
In your mind, it didn’t matter. Owning a pet meant that sometimes you came off with a few tiny wounds. You would end up loving the scars. You let out small hiss at the sting of saliva, and then began moaning, and he was quickly driven mad by the twang of your blood on his tongue.
“Isaac-” You moaned out hotly.
He believed that he was a beast being fed by you, bound to devour you disastrously sooner or later - but you knew not to be afraid. He could do you no real harm. You could never truly be afraid of someone with such delicate sadness in his eyes.
Especially not when he humped your hip like a lost puppy and whined against your skin like he had been kicked in the gut. His cock throbbed painfully inside his athletic cup, far too fucking restricted, crying out for your touch. He was grateful when you pushed down his shorts and his thin athletic pants underneath, and then took care to strip off his underwear and cup without hurting his sensitive, now very hard cock.
“Aww, puppy.” You cooed - it was a playful pet name that you had used with him many times before, but for some reason, it practically punched him in the gut, easily forcing the air out of his lungs when he heard it.
His responsive moan crescendoed into a harsh growl between his teeth when you reached out and grabbed his cock with a cool hand - it was an immediate contrast, his skin boiling hot with blood thumping so hard underneath, making his cock so rigid that it practically vibrated under your touch. The tip of his dick leaked furiously into your hand as you began casually pumping him, no distinct rhythm or precision in your movements, purposefully teasing him.
“You need this, don’t you?” You purred, voice purposefully honey-sweet as you lapped up his reactions. “You need me.”
“I need you.” Isaac panted in return without hesitation. “I need you, please.”
You ran your thumb over the leaking slit of his cock, indulging in just how wet he was, loving how it showed his desperation, plain and clear. You also couldn’t help but to love the beautiful little whimper he let out from the back of his throat, the way his breath puffed across the exposed skin of your breasts, cooling the salvia he had left there. Your skin becoming more exposed as he reached a hand up and yanked down your bra, putting strain on the straps where they sat on your shoulders.
“You gonna earn it?” You posed, feeling the devil on your shoulder, unable to resist. Isaac only whined in response. “Get on your knees for me like a good dog.”
Isaac’s breath caught in his throat.
When he had first become a werewolf and you had found out about it, you had made a good many ‘dog’ jokes about him. And he used to hate them. But over time, he had come to love the comparison because he loved being your dog. (It’s why the nickname ‘puppy’ put a warm fondness in his gut rather than making him feel humiliated.)
He knew, at the end of the day, that it was true. He needed to be owned by you, he needed a damn leash. He was intensely loyal, despite himself. And no matter what, at the end of the day, he would always return to you, head down, looking for praise, looking to be fed - whether that was a feeding of the soul, or stupidly literal, who knows.
Any other time, the words would have been embarrassing - it would have been something he argued against. But this time - he practically let out a bark to demonstrate his pure loyalty to you, and he rushed to follow the simple order. Even though he hated your touch leaving his cock as he dropped to his knees on the cold tiled floor (thankful that he was still wearing his knee pads where his clothing was caught in a tangle just above them), he was more than eager to serve you. He used a careful, precise claw to reach up and shred a hole in the crotch of your tights, quick to destroy your underwear as well when he found them in his way.
“Good boy.” You easily praised him, and he found his brain once again delightfully fuzzy at the simple words.
Your fingers were in his hair again, but he didn’t even need your touch driving him forward. He was drawn to your exposed cunt like a madman, more than eager to shove his face into the folds of your perfect pussy. He used a hand to lift your perfect plump thigh and pull it up over his shoulder, inviting you to sit some of your weight on him so that he could be closer to you, ever closer, closer. He shoved his tongue deep into your hot, wet hole and shoved his nose between your folds, unintentionally bumping against your clit, just hungry to taste and smell as much of you as he possibly could.
“Isaac!” You moaned out, using your hold on his hair to try and keep him in place while you humped against his face, causing him to moan enthusiastically into your pussy. “Oh fuck, puppy! You’re so good.”
The combination of the praise and the nickname was absolutely dizzying, and along with your wetness on his tongue, your smell so potent and perfect surrounding him - he felt as though he didn’t deserve something this good. But he didn’t care. He quickly became obsessed with drowning himself in you - with one hand possessively gripping your thigh beside his head and the other gripping the edge of your skirt, moaning frantically into you while he fucked his tongue in and out of you, lapping up as much of your taste as he could.
“Oh fuck - such a sweet puppy, so good for me.”
There was no skill to it.
He was growing dumb between the ears, becoming more and more of the dog that you accused him of being - nothing but animal instincts and the loyal need to please you. He humped his hips into the air and his cock began leaking openly onto the floor, leaving a pathetic puddle of precum there that neither of you would notice, something that would have the janitor questioning later.
Currently, all Isaac cared about was the taste of your pussy on his tongue, the wonderful essence of you that reminded him he was home. All he cared about was being good for you while getting a reward that he barely deserved; all he cared about was the wonderful heat of your pulsing cunt under his lips with your vibrating little button bouncing on his nose, getting to smother himself in your perfect scent.
“Yes baby, so fucking good-”
All of his moaning and insistent tongue-fucking meant that you were drawing close to your orgasm very quickly.
Your thighs began to shake, your muscles jolting beside his head and he continued to lap it right up. He moaned even harder, angling his head to drive his tongue deeper into you as you became wetter, and he only basked as there was more for him to consume. You panted in harsh gasps as beautiful jolts of pleasure rang through your cunt while his tongue pierced you again, and again, and again, fucking you in the most perfectly thoughtless way.
Your fingers dug into his scalp and he didn’t even care that you used the touch to drive him further to smothering while you rubbed your pussy across his face, smearing your wetness all over his cheeks and his chin, coating him so perfectly in your smell. He could only enjoy it as you came all over him and tipped your head back against the lockers behind you, your moans echoing against the walls like a perfect concert while the boys in the locker room across the hall were none the wiser. (The chatter of their conversations and the sound of their showers completely muting out the sound of your moans from reaching their ears.)
“Fuck, Isaac! Oh, puppy! Such a good boy!”
Isaac moaned at your words and his cock was downright throbbing now.
But even though, in the back of his mind, his dick was cold in the air of the room and he wanted nothing more than to sink into your perfect pussy, he still felt a deep pang of disappointment when you used your grip on his hair to pull him away from your perfect, wet cunt. He let out a whine showing that disappointment, and fought to keep your leg on his shoulder as you moved to pull away. But still, he ultimately conceded to you when you patted his hand off your thigh and scolded him with a glare and a quiet warning of:
“Behave.”
“I wasn’t done.” He complained, his voice small.
But still, he settled for licking your taste off his lips, looking up at you through his lashes from down on his knees. You combed your finger through his hair again, unable to stop yourself from admiring him, even if he was being a bit of a selfish brat.
He was just so damn pretty.
Porcelain skin stretched over perfect muscles, big pretty blue eyes staring up at you, his cock out and still leaking, bright red now due to being neglected by you. You couldn’t have imagined a more perfect sight. You couldn’t help but to reach down and drag your thumb through some of the lingering wetness on his chin and feed it to him - and of course, he ate it right up, sucking the digit eagerly into his mouth and moaning around it.
“Oh? So you don’t want to fuck me then?” You posed, playing off his words with a teasing statement that easily drove him mad.
These words quickly sparked him to action.
He jumped up off his knees, rising to his tall height once again, somehow so unintimidating. Such a sweet little wolf.
With your back pinned up against the lockers for support, he grabbed your legs and pulled you up off the ground, his beyond human strength helping him to easily lift you so that you could wrap your legs around his waist - and just a moment later, as his cock perfectly lined up with your soaked entrance, you easily fell onto that perfect, stiff shaft.
He didn’t hesitate to fuck up into you. He knew you didn’t need soft and you definitely weren’t expecting it, and any sense of patience he might have had was long gone. There was no sweetness, no slowness - all that was left was his pure possessive need to be close to you and your guiding hand driving him on, encouraging him as you dug your nails into his shoulders, leaving marks that would never last with his werewolf healing.
“Good boy.” You told him, your breath slipping away for a moment as you were reminded of just how perfectly his cock could split you open. “Fuck, Isaac.”
He kept one hand tight on your hip and the other went above your head, hanging onto the top of the lockers, desperate to hold on to something as he felt your perfect, hot wetness gripping his cock. Following his instincts, he fucked forward, slamming his hips into you, needing to feel more, needing to be closer to your warmth - needing more of you.
“Need you.” He panted, his head falling to press his forehead close to yours, something that felt sweetly intimate for the situation, his eyes squinted tightly as he became overwhelmed by the sensations. “Fuck - need you, need you so much.”
“Come on, puppy.” You encouraged him. “Come on, take what you need.”
You tightened your legs around his waist, his movements nearly threatening to buck you off as he moved his hips so wildly - sheer need absolutely tight in every muscle as thick whines poured from his lips. You were eager to soothe him, your hands running up and down his sweaty back - some of it lingering from the hard work he had done during the game and some of new from how hard he was fucking you now, lighting up all the nerve endings inside your pussy, making you feel so perfect.
“Such a good boy.” You moaned, your breath brushing against his lips - his mouth open as he struggled for air and continued to whimper sweetly for you. “Such a sweet little puppy. Good fucking dog.”
Isaac let out a growl, fucking into you harder, his brain pure static at this point.
Yes - he was a good dog. He was your good dog.
He couldn’t help it when the pleasure surged through him, the pure energy, and his grip on the lockers above your head tightened so much that the metal started to crumble beneath his fist as if it was nothing more than a piece of paper. You heard the terrible shrieking groan of the metal, but you didn’t even bother to look up - you couldn’t have taken your eyes off Isaac in those moments. You were far too enraptured by your puppy in front of you, by the nearly pained look on his face, by the feeling of his perfect cock splitting you open as he faithfully fucked up into your pussy, not stopping for even a moment.
You brought a hand to his face, grasping his jaw between your thumb and forefinger, digging the touch in - just a twinge of pain to get his attention, a firm grip to remind him that he was yours.
“Look at me.” You demanded, your breath hot, your voice shaking slightly as the pleasure shook your body. “Come on, puppy - look at me.”
He forced his eyes open, eager to be good for you, eager to do as you said. He gulped air in as he continued to grip onto your hip, the locker crumbling even more into a mess as the tension in his muscles was wrought into it, forced there rather than ever be taken out on you - even unconsciously, he could never use too much force on you.
The silken blue that looked at you was a sight so beautiful that you couldn’t bear to look away, a mess of lust and ravenous madness, a prayer of devotion to you that was far too complex for words. You gave him a small, sweet kiss on the lips that he moaned so deeply at, his hips stuttering terribly as his balls downright ached -
“Cum for me.” You demanded, the words a firm smack against his mouth, a punch to his gut that made him cry out. “Cum for me, puppy, be a good boy, come on-”
He let out a strangled moan that dissolved into a downright filthy whimper from the back of his throat as his hips sped up, his skin practically blurring as he was now given precious permission from you. Your cunt became utterly sore with the speed and pressure his pelvis kept hitting you with, continually pounding into you with that impossible strength, the sound resonating harshly through the room, nearly threatening to break you.
But it was only a few breathless moments later that a moan punched through his gut and you heard something that resembled your name choked through his throat - and then he fucked into you one last time, his hips then becoming glued to yours, almost entirely still in contrast to moments before. He ground against you sharply, overstimulating your swollen clit with the stiffness of his pelvis as he seemingly tried to merge with you through persistent will alone as he pumped his cum inside of you in warm spurts.
“Good puppy,” You hummed, continuing to run your hands up and down his back and through his hair. You kissed down his cheek and his neck and along his shoulder, praising him, soothing him, worshipping him just like he deserved while his cock throbbed inside of you. “Good boy. So fucking good for me.”
He moaned in return, words lost to the stupidly thick tongue inside of his mouth - one that was only capable of licking up and down your neck while he humped his cock inside of you for a few more moments, enjoying your soothing words and the warmth of your pussy around him as his orgasm ebbed away.
Unfortunately, it couldn’t last forever like that.
You pulled him in for one last kiss - one that the two of you savoured with a moan and a dip of tongues into each other’s mouths as he pulled his cock out of you.
(Distantly, you had a thought about how you would have to walk out of here with no underwear - because you definitely weren’t going to keep on the scraps that he had left you, gaping with remnants of his cum inside of you. And you did feel a strange sense of satisfaction in that. Especially knowing that he would be able to smell that cum on you for hours with his werewolf nose, even if you went home and changed your clothes before Lydia’s mandatory ‘Lacrosse Team Win’ celebration party - and that was enough of a reason not to take a shower and scrub the scent off.)
He let you down and you were unsteady on your legs, much like a baby deer, still having to lean on the lockers for support while he moved to grab some toilet paper from one of the stalls to help clean you both up.
A heavy silence fell over the two of you, unlike any other time that you had sex with Isaac.
While you righted your clothes (prying what was left of your underwear out from underneath your tights and throwing them away, along with the scraps of the shirt that had started this all, fixing your skirt, and putting your jacket on over your bra for some coverage) - and Isaac got dressed, you wondered what would happen next. Your eyes landed on the huge dent that was now in the top of the row of lockers, and you genuinely weren’t sure if you should ask him to try and fix it, or if it would just be better to leave it like that and let people wonder.
“Please…”
Isaac mumbled out, his voice so quiet, raspy around the edges due to the moaning he had just done. When you whipped your head toward him, he worked up the courage to finish the sentence.
“Please… don’t talk about Scott anymore.”
You stared at him, puzzled, as he put on his jersey (his pads still left on the floor, seeing as he didn’t need them anymore). Clearly, his mind had been on a completely different track. He was staring you down with those sad, glassy eyes once again, and you felt a terrible twinge of guilt tighten in your gut.
You knew that he was the jealous type. That was why you had done all this. But you couldn’t go on being his secret fling, his secret fuck. His perfect confidant with no public title.
So you prodded that wound one last time.
“Why not?” You asked, risking it all.
You would either leave this losing your best friend, the best sex of your life, and the person you loved most in the whole world - or you would leave this as a whole, better person.
Isaac swallowed, and bowed his head, unable to look you in the eyes. Somehow, at six-foot-one, he looked so terribly small. He might not be able to do this. He might be too broken to live up to it. But you hoped, you prayed that he would -
“Because I-” He shuddered, verging on tears. And somehow, he was able to get the words out. “Because I’m in love with you.”
Everything inside of you lit up. More perfect than any orgasm, better than the feeling of his cock inside of you - this was what you had been missing the whole time.
“And look, I understand that you might have just been playing around,” He continued, his words having a terrible meaning - acknowledging your game in wearing Scott’s numbers, and voicing his insecurities in your relationship, believing that you had been unserious with him because you had never loved him at all. “But it kills me to see you with other guys. I can’t-”
You stepped forward, using a hand on the side of his jaw to pull him into another kiss. In a moment, he understood the passion, the warmth - something that went far beyond sexual needs. The way you guided him because you knew exactly what he needed. The unspoken connection the two of you always had that now needed those words.
“Isaac, you should know I love you too.” You told him. “That I’ve been in love with you - since forever.”
He let out a tense breath of relief.
“I won’t talk about anyone else like that, or flirt with anyone, or anything along those lines, if that’s what you want.” You assured him. “You are mine, and I’m yours. Okay, pup?”
He flushed at the nickname, and nodded, and you smiled brightly.
“I’ll even get you a dog collar with my name on it so that everyone can know you’re mine.” You said - your tone was distinctly joking, but you didn’t miss the way he bit his lip, and the lustful light that grew in his eyes.
“Shut up.” He laughed, shaking his head.
(He definitely wouldn’t end up masturbating to thoughts of that later. Definitely not.)
...
Please keep in mind, there will not be a continuation or a 'part 2'. This is a oneshot, meaning that it is a complete story on its own and I do not feel the need to continue it. If you comment asking for a Part 2 or asking for a continuation after I have written this ending message, I consider that to be extremely rude and unkind.
If you are going to comment, please comment about the content of the fic that has been written. I love discussing the characters that I write about with other people in the comments and connecting with fellow fans. I work very hard on my fics and I always appreciate comments, but I do not appreciate when people only comment asking for more rather than wanting to discuss what I have already worked hard on.
Even if you don't comment, I hope you enjoyed, and if you want more from me because you enjoyed this fanfic a lot, you should definitely check out my Teen Wolf Masterlist, which has a lot of similar fics!
Happy Reading,

DAY 1
Morning comes the same way it always does — too soon, too cold, too reluctant to let you ease into it.
You woke up ten minutes late today. Not enough to send you into panic, but just enough to make the morning feel a bit rushed. Your sweater slightly mismatches your coat, but you tell yourself it’s fine. Your bag feels heavier than usual, though you can’t remember adding anything new to it.
The streets are damp from last night’s rain, and a few early risers move with purpose, clutching coffee cups like lifelines. You walk the familiar path to the station, following the same cracks in the pavement you always do.
The train is late today. Two minutes, maybe three. Enough to remind you that the world doesn’t run on your schedule.
When it finally arrives, you step in, immediately greeted by the usual low murmur of conversation, the shuffling of feet against the floor, the faint scent of someone’s too-strong cologne. You shift your bag higher on your shoulder, scanning the car for a spot, eyes moving without much thought. And that’s when you see him. He stands by the farthest door, one shoulder pressed against the glass, gaze turned outward.
You don’t know why you pause. Maybe it’s the way the early light spills across his face, casting faint shadows along the bridge of his nose and his sharp jawline. Or maybe it’s the way he seems entirely detached from the rush around him, earphones in, lost in something only he can hear.
He wears a brown high-neck sweater, the kind that looks soft even from a distance. One hand is tucked into his pocket, the other wrapped around the strap of a worn black backpack. His expression is unreadable—not bored, not impatient, just… distant.
You don’t think he notices you.
It’s silly, the way you keep looking. He’s just another passenger, someone you’ll probably never speak to, never know. But still, you watch him for a moment longer, as if memorizing this version of the morning before the spell breaks.
A man steps in front of you, shifting to adjust his briefcase. The moment lasts only a second, but when you glance back.
He’s gone.
You blink, scanning the space where he had been, but now, it’s empty.
For some reason, the thought lingers as the train lurches forward. You shake it off, exhaling softly. It’s nothing. Just another passing commuter, another stranger among many others.
As you grip the pole tightly, you wonder
Will he be here tomorrow?
DAY 2
The train doors slide open with a mechanical sigh, and you step in. Your usual spot is taken today by an older woman clutching a canvas tote, her head tilted forward in light sleep. So you move a little further down, fingers curling around the overhead rail.
And then you see him. You don’t mean to look, not really. But there he is again, standing in the exact same place as yesterday — leaning against the glass panel near the doors, hands tucked into the pockets of his coat. Today, a book rests in his grip, fingers idly turning a page as his gaze flickers across the words.
You wonder, briefly, if he ever misses his stop. If he ever gets so lost in thought that he forgets where he’s going.
The thought lingers for a second too long.
A jolt in the tracks sends the train swaying, and you glance away quickly, feeling oddly self-conscious. It’s nothing. Just another passenger in the sea of strangers.
And yet, when you step off at your stop, you catch yourself glancing back. Just once.
_
DAY 10
It’s been ten days since you first saw him. Ten mornings of stepping onto the same train, gripping the same pole, and watching him from the corner of your eye.
Every day, he’s there — leaning against the glass panel, the same sky-blue book in his hands, which makes you wonder if he ever really reads it. His hands are always in his pockets; sometimes, his gaze turns toward the window.
You don’t know when you start expecting to see him.
He’s just supposed to be another passenger, another face in the blur of morning commuters. But now… now, the moment you step onto the train, your eyes move without thinking, searching and waiting.
The next day comes like all the others. But lately, there’s one thing that makes the mornings feel less mundane.
You find yourself on the platform, scanning the crowd before you even realize what you’re doing. Maybe you’ll never know his name, never exchange a single word, but that doesn’t stop your mind from conjuring a thousand possibilities, fleeting thoughts that leave you restless.
The train arrives with a familiar hum, and as you step inside, your eyes instinctively seek him out.
There he is.
Standing in his usual spot, clad in a high-neck sweater and loose-fitted trousers. But today, something is missing — his book.
Instead of reading, he simply watches the city blur past, his reflection faintly mirrored in the window. One hand is tucked into his pocket, the other grips the strap of a worn brown suitcase.
And then his head tilts slightly.
For a brief second, a flicker of something unfamiliar stirs in your chest.
Is he looking at you?
The thought unsettles you more than it should. Your fingers tighten around your phone as you glance away too quickly, pretending to check the screen. A silly reaction. He’s probably just lost in thought, staring past you like people often do.
Even as you tell yourself that, the feeling still lingers.
DAY 11
You’re not a superstitious person. You never believe what people say about black cats crossing your path bringing bad luck. On the contrary, you feel good things happen to you when you see a black cat.
And weirdly enough, the man on the train feels like your black cat. It’s not that he actually brings good luck. It’s just that your day seems a little better whenever you see him.
Today, you oversleep. Miss your alarm. Burn your toast. Everything feels five steps behind as you shove your shoes on and fly out the door, heart pounding at the thought of the impending scolding from your manager for being late.
You’re breathless. Disoriented. Out of rhythm.
The train is already at the platform by the time you arrive, and you squeeze in just before the doors seal shut.
But it’s okay, you think — as long as I see him.
And then, your gaze lifts instinctively.
He’s not there.
Your eyes dart across the carriage — once, twice, again. Nothing. Just faces you don’t recognize. None of them are him.
Your heart sinks, and it shouldn’t. You know it shouldn’t. People have lives. Schedules change. Trains get missed.
Still, you lean your head against the glass, suddenly aware of how loud everything feels in his absence. The usual quiet thrill has dulled.
You spend the ride staring out the window. Trying to mimic the way he does it. Trying to imagine what he sees in the blur of grey buildings and sleepy streets.
It doesn’t work.
You get off at your stop and walk a little slower.
Funny, how much space a stranger can take up in your head.
_
DAY 13
Today, you see him again. And somehow, that alone makes you feel like the day might not be so bad after all.
You can’t find a seat in the morning rush, so you claim a spot near the door, your shoulder resting against the cool glass panel.
Just like any other day, he enters.
Today, he’s in a dark blue satin shirt tucked neatly under a black trench coat. He takes his usual place across from you, setting his suitcase down by his foot before pulling out the same sky-blue book he reads every day.
You squint slightly to catch the title — Ikigai. You make a quiet mental note to buy it later.
The train halts at the next station, and a new wave of commuters pours in. The space tightens. You try to brace yourself, but the crowd pushes you forward.
Your shoulder bumps into someone — him.
You freeze, flustered, about to apologize when he looks up from his book.
“Are you okay?” he asks, voice deep and smooth like velvet.
You nod, maybe a little too quickly, mumbling a quiet thanks before turning your face away, hoping the heat on your cheeks isn’t too obvious.
And then he smiles. A perfect little curve that deepens into a dimple.
Oh man.
If you weren’t in deep before — you are now.
DAY 20
It takes a whole twenty days for him to finally notice you.
Like any other day, he enters the train and occupies his spot near the door. This time, you happen to be standing beside him. Like clockwork, he pulls out the book, slides the bookmark free, and holds it between two fingers; eyes moving smoothly over the pages.
The train screeches to an abrupt stop between stations, and the lights overhead flicker once before settling into a dim, humming glow.
Around you, the usual groans begin. A man sighs dramatically. Someone taps their foot like it might make the train move faster. The lady next to you mutters something under her breath about being late again.
The volume of your earphones must be louder than you think, because he looks at you and asks, “Laufey?”
You let out a sigh, glance at your watch to check the time, and look up instinctively because he’s here today too.
Just in time, his gaze lifts and finds yours. The corner of his mouth quirks up, and you can’t help it — you smile back.
Not entirely sure he’s talking to you, you pull out one earbud and mumble, “Sorry?”
He gives a little smile before repeating the question — and god, that damn smile will be the end of you.
You don’t put your earphones back in. Somehow, it feels rude now. Your gaze flickers around the coach, searching for something, anything to keep the conversation going.
“Ikigai! I’ve read it. It’s nice,” you blurt out, nodding toward the book in his hand.
“Really?” he says, sounding pleasantly surprised. “I haven’t met many people who really understand it. It’s nice to find someone who appreciates it. What part did you like the most?”
Idiot. Why would you say that?
You haven’t even finished the book. You bought it on a whim, sure — but gave up halfway through because it was too dense for your brain to grasp at 10 p.m. on a work night.
“Uhh… the… the living part.”
What the hell does that even mean? Could you make a bigger fool of yourself?
“That’s… interesting,” he replies, polite but clearly unconvinced. You can feel the moment your credibility starts slipping away.
“I mean, I really like the concept behind it,” you add quickly, grasping at straws. “You know, the idea of ‘the happiness of always being busy’… things like that.”
You let out a nervous laugh, hoping it masks the rising panic. He’s still looking at you, curious. That unnerving kind of silence that feels like he’s trying to decide whether you’re genuinely insightful or completely full of it.
Just when you’re about to change the subject or fake a sudden phone call, he smiles again. A little smaller this time. Softer.
“That is a nice thought,” he says, his voice warm now. “I think that’s what I liked too.”
You blink. He’s letting you off the hook?
Relief floods through you, and you feel yourself relax just a little, your shoulders easing out of the tense shrug you didn’t even realize you were holding.
“You probably understood it better than I did, though,” you say with a sheepish grin.
“Maybe,” he says with a shrug, “but I haven’t finished it either.”
“You’re evil,” you mutter under your breath, just loud enough for him to hear.
You stare at him, stunned for a beat — then laugh.
Of course he hasn’t. Of course he let you sweat for a full minute before throwing you a lifeline.
He chuckles, and the sound settles somewhere low in your chest.
For the rest of the ride, you don’t put your earphones back in.
DAY 30
You finally get to know his name. Seungcheol. It suits him, you think.
You’ve started greeting each other every time you meet. You don’t talk much, just small conversations here and there about your day, the weather, or whatever comes up.
At some point, you admit you gave up on Ikigai because it was a bit too complex for your “small brain,” as you put it. He laughs at that. Really laughs but ever since, he’s taken to explaining parts of the book to you whenever you meet.
And you can’t help but think… if you’d known him during your college years, you probably would’ve passed every exam with flying colors.
You find out that he works in finance and surprisingly, his office is near yours. The revelation makes you wonder why he never gets off at the same station as you, but you don’t ask.
Some things feel too delicate to question just yet.
One morning, you notice a small Captain America keychain dangling from the zipper of his suitcase — a new addition. Curious, you ask if he likes Marvel.
He laughs, shaking his head. “My nephew stuck it on and insisted I keep it. I haven’t really watched many of the movies.”
You gasp dramatically, loud enough that a few passengers turn to look. “You’ve never watched Marvel?!”
He winces, grinning. “Maybe one or two? I don’t remember much.”
From that moment on, your train rides take on a new rhythm. You start explaining the entire Marvel storyline, movie by movie, diving into characters and chaotic timelines, your hands animated and your eyes bright with excitement.
And Seungcheol? He listens. Really listens — eyes on you, smile tugging at the corners of his lips, occasionally asking questions or teasing you gently when your passion makes you trip over your own words.
_
DAY 40
Lately, Seungcheol starts getting off at the same station as you.
The first time it happens, you shoot him a curious glance, unsure if it’s just a coincidence. But when it happens again, and then again, you can’t help but ask.
“Sorry if it seems like I’m intruding, but… why didn’t you get off at the earlier station?” you ask, brows slightly raised.
Today, as the train slows to your stop, you notice he doesn’t move toward the doors like he usually does.
Instead, he waits beside you.
He catches your glance and smiles casually. “I used to get off early to grab coffee. Their brews were the best I’ve ever had.”
“So… no coffee today?”
He shrugs, hands tucked in his coat pockets. “I woke up early to get it before the train. That way, I could ride with you.”
Your heart thumps a little. Not enough to show on your face, but enough that you feel it in your throat.
You look away, trying to hide your smile.
“Ah… well,” you say lightly, “must be some really good coffee.”
“Second best part of my morning,” he replies without missing a beat.
DAY 46
Walks with Seungcheol are part of your routine now.
You used to drag yourself out of bed to start the day, but lately, you wake up on your own even before your alarm rings.
You learn he has a dog. Kkuma. A pretty little Coton de Tuléar with soft white fur and a habit of stealing the spotlight. He goes on evening runs with her every Sunday, and almost without fail, he sends you a picture afterward. Kkuma, dressed in a tiny hoodie or a frilly bow.
At some point, the two of you exchange numbers. It starts with simple texts — “I reached safely” and “See you tomorrow” — but quickly grows into something more.
Now, you text nearly every day, even though you see each other just as often.
And while Kkuma is adorable, you can’t help but zoom in just a little to catch a glimpse of the man holding the leash, his messy sunday hair. The hint of a smile he doesn’t realize he’s wearing.
__
It’s pouring today.
You’re already halfway to the subway when the first drops begin to fall. Too light to worry about, at least at first so you keep walking, brushing damp hair from your face as the drizzle picks up.
Seungcheol boards the train two stops after yours. And the moment he enters, his eyes scan the crowd searching until he sees you. Then he makes his way over.
You talk about your weekends — easy conversation, soft laughter. It makes the ride feel quicker than usual.
When you step out of the station, you realize you forgot to check the weather. The rain’s still coming down, steady and unrelenting. You don’t have an umbrella.
Seungcheol, like some savior from a drama scene, wordlessly opens his umbrella and holds it over your head. You offer to carry it, but he refuses. So you ask to hold his suitcase instead.
But a few steps later, he stops. With his right hand, he adjusts the umbrella and then with his left, gently pulls you closer, tucking you beneath the canopy again.
You walk side by side, shoulders brushing now and then.
After the third time, you shift slightly away, not wanting to invade his space.
Your arm brushes his.
“If you get sick,” he says, eyes forward, voice casual, “who am I supposed to go to work with?”
You don’t say anything, just look up at him and smile. But you don’t move away either.
DAY 50
You and Seungcheol start growing closer.
It isn’t just morning walks anymore. Sometimes, you stop by a café after work, sit across from each other with drinks in hand and talk about everything and nothing. You walk home together too, shoulders bumping every now and then, especially when the sidewalk narrows.
If one of you is running late, the other waits—no matter how crowded the station gets.
Even the metro rides become something you look forward to. You talk about dinner plans or what shows you’re binge-watching. Some days you just share a playlist, sitting in companionable silence as the train rocks gently beneath your feet.
The evenings are always busier than the mornings. Too crowded to sit together, too loud to talk. So you both end up standing on either side of the door, listening to the same song through your AirPods, synced through Bluetooth. It becomes a little ritual.
Still, you hate the space between you.
It’s silly. Just a few feet. But Seungcheol has this quiet warmth to him—like being near him makes the train feel less suffocating, the day a little lighter. And on the days when the coach is packed and you have to stand apart, you miss that.
Then, one day, you fish into your bag and pull out your wired earphones instead.
Seungcheol notices immediately. “What happened to the other ones?”
“Oh… um, they broke,” you say, not really looking at him.
He doesn’t ask anything else. Just smiles and reaches for one side of the wire, placing the left earbud in his ear while you take the right.
You stand side by side that day, close enough that your arms touch. Close enough to hear him hum under his breath. And when the train jolts forward suddenly, he reaches out instinctively to steady you—fingers curling briefly around your wrist before letting go.
Neither of you say anything about it. You just stand there, sharing music.
And somehow, the ride home feels shorter than ever.
That night, after dinner and a long shower, you flop onto your bed and reach for your phone.
No messages.
You stare at the screen for a moment before opening your playlist—the one you listened to with Seungcheol on the train.
You scroll down and tap on one song. The one that was playing when his fingers brushed yours.
You don’t think too much about it—you just send it to him. No caption. Just the link.
A few minutes later, your phone buzzes.
Seungcheol [11:47 PM] good taste also… I liked this part the best [audio snippet attached]
You play it. It’s the chorus.
Your phone buzzes again.
Seungcheol [11:48 PM] reminds me of train rides and someone hogging the right earbud 👀
You smile, cheeks warming.
You [9:49 PM] i offered to switch sides you’re the one with territorial issues
Another reply, instantly.
Seungcheol [9:49 PM] fine, next time I’ll hold the wire hostage
You laugh, phone resting against your chest.
DAY 69
You don’t expect to see Seungcheol on a Sunday.
Today is supposed to be all about the Han River. There’s a lantern festival happening, something your friends have been buzzing about for weeks. If it were up to you, you’d spend the entire Sunday curled up on your couch, binge-watching Friends for the third time this year.
But your friends are determined. They show up at your apartment in full force, barging in with iced coffee and snacks. Apparently, they don’t trust you not to cancel again.
And honestly? Fair enough.
Last year, you claimed you had “urgent office work.” The year before that, you said your grandmother was sick and needed to be taken care of.
(Sorry, Grandma. You’re doing great. I love you.)
So here you are dressed, dragged out, and mentally preparing yourself to be social for the next few hours.
Your group decides to head to the river early to avoid the crowds and grab lanterns before they sell out. After a long walk under the sun, everyone is tired and hungry, so you volunteer to run to the convenience store and grab some ramen.
What you don’t expect is to bump into Seungcheol doing the exact same thing.
And judging by the surprised look on his face, he doesn’t expect to see you either.
He lifts a hand in a small wave, his voice matching it in volume. “Hey.”
You open your mouth to respond, but before you can, Jihyo appears at your side, arms full with four cans of beer.
“Oh, hello,” she says, giving Seungcheol a polite nod before turning to you. “Who’s this?”
“Oh, we go to work to—”
But Seungcheol doesn’t get the chance to finish.
“You go to work with someone?!” Jihyo gasps dramatically. “Wow, didn’t think you had friends outside of us.”
Before you can react, a blond-haired man strolls up to Seungcheol’s side.
“Cheol, there’s no space outside.”
“Then we’ll just sit here—” Seungcheol begins, but Jihyo is faster.
“You guys can join us!”
“Oh, that would be lovely,” the blond man grins. “Sitting with pretty ladies and eating good food? Count me in.”
“Jeonghan—” Seungcheol starts, but again, Jihyo cuts him off.
“This is going to be so fun!”
Just like that, she walks off with Jeonghan, chatting like they’ve known each other for years. You can’t help but envy her a little, for how effortlessly she talks to new people.
That leaves you and Seungcheol standing alone, both a little thrown off but smiling anyway.
You exchange a glance, share a quiet smile, then follow after the two of them, side by side.
By the time you all finish eating, the sun has dipped low in the sky. The festival is about to begin—lanterns being unpacked, children running around with glowing sticks, couples picking spots near the river.
You and Seungcheol haven’t talked much since the ramen store encounter. Not because anything is wrong, but because suddenly, things feel… different.
Awkward in a new way.
Even though you’ve known him for a while now, even though you’ve shared coffee, playlists, and half your mornings—something about seeing him here, outside your usual rhythm, throws you off.
You keep catching each other’s eyes and looking away just as quickly, only to glance back a moment later. Each time your eyes meet, he gives you a small smile. You return it, cheeks warm.
The boys couldn’t buy the lanterns because all sold out early, so you decided to share yours.
The six of you split into groups to light and lift the lanterns—Jihyo and Nayeon pair up, Jeonghan and Joshua team together, and that, of course, leaves you and Seungcheol.
You sit on the grass with the lantern between you, a set of markers in hand.
“Should I draw something meaningful or just… stars?” you ask, uncapping a pen.
“Stars are meaningful,” Seungcheol says, kneeling beside you.
You smile and begin sketching— tiny stars, a moon, a little ramen bowl in the corner for fun. Seungcheol adds a small Kkuma doodle near the bottom. Your hands brush once. Neither of you moves away.
When it’s finally time to lift the lantern, you both stand, holding it gently between you. Around you, dozens of lanterns floating into the sky, glowing orange and soft against the inky blue.
“Ready?” he asks, glancing at you not at the lantern.
You nod. “One, two, three…”
You let go.
And for a second, your gaze follows the lantern.
But his stays on you.
The sky is dark and clear, making every light stand out sharply. Lanterns float up one by one, glowing softly in warm shades of orange and gold. They move slowly, carried by the breeze, flickering light. The river below mirrors them perfectly, like the sky has dipped down to meet the water. It’s calm, almost still, just the soft rustle of grass and the low hum of people watching in silence.
The sky sparkles above you, but you feel the warmth of his eyes more than the lantern lights.
_
Later that night, back home, your phone buzzed with a message from Jihyo.
It was a photo.
You and Seungcheol standing shoulder to shoulder, watching the lantern rise. The light from the flame illuminated your faces, casting a glow that made the photo look straight out of the Tangled movie.
Then another message follows.
Jihyo [11:59 pm] you & your lover boy 💗
You roll your eyes, already typing a response.
You [typing…] “it’s not like that—”
Before you could even hit send, another message pops up.
Jihyo [12:00 am] “and don’t even try to say no. i’ve seen the way you look at each other.”
You stare at the screen, speechless.
Because, maybe you don’t really want to deny it.
DAY 70
Jihyo’s words stay with you the whole night. You keep reaching for your phone, opening it just to stare at that photo again. You don’t see it, the so-called look Seungcheol is giving you—not the way Jihyo describes it.
Still, it’s enough to keep you tossing and turning, caught between curiosity and denial.
When you wake up, there are faint dark circles under your eyes. You even stare at yourself in the mirror, wondering if it’s actually possible to get dark circles overnight.
You start your day later than usual. Not because you oversleep. No, you’ve been awake for a while—but because you’ve been trying to avoid Seungcheol. You time your routine to reach the station half an hour late, thinking—no, hoping he’s already gone.
You aren’t ready to face him. Not after everything in your head starts sounding like Jihyo’s voice.
But of course, life has other plans.
Seungcheol is still there—standing on the platform, eyes scanning the crowd like a puppy trying to find its owner. And when he finally spots you, his face lights up instantly. He waves too eagerly, too wide and jogs over to meet you.
“Oh! Seungcheol,” you say, caught off guard.
“Hey!” he grins. “I was this close to calling you.”
“Why didn’t you go?” you ask. “Won’t you be late?”
“It’s fine,” he shrugs. “Just a few minutes.”
“Seungcheol. I was thirty minutes late. That’s not just a few minutes.”
He smiles, almost like it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
“I wanted to go with you.”
And just like that—your heart does that stupid thing again. The thing where it thumps in your chest a little too loudly, like it’s trying to remind you you’re not as unaffected as you pretend to be.
You look away, down at your shoes, anywhere but at him.
Because Jihyo might’ve been wrong about the look. But you aren’t so sure about yours.
_
When it’s time to get off work, you make some excuse that you have to stay over longer because of some pending work and ask him to not wait for you.
To which he replies with a pout emoji and an ‘okay’ with it.
DAY 74
Over the next few days, you try to avoid him—subtly. At least, you think it’s subtle. But apparently, you aren’t as discreet as you’d hoped. Because on the third day, Seungcheol texts you, asking if you are avoiding him, if anything is wrong, or if he did something wrong.
You stare at the message for a long time, guilt creeping in.
You don’t mean to hurt him. Truly, you don’t. But the space helps. You need those few days to gather your thoughts, to figure out what’s going on inside your own head.
And somewhere in that quiet, you realize something.
You might actually like Seungcheol.
Not just the morning walks or the shared playlists or his little smile when your eyes meet. Him.
And now, all you can do is hope—really hope that Jihyo has been right all along about the way he looks at you.
So you decide not to avoid him anymore. And also maybe try to come clean about your feelings.
_
DAY 75
You wear your pink skirt and a white off-shoulder top today—the one Jihyo swears makes you look like an angel. You wake up extra early, wanting to take your time getting ready. Something different from your usual pencil skirt and tucked-in blouse. A little blush, soft liner, your favorite lip tint. Nothing too dramatic, but just enough to make you feel… pretty.
Because today, you decide. You are going to confess to Seungcheol.
You are nervous, no doubt about that. But mixed in with the nerves is something else—something bright and fluttery. A little thrill at the thought that this could be the day everything changes.
It feels like either the last day you’ll see Seungcheol as just a friend… or the last time you’ll ever see him.
When you reach the station, he’s already there. He hasn’t noticed you yet, which gives you a quiet moment to take him in.
He looks good. Too good for a regular weekday.
A crisp black shirt tucked into slate grey pants, sleeves rolled up just enough to show his forearms. His hair is slightly messy, like he’s been running his fingers through it while waiting. He has one hand in his pocket and the other holding a coffee, eyes scanning the platform casually.
You walk over and gently tap his shoulder.
He turns, smiling. “Hi—”
Then his eyes widen slightly, his smile freezing for a second before softening into something warmer.
“Woah… you look amazing. Is there any occasion today?” he asks. “Wait, is it your birthday?”
You shake your head, shy. “No. I just… felt like wearing this.”
He tilts his head slightly, still smiling. “Well, you look really pretty.”
You mutter a quiet thank you, cheeks already heating up. Before you can say anything more, the train arrives, pulling into the platform with a gust of wind and that familiar screech of brakes. You both step in together, falling into your usual routine—music, small talk, the shared comfort of standing close.
Later, as you walk out of the station toward your offices, Seungcheol glances over.
“Hey… would you mind coming with me somewhere after work?” he asks.
“Where?” you ask, surprised.
“I need to buy a gift. For someone.”
You blink. Is he buying something for you? But that doesn’t make sense. Why would he take you along to pick your own gift?
Still, you nod. “Sure.”
—
You manage to finish your work quickly and leave the office earlier than usual. Outside, leaning casually against the building wall, is Seungcheol—head tilted down, focused on his phone.
He looks effortlessly handsome. Same shirt from the morning, sleeves pushed up a little higher now, hair ruffled even more from the long day. He glances up as you walk over.
“Hey,” you greet, and he slides his phone into his pocket.
“Hey,” he replies, smiling like he’s been waiting for you.
You fall into step beside him, the two of you making your way to wherever this little errand of his will lead.
The shop is located on the corner of an alleyway. No wonder you’ve never seen it before. Inside, it’s small but cozy, filled with shelves lined with candles, handmade accessories, tiny notebooks, and other gift-y things that feel both thoughtful and random. Seungcheol walks ahead, scanning the displays carefully. You trail behind, heart beating just a little too fast.
He eventually makes his way to the counter and leans in slightly, speaking to the worker.
“Do you know what would be a good gift for a lady?” he asks, voice polite.
The worker looks up. “What age range are we talking about?”
“Around 25?” he replies casually.
You don’t wait to hear the rest.
You quickly turn away and wander to the far end of the shop, pretending to browse a shelf of overpriced bookmarks.
Your stomach drops.
Of course he’s taken. Why wouldn’t he be?
You feel like an idiot. A man this kind, this funny, this good-looking—how could he possibly be single? You scold yourself internally for even letting the idea of confessing take root.
You don’t know what you feel more—embarrassed that you almost made a move, or heartbroken that he’s already someone else’s.
Maybe you should be grateful. At least you haven’t actually said anything. You can still keep the friendship. Things can stay the same.
Right?
Even if all you want right now is to go home, bury yourself in a blanket, and scream into your pillow.
DAY 87
You start avoiding Seungcheol again. This time, it isn’t subtle.
You don’t reply to his texts. When he messages asking, “Are you avoiding me again?”, all you can bring yourself to respond is a simple, “I’m sick.”
Technically not a lie. Just… not the whole truth.
You begin leaving for work fifteen minutes earlier than usual, hoping to slip away before he even reaches the station. On top of that, you start taking the women’s coach—just in case he happens to come early too.
It is ridiculous, you know that. But the thought of seeing him, knowing what you know—or rather, what you think you know is too much. You don’t trust yourself to act normal, and you don’t want him to see through you.
So you do the only thing you can think of. You disappear from his mornings. Even if it breaks your heart to do it.
—
But what you don’t expect is to walk through the door and see him there.
You decide you hate Jihyo.
She texts you earlier saying she and Nayeon are going out for drinks with some people, and asks if you want to come. You have been a mess for days—mopey, overthinking—so you figure, why not? A night out might help. Distraction can’t hurt.
You freeze just a few steps inside the bar, hand flying out to grab Jihyo by the wrist.
“What are they doing here?” you hiss, nodding toward the trio of familiar men at the bar counter—Seungcheol, Jeonghan, and Joshua, laughing over drinks like they have no idea they are ruining your life.
“Oh, I invited them,” Jihyo says with a shrug, like she just asked them over for coffee.
Your jaw drops. “How? How did you even get their numbers?”
“I exchanged numbers with Jeonghan the other day,” she says simply, brushing past your panic like it is nothing. And before you can protest, she is already walking over to greet them smiling, waving, completely unbothered.
You don’t have the energy to chase after her.
The rest of the night is a blur of noise and lights and everything-you-wanted-to-avoid crashing into you all at once. Seungcheol tries to talk to you more than once, always gentle, always a little concerned, but you keep brushing him off, pretending you don’t hear, pretending someone has called your name.
You laugh louder than necessary, drink more than you should’ve, and cling to Nayeon’s arm like it is a lifeline.
By the time it’s time to leave, you can barely stand without holding onto something or someone.
And when the drinks start to hit, you get drunk. Properly drunk.
Because maybe if your head is fuzzy enough, you’d stop remembering the way he looks at you in that photo or the way he looks at you right now.
Your head feels heavy, and your voice comes out slower than usual. Jihyo and Nayeon aren’t much better off. They giggle as they sling their arms around each other, tipsy and carefree. The problem is—they live in the same direction. You don’t.
Even in your dazed state, you can vaguely make out Seungcheol speaking to Jihyo.
“I’ll drop her home,” he says, voice calm and firm.
“YOU’RE THE BEST—thank you!” Jihyo shouts, completely unhelpful, before stumbling away with Nayeon, leaving you behind.
You stare at Seungcheol, swaying slightly, hugging your bag tightly to your chest like it is some kind of shield. He walks ahead, opens the passenger door to his car, and turns back to you with a tired sigh.
“Can you please get in?”
You blink at him. He raises an eyebrow. You don’t move.
“I’m not kidnapping you,” he adds dryly. “Just trying to make sure you get home in one piece.”
You hesitate for another beat before finally moving, sliding into the passenger seat with a clumsy thump. He closes the door behind you and circles around to the driver’s side.
“Can you put your address in the GPS?” he asks once he is settled.
You fumble with your phone, hands still trembling a bit. Eventually, you manage to type it in and pass it to him.
The car pulls out onto the main road, and for a while, there is only the hum of the engine and the soft sound of the air conditioning.
Then he rolls the window down a little.
The cool night air hits your face, it helps for a moment. You close your eyes, breathing in deep. The nausea settles just a bit, and your thoughts start to line up again, one by one.
Still a mess, still confused. But slowly sobering up.
You ask him to drop you off a little farther from your house—somewhere down the road, away from your actual address.
But, of course, Seungcheol doesn’t listen.
He stops the car right at the bottom of the slope that leads up to your place, shifts into park, and turns to you.
“Stay here,” he says gently, before getting out of the car.
You blink, confused, until you see him circle around and open your door for you. He holds out his hand.
You hesitate, but your legs aren’t steady enough to argue. You let him help you out, his hand warm around yours. He doesn’t let go even as you both start walking up the quiet slope together.
The silence between you stretches for a few minutes, just the sound of your shoes on the pavement and distant insects chirping in the dark. You aren’t sure if it is the alcohol still in your system or the storm in your chest, but eventually, you break the silence.
“Why are you being so nice to me?” you ask.
He glances at you, eyebrows pulling together slightly. “What do you mean?”
You exhale slowly, avoiding his eyes. “You know it’s not exactly gentlemanly to lead on a lady when you’re already in a relationship.”
He stops walking.
“…What relationship?” he asks, voice cautious.
You keep your eyes forward. “The bag you bought the other day—it was for her, right? Your girlfriend.”
He says your name softly. Then again, firmer. “Look at me.”
You do. Slowly.
“I don’t have a girlfriend,” he says. “In fact… there’s someone I like.”
Your heart sinks anyway. Just hearing those words “someone I like” even if it isn’t someone he is with, it still isn’t you.
You look away. “Then go tell her. Why waste all this time on someone who you won’t like back?”
Your voice drops to a mumble at the end, but he still hears it.
He squeezes your hand, just enough to make you look at him again.
“You’re the one I like”, he says.
You don’t know if it is the alcohol or the months of slow-burn tension finally snapping but you lean in.
“No,” he holds you back by your shoulders. “Not like this. Not when you’re drunk. Not when you might not remember.”
Your lips part in protest, but nothing comes out. Your face crumples instead, and without another word, you turn around and start walking ahead.
“Just go,” you mutter. “I’m fine. You don’t have to follow me.”
He doesn’t argue. Doesn’t call out to stop you. But he doesn’t leave either.
He stays parked at the bottom of the slope. Watches you unlock your door. Waits until you step inside. Stays there until the lights in your house turn off.
You don’t know what exactly you’ve done.
But one thing you are sure of. The ghost of tonight is going to haunt you tomorrow.
DAY 90
You were right.
You don’t remember everything that happened last night. Bits and pieces come to you in flashes—your head pounds every time you try to force the memory. You vaguely recall leaving the bar, Seungcheol’s car, walking up the slope...
The more you try to piece it together, the worse your headache gets.
You pop some ibuprofen, hoping it will dull both the physical ache and the mental chaos. It doesn’t do much, but it helps just enough to drag yourself out of bed and into work clothes.
When you finally make it to the station, still feeling like your brain has been put through a blender, you spot him.
Standing exactly where he always does—except now, just the sight of him sends your stomach into a spiral.
You freeze in place.
Few memories flash by. You remember asking about the gift. You remember accusing him of leading you on.
Oh no.
Oh god.
Did you try to kiss him?
Before you can figure out how to vanish into thin air, Seungcheol is already walking toward you. Calm. Collected. Way too composed for someone who might’ve been kissed by a drunk mess.
He reaches into his pocket and holds out a hangover medicine to you.
You blink. Then take it with a quiet, “Thanks.”
“About yesterday…” he starts.
Panic flares.
“Nope,” you blurt. “I mean—OH LOOK! The train’s here, let’s go!”
You practically speed-walk past him and into the nearest compartment like your shoes are on fire.
The entire train ride, you keep a very safe three-foot distance between you and Seungcheol, standing awkwardly near the door like you don’t even know him. You avoid eye contact like it is your job. If someone had drawn a chalk line around you, it would’ve been labeled “emotional damage containment zone.”
You have no idea what to say or what he wants to say. But whatever it is… you aren’t ready.
_
DAY 94
You had, against all odds, successfully dodged the talk with Seungcheol. And honestly? You were kind of proud of yourself.
Sure, it wasn’t the most mature move, but avoiding awkward emotional conversations? You were practically a professional at this point.
Not that he made it easy.
He still waited at the station for you, even though you started leaving earlier than usual in the hopes of missing him. On the train, you avoided any and all eye contact like your life depended on it. And despite that, when evening rolled around, you’d still find him waiting outside your office building, casually leaned against the wall like he hadn’t been ghosted for a week straight.
You’d just mumble something about needing to finish up emails and hide behind your monitor.
Even your coworkers had caught on.
“Your handsome man is downstairs again,” one of them would say with a teasing grin.
“You shouldn’t keep a man that fine waiting. It’s rude,” another would chime in.
But today… Seungcheol clearly decided enough was enough.
As you walk out together after work, the sun just starts to dip low in the sky. He glances sideways at you and asks casually, “Do you like cafes or parks better?”
You blink. “Huh?”
“The vibe, I mean. Like if you had to pick. Cafes or parks?”
You furrow your brows, confused but grateful he isn’t bringing up that night.
What you didn’t realize, of course, is that he wasn’t just making small talk—he is trying to figure out where you’d feel more comfortable. Where you’d feel safe enough to finally talk.
Which, honestly? Is kind of really sweet.
The park is quiet this time of day—just a few people jogging, some kids chasing each other near the fountain, the sky turning that soft, cotton-candy shade of evening.
You aren’t sure how you got here, really. One second you’re walking with Seungcheol, and the next he is leading you toward a bench under a big tree, acting like this is just another casual detour.
Except… you know it isn’t.
You sit beside him, not too close, not too far. Your hands rest in your lap, picking at your sleeves. You can feel your heart beating in your throat.
Seungcheol doesn’t speak for a while. He just sits there, hands resting loosely on his knees.
“I thought you were mad at me,” he finally says.
You keep your gaze ahead. “I wasn’t.”
“You avoided me like I had the plague.”
You let out a breath—part laugh, part guilt. “I panicked.”
“Why?”
You hesitate. “Because I remembered bits and pieces from that night. I thought maybe I said or did something I shouldn’t have.”
There is a small pause.
“You didn’t,” he says. “Nothing weird happened. Except maybe how fast you ran off afterward.”
You smile despite yourself. “I was embarrassed.”
“Why?”
You glance at him, then look back at your hands. “Because I started overthinking things. You were just being nice, and I made it weird.”
He is quiet again for a moment. “I wasn’t just being nice.”
That makes your heart skip a little, but he doesn’t press it.
Instead, he nudges your foot lightly with his. “Anyway, I just didn’t want it to be awkward.”
You nod. “Yeah… me neither.”
“Cool,” he says, leaning back slightly. “So… we good?”
You look at him, and something about the way he is watching you makes you feel lighter.
“Yeah,” you say. “We’re good.”
The conversation shifts to safer topics after that. You stay on that bench for a while longer, talking about random things—the weird subway ad you both hate, the café with terrible coffee he swears he only likes for the muffins.
And just before you leave, he glances at you and says, casual as ever, “Hey… let’s hang out next week. Like, properly.”
You blink. “Like… outside the train?”
It isn’t like you haven’t seen him outside other times, but this time it might be just you two. You and him.
DAY 99
The days passed quicker than you imagined.
You and Seungcheol still took the train to work together every day, but somewhere along the way, those commutes turned into something more. You started stopping by cafés on the way. Tried out that dinner place that had been all over your feed. Even ended up at an arcade once—half-tipsy from drinks at a pojangmacha tucked into the corner of some quiet street, laughing so hard you nearly cried when he lost to you in a dance battle.
Today, you stood on either side of a fogged-up train door.
Absentmindedly, you doodled a tiny smiley face on the glass with your finger. When you looked up, you caught Seungcheol doing the same—drawing a tiny heart just beside your smiley.
You didn’t say anything. Just smiled to yourself the rest of the way home.
Later that night, as you were drying your hair after a shower, your phone buzzed.
Seungcheol [9:13 PM] hey!! can we meet tomorrow?
You blink. Sit down on your bed and quickly type back:
You [9:13 PM] (indented) sure!! where tho??
It takes him a minute to reply.
Seungcheol [9:14 PM] (indented) there’s this garden café near dongmyo… it’s quiet and pretty at night. 7pm?
You bite your lip, smiling at your screen like an idiot.
You [9:17 PM] sure 😊😙 see you then!
DAY 100
You are nervous as hell. You are sitting on one of the corner seats at the café, fiddling with your hair, smoothing down your skirt, rubbing your hands against your thighs like it will somehow calm your heartbeat.
Now you sit in that café, trying not to look at your phone every five seconds. He isn’t late. You are just early. Painfully, ridiculously early.
You dress up more than usual today—okay, a lot more.
A sheer, light mocha-brown ruched blouse with soft, billowy chiffon sleeves and a deep V neckline. A high-waisted, dark chocolate brown maxi skirt with a gentle drape and ruched detailing at the hip. You even do a winged eyeliner—after three failed attempts. You check the mirror at least ten times before finally forcing yourself out of the house.
Five minutes pass.
Then the bell over the café door chimes, and you instinctively look up.
There he is.
Seungcheol walks in, dressed in a warm chocolate-brown crew neck sweater and cream-colored corduroy pants. His hair bounces slightly as he moves, and somehow, he looks even better than you remember—soft and put-together and annoyingly, heart-flutteringly handsome.
You stand up as he reaches the table, and he gives you a breathless smile, holding out a small bouquet—white lisianthus and garden roses, sprinkled with baby’s breath.
“You’re early,” he says, just a little out of breath, eyes scanning your face and outfit in a way that makes your skin buzz.
You nod, shy, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. “So are you.”
He chuckles softly. “Guess we’re both a little eager, huh?”
And just like that, the nervous weight in your chest lightens, bit by bit.
Dinner is perfect.
Seungcheol insists you try everything. Every time you so much as glance at something on the menu, he tells the waiter, “We’ll have that too.” Your table is overflowing with plates by the time the mains arrive, and you lose count of how many times he leans forward to ask if you are full, if you like it, if the dessert is too sweet.
He keeps spacing out mid-sentence, staring at you with this dazed, boyish look before shaking his head and mumbling, “Sorry, what were we talking about again?”
You tease him for being distracted. He claims it is the lighting that makes him space out. You know it isn’t.
And even though he laughs and looks like he has everything together, you notice the way he fidgets with the hem of his sleeve when he thinks you aren’t looking. How he checks his phone screen just to lock it again.
After dinner, the two of you step out onto the quiet street.
The rush has died down. The air has cooled just enough to make you pull your cardigan tighter. Street lamps cast soft glows on the pavement, and the sounds of the city fade to a distant hum—just footsteps, laughter from across the block, and the occasional car passing by.
You walk side by side. Close, but not touching.
Until he stops walking.
You turn to him. “Cheol?”
He looks nervous. Palms in his pockets, shoulders drawn in slightly, eyes fixed on the road like he is rehearsing something in his head.
Then he looks at you.
“I know this is random,” he starts. “Well—not random, but kind of sudden? Or maybe not. I mean, it’s been a hundred days. That’s a lot. But also not enough, I guess, to say something like this—but it also feels like it is.”
You blink. He isn’t making much sense.
Seungcheol takes a breath and scratches the back of his neck.
“What I’m trying to say is…” He looks at you, really looks at you. “I like you. Like—really like you. More than a ‘train friend’ or a ‘text you memes at 11PM’ kind of way. I think I’ve liked you for a while now, and I kept waiting for the right time, and then today just feels like it. Because it’s special, right? A hundred days. And I—”
“Seungcheol.”
He keeps going. “—I mean, I didn’t want to make it weird, and maybe this is weird, and I’m talking too much—”
You step forward and wrap your arms around him.
He freezes. Then melts. His hands hover for a second before resting gently on your back, holding you like he doesn’t quite believe you are real.
You pull back just enough to meet his eyes. “I like you too.”
It is quiet for a moment. His eyes search yours like he is waiting for you to take it back, like he has to double-check that he heard you right.
You smile. “I was kind of hoping you’d say something.”
A quiet relieved laugh slips from him.
Then, softer, “Can I kiss you?”
You nod.
Seungcheol steps in close, one hand resting lightly on your waist, the other hovering just beside your cheek like he is scared to touch you too fast. His gaze flicks from your eyes to your lips and back again, as if he is memorizing you right here, under the soft yellow glow of the streetlamp.
His fingers finally brush your jaw, a soft touch, careful—like you are something delicate. Your heart thuds in your chest, loud enough you’re sure he can hear it.
Then, slowly, finally, he kisses you.
His lips are warm, soft, hesitant at first—testing the waters, afraid to mess it up. You tilt your head and lean in, and that’s all the reassurance he needs. His hand slides to the small of your back, pulling you a little closer, and he kisses you again—this time deeper, more certain.
There is just the feel of his lips on yours, the quiet rhythm of his breath, the faint scent of his cologne—something warm and woodsy that makes your knees go weak.
When he pulls back, just enough to rest his forehead against yours, neither of you say a word. Not yet.
The night is quiet around you, just the hum of distant traffic, the glow of streetlamps, and the soft sound of your breaths mingling in the small space between you.
He finally speaks, voice low, like he doesn’t want to break whatever this is.
“Do you know what today is?”
You smile. “A hundred days.”
He nods. “A hundred days of you. Of seeing you on the train. Of wanting to say more, stay longer.”
You blink up at him, heart full.
“I want more,” he says, thumb brushing your cheek. “Not just another hundred. I want all of them. Every day.”
You lean in, kiss him one more time.
And as you stand there, in the middle of a quiet street with the man who used to be just a stranger on the train. You think the next morning, the train will still come.
And this time, you’ll be boarding it—hand in hand.
BONUS - SEUNGCHEOL’S POV (DAY 1)
The train pulls in, slowing with that familiar screech of metal. Seungcheol leans against the glass panel, one hand in his pocket, headphones in, watching people come and go.
Then she steps on.
He doesn’t recognize her — she’s new, at least to him. She looks around for a moment; the seats, the windows, the slow-moving scenery outside. There’s no rush in her expression, just quiet observation.
She finds a spot across from him, steadying herself on the rail as the train lurches forward. For a while, she just watches the buildings go by, eyes calm, thoughtful.
Then she pulls out her phone, scrolling through something, expression soft and unreadable.
He looks away, pretending to focus on the song playing through his headphones. But it’s hard not to notice her — how she stands a bit straighter than everyone else, how she seems almost peaceful even with the crowd pressing around her.
She doesn’t look at him. Not once. Or so he thinks.
Still, he catches himself checking.
And then the train keeps moving, same as always.
He hopes to see her tomorrow too.

You
“I once heard that all tears are carried to the sea,” Kenn begins as he steps forward. His hand hanging in the air as he fights for words. Giving comfort to the grieving has never been his strong suit. A faltering his father Vorgoth often chided him for.
But this is Taash. His love. The very breath in his lungs and beat of his heart. Standing on the sands as purple colors the falling sun. Sobbing for their mother, for a future lost to them. And a past now tinged with sorrow.
“Really?” they ask as his words break through their heartache. Looking up as their eyes meet his and he tentatively steps forward. Now is his chance, and for his kadan he will not fail.
“Yep. Why I always wanted to see the ocean. I was so excited when we got to come to Rivain.” He has their attention now. Their cheeks are still stained and eyes still swollen, but they don't flinch when his fingers entwine with theirs and he gently smiles. “So imagine my surprise when I found you instead. And suddenly the waves didn't seem so important.”
They roll their eyes at him as they look out to the water. Staring off for only a moment before they hum with quiet thought. “Of course that's the death mage's reason for wanting to see all this.”
“Taash!” he exclaims as he pulls back and playfully pushes their shoulder. “I was trying to be serious this time!”
“I know,” they reply as their hand finds his once more before pressing it to their chest. “You've been really understanding through all this. So I guess I'm trying to say thanks. For being here.”
“Hey,” he says as he reaches up to touch their cheek. “You've been here for me as well. That's what people do. Love's not easy, but it's worth it. And as long as we stick together, we can get through anything.”
“Maybe,” they reply in that deadpan way. Most people would find that response annoying, but Kenn has come to adore their mannerisms over the last few months.
“Hey no maybe,” he gently chides as he leans up to hover his lips just outside of their reach. “It's the truth.”
“Like all tears being carried to the sea?” they challenge as the corner of their mouth twitches up in a grin. Falling back into their old ways under the comfort of his love.
“Exactly like that,” he replies as his lips find theirs. And as they kiss on the Rivaini sands, they are reassured that even on their worst nights, Rook will still always be there for them.

Skyler's VLD Zine Giveaway: enter by August 31st, 2025!

Hello hello!
As some of you may know, I have a TERRIBLE habit of over-collecting VLD merch. Well, today, that is YOUR potential gain. Because I have come to propose a silly little game with prizes for two (2!) lucky winners.
INFO BELOW THE CUT!
What do I have to do?
Draw!
Well, it's slightly more complicated than that. Spelled out:
Read one (or more!) of the six qualifying fics linked below the cut. Reading the whole fic isn't required if you find the scene you're interested in early on, but it's still highly encouraged!
Pick a scene (or more than one!) and create art for it.
Share your art on Tumblr (and anywhere else you want to), making sure to include: tagging the fic's author, tagging me, a mention of this giveaway, and a link to the fic. Finally, if you are okay with the author embedding a copy of your artwork in their fic (giving you credit, obviously!), please say so in your post.
I'll reblog your art when I see it, and once I reblog, you are officially entered for both of the prizes. If I don't reblog within 48 hours, please DM me in case I missed the post!
You are NOT limited to one entry! Submit as many pieces as you want. Each piece submitted gets your name in the drawing for each prize 1 time, so 1 piece = 1 entry each, 2 pieces = 2 entries each, etc.
Bonus: if you include a screenshot of or direct link to a well thought-out comment you leave on any of the qualifying fics, you can earn one additional entry per fic. The comment needs to be a comment you made because of this giveaway, so no comments older than this Tumblr post will count. If you can't or don't want to draw, you are completely welcome to enter the giveaway by only using the comment method. You can't stack multiple comments for multiple entries, so make it one good comment for each of the six qualifying fics for up to six entries in the giveaway.
Okay, then what?
Every entry gets you one (1) ecstatic author, no limitations.
But two randomly-selected winners will also win VLD merch from my collection! I will do the drawing soon after the giveaway closes on August 31st, 2025.
What merch!?
A copy of the Besitos del Mar Klance mermaid zine
A copy of Sharpshooter: A Lance Sports Zine
(Make this fun to host, and you'll probably see another round with different prizes in the future. I never learn to stop buying merch bundles...)
Any rules?
Don't be a dick.
No generative AI. If I find out you used it for any portion of any of your entries, all of your entries are disqualified.
Please don't enter something super generic. It should be clear it was inspired by the fic. Low skill is totally fine! Low effort is not.
Please don't enter if you aren't okay with the author of the fic linking to your artwork (with credit given). Bonus if you give permission to let the author choose to embed the art in their fic (again, with credit given to you!), but that's completely optional. I can't make promises for the other authors involved, but if you choose option 1 in the fic options below, I will definitely be linking from my fic to your artwork!
Some of the qualifying fics are rated explicit. Do NOT make an entry based on an explicit fic unless you are at least 18 years old. I have provided qualifying non-explicit fics for minors and anyone else who prefers them! I will disqualify any entry based on an explicit fic if I see that it was submitted by a minor. This applies to both art entries and comment entries.
The prizes are free and the shipping is free, but you do need to provide a full legal name and address where you can receive a package. I am happy to ship internationally, but please confirm that I will be allowed to send you a package from the United States before you enter. If I'm unable to ship to your location for legal/logistical/you-not-cooperating reasons, I will reroll a winner in your place.
If you just want to participate and not enter for the prizes, that's fine! Either don't tag me (but please still tag the author of the fic!) or mention somewhere in your post that you are not entering for any prizes.
If you're only interested in one of the prizes, say which one you want to be entered for somewhere in your post! I'll put you down just for that one so you don't win something you don't want.
All submissions must be received by 31-Aug-2025 at 11:59pm EST. After that, I'll be drawing the winners. I'm not gonna (and don't want to) stop you from sharing more art, but I can't enter you for a prize anymore at that point! I'll DM the winners, allow up to a week for a response, and reroll any winners I need to after that.
What are the qualifying fics?
I thought you'd never ask! All of the options below are equally valid options for adults who want to enter.
Option number 1 and 2 contain explicit sexual references. Entries from minors will NOT be accepted for these two options.
Option number 3 and 4 are rated mature but not explicit. Minors may participate with these two options at their own discretion.
Option number 5 and 6 are rated teen and should be suitable for anyone old enough to agree to the Tumblr TOS.
Mind any tags and trigger warnings on all of these fics. You are under no obligation to read any of these, and you shouldn't if it's going to negatively affect you! A fun little $20 prize is not worth it.
1) Maybe this thing works out (if I'm lying too) by @occasionalklance
2) escape velocity by @existwound
3) Grin and Bear It by @loadingboy
4) Even the People in Your Dreams Will Lie to You by @roylustang
5) i'm only overthinking when i'm close to you by @langst
6) No Place is Home by @catsushinyakajima
And there you go!
Final summary:
1 entry per fic if you leave a nice, well thought-out comment on that fic - multiple comments on the same fic do NOT get you multiple entries
1 entry per piece of art you create for any of these fics - multiple pieces of art ARE allowed for the same fic, and every art piece is another entry into the giveaway
Be nice! Show the authors you appreciate their fics! Please show me there's enough demand for something like this so I can look forward to hosting more giveaways in the future!
You can view the entries received here, split into 1 tab for Besitos del Mar and another for Sharpshooter.
#vld#voltron#klance#also i am BEGGING you to reblog this post#it's not limited to followers only and i do NOT have a wide reach on my own lmao#come play games with me even if you don't wanna follow! that is fine! it's still fun!

ROMANCE WITH ZORO
[headcanon] PRE TIMESKIP
• Zoro is someone who dreams to be the greatest swordsman, we all know that. Achieving romance with zoro is unlikely given that he is focused on his goal, but if, for some unexplained reason, this guy actually managed to get in his brain that he's in love, I think this is how it would go.
• Zoro is more of an action type rather than verbal, so he would show you that he cares in action. Through body language, maybe like, standing close to you without realizing it, offering you water or food without comment, or looking away when you catch him staring.
• Even though he likes you, he might not get into a relationship with you so it'll all just be unspoken tension between you two. (I love you but I can't. Why not? Ahhh)
• He might train himself more and avoid you, because if he gives in, he's going to lose sight of his goal — he's gonna be in denial. Also, he'd be mad at you, at himself, at the world. Because you’re now a distraction—a distraction with soft eyes and a laugh that echoes in his head while he’s trying to train.
• But he'd train harder, push himself more, and sleep less, because if he can just be strong enough — maybe he won’t need to choose between you and his dream.
• He avoids you. Not in an obvious way, he'd just always be somewhere else, and if you ask him why, he’ll grunt and say, “Got stuff to do.”
• He thinks about telling you once. But whenever he opens his mouth, the words taste like betrayal so he swallows them with sake and silence.
• Eventually, he would just stay in one place once he sees your down casted face every time he goes somewhere else if you're around, but he wouldn't actively seek for you, if you did for him then this man is not going to move from his place. He would just listen to you talk, or do whatever you want to do by his side.
• He would always be looking at you. His eyes would trail on where you once were if you were to disappear and if you manage to catch his eyes he would either close them to pretend like he's taking a nap or he would look away out in the distant sea.
• But why wouldn't he let himself love you? It's because he thinks that love will weaken him. That if he lets himself fall, he’ll lose the drive to stand back up. That if he chooses you, he'd be failing Kuina, his promise, his vow.
• Also because he believes he doesn’t deserve you yet. He thinks you deserve someone who can give you a future, not a man chasing ghosts with a sword on his back.
• But zoro isn't stubborn. No, no, he's terrified. Because once he lets himself love you, it won't be halfway — it will never be — it will be everything. And you’re the only thing in this world more dangerous than Mihawk’s blade.
IM GETTING THE HANG OF THIS. Anyways, as alwaysz this one is kind of rushed, wanted to get it all out of my head first. But when I read it, I thought it was good enough so I'll just post it and possibly edit it again when I wake up when I realize that omg wrong grammar, yeah when that hits me. Anyways, hope you guys had fun reading this.
Spoiler alert, I'm actually writing a short fic about this. Idk how to write angst properly — oops? Wasn't supposed to say that.
I WAS ABOUT TO SLEEP TIGHT WHEN I FORGOT TO ADD TAGS GAH

Note
as someone who's 33 and writing Narilamb and reading your comics, and also kinda interested in different kinds of art myself, it is so so nice seeing someone around my age who's into this fandom and making art. I feel so stupid sometimes that it's hard to even pick up a pencil or stylus - and I'm new new new to art like that so I need that practice time. seeing people like you making what you love and not giving a good goddamn is really inspiring. I'm sure you get lots of love for your comics but idk I just wanted to say thank you 💗 your cat and Leshy make so many people smile for so many different reasons :)
AW I do get a lot of kind feedback, but it's rare that I don't have the time/energy to answer. I really appreciate messages. I do read and see all of it, and every little tag matters. It's why I try my best to leave at least a little tag when I reblog art, and I'm not shy about sending messages to creators when I have, again, time/energy. People are shy, but we are all dorks, you realize it pretty quick when you start interacting more with the artists you follow. Warning surprise super LONG life dump bellow. I was like "Inspiring, are you sure? I'm also wreck, let me tell you just so there's no misunderstandings" and bam, novel.
About being 35 and making whatever I want: I do in fact feel self conscious about a lot of things, it's just that people on the internet don't really matter. That sounds harsh, but it's true. It's like people you meet on the street, or at bars, or at work: mostly polite positive interactions, some nice memories, a few of them will form solid bonds with you, the vast majority of them will be lost as soon as they're not in the same vicinity as you anymore. And it's normal, and it's ok. Humans aren't made to nurture too many relationships, even the social ones. So I personally enjoy fandoms in a detached sort of way that might feel like I don't give a damn. I think it's healthy tbh. But it's easy to appear calm and detached when you don't really have skin in the game. I really care about this blog it's my fun place, but it's completely detached from my actual life. I'm being an anonymous dork among dorks, it's nice. Some people are dumb sometimes and I don't care. What are they gonna do, sue me, lol. BUT LIKE. I almost deleted that blog once because and IRL person I know found it? I panicked SO HARD. Y'all nerds can look at my silly comics with cute cats kissing: not people in my real life. I'd rather be found drawing hardcore tentacle porn or sniffing paint. I'm not like, brave or anything, I'm hiding online XD
And honestly life is haaaaaaaard right now. For everyone lately. but for me personally: fanart is a nice hyperfocus to forget that life is a bitch. A distraction. I've always been "too sensitive" never could hold a job for too long, because people are awful in low level entry jobs, I never got one that I really like. I've been studying art and digital art, it's been hard, and it didn't lead me anywhere professionally for various reasons. I paid a private school and I am just finishing paying a big loan, just for the (average) skills I got being used to draw a cartoon bush with legs, kissing a cat, on a dusty website. It's so incredibly easy to feel like a failure. And being an artist SUCKS in this world. I'm not an artist by choice, god I would love to be smart enough to have done different studies, and have some kind of job that actually pays. But no, just did a professional profile, and all my affinities lead to creative work, I'm doomed to be good at things that are hell to make money off of when you don't have twice or thrice the energy a regular job needs. I just can't stop. Even when I take breaks, I always come back to creating things. A life's curse, truly.
I feel depressed now, so let's filter this shit through my "15 years of therapy" voice translator: -I'm not too sensitive, people telling me this in my life have all been notorious assholes. If we had more raw hearted people, daily life would be softer, and we wouldn't have wars. Us kind softies are vastly underappreciated. -I haven't been paying a school for nothing, I met my best friends there, learned a lot of skills and methodology that serve me today, and will serve me later in ways I can't just pinpoint yet without hindsight. I also have a lot of experience and help I can share with younger people and beginners. I'm a great art teacher. -I'm happy that I can't help being creative. So much people trail off into things they don't like, and realize later that they're utterly miserable. It's harsh, but not having the strength to pursue something you don't like is kind of a blessing. You avoid so much shit on your life path. it's not a life worth living. I've seen people with good paying careers give them up to get fully into a passion. -It's okay to draw a bush kissing a cat, who fucking cares what you do on your free time, the cops? It's ok to enjoy cute and silly things even when everything gets serious- especially when everything get serious. So much of us get our inner child crushed it's terribly sad. -The silliness is serious actually. You can get a powerful life lesson from deep books about philosophy and self-care and shit, but they're not rare everywhere else. The silliest movie, comic or fanfic can have a line or a character that will resonate enough with you to change your life. Like a tiny little piece that was missing in your personnal puzzle. I felt deeply moved by some comics online, so my own comics online 100% have the same value. What are "serious" media but hobbyists getting their art to a bigger professional scale. We're all telling stories around campfires and there's nothing stupid, shameful or weak about that. Egyptian gods were dramatic furries ffs.
I'm eternally stuck between "Yeah follow your heart and do art" and "It will lead you to hell though" because I feel like both are true. But do you really have a choice? What are the other options? I personally don't, so I just pick up the pen for a hobby, and started applying to ceramic courses for a career change. We'll see where it goes.
Well that was a lot, but I have some serious anxiety issues that make me over-explain stuff, and I'm talkative, and I'm on my period. Enjoy.

A bit more political than usual but:
There has been a rash lately of blogs posting anti-Israel stuff in the jewish tags.
Now, I am not going to get into a discussion about whether or not being anti-Israel or antizionist is antisemitic or not, if you care you can look it up yourself.
What I will say is as follows: the 'jumblr' and 'jewblr' tags are used for jews to talk about jewish stuff. It is also used by non-Jews to talk about Jewish stuff on occasion, or for Jews or Jews-in-progress to talk about whatever.
All of which is fine, I am not a gatekeeper of tags.
But what it is not for is for a non-jewish person to use in a post unrelated to Judaism, written in an intentionally inflammatory way, so as to aggravate at least 80% of tumblr Jews.
You have also started to use the 'orthodox' 'Judaism' and 'frumblr' tags, which are (even amongst Jews on tumblr) basically only used to discuss the religion itself.
So I want to be clear: You are being antisemitic.
You are entering a Jewish space and screaming loudly so as to drown out whatever the Jews are trying to say.
It doesn't matter what your screaming, you could be making posts about star wars with no political implications and it would be the same (provided you did it with the same frequency).
I am pretty sure this is all one person, as there have been about 10 new blogs in the last 5 days that follow basically noone, have one non-political post, and then constantly spam politics in the Jewish tags.
And the fact that you have made all these accounts (with seperate emails, as each one has it's own like and following page which doesn't happen with sideblogs), means you know on some level that what you are doing is wrong.
I do not care what you're reasoning is, what your defense is: You are making the primary way that Jews on tumblr communicate with/find eachother practically unusable, and that is an antisemitic act.
So, to whomever is doing this. If you have an ounce of capability of self reflection: read this. think about it. be better.
If you don't? Well, you are fucked anyways, because this behaviour will eventually leave you friendless in the real world.
#jumblr#jewblr#<- I'm using those tags because I am jewish and this is a post about the jewish community on tumblr#see how that works?#tag spamming is I think against tumblrs tos but I have no idea how to report it#Also tbc a one off wouldn't garner this reaction#everyone has seen a post in a tag that doesn't belong there#Hell there is an anti-religion meme guy that tags all his post with basically every religion#despite the vast majority of them being christian centric#but he doesn't tag it jumblr he does 'judaism' which is better in context#and he isn't doing 20 fucking posts a day#the scale at which you are doing this shows your intent is malicious#so yeah#go fuck yourself

random sfth longform hcs bc idk
(under cut bc its long)
for no real reason other than my own projection, johnny and janae both have arfid. their parents had the “you can just force kids out of being picky eaters” mindset and didn’t give a singular fuck about actually helping them with it, so by the time tnutb takes place its pretty severe for both of them. luckily their individual aversions line up in a way where for the most part they can trade the things one of them can’t eat but the other can (this doesn’t work for everything though- good luck ever getting either of them to consume a mushroom, those are the devil from the bible)
one of the first things frankie ever stole was a stuffed animal for donnie when they were young and perhaps donnie was sick or just having a particularly hard time
nigel and lord lafayette are related. not necessarily super closely, but there's definitely a family connection there
janet had really bad morning sickness the entire time she was pregnant with peter. she considers it karma.
meth wife if self medicating something with the drugs she does. haven't decided what. also she might actually do heroin bc i think sam was mixing up the two (he says its meth but acts like its heroin)
amanda came out to her dad completely unintentionally while high after getting her wisdom teeth out
i've already briefly addressed the "characters played by luke with glasses also have glasses" hc here, but titch also has glasses. he hates it, thinks they're annoying af to deal with, prefers contacts whenever possible
poppy and tobias bring mario and bertie pretty much anywhere and everywhere they’re allowed to, and they get anxious/lonely very quickly whenever they’re apart from them
johnny's future dreams were very mundane at first and got more catastrophic/nightmarish as he got older. yea tis projection again
not my idea, but i like the idea of jasper apprenticing under margery at some point
pumpkin ice cream is objectively the best ice cream and derek will fight you if you claim otherwise
clarissa uses hallmark movies as genuine fashion inspo- and somehow pulls it off???
bubba is such a hopeless romantic it's almost embarrassing. i mean flowers for every special occasion, love notes planted around the farm, "ao3 would tag this as tooth rotting fluff" levels of sap. he very firmly believes that being married to jeremiah is one of the best things that ever could've happened to him and it's a wonder how he wasn't the one to propose. jeremiah is definitely still the more practical one, but honestly he's just as sentimental and he adores how much of a sweetheart his husband is
absolutely feel free to add on your own i love reading them
#sfthposting#the neighbour's under the bed#all eyes on nigel#the milkman#toby’s secret pocket#the lighthouse#wine under the bridge#moist and magical#clarissa's diy wedding#the detective versus the christmas tree bandits#inside the mysterious cube#honestly i could probably write some of these i have concepts of ideas

Season 4 AU where Mike leaves Rachel after finding out about the kiss but doesn't want to go back to Pearson Specter. He's done living as a fraud. Harvey, feeling guilty and sympathizing with Mike's pain, offers up his guest room to stay at while he figures out his living arrangements (Mike doesn't want to go back to his apartment because it was Rachel who made it look like a home... it all feels too much like Rachel.)
It's hard to live with Harvey because Mike knows that Harvey expects great things from him, but right now he's adrift, clueless, at times he doesn't know what he likes; did he ever know what he really wanted?
Harvey tries to make it easy for him: he doesn't ask for rent, offers to pay for groceries, buys Mike a new bike when his old one ultimately falls apart. Mike wishes to return his genorosity so he starts cleaning around the house, tidies up the place, makes dinner (his famous Grammy's spaghetti sauce) on the days he knows Harvey has had too much take out.
They build a routine, Mike and Harvey. They have breakfast together. They text each other throughout the day. They plan movie nights. They go out for drinks every Friday.
(tags for under the cut: domesticity, misunderstanding, love confessions, soft & yearning!Harvey, mild sexual content, Mike and Harvey are in love and meant to be, your honor!)
Mike doesn't even realize their dynamic has changed till he watches Harvey reject a pretty waitress, "It was nice chatting, but we're gonna have to go home pretty soon. Early morning."
Which is bullshit. Harvey doesn't have "early mornings", he arrives to the office whenever he damn well pleases. Mike confronts him when they get home (and when did he start seeing Harvey's apartment as theirs?), which Harvey first rebuffs as "letting the girl down easy". Mike calls him out on it.
"You haven't brought anyone since I moved in," Mike says, feeling flustered for some reason. "You haven't gone out with anyone, actually! You spend all your free time here—with me."
"Mike," Harvey warns, voice sharp and authoritative; so reminiscent of their old dynamic. "Just let it go."
"No. I'm not letting it go!"
Because Mike is stubborn. Mike knows Harvey is lying to him. Mike's brain won't let him forget Harvey's softness in the mornings, Harvey's easy smiles, Harvey's dorky nature behind closed doors. He can't. He won't—
"Just tell me if I'm an inconvenience to you," Mike finally says. "Just... You need to stop living your whole life around my comfort. I'm a grown man. I can find a job. I can get a new place. I can stop bothering you."
Harvey stares him down, face hard, unreadable. Mike's insecurities rise to the surface at that expression.
I have been bothering you, he thinks. And starts walking to the exit, keys in hand, mind racing for solutions: to get a new place, to save his friendship with Harvey.
Mike makes it about three steps before Harvey stops him.
"You were always shit at reading people," he says, still standing exactly where he is.
Mike turns back, confused. "What do you mean?"
"Mike," Harvey sighs, letting the poker face fall; letting Mike see the vulnerability in his eyes. "I didn't invite the girl back to my place because I didn't want her here."
"Because you need your privacy—"
"Because I haven't wanted to invite anyone back to my place since you've moved in," Harvey corrects. "Because... I want to take care of you."
Mike's mouth falls open. "...What?"
"I want to take care of you," Harvey repeats, drifting his gaze down to the floor; and wow, is Harvey Specter actually nervous? "I want you here, in our home, till— Fuck, Mike. I want you in my life. I don't want anyone else."
Mike continues to stare, dumbfounded. Till his brain finally clicks it for him.
"Oh my God, you're in love with me."
Harvey shrugs, too nonchalant for Mike's liking.
"Harvey—"
"You can stay as long as you like," he cuts him off. "And I don't expect anything, alright? If you're uncomfortable, I can find you a new place right away. But I swear, Mike, don't leave before you're ready just because I said—"
Mike strides across the room on a mission.
He grabs Harvey's cheeks, lifts them up, forces those deep brown eyes to look back at him—and spots the heaviness in them.
Mike won't ever forget. He wouldn't even if he had the choice. The great Harvey Specter, looking at Mike Ross with only love in his eyes.
"You're in love with me," he whispers, dazed. "With me, Harv."
Harvey's eyes twist in pain, and no, no, no— Mike won't allow that.
"You dumb son of a bitch," Mike tells him, which makes Harvey snap from the pain, even if irritated. "I thought you read people for a living!"
"Mike—"
"Harvey, I've been in love with you from the fucking beginning!"
It's Harvey's turn to look out of place, lips parting in shock, eyes softening at the confession.
"God, Mike," and he murmurs his name with so much longing it... Mike's mind is made up.
He cuts the distance between them, smacking their lips together. It's not a perfect kiss, by far. Their noses bump into each other. The movement was too brash, too hard. But he felt Harvey sigh against him. He heard his moan. It was everything.
Harvey's perfect manicured hands come to rest on Mike's hips, pulling him further into Harvey's space. They caress his waist. They find their way under his shirt. Mike gasps as Harvey's warm fingers grip his bare skin.
"Mike," Harvey moans, before his teeth come to pull on his lower lip. "Oh, Mike. We wasted so much time."
Mike imagines brushing his hand down his hair, imagining how it might feel, how it would be like to caress the back of his head. Except Harvey is kissing him on the mouth with tongue. So he doesn't have to imagine anything. He does exactly what he wants, and is surprised at how soft his hair feels. How good it is to hear Harvey groan as Mike's fingers touch his head.
Harvey brushes his forehead against Mike's. And Mike smiles, knowing they can never go back; he doesn't ever want to go back.
"Let's not waste one more second then," he says, and brushes his lips over Harvey's warm neck, sucks a kiss right over his pulse—because if you're closing the love of your life, you go all in.
"God, Mike," Harvey moans his name like it means everything. Mike whimpers without meaning to.
At that, Harvey's hands drift below. Fondle Mike's ass.
Then pulls him up by the back of his thighs. Mike's makes a surprised sound—he did not yelp—and his legs wrap around Harvey on instinct.
Harvey looks up at him with more than amusement. A fondness, he thinks. Sees it.
Harvey smiles like he just won the biggest poker game in his life. Mike can't help but laugh at how soft he looks.
Which Harvey shushes quickly with a second not-so-perfect kiss; a bit too much tongue.
And delivers Mike to the main bedroom. Lays him down on the soft silk sheets. Kisses him, over and over; those kisses turning more perfect by the second. Harvey touches Mike. Makes him come to the point of exhaustion; so, so much, one orgasm after another, till his eyelids turn heavy and he can't help but fall asleep on Harvey's bed.
Which was totally the plan. Because Harvey wakes him with lingering kisses the next morning. Whispers, "I love you," into the back of his neck. Doesn't let him get up till Mike has had another earth-shattering orgasm given by the one and only Harvey Specter.
"I could get used to this," Mike croaks, once he finds the energy.
"Good," Harvey says, all too proud of himself. "Because I have no intention of letting you go."
The amazing Mike Ross snickers. Kisses the confusion off Harvey's face. Before proclaiming, "I was never planning on leaving either, dumbass."
Suffice to say, they don't leave their bedroom till much, much later, when their stomachs beg for sustenance other than each other.
