House of the Dragon 2nd rewatch - 1x04 King of the Narrow Sea
Otto was jealous and seething when Daemon returned as the King of the Narrow Sea and regained Viserys’ favor. Jealous of whom? Answers unclear (both, the answer is both)
Alicent sleeps on the opposite side of the bed to where Viserys maritally rapes her I’m gonna be sick.
This chapter is incredibly difficult to watch and also I kinda want to die watching it and also i kinda want to die just thinking about discussing it but yeah.
Alicent deserved better.
Rhaenyra deserved better.
Rhaenyra finding the clothing and the instructions to use the secret passages in her room implies that Daemon was in her rooms without her consent. Which I clearly felt like a parallel to Criston entering Alicent's bedroom without her permission.
Wish Rhaenyra had the power to obliterate Viserys with her mind like she clearly wanted to in that scene where Viserys is mocking Alicent.
Alicent wearing red is so weird. Seeing her wearing red is so jarring and seeing her wearing green is so fitting and I hate that we're used to the green color because that's not who she really is........but that's why it makes it even better, she believed that's who she was, she wanted so badly to be that person and all that represented. And it was all for nothing, at the end.

Adramelech theory time
Does anyone want to know a theory I have? no? Well, that's too bad you're getting it anyway.
Based on demonology Adramelech tried to gain worship as a sun god, alongside his sibling Anamelech who was considered a moon diety.
Does that sound familiar? Does that sound perhaps like Spade's royal family magic? Am I implying that all royals are shit regardless of the country and have a hobby of boosting their own power by stealing it from others? I sure am.
So here's the situation. Grinberyalls pulled the exact same shit as Silvamillions, except with devil magic. It's implied that the spade people know more about devils than they initially let on, Ciel included, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did some fuck ass ritual to steal Adramelech and his brother's attributes specifically.
But wait, you may say. Haven't we seen in canon that Adramelech can resist Lucifero's gravity and still has supreme devil levels of magic? He sure does and here's the catch. What he initially lost is an ATTRIBUTE, not mana itself. Kinda like Ladros who was born with no attribute at all.
Also the timing of WHEN the Grinberyalls became the ruling family with their magic is a little unclear. I'm even willing to go out on a limb and imply that it was around the time of when the first Qlipoth happened. Either they caught Adramelech and his brother during the 2nd gate opening and obtained his magic then OR the first Qlipoth was the responce to having their supreme devil's magic stolen by humans sometime before.
(Also not fully related to this theory, but I imagined that the first Qlipoth failed because it was sabotaged from the inside by Astaroth, who did not wish for human's extermination).
How does any of that relate to Adramelech working with Lucius? Well what if Lucius promised him to get rid of all of Grinberyalls in his grand plan, knowing that Adramelech and Anamelech would not get their full attributes back until the last Grinberyall is dead and thus the attributes can no longer be passed on to any further relatives?
My other idea was that Astaroth is tied into it more closely than initially shown. Maybe even having initally contracted Lucius, allowing him to use the power of prophecy as much as he pleases, on the condition that he can arrange the sun and moon magic to be returned to their original owners. If that is the case, then the spade coup may have been orchestrated by him before his disappearance, as killing all royal family members would release the attributes.
This brings me to my final point, the one that I think will result in Yuno stans hunting me down for sport, but here we go. Yuno is like the british empire, the culmination of stolen shit.
Wind magic? doesn't belong to him, it belongs to a soul of dead half-elf fetus that sits in his body and I'm pretty sure Bell was asleep for so long because she was supposed to be guardian spirit to that fetus when it grew up, but instead was in time out for 500 yeas until a twink shows up who just so happened to have the fetus soul living in him rent-free.
Star magic? Literally a result of stealing 2 devil attributes, followed by centuries of royal incest to ensure the celestial magic stays in the family. Sorry to burst your bubble, all royals are inbred, yes even your favourites. If Tabata wants to play loose canon with borrowing vague references from medieval Europe, so will I.
And you know what? From storytelling perspective it would be hysteric! The dude beloved by mana? The skinny legend that is stacking up magical buffs like a jenga tower? To reveal that all of his 'blessings' were not in fact blessings but came at the expense of somebody else? ALL OF THEM? This would be delicious. This would finally give us the relevant narrative parallel to Asta who has acknowledged long time ago that the power he wields is not his and did not even hesitate to try and give his grimoire away to the original owner.
#black clover#adrammelech#theory#i discussed it with a few people before#mostly silv and funky sea cryptid#i swear if at least some of it doesnt make it into canon i will feel like i failed apollo himself

GERMANY WANTS TO DEPORT EU AND US CITIZENS FOR THEIR SOLIDARITY WITH PALESTINE: Statement of the four activists facing imminent deportation
For press requests contact: [email protected]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[id: text description
1st image:
Germany wants to deport EU and US citizens for their solidarity with Palestine
Statement from the four activists
2nd image:
EU and USA Citizens facing immediate, politically motivated, deportation from Germany
We are four activists – three EU citizens and one US American citizen – facing deportation from Germany, ordered to leave by April 21, 2025.
For the sole reason of protesting Germany’s complicity in the ongoing genocide in Palestine, Berlin’s Senatsverwaltung für Inneres undSport (SenInnSport) has ordered our expulsion, arbitrarily accusing us of “antisemitism” and supporting “terrorist organizations” referring to Harakat al-Muqawamah al-Islamiyyah (Islamic Resistance Movement) or Hamas, as well as “its front organisations in Germany and Europe”.
Not one of us has a criminal record.
This is not justice: The Landesamt für Einwanderung (LEA) initially refused the order – recognising its lack of legal basis – but was forced to comply under political pressure from SenInnSport. The deportation orders were signed by LEA Director Engelhard Mazanke.
3rd image:
This is not the first instance of Germany weaponising migration law. Since October 2003, the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees has unlawfully frozen the processing of all asylum-seekers from Gaza, claiming “the current events [in Gaza] are consistently unclear and difficult to assess” – directly contradicting the German courts who have explicitly stated: there is a direct threat to life to anyone in Gaza. Meanwhile, anti-migrant and anti-Arab racists propaganda in the media manufactures consent for targeted deportations – predominately of Palestinians.
Rampant unrestrained police violence goes hand in hand with this repressive use if immigration law to silence pro-Palestinian voices and political dissent. Arbitrary arrests made at protests, combined with false charges, are used as pretexts to justify extrajudicial deportation measures, circumventing any notion of independent judicial process and the rule of law.
Germany’s revocation of the student visa and three EU citizens right to move withing the EU is an unprecedented escalation with dire implications.
4th image:
This parallels the Trump administration using deportation as a method of repression against US residents exercising their right to freedom of speech. Greece is attempting similar measures against 9 EU and UK activists, against whom all charges have been dropped. These escalations should alarm movements confronting state violence everywhere.
Our deportation is a political act – an attempt to intimidate an entire movement. By stripping us of our freedom of movement, Germany intensifies its repression of pro-Palestinian voices, disproportionately targeting Palestinian, Muslim, and Arab communities.
In the deportation documents, the LEA opens with a statement depicting the events of October 7th through Germany’s Straatsrӓson – a doctrine that enshrines unconditional support for Israel, no matter its systemic human rights abuses and war crimes. This same Straatsrӓson has been used to justify Germany’s complicity in the ongoing genocide, while systematically suppressing criticism of Israel’s 77-year settler-colonial project, ethnic cleansing, and the current mass slaughter, displacement, and starvation of Palestinians.
5th image:
We categorically condemn Germany’s complicity in genocide and reject these unlawful measures. With our legal team, we will fight this deportation all the way to the highest courts.
We stand in solidarity with all those – in Germany and globally – facing persecution for standing on the right side of history.
From Gaza to Berlin, the struggle continues.
No deportation will stop us.
Within our lifetime, Palestine will be free!

Ne as a base (1st) function (ILE and IEE)
The individual is skilled at generating intellectual interest and curiosity in others and using others’ curiosity to get them to do things.
He easily sees parallels between different situations, areas of knowledge or skill, and people, and likes to establish contacts across different fields of knowledge and social groups, which allows him to be part of many things at once. He enjoys considering differing viewpoints and perspectives and seeing if they can be reconciled.
He enjoys the beginning stages of just about anything - new projects, acquiring new skills, experiencing new people and relationships. Preparing for and launching something new is seen as having greater value than the process of experiencing what one already has and finishing what one has begun. The concept of “finishing” seems foreign to him. Instead of taking care to finish things and tie up all loose ends, he tends to drop things when he can’t handle them any longer or realize that he has neglected them for too long (this might be equally related to suggestive introverted sensing).
Ne as a creative (2nd) function (LII and EII)
The individual likes to apply his insight to specific situations, relating them to the bigger picture. He also enjoys discussing idealized circumstances or what could be rather than what is. Consequently, he usually has high standards, even unreasonably so, for those around him.
He does not pursue ideas or new opportunities merely for their own sake, but for their application to specific questions and issues that he feels are important.
Ne as a role (3rd) function (SLE and SEE)
The individual is uncertain of other people’s motives, intentions, and abilities and prefers to give them clear commands and assignments and judge their intentions and potential by whether or not they fulfill these demands.
He tends to openly express mistrust and skepticism towards all unexpected or novel behavior and developments, as well as towards information about things that he or she has not experienced directly. This mistrustful attitude usually goes away after the person has the chance to deal with the new thing, event, or behavior directly for a period of time and get used to it. He is able to orient himself quickly when he is in direct contact with events, things, or behavior, but when he is told about them far in advance or simply in the form of “random information that may come in handy some day,” he usually doesn’t know how to react to this information.
The individual prefers to know what awaits him in specific areas in the near future rather than what awaits him “in general” and in areas that don’t affect his central interests.
The person is particularly aggravated when people are late for unclear reasons and behave in other independent and unpredictable ways. This gives them the feeling of hanging in the air and general uncertainty about the future. Being action oriented people, this is difficult to bear.
Ne as a vulnerable (4th) function (LSI and ESI)
The individual is highly skeptical about ideas and opportunities that appear not to lead anywhere specific, and seeks assurance that new innovations will definitely bring material benefits. He prefers the kind of ideas and innovations that offer solutions to existing problems rather than the kind that have uncertain consequences and are likely to bring upheaval and unnecessary change.
The individual may tend to forcefully restrict other people’s activities in areas he thinks they have no natural talent in. At the same time, he or she is prone to make errors when judging whether or not a person is capable of doing something.
The individual generally does not try hard to understand multiple viewpoints, but concentrates on developing only his own. He is not very good at intriguing others with his ideas, even when they have significant merit.
The individual dislikes it when people evaluate others’ potential to engage in activities or develop skills in which they haven’t had experience yet; above all he is uncomfortable with such discussions by other people regarding himself. He is inclined to be either over-skeptical of his own potential or going to the other extreme and overestimate his possibilities in specific areas on occasion.
Ne as a suggestive (5th) function (SEI and SLI)
The individual has great respect and admiration for people who are always pursuing something new and different and are not tied down to material things. He easily becomes attached to people who believe in his potential and praise him for his unique skills.
He rarely emphasizes his talents, unique experience, or singularity publicly, but prefers to seem like “your average guy” so that others can relate to him easily. However, he is more open about his unique attributes in close personal relationships. He is sensitive about his talents and uniqueness because so often uniqueness creates distance between people rather than closeness. He dreams of having his uniqueness recognized, welcomed, and fostered by a close group, but “just in case” avoids emphasizing his uniqueness and talents in new or large group situations.
Since he finds it difficult to identify what unique talents he has, this often results in a tendency to avoid setting long-term career goals.
Ne as a mobilizing (6th) function (ESE and LSE)
The individual deeply appreciates people who are full of ideas and imagination and who give them a sense of connectedness to what is happening “out there in the world,” even if this information cannot be applied practically at the present moment. He is even more grateful for people who provide insightful ideas and unconventional analysis to enhance what he is working on or going through at the present moment.
Ne as an ignoring (7th) function (IEI and ILI)
The individual understands “external” connections made between different areas of knowledge and experience, but prefers to focus instead on “hidden” connections that have a special significance and help understand the mysterious, hidden nature of things. He is able to readily grasp the intrinsic potential of a given thing or situation, but prefers to restrict indulging such assessments in the face of understanding the latent processes underpinning said things.
Ne as a demonstrative (8th) function (EIE and LIE)
The individual is fairly good at generating all sorts of ideas, but doesn’t himself take the ideas seriously and views the activity as a sort of entertaining exercise lacking in value. It is more natural for him to apply his imagination and vision specifically to those areas where he is trying to achieve something than to “indulge” in thinking about things that have no relation to those areas of interest.

Don't mind me doomscrolling through your Josie tag 😂 I stumbled across this post and it got me thinking
Is this a parallel between 1x10 and 2x05. In 1x10 when Lizzie is talking to Pedro, she’s mentioning that she’s having these thoughts/feelings about Hope but she doesn’t quite know why. So deep down some of what happened, even if the memories were erased, must’ve stuck with her. In 2x05 Lizzie goes on about how Hope's disappearance has affected everyone. We know Lizzie was very begrudging to the fact that she actually likes Hope but she had outright said that it was ‘dumb and selfish’ of Hope to not tell everyone she was back because maybe Lizzie knew what a world without Hope could actually feel like for her. Was something telling Lizzie that she and the people around her literally can't thrive without Hope there, no matter how much everyone seemed happy, and that's how knew knew no one would be better off without Hope. Like, is that connected, is that where that comment came from?
Well, that’s what the posts are there for, to get people thinking! 😂
Oooh! That’s a great find. I did not remember that from either episode (I haven’t rewatched the series since it aired, and other than the start of S4, didn’t write down detailed thoughts…so I’m always working off of fading memories…and whatever @unsiredtribrid’s current rewatch sparks—and although I’m working on an alternate 3rd Wish AU, I haven’t read the transcript all the way to the end of the episode).
But we do know that impressions or feelings or something on an unconscious level stuck with Lizzie when she came back—Ablah specifically warned her that they would, and that they’d ultimately drive her crazy and she’d end up repeating the same mistakes AU-her had made. (It’s unclear to me, though, whether that warning is true or it’s Ablah’s final, screw-you, manipulation of Lizzie.)
I’m sure that when S2 aired I took what Lizzie said there in 2x05 as a general reaction to the bizarro-world where Josie and Landon(!) were the It Couple in school and about to sleep together, Alaric was banished, and so forth—not so unlike the 2nd Wish where Josie was the popular one, now that I think about it! In both cases in a world without Hope in their lives, Josie ends up the popular one and with a boyfriend she’s about to sleep with who doesn’t respect her (Connor cheating on her with Dana, Landon “lying” about being the one to kill Malivore, secretly killing himself for glimpses of Hope, and, finally, with his memories back, stringing Josie along about what he’d do and then getting back with Hope moments after dumping her).
But it almost feels like intensity with which Lizzie said that it was ‘dumb and selfish’ and combined with her longstanding reticence to acknowledge that she likes Hope in any manner means that she subconsciously remembered the other world(s) without Hope, too, and knew that Hope was necessary for them all to have complete lives. And given the other parallels in S2 to at least the 2nd Wish AU, perhaps the writers did even intend it that way! (That’s one of the things I’ve come to recognize as both a writer and a reader; as a writer “knowing” all the little details, you can sprinkle lots of fun parallels and connections through the work, but as a reader—or in our case here, viewers of the show—you don’t know all of those things and there’s sometimes so much story you miss out on those little details the first time through.)
This was so much fun to think and write about! Thanks so much for the eagle-eyed observation and the Ask! 🙏

Probably asked before but what's your favourite project Sekai Unit? And Character? If you don't have any just info dump about something you like about project Sekai
omg thx for the ask!! i havent gotten one is so long fndkdndk
anyways, my fav unit is leo/need and my fav character is lil sbibo. im also a big mmj fan w/ minori being my 2nd favorite thenhonami in 3rd, haruka in 4th, saki in 5th, kohane in-- miya girls 1-a is my favorite trio of all time cuz theyre all silly and so cute. errr ig i dont have any main ships other than minoharu bc i mainly love platonic friendships so im not a polyneed shipper unfortunately. theres also th fact that i hc shiho to be aroace cuz i have to project (hehe) onto my favorites all the damn time and ichika too actually- theres more basis to the ichika aroace headcanon cuz she talks to minori abt the fact that she has trouble singing love songs.
if i have to explain why i love l/n so much (i dont have to but i was given the right to infodump so :P) its because being together was and will always stay as their primary motivation. like, before they wanted to go pro or make their music move other's hearts, the reason they made the band was because they wanted to reunite and be friends with each other again. this is contrasted by the other units who have the same/similar goals and team up to achieve it (not to discredit their own relationships btw im just saying, also n25 is a different story with relatively unclear motivations esp at the start soo). anyways, despite being my least favorite in the group, i firmly believe that ichika absolutely deserves the right to be the leader mainly because shes the one with the deepest understanding of her bandmates and the determination to act upon that understanding. in the main story, saki already had this sort of disconnect from being hospitalized on top of generally being weak-willed which made it easier for her to give up on honami despite how much she didnt want to and honami and shiho are both too frozen in their character arcs to make a move without a push. and ichika is the one that initially pushes everyone. by the end of the 3rd rotation of focus events, all 4 have proven that they can push themselves just fine but ichika is still the one with the most intimate understanding of everyone. honami is actually not that far behind but is still learning to take the initiative, shiho only deeply understands honami (not that she cant do the same for the other 2 she and honami just *get* each other yknow), and saki, whooo boy saki im abt to talk abt her lol. all but saki's most recent event is about introspection and making realizations about herself which is very good for her but doesnt do much to fix that disconnect problem i mentioned earlier. enter: parallel harmonies (spoiler alert ig). after quite a bit of back and forth debate and even arguing between the 2, ichika is the one that ends up accepting and using saki's thoughts and feelings to let saki be in the lead in writing the songs so ultimately, ichika makes the bigger compromise out of the 2. this makes a lot of sense because saki is the one who is more certain about her identity and wants compared to ichika. shes not willing to sacrifice her values and what ideals mean the most to her which is pretty admirable. but the fact that she has more trouble collaborating with ichika than ichika has with her shows that not much has been done in fixing that disconnect saki had with her friends at the beginning of the game. this is not to say that saki doesnt genuinely care about l/n, it's just that she lacks the proper understanding to actually accomodate their needs and wants compared to the rest of them.
sooo i WAS going to segueway into talking abt how shiho was similar at firsr and how this contrasts with honami but i REALLY need to sleep rn sooo uh anon, i hope u enjoyed my hopefully comprehensible infodump abt leo/need lol. will prob talk abt shiho and honami on another post im just rlly tired rn..

hi, i (unfortunately) stumbled into the larry-sphere very recently w it going viral again after liam passed. i just found ur blog and you seem very level headed!! i agree that it seems more likely than not that l and h were never ‘together’ (even though there are some - nowhere near as many as people parade around, but still some - interactions between them that i side eye). there are two things that confuse me though post-2015 -
(1) louis’ 2017 video for miss you (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inZzcTXYowY), which includes noticeable inverted pink triangles (which in and of themselves have nothing to do with any hypothetical queer relationship, but they are queer symbols - and they don't just show up once, they're part of the closing shot) and a weird scribbled name at the end which reads like ‘steve’ but the ‘ev’ IS just unclear enough to look like it could be ‘style’ instead
(2) his 2020 video for walls, which parallels and syncs imagery (of him in a moving crowd of people) with harry’s 2019 video for lights up (this is from a larrie’s acc https://bluewinnerangel.tumblr.com/post/645465160750923776/tldr-louis-lined-up-walls-to-lights-up-watch and you can cross check with both vids). despite the similarities, if it was a shot that came up once i wouldn't question it, but given the fact that it appears consistently at the same/a second off timestamps as LU (and given it was released only a couple of months after LU) makes me sure it was deliberate. (i will say if it is referencing a relationship with harry it doesn't seem to be saying very positive things)
what his intentions were with both things are obv up to interpretation but i can’t write them off as coincidences. i was wondering what you made of them? to me it’s not implausible that louis was somehow throwing larries a bone (i don’t think he’s unaware that they make up a large part of his fanbase), but that does confuse me given all of his very vocal denials (though i'm sure he's also aware that larries have always just dismissed them). sorry for the wall of text!!!
hi, anon! i’m sry u got sucked into the nonsense lmao!! i fear that ur not going to like my answers, but here goes lol ..
1. as for the miss you video i think they simply chose a cool venue w/ a bunch of different neon signs & there just so happened to be pink triangles. i do not think that’s a very recognizable queer symbol to the gp/straight ppl. so they wld think nothing of it being there. maybe the bar had it there deliberately, maybe louis had it in the video deliberately, but as u said he cld just be hinting at his own sexuality, nothing to do w/ larry. & to me that’s a pretty clear “steve.” the V & 2nd E are very clear so i don’t think it means anything.
2. i’m sry but i rlly don’t think the videos match up as much as op is implying. yes, the shot of harry in a crowd of ppl is of course similar to louis in a crowd of ppl. & maybe the solo laying down shots. but they’re both portraying a similar emotion & they’re far from the first ppl to use that visual concept. & op said they cut out parts where there were no similarities. so to me this is just larrie cherry picking. confirmation bias is real & can easily be applied to situations like this. it’s very easy to find similarities or “clues” or “secret messages” when ur deliberately trying to connect 2 things or 2 ppl.
i personally don’t see any of this as louis “throwing larries a bone.” he has essentially been begging them to leave him alone for years. i know chalking things up to coincidence isn’t very satisfying, but sometimes that’s all it is. do u know how many things louis wld have to avoid doing/saying/wearing so as to not trigger the conspiracies? it wld be impossible to live normally. hell larries have INVERTED the colors on pics of h/l to make the blue/green theory work. shld louis make sure none of his clothes are blue or green even when inverted? at the end of the day harry’s still gna show up w/ a new gf & louis is still going to be a father who says he’s straight, ya know?
sry if these weren’t the answers ur looking for lol!! (ᗒᗣᗕ)՞

The parallels with Nazi Germany are astonishing
A 2nd Trump presidency brings little consolation
Here are similarities between America in 2024 and Germany in the 1920s-1930s:
The U.S. dollar, like the Deutsch mark of that era, is a monetary denomination that easily could falter -- implying greater inflation, an erosion in the purchasing power of savings, and steeper business costs -- especially for asset-laden businesses that depend on capitalization to function (precisely, by the way, the kind of businesses that give Trump voters the jobs they need).
The executive leadership will soon be keen on removing a large number of persons from U.S. soil. Unlike Germany, keen on removing Jews from its soil 100 years ago, the obvious target in America will be Central Americans. This kind of operation does not happen overnight. There will be meetings, plans, expansion of detention areas, and then presumably deportations. It's harrowing to think through this new reality. The comparison to Germany may be a bit extreme right now; but Trump / Vance seem especially preoccupied with this goal. It would be remiss to think that those on the ground involved in deportations would be necessarily humane or kind: a deportation by definition is forcible. It's not a far cry to imagine such an act descending into violence.
In Nazi Germany, business capitulated to government. Compare that to American history: in one guise or another, government has always served at the pleasure of the business community. Give me a country where that's not true -- where government predominates over business -- and I will give you a country in distress. But already, before a 2nd Trump presidency has even started, we can sense some measure of capitulation in the business community. Let me say this again: capitulation is the hallmark of an over-reaching government that has no place in America -- not now, not ever.
Donald Trump, like Adolf Hitler, is a riotous sack of anxieties -- racial, paternal, financial, intellectual. There is no operating motive in his decision-making or demeanor other than self-preservation. It's unclear how all these anxieties play out in a 2nd administration. But we have some tell-tale signs, and in general, they bode ill -- but especially for those trademark American liberties: freedom of assembly, freedom of the press, freedom of religion.
How we got here no longer matters. We got here. Now the big question is: who among us will summon the courage to stay in America and to confront this new reality with all its dark implications for our future?

Watched gamer and volpina. Those i think are the episodes where you really get what the show wants
Whatever it's thinking of in 5min
A lot of salt towards the writing goes towards what it Could be or Aimed for or Was, which honestly even in s1 the type of show was unclear. Ml falls within a ven diagram with Kim Possible, Sofia the First, Mlp, sailor moon and technically Pj Masks (a superhero lesson of the day story aimed at 4-7s) but it doesn't go towards any in particular while looking like all?
I'm not gonna debate what the show tries for or whatever, but here's a few things it has elements of
1. Lesson of the day (generally aimed towards 3-10s, specific shows may have larger or smaller targets) : the idea that there is a character who messes up at the start, and fixes it by the end. In Sofia the First and Mlp it's solved most often by having the plot of the episode be on Fixing That Problem and expanding on it. Eg, episodes on double booking yourself/ saying no/ managing responsibilities will have the story go on about how the character is struggling juggling it until around 2/3 of the ep they admit their problem and get help. This also leads into the 2nd type;
2. Superhero lesson/villain of the day: the 1st but these tend to have the problem be shorter. The villains are either used to parallel the (usually main) character who made a mistake or shove it in their face. MC had a problem of not working with team? Villain doesn't work with team either and gets defeated by teamwork when MC realises mistake. MC was bragging? Villain uses it against them. Generally meant to watch in any order except for a few episodes.
2.5: just villain of the day. They just beat things and it doesn't always mean somthing about lessons or whatever. That's also fine
Ml has both of these, cus not all episodes include a villain whose got a parallel/ punishment thing going on. In fact a lot don't.
3. Rom com. I don't know enough to expand very well but it's a thing with magical girl shows, having the main girl get all flustered and sometimes jealous over a boy and hence shenanigans. Often done for comedy. There are good and bad rom coms aimed at all ages.
4. A serious show with Serious Plot and Conspiracies. Think She Ra or Pjo, but less war? I'm on the bus I cant really think of a semi complicated magic show rn. I say this due to the whole basement mom/ sentomonster kids/ sort of rich ppl cult thing...mls type of Conspiracies feel aimed at 10-15, but really anything older works too.
Now show types 1-3 can and often will go together (magical girl shows) but the interesting thing with ml is that it has a formula for type 1 and 2 (and 2.5) and its main draw is type 3, the rom com. However the main reason I hesitate to put it as type 1 and 2 is
It's not great at it?
Ml does have the structure and often set up for a "lesson of the day" thing, which isn't always used (that's fine, there's that one mlp episode where apple jack is like "I learnt nothing cus I was right all along HA) but it doesn't always use it well ...
Lesson of the day shows are *generally* aimed at younger crowds, so they like having a "let's state the point of this episode" moment, like mlp with the letters. It's not necessary (see: bluey, which doesn't actually use this formula most episodes and instead chooses to have the characters be closer to role models or just good rep? But I digress) but usually they are very clear in what they want you to pick up, even Sofia the First tends to have someone talk to the character who did wrong to point out what was bad and sometimes how to fix it. Ml is... kind of unclear
Why? Let's go with gamer, mentioned earlier. If we assume ml is going for a Lesson Of the Day with this episode, there is the Canon Lesson, and the Clearer Lesson. Canon is what they gave us, and clearer is what it could have been.
Canon lesson: don't push someone out of something they worked hard for just for personal selfish reasons. The general idea is that marinette, by beating max, took him out of a tournament he trained hard for. The reason this is bad is because she did it for Wrong Reason: playing with Adrien.
Why i think its what canon wants us to think: both alya and tikki tell her it's not a good thing to do (Ignoring that alya has other instances of being perfecting fine sabotaging someone for maris crush, let's assume this time it's cus max poses no "threat" to the ship and is a friend) the episode ends with mari trying to give up her spot to max, but instead Adrien does so she can't play with Adrien regardless.(seriously she would have had to not play w Adrien even if max took her spot)
Flaws: Adrien also beat max???? And yet max only gets really mad at marinette. (Removing the crush factor, objectively:) yes she was a last minute entry, yes her dance was kind of boastful, but she won entirely through her own skill and practice too. Had she entered the competition before Adrien was a confirmed teammate there would be no lesson to learn!!!
Seriously, max is not wronged here? Yes it sucks that you missed out a chance for something you really wanted. Sucks to suck dude. If we had not been informed by way of somehow everyone in the class knowing it's his Thing, he would just be a sore loser.
Marinettes only crime here is having a Bad Motive. But she does no direct Bad Action as a result of that motive, like, say, cheating to get her place. She doesn't have a perfect motive but technically " want to compete in big tournament" isn't either, it's not like he was going to do it for charity or whatever. Sure maybe she was the main target since he was the most recent, he was already miffed after Adrien beat him, so marinette booting him out was just the last straw, but it's unclear
Tldr of that rant: the main flaw is that not only does marinette technically not do a Bad Action to learn from, max choosing to Only get mad at her is. Bad. After she transforms the target then become anyone so it's forgiven a bit but still...
Anyways I need another post for this
My little brothers watching ml cus 4 seasons are on Netflix and like as of s1
These twos biggest crimes are being 14.
Also wow the animation is kind of wonky

Names, Legends and Archetypes
Since it’s theories day, I’ll write another long-awaiting post.
So far names seem to be important/have meaning.
- Faroe - as was noted here, she’s named after the Isle of Sheep. This made me think about her role as ‘sacrificial lamb’: while she had to die, she still has an immense impact on Arthur and, thus, everything that’s goin on. The parellel with Addison only added to this impression.
- Kellin told about his name himself
- John Doe as a name speaks for itself and has so many connotations within the plot that I won’t even dig into this, there’s going to be a wall of text and this post isn’t about it. In short, I see it as a blank slate for the piece of entity to begin his journey to becoming someone of his own design. Plus, John seems to have a fixation on names.
- Someone here (forgive me I didn’t reblog and can’t find the post now) noticed Andrew Larson’s initials coincide with Arthur Lester’s - plot mirrors and parallels, we get it. I wonder if Jack Larson’s name has any meaning to it as well.
- There’s also Bella and I have a feeling it’s just the first name to hop into one’s mind to define some not-very-important female figure - she’s a woman, women are associated with beauty, let it be “Bella”. Maybe I’m wrong, it’s just a feeling.
And now we’re getting to the main star - Arthur.
First I’ll have to remind about one short episode 20 part when Kayne (who seems to be my main starting point for all the theories since he’s the only one who seems to actually know something) called Hastur “once and future king”.
This scratched my ears when I heard it because I never encountered the King in Yellow being referred this way before. This title exists, but it isn’t his.
Kayne MIGHT have been saying this just for the drama, this is always an option.
Except.
The actual “once and future king”’s name is Arthur Pendragon from british legends.
Soooooooo.
I like the idea that Lester and John form “jester” and those two are basically a Jester archetype in this story, mocking and challenging the King, being insightful and gaining wisdom, never bowing to the challenges they face, - but I get this is rather stretched.
But I also know there are some interesting theories circulating.
For instance, I like the idea that the King in Yellow started as a human - this would explain why John’s called “Hastur’s heart” - I mean why an eldritch entity would need a “heart” in the first place? Besides, John seems to recall being human some time in his past, although this is unclear, but it ties well with the rest. Contrary to his own words, he didn’t learn everything from Arthur or their time together: e.g., it was John’s own initiative to stop by the car and go search for the child, and they’ve been together for less than a day by then. No one changes this fast, so I believe John has always had compassion in him - it’s another question of what to consider “humanity” and what not, but I guess within the podcast it would be considered as such, these words are often used there as synonims semantically.
So John may be Hastur’s human heart.
And the King might have been human some long time ago.
So there may either be timey-wimey and becoming the King is actually Arthur’s fate - time makes a full circle, seems fitting to “once and future king” title.
Or this is an indication of the rivalry, opposition of the two: the false King and the true future one, the Hero (which is another archetype and Arthur is striving to fit into it the whole series).
I like the 2nd option more, especially since the narration keeps mocking Arthur for his vanity time and again (reciting Invictus and giving up his principles a few episodes later, really now), so he’s never actually a Hero, he’s unfit for the title to begin with, but it’s exactly what makes this all interesting.
Or maybe there are other explanations (or I’m reading to much into things as usual).
The discussions are very welcome!

Castlevania kinda had a pacing problem
spoilers for all of Netflix’s Castlevania. I haven’t seen much analysis for the show on tumblr, im honestly curious if discussions I had with irl friends mirror what fandom talks about
tldr: Castlevania seems inconsistently paced from season to season, and within season as well, leads to a lot of characters motivations feeling unclear so characters repeatedly explain why they are doing something while they’re doing it
overview of the seasons:
S1 I know somewhat of a test for Netflix but it has good main trio character establishment and sets the scale of the conflict
s2: pretty complete emotional arc for most characters and resolves the plot of killing Dracula while setting up additional characters to continue the story. Isaac, Hector, Carmilla all established with the audience as characters whose story would continue
honestly I would bet this is the most popular season
S3: s2 did a bit of worldbuilding, but this season really fleshed out the world with both a wide range of locations and exploring the question of “what now, Dracula is dead but vampires and night creatures remain”.
There were basically 4 plot threads: 1) Sypha/Trevor investigating the cult & Saint Germain; 2) Hector & Carmilla (also introducing Lenore, Striga, Morana); 3) Isaac’s journey of revenge & self discovery; 4) Alucard sits around the castle and is betrayed.
overall characters roughly feel like they are in the same place if not worse. A big criticism I saw at the time, which hold up after rewatching this before s4 is nothing felt resolved for the main characters
I would say this season is where the pacing issues start to become apparent, juggling 4 plot threads that lack a central theme or even mutual character connection. If there was a central theme it would be “humans are awful to each other”. The Judge doing Hot Fuzz style murders, The Wizard in the tower, Sumi & Taka
S4: it starts with the same 4 plot threads, though upfront it is made clear that the plot theme is “people are trying to resurrect Dracula”, and the progression of the plot works to resolve unrelated plot threads until the main trio reunites for the boss fights. To me and my friends watching it was obvious that the show would reunite the main trio, the question was how and how far into the run time.
Season 4 is why I’m writing this essay, for the past 2 days I’ve been like, yeah that character sure explained their motives repeatedly maybe with some philosophical discussion, but it’s just such a weird place considering where they were in s3
Alucard’s arc:
Where he was left in season 3, it was after killing people he had trusted in self defense and impaling their corpses. It was clearly meant to parallel Dracula’s dislike of humanity. However overall his character lacked a proactive motivating force.
Honestly the most interesting thing I found in s3 was Alucard clearly misses Sypha and Trevor, however they don’t miss him or refer to him
One reason Sumi & Taka betray Alucard is for the secrets and power of Castlevania. After inviting the village including St Germain who Alucard was warned of into the Castle, Alucard makes 0 effort to secure anything, not even his personal childhood room. Guess he really learned nothing
Discussing St Germain, I think it’s funny that they had a several minute flashback sequence for his lost girlfriend (who doesn’t have a name or a voice actor), to remind the viewer of who he is, and to justify how he’s suddenly back and down for murder.
In s4 there is the call to help the village, and the walk back to the castle is a montage of Alucard opening up to Greta and becoming friendly literally overnight. He laughs off the impaling, and basically all of the darker things he went through in season 3, which has me asking what was the point of his season 3 arc then?
Honestly writing this I realize the biggest parallel he has with Dracula is the call to action from a bold woman with a dramatic entrance speech which then leads to a romance
Isaac’s arc:
in s3, with all the other themes of “humanity sucks” I was always unsure if the townspeople were meant to appear irrational while attacking a larger force instead of letting him pass through an leave, or him not caring about how he’s provoking them is meant to show his insanity
ive seen the discussion elsewhere, curious about the Discourse here
is s4 Isaac has the whole monologue about how he now has agency but him gaining that agency was his s3 arc. In s4 he’s already at the point of accepting it. By the end of s4 he’s one of those who comes the furthest from his first character appearance to his last.
s4e5 where of Isaac attacking Carmilla in Isaac’s 2nd appearance had him resolving like 4 plot threads at once (Carmilla, Striga& Morana, Hector, and Isaac himself).
but i do wonder if Trevor, Sypha, or Alucard even know any of these people exist. I think not
I was honestly confused if I missed a scene from his dialogue about building something and what is inherent nature, to “My plan has evolved, my plan is now conquest” because he only conquests the one castle and the rest is left unclear
Upon rewatch the connection there is “killing [the wizard] felt just ... I liked that feeling”, so the show says that Isaac in the end attacked Carmilla for the sake of justice and not revenge.
Isaac in his last conversation expresses the theme of s4 “build something new on these old bones, where people can live for the future”
however, his arc honestly feel scenes were cut, and then dialogue was written around it. He’s the only living character who doesn’t show up in the epilogue and the sentient night creature “what if I could empty hell” dialogue was some of the most interesting worldbuilding. Night creatures with sentience and possibility of regaining memories!!!!
The Council of Sisters & Hector’s arc:
oh I’ve already seen s4 discourse about Lenore/Hector while searching for character analysis, a chunk of it seems to be rationalizing the absolute difference between how s3 ended with these characters and s4. It was extremely confusing for me and my friends; wondering if 1) was Hector showing more emotional intelligence than before and putting on a facade to cover up hatred? Nope 2) did more time pass than 6 weeks for there to be some kind stockholm syndrome? No, Hector seems fine to let Lenore kill herself
The slave control ring: played up in the climax of s3 and easily solved s4. s3 Lenore says if he tries to harm them, flee, or take it off it would cause crippling pain, in s4 Hector just easily cuts off his own finger.
for a control ring that they take time to show a version being on the Rebus, it doesn’t do much controlling of Hector
also guess the definition of “do harm” just refers to direct action
Lenore in s4: has no purpose in conquest, has that useless remarked on by multiple characters, is imprisoned, then kills herself after a genre aware philosophical discussion. This essay is long enough, but what the fuck happened to this character who ended s3 clearly physically and sexually abusive? Seriously this was one of the biggest writing changes to the point where she was treating Hector as an equal. Compare her last words in s3 “shh the real people [vampires] are talking”. The change in the relationship is actually something I would have taken being shown, or atleast told of what exactly caused this change other than the vague “you adopted him”
Striga&Morana get the best arc of the Council. 3 scenes: the tent argument, Daybreak armor fight & argument resolution, declaration of feelings and turning away. You could argue Castlevania is plot to be connective tissue between fight scenes, but for all the dialogue about human resistance in different seasons it was nice to see it. Overall the scenes were short but had a lot of showing what their relationship is not just telling,
unlike Carmilla. For as much hyping up as they did with her, and as much power as she had, she only appeared in 2 episodes and no other group except Isaac knew about her military conquest.
the map scene where she states her motive for conquest of wanting to take things from old men is the key example of how characterization became tell not show. How interesting was that monologue compared to the past seasons flashback to her murmuring the old vampire lord, or all her repeated insults of men/man-children that shows how she judges people??
That monologue had to carry the weight of justifying the Sisterhood bonds falling apart as well as why her motivation changed from building a human pen from Styria to Braila to world conquest. I think it did so poorly
Sypha & Trevor
really Sypha & Trevor have the main plot in the show. I checked and post season 1 the only episode they don’t appear in is s4e6, which is entirely devoted to the Isaac, Hector, and Council of Sisterhood arc. Their partnership and adventures are the main plot of the show.
Its easy to see what Trevor’s arc was over the show: coming to peace with the deaths of his family, taking up the mantle of being a Belmont, and starting a new family with Sypha.
With Sypha I actually had to scroll through tv tropes for what is her character arc, and I guess hers is disillusionment from adventure and life outside the speakers? My friends joke that Sypha’s magic is what the plot demands to look cool in a fight, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Tangent: the ending of their arc was easy to guess: as soon as Trevor went to fight the final boss alone I literally said “oh i bet Sypha’s pregnant, Trevor’s doing a heroic sacrifice, theyll use the unexplained magical dagger mcguffin, and 60/40 odds that he goes through an infinite corridor to outright come back vs just the implication he might come back”
I guess my final thought of the show, was overall the SUPER Final Boss got my by surprise. It was a good twist I enjoyed. Not that Death appeared, I had guessed that from the heavy foreshadowing, but I was surprised by who it was, because I had thought I thought the characters involved feeling shoehorned into the plot was just more bad writing. The Alchemist who put St Germain on the path or murder for no discernible motive for helping? Sure gotta move the plot along. New Dracula court member Varney who has a whole introduction with almost every character he meets and banter about his smell? Sure thats basically how all characters talk with a snarky and acerbic voice.
#Castlevania#castlevania spoilers#castlevania meta#castlevania season four#overall i enjoyed the show#id love to find some discussion of the show#this wound up being more of a recap than a persuasive essay#but i think my tldr thesis statement stands

Keeping notes on the situation across Rider Time
The two Rider Time miniseries are interconnected, although more than that is hard to say at the moment. I'm just going to keep some notes and update as more of the series comes out, starting with the first episode. The two stories presumably aren't happening in parallel, given the 7 characters shared across the two series, but something else might be going on.
First of all Zi-O Vs Decade: The 7 Zi-O's.
So far we've met 3 distinct groups, which appear to different schools attended by the various Tokiwa Sougos,
First we have Hikarigamori, attended by the original Zi-O cast, or rather their NEXT TIME versions. Tokiwa Sougo, Myokoin "Geiz" Keito, Ora and Heure are all there, meaning the school was taken at latest in early 2019. Also at the school is teacher Swartz, and Tsukuyomi Alpina has left the school seemingly looking for help. Zi-O, Geiz and Tsukuyomi all have their powers, at least their basic forms, whether or not Geiz still has his memories of the old timeline is unclear to me. Ora has a feelings for Geiz, which are unrequited, Heure has the for Sougo, whose position is unclear. Wherever the school is, there are only a few buildings around, separated by vast distances, and brutal Inves throughout the world will kill anyone outside in moments.
At another school, Hanazono we have a second Tokiwa Sougo, who I've defined as "Casual Sougo", who is also Kamen Rider Zi-O, and the only one so far seen to have a Legend Ridewatch, specifically OOO. Also with him is Kudo Misa, a girl with whom he has, if not a romantic relationship, at least a comfortable flirtation with.
A third school, Misawa, not yet seen, brings us the third Tokiwa Sougo, who I've defined as "Cool Sougo", who is also Kamen Rider Zi-O.
2nd, Decade Vs Zi-O: Decade Mansion's Death Game
Here we have a group of 9 individuals, who suddenly find themselves in a house, the only structure in an island that is in the middle of nowhere. Here is our 4th Tokiwa Sougo, who I've dubbed "Sporty Sougo" who has not yet been seen to be Kamen Rider Zi-O, alongside Onodera Yusuke, Swartz (who here seems to be a politician or attorney), Ora (who seems to be wealthy), Heure (just wearing casual clothes), Kudo Misa (Wearing Seifuku, unlike the one in the other series), as well as a Yakuza, a Housewife, and an Old Man clutching a bag full of money.
They have been gathered apparently by the mysterious masked jester in blue, who challenges them in the King Game. The so far two rounds have happened, each giving 10 minutes to find an item and bring it back to the main room. In the first round the Yakuza refuses to play, while Misa found an extra item she gave to the old man, in the second Misa did the same and the housewife lost.
Both losers so far have been executed by Another Ryuki, draining the life force from the loser and killing them. The Old Man has also been killed, probably using an axe prominently displayed in the main room. Kadoya Tsukasa has now arrived at the mansion.
Will update this if more information comes out.

2/? Same anon that complimented your blog. To clarify, what's important about this blog to me is that while I love Fire Emblem as a series, I have been burned out by the discourse surrounding the community. I loved playing Fates when it first came out, but before coming across your blog I hadn't touched it since. Not because I grew to hate it, but because I had encountered so much vitriol towards it that I feared that I would grow to hate it too if I replayed.
3/? I am halfway through playing Birthright, and I can safely say that that is not the case. Your posts highlighting the parallels in the 1st Gen characters and 2nd Gen characters, as well as your post discussing the map design/worldbuilding of Fates was especially interesting to me, as they made me realize and appreciate things about Fates story and world that I never thought of before.
4/? As well as highlight one of the things that I felt was missing in Three Houses map designs/worldbuilding. While I do love Three Houses as well, I did find some things in the story to be either lackluster or could've been handled much better. I wasn't sure what the story was trying to say in regards in to Edelgard, even after I finished playing all the routes for the first time.
5/? The dev interview made it clear that she is a main villain, and I think that makes the most sense for the story (though try telling that to some of her fans), but I just feel like the fact that I had to read a dev interview in order to understand what the story was trying to say about one of it's central characters shows that there were some flaws to how the narrative was told that could have been fixed.
I’m super glad you’re having a great time playing through Fates again. Hell, even with all the neat writing posts I make, I’m still taking time to really explore the ins and outs of the game. For example, 4 years ago, I would never think of maps as anything but the literal; that is “it’s just the next set of squares I move characters in to complete the goal”.
But now (especially from learning about and watching gameplay of other games, most notably the Tellius games and Genealogy) I realize maps are much more than boards to move your units on; they are locations that matter, and were designed to fit in with the geography and aesthetic of the place you’re in. Like, I never knew that Castle Krakenburg had a bunch of dead trees growing in it as an aesthetic detail until I looked around the map in chapter 2. Same with looking around in chapter 5 and seeing just how much of the plaza was destroyed.
It’s things like that which I like to bring notice too. The little things that build up the foundation of the game. The background that compliments the foreground. It helps that Fates isn’t subtle about what it wants its themes to be or what the characters are meant to be seen as, so the neat details are more appreciated when discovered.
Three Houses, while I also love the game a lot, relies a lot on subtlety and uncovering truths. While those things themselves are appealing as well, it has the unfortunate side effect of resulting in players not agreeing on things or being confused by what’s supposed to be what. Not helped by the fact that there’s a split route system and that the devs outright made the game expecting people to only play it once or twice. So while having that interview was a godsend in having definitive confirmation on what’s what, the fact that we had to have an interview at all kind of screams “Players need to know what you wrote about and your intent”, especially since important offscreen things like Holst and Glenn were brought up frequently in that interview as well.
Ultimately though, it’s a thing that varies from person to person. I’m the type of writer/reader that prefers a story’s themes be clear, engaging and developed with the innermost details being neat discoveries and “Oh wow, that’s cool!” moments rather than a story that’s unclear on themes and relies solely on feeding the reader details and lore and telling them to interpret it how they want. Everyone experiences media differently, this blog is just how I express my particular experience. I’m glad you’ve given me this much feedback, it’s really appreciated!

Left photo is left hand right photo is right hand
**This is a reading for the lines on the wrists**
My left wrist has 3 lines, first is intact but curved the second is broken and the third is in tact all the way across as well,
My right wrist has 4 lines: but it’s confusing: the first line is curved and all the way across the third is short and cut off the fourth looks like it resumes past the third but is slightly broken off
The 1st line is more important and telling than the rest because it indicates any health issues. If it appears unbroken and deeply defined, one can expect to maintain their strength and be in good overall bodily health. If it’s unclear or broken and weakly defined, the person is regarded as careless and weak. In terms of years, the first bracelet line signifies the person is expected to live to be at least 23-28 years old.
As to health issues, line one differs for men and women. For women- if the line is broken or curves up towards the base of their palm, they may experience gynecological issues, including problems conceiving or giving birth. For men- if the line is broken or curves up towards the base of their palm it means they may have urinary or prostate issues, as well as possible reproductive issues.✨ ( I personally have had problems conceiving, I did have a gynological problem in 2016)
The 2nd wrist line is used to measure the individuals expectations of wealth. If the line is straight, unbroken, and clearly defined, the person can look forward to enjoying both comfortable prosperity and happiness. In terms of years, the second line signifies that one is expected to live at least 46-56 years of life. 💕(on my left wrist the line breaks off early but then regains back to a solid line fallowing after maybe a increase I was waiting for) (on my right wrist it looks to be starting off heavy and slowly fading (nervous if my job just starts decreasing one day maybe it’s because I’ll be getting too old for it? Or massage therapy? or maybe I even retire from most of it)
The 3rd bracelet line, if you have one, reveals what kind of influence, fame, or power you’ll have in life. If the line is strong and unbroken, the individual is likely destined to be very influential in their life. They will stand out and will not be forgotten. In terms of years, the third line signifies that one is expected to live at least 69-84 years. 🌿( there was a third straight across on my left wrist (sadly I could have been in a band and traveling) I did not choose to go that path, rip, on the right wrist I have one that has started later (maybe I will be remembered for my career) which I want to have my own herbal witchy shop, maybe as well as massage therapy/ aromatherapy practices.
The 4th line is the rarest one of all, not many people have this one on their wrist. It runs parallel to the 3rd line and is viewed as complimentary to it. If you are one of the lucky few who have such a line it means that the fame and influence aspects associated with the third line are strengthened and fortified even further. In terms of years, the fourth line signifies that one is expected to live to more than 84 years old. ‼️ ( on my left wrist there is no fourth line, on my right wrist there is a fourth line it starts off a bit late and maybe it’s indicating a almost death but then I live until I die, I’m nervous of thinking if that would be possible.. it seems to split at the end not sure what that means quite yet.
