I don't mean to be flashing credentials here but... I am a fan of this guy and have been since the age of 9, and I also have a PhD in Counselling Psychology with a specialty in ND individuals and brain injuries. I cannot stress this enough: Knowing Paul's entire bio like I do, I cannot stress enough just how much I truly, completely, and utterly believe that he is an extremely high-functioning ND individual. He has many traits, and an apparent lack of empathy (not a true lack of empathy, just the tunnel vision that makes it impossible for him to see how his actions, words, and behaviour may be hurtful to others and complete unawareness of cues) is a BIG one. Add to that his unconventional mannerisms, fixations, certain avoidant behaviours, obsessive conduct, a need for things to remain a certain way, synesthesia (which he has confirmed in a bio somewhere), his hyperactive behaviour, anxiety (nail biting, lip biting, fidgeting, etc), stims (he tends to repeat some things under his breath), uncanny natural skill at music and art,... In my book, Macca's a poster child for high functioning Autism as far as I'm concerned, but until a proper formal assessment confirms it (maybe it has and he will never tell), no one can ever truly and completely confirm it.

That's just my personal and professional opinion as both a fan and a mental health expert. Just sayin.

Yes. In his autobiography. He also analyzed their relationship in his diaries. For some context, here's a longer passage from Ken Womack's book, Living the Beatles Legend (Chapter 31).

As January 1970 came to close, Mal began drifting into an emotional slide that has been developing over the past several years. "Seem to be losing Paul," he wrote on January 27. "Really got a stick from him today. He let me down," and ominously added "Fixing a hole," "Pepper," and "directorship" to a growing list of disappointments. Apparently, the conversation had turned yet again to the issue of Mal's servile role in Paul's life, with the roadie believing that the association was bounded by friendship and love. "A servant serves," Mal wrote, "but he who serves is not always a servant," he added, echoing John's philosophy from December 1968. "Love is as sharp and piercing as a sword, "Mal reasoned, "but as the sword edge dulls — you sharpen it. So love's keenness needs honing — needs honesty." *

On February 11, Mal joined John and Yoko for a lip-synched performance of "Instant Karma!" on Top of the Pops, with the roadie, clad in beige suit and a light-green tie, playing the tambourine. By this juncture, Mal's long-standing relationship with Paul was in freefall. A few days earlier, he have been awakened by a 1 p.m. telephone call from the Beatle. It went "something like this," he wrote in his diary:

Mal: yeah? Paul: I've got time at EMI over the weekend. Would like you to pick up some gear from the house. Mal: Great, man. That's lovely. Session at EMI?! Paul: Yes, but I don't want anyone there to make me tea. I have the family – wife and kids there. Mal: [thinking to himself] Goes my poor head, "Why????" **

By the next week, Mal found himself behind the wheel of the Apple van, moving Paul's gear from EMI Studios to Morgan Studios, another Northwest London facility where Paul could work incognito. At one point, Neil cornered Mal about Paul surreptitious recording sessions, demanding to know more. "Where's Paul?" he asked, to which Mal tersely replied, "Not telling you."

In other instances, Mal ordered a Mellotron for Paul, while keeping him fully stocked with plectrums and other gear. In late February, Paul asked Mal to move everything back to EMI, where he was set to record "Maybe I'm Amazed" in Studio 2. Fruits Basket is actually a pretty fire manga when you consider that it portrayed a perfect picture of people stuck in a situation not of their choosing, who were both victims and perpetrators in their own way but all trapped and hurting, needing an outsider to approach them with kindness and acceptance and love for their current state who still very much did not want them to suffer under the effects of that vicious cycle. Sometimes you need to look beyond your own self to find freedom and healing (the zodiacs), and maybe by serving others can you be reminded that you yourself are just as precious as well (Tohru). Maybe all you need to escape the cycle of suffering is to look beyond yourself and listen, maybe you need a bit of space with the knowledge that you aren't isolated, and maybe sometimes you need that something beyond yourself to reach out to you and never let you go.

I present the duck candle art for a wip (character ref If You Give A Bat A Burger)

Step 1: place duck in a bowl of water

Step 2: allow for ambient ecto to be absorbed into the duck

Step 3: when the duck is fully saturated, murder burn it

Final product: ecto infused water, great for adding into soups or drinks for extra energy or used as the base for ectodejecto and other medical needs

For an AU where GK Danny works for Penguin because he is the only one with a family plan. He’s the on-site medic for big missions, a bouncer in the Lounge and animal caretaker mostly for fun. He learned most of hisnmedic stuff from Frostbite and Victor Fries whom he is friends with. Jazz is in a coma after she got severely injured when rescuing Danny from the lab. She can't go to the GZ bc it would kill her and Frostbite doesn't know human medicine enough to be of help. Penguin pays for her private hospital room that Danny has decked out with ducks of various use. The ducks are red because of Blood Blossom extract which attracts ecto rather than repell it.

(Ik it sounds like I got a plan for this but it's too wonky and I don't have everything planned out yet so it's locked in the basement for now)

saying "i love the way you write" and then suggesting that the writer's works be fed to a machine which will try to simulate the style of the writing on the principle of defining the word combinations the writer likes to use (no understanding of the text it produces, no intelligence which would make comprehending the meaning behind those word choices possible) is truly insane to me. they are either lying about loving the way you write or have absolutely no clue about ai. i'm not sure which is worse.

at best it's "i want something that looks like you even if it's not you" (how yandere of them). at worst it's "i will read anything the slop machine produces about my blorbo as long as i don't have to bother thinking on my own". sorry. i cannot stop thinking about that fucking ask. i am spinning it in my mind the way they should be mentally microwaving their blorbo.

generally i just don't think people are very familiar with creative writing as an art form. people can define a style and feel behind certain pieces of writing, but kind of lapse when it comes to acknowledging that style and feel as a deliberate by-product of a real person googling 'satisfaction synonym' for the three-hundredth time. on one hand, it's not something i think people can really be blamed for not interrogating, but on the other, i do think it signals back to a cultural delusion that art just kinda pops out of nowhere for no reason with no thought behind it. like not everything is just a straight-forward representation of real life made to be pretty and nothing else. sometimes we do be thinking about things, tragically.
