honestly I see where you're coming from with jmart. Not as much with the character development- I personally feel like the characters were developed pretty smoothly. I think RQ was sort of intentionally starting martin with that "kinnie bait" nervous guy thing. Most characters like that tend to be liked by other characters, but Jon hates him through a good chunk of S1 (likely because he has said personality traits.) I think the TMA fandom grossly mischaracterizes him- (which to be completely fair was spurred on by RQ by not fully commiting to Martin's development.)
It's sort of like a Romeo and Juliet thing. People act like it's some hot take to say that their relationship wasn't great when obviously it wasn't great, it ended in a double suicide (and in jmart's case, a murder-suicide.) I personally am a huge fan of abusive characters, especially mutually abusive as jmart sort of is. I think martin certainly has a lot of potential as a concept but RQ fumbled the ball in S5. I'd say they do certainly have a shot at fixing it in TMP, but that could be wishful thinking. Honestly as someone with NPD who loves to project cluster B's onto characters I like, jmart is a PRIME example of an NPD/BPD relationship. Martin does swing wildly back and forth on a lot of things and feelings and honestly I think part of that was intentional- I don't think he's actually meant to have a solid idea about what he wants in S5. which is pretty uncommon to see in almost any narrative- characters are "supposed" to have clear motivations, and when they don't it comes off as shitty development.
anyway. sorry for ranting in your inbox lmao
i do think that yeah sometimes martin could lend himself towards being an interesting character, and i do really like your kinda interpretation of him, but for me like things are too wishy-washy with his motivations and ideas that it's like who the hell even is this guy 🥀 i think that rq are good writers even with all their like controversies and all that which is why ughhh i just love the statements, but also like they're so clearly most comfortable with horror writing that any idea of a healthy, non-abusive jmart just feels forced from the fandom because it's just not like that at all, but also it feels a little forced from the writers to pander to these fans imo but that's less relevant. sorry im rambling here im not really sure what i was trying to say

HEWWO EVERYBODY my mom has tasked me with coming up with horror movies to watch in October but specifically ones that would appeal to people who aren't horror fans (like her). Sci-fi horror that leans more on the sci-fi than horror are great picks for her, as she's a huge sci-fi nerd.
So far I remember already showing her/ she's already seen:
A Quiet Place, Get out, both Happy Dead Day movies (which she enjoyed!), They Live, Alien, Aliens, John Jarpenter's That Thang (another fav of hers and like. everybody else's tbh), Re-animator (which she did NOT enjoy- a little too gross for her which i know she loves that thang but i think it's because the body horror is SO wild it looks back around to being almost removed from being a 'body'), House (the american semi-comedy one, not Hausu the japanese classic), The Ring (both versions i think?)
What I have potentially on the list:
Let the right one in, All three of the main evil dead movies (i think she'd get a kick out of them- if gore/violence is silly enough she usually is okay with it [she loves the deadpool movies for example], The Haunting 1963, Killer Clowns From Outer Space
What would be some good ones to add? What are some of your go to "horror movies for people that don't like horror" films?
(im also very open to movies that are more spooky/spoopy than actual horror movies!)

if you were making a syllabus for a comics class, besides the obvious (homestuck, hark a vagrant, a comic from KC green, a comic from ONE), what comics would you say best represent webcomics as a medium/ are needed to represent the medium? I always liked your hitmen for destiny rec and was wondering if you knew anything else like that
if we're talking about representations of the format rather than just examples of good comics, i think the choices would be really different. for one thing i would cut hark a vagrant and kc green comics since, while both good, they "operate" more or less the same as print comics and utilize the internet primarily as a means of distribution rather than incorporating it into the creation process (beyond making colors websafe, when applicable)
as a lowbrow example, jerkcity (or whatever its called now) is a purely web-based creation. the scripts are private chats dumped into microsoft comic chat and generated from pre-made software assets. im not a fan personally, but there are xkcd comics that make conscious use of the web-medium/infinite canvas to create comics that can literally only exist in a web format (homestuck is the same, but on a massive scale which would make it hard to teach in this scenario). bouletcorp (english website dead? huge loss imo) featured quite a few comics that took advantage of readers needing to scroll in order to obtain more information. e.m. carroll's horror works capitalized on the use of scroll and click to induce tension in the reader. dinosaur comics managing to squeeze decades of comedic juice out of clip art dinosaurs arranged in the same layout every day.
i feel like a class about webcomics should be about the comics that differentiate it from the print medium, if that makes sense. manhua would also fit into this but i would choose cutbu as the example bc i love cutbu comics lol. they came back last year just so everyone knows. with a comic called 28th century superfan

Hard Core Drugs is so good, I'm really enjoying reading it so far!!
I would be interested in hearing about your creative process, like if any other comics influenced you or how you developed your style. If you would like to share, that is! No pressure :-)
oh im so glad!! it makes me so happy that you enjoy it! and sure! letsgooooo
my favorite comic artists are:
jiro matsumoto (keep on vibrating, uncivilized planet, velveteen and mandala)
ebine yamaji (free soul, love my life)
keiko takemiya (song of wind and trees)
suehiro maruo (mr. arashi's amazing freak show)
akimi yoshida (banana fish)
miho obana (kodocha)
naoko takeuchi (sailor moon)
kazuo umezu (reptilia, drifting classroom)
i am also very influenced by older movies because im a huge movie fan! i collect video tapes, especially of exploitation films
i think a lot of the "style thing" just comes from drawing a whole lot and naturally finding your favorite ways and most effective shorthands for features/objects/whatever. like me, i really love simple-looking cartoons, horror, and older shoujo comics. of course i wish i could draw like miura, but i cant! lol
the most important thing i think i have learned about drawing comics is that thinking about the way the image will "read" is like vitally important. even if maybe it isn't the most realistic way to draw something, or i have to sacrifice certain details i wanted to draw in, i will pick 100 percent of the time the version of my drawing that reads better and easier when i look at the page as a whole. if that makes sense? ♥️ it is probably not noticeable to anyone but me, but for example, i will switch which side of joey's mouth his scar is on depending on what looks better to me.
i think maybe other people plan better than i do, because all i do is write a pages worth of script at a time, think about what i want to be in each panel and then layout the boxes in a way that seems appropriate to me. i sketch, then i do the lettering, and then i ink. i hate lettering!!! but i don't like how the comics look if i don't handwrite the words, so i suffer. it's embarrassing but doing the lettering takes me literally an hour usually lol. i actually had to take after school classes as a kid to correct my pen grip, because i held it like a caveman and people wanted me to not do that haha

tyyy for redesigning catnap and dogday, i swear mascot horror tends to have difficulty staying in the era theyr'e trying to convey? poppy looks like a porcelain doll but has a voice box? the animatronics in fnaf are made in the 80-90s but dont have that classic smooth face alot of those robots had.
im not sure if im describing it well but the closest i can find is the bear from showbiz pizzaplace
Tumblr media
i am a big fan of fnaf animatronic designs that give them a plastic face. my favorite example is jr’s, really fucking terrifying but so cool and showbiz-esque.
for catnap and dogday i don’t think my designs were a huge improvement but better than the canon ones if that makes sense. the dark eyes just. would not happen realistically you know? or the bright colors and smooth lineart and general aesthetic is much more 2010s to me like. teen titans go. i tried to go for a carebear / wuzzles look or something. i’d like to see a mascot horror where it’s of it’s era like it looks. authentic. i know it’s hard like really hard but i would sitll like to see it
silly doodle for you

🌈 before you request ⭐
requests are ; closed
Tumblr media
if you're wanting to request something from me, like a stimboard, userbox / userboxes, or something else like that, please read this first!
Tumblr media
its very unlikely that i will actually accept a request, i struggle with expectations so requests make me very anxious! if i dont do your request, i will likely just delete your ask and not say anything about it, its not personal i promise
Tumblr media
if you want to request me here's how ;
send an ask!!!
you dont have to use them, but tonetags help
specify what you're wanting
if you want a specific image please include it
somewhere in your ask include this star emoji ;⭐
example ; "I was wondering if you could make me a stimboard themed on wobbledogs! /nf /gen its a video game ⭐"
why the star emoji? its pretty much just so i know you read this, its not entirely necessary but it makes me feel more comfortable knowing you actually took the time to read my 'before you request' before requesting something
Tumblr media
TLDR (to long didnt read) ; be highly specific, and dont expect me to 100% do your request
dividers used ;✨
list of what i wont do ;
🩷 for the most part i wont do ship themed things, unless i know the fandom and characters (ship as in character x character)
🩷 anything NFSW i will not do, i will block you
🩷 anything based off of real people, other than like youtubers ig
Tumblr media
list of things im comfy making stuff for under the cut ↓
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
stuff i make ;
stimboards
userboxes
maybe pfp's
~~~~~
fandoms / themes ;
(im cool with making stuff for pretty much any fandom, these are just the ones im in and most comfortable with)
object shows
dandys world
fnaf (five nights at freddys)
my little pony (not the newer ones)
littlest pet shop
minecraft
stuffed animals
dinosaurs
video games
any animals
Tumblr media
quick disclaimer, i am a huge fan of horror games, but since this blog is meant to be a safe space, i will mostly avoid doing anything scary
i will on occasion post horror related things, but they will always be below a cut, and tagged properly, so you dont have to worry about scrolling through and seeing something scary
Besides art, what other hobbies/interest do you have? For example, some of my interests include:
1. True crime (I’m actually learning to profile like how the FBI does in my free time, just more realistic than what you’d see on tv, it’s actually really easy to profile someone once you know what to look for too!)
2. Animals(especially snakes and sharks!)
3. The band Fall Out Boy (a lot of my friends wonder why I love them so much, they helped me through a tough time and their music just speaks to me)
4. Mushrooms and plants
5. Gaming(huge fan of farming and/or fantasy RPGs like stardew, Pokémon and rune factory, speaking of which Amelia’s design and personality reminds me a lot of Missasagi and Beatrice from RF5!)
I ask because I find you and your art amazing and interesting, and finding out fun stuff about artists you like is a fun way to engage and connect with them! Have a lovely day/evening/whatever time it is for you!
Hi hi!
Thats awesome! I also love True Crime!
And while I do love to draw!
I actually love to sing, cook breakfast sandwiches and play video games!
Believe it or not but I have dreamed about singing Opera but its hard! 😅 but i sing almost every song and genre! Heck! Ill sing country!
I love making breakfast sandwiches with my husband, it is a good feeling of staying home with a delicious breakfast and even having waffles(i love food!)
Who doesn’t love to play video games? I grew up with video games especially Final Fantasy games!(mainly FF14) i love all kinds even Horror! But im too afraid to play it XDXD
Im willing to take some answers! Thank you kindly for your kindness and understanding!💕♥️💕
Bonus: I love movies! Especially oldies like like Charlie Chaplin!
Fave genre of video games?
Tumblr media
Im a HUGE fan of horror games, especially ones with really good atmosphere and story, BONUS points if its a mascot horror game with a retro style! [Some examples i can think of are; Shipwrecked 64, Outlast, Buddy Sim 1984, ect]
BUT I also love multiplayer games, it doesn't specifically HAVE to follow the horror genre, but i find myself enjoying those ones a lot more! [recently ive been really into Lethal Company, Content Warning, Escape the Backrooms]
right now, I gotta say my favorite game is Shipwrecked 64
Just finished watching The Sea Beast on Netflix and WOW
Im not gonna do a whole movie-review (future geode here.... i kinda did. a short-ish version, but still. oops) type thing but i wanna share some of my thoughts because that was incredible!!! Im also gonna try to not spoil too much, but spoiler warnings just in case!
It did kinda remind me of a few movies thrown together, namely Moana, How To Train Your Dragon, and Nimona, but at the same time it was completely unique from all three of those. The art style was beautiful, the lighting in some scenes was absolutely stunning, but for some reason I really didnt like the design of Red lmao. Idk something about it was just too.... plain? I guess? It just looked like your average fish with a more mammal-like head. And I wasnt a huge fan of the single color either. Idk it just felt kinda lacking in comparison to the other creatures shown. But thats about the only thing I didnt like about it
I guess the plot was a bit predictable, but it felt so real and it was built in such a way that the viewer was discovering major plot points along with the characters and even if I could guess what was going to happen next there was always an additional detail that had me in awe. And the overall moral was such an important thing to address and Im so glad it went the way it did. Truly an incredible example of the immorality of humanity and the greed and desire for control of those in power, and it was not at all what I was expecting going into it. I fully thought it was gonna be a thalassophobia horror movie, and while some scenes portrayed that incredibly well, I was pleasantly surprised by the actual path it followed.
AND I HAVENT EVEN TALKED ABOUT THE CHARACTERS YET AUGH. First of all, FOUND FAMILY MY BELOVED <3333333 we love the Ballister-type character development that Jacob went through, and his and Maisie's relationship really reminded me of Bal and Nimona. They are just so so precious. That scene at the end almost had me in tears bro i cant.
I also just loved the overall diversity in characters??? Like??? I couldn't find a single majority group out of everyone aside from the ruling family which were all white, able-bodied people (which is another major social issue to address, ily writers) and no two people looked the same, even the civilians that showed up for two frames. We love to see it.
And some of the details they wrote in! So many aspects that you wouldn't think twice about that just made it all the more realistic! Like the scene with Jacob with the medic where he starts walking around mid-getting stitches and the medic just has to follow him around? Incredible. Hilarious. So immersive. There were so many more examples, but thats just the main one that came to mind.
Anyway! Go give it a watch if you have Netflix! (or pirate it- pun intended-, Netflix fucking sucks)
i watch a lot of youtube because i do not like having nothing on in the background lest i consume myself with my own thoughts. one of my most watched genres is fashion youtube. i've been watching fashion youtube since highschool, back in 2016-2017. and from watching all those yearly trends, thrift flips, and hauls, i've come to the conclusion that if i ever want to do youtube, i would not start until ive got a dayjob and like... robust self-esteem. age 27 AT LEAST.
so let me take you through my thought process. the queen of fashion youtube at the time was Ashley bestdressed. she did thrift hauls, thrift flips, outift inspos, the whole shebang. i think she was college - fresh graduate age when her channel was at peak popularity? and in 2020 she just dipped. disappeared. she makes content for ig only now and is working for many major fashion houses (good for her!). she vanished for a variety of reasons, in her videos she has always talked about her mental health struggles, having a stalker so she had to move a couple times during covid nonetheless, and honestly having the worst fanbase. i was on bestdressed reddit and discord at the time, these fans were horrible.
now, the most popular girlies on fashion youtube are kathleen illustrated, beepworld, mina le, and steal the spotlight (although im sorry to say in numbers not doing nearly as well as ashley; give em a watch if you're into fashion!). many of them started around the same time citing Ashley as a big influence. here i want to compare these creators to Ashley, not to incite hate but to understand what makes a healthy and sustainable content creator career.
I think age and career are a big factor because although social media content creation is usually a young man's job (because young people can keep up with trends and what not), the social part of social media is grueling. the horror of being known times like. a million. in ashley's case she had 3 million subscribers. and when you're around 21-25 ish you are the most insecure you will ever be. at least for me, i hope (im 22 now). so not only was ashley most likely struggling (she was very open about it, she made a lot of self deprecating jokes) but her biggest demographic was people her age who's insecurities were probably fueled by her content. like i will stress, im NOT blaming ashley, but like. 20 year olds watching another 20 yr old live her best life? oh my god the jealousy. the insecurity. it didn't help that she was so relatable and humble about it, i think we get more jealous of other people's success the closer they are to us (why i dont look at my personal instagram anymore lol). badabing badaboom parasocial relationship and 3 million people watching your every move and critiquing every bit of it. her fanbase had THE most baseless critiques. disguising her rich background or whatever, hating on her for being privileged (which she recognized a lot btw), literally going incel mode and making comments about every inch of her body, the only critique that holds up is prob the amazon video which she deleted. also she was not white which i think people were very weird about. i cant deny that her white contemporaries got much less hate.
what works with the creators now is some of them have careers outside of youtube and are also less personal with their content. for example, kathleen illustrated has a career in the creative industry which means she mostly does youtube for fun. you can tell it's not a source of stress for her, from the way she is in her videos. they also don't really talk about their lives in a personable way which separates them from their audience. now i know this point in particular in contentious, authenticity and relatability are huge selling points on youtube. but i guess it's more of analyzing the costs and benefits of it? is it worth to put your whole life out there? showing your boyfriend, your girlfriend, your friends? what if you split up? you can have a personable aura without revealing private details. in mina le's videos, since most of them are video essays she has the opportunity to show off her personality without revealing private details.
i hope the creators i mentioned and others don't have to go through what ashley bestdressed has gone through. i know content creation is a very passion filled career and to end up in circumstances where you lose your love for it sounds awful
Oh sorry I for the back to back
Actually tv was airing reruns of good times once so my mom put it on and I watch a couple of episodes. I mentally went OH NOOOOOOOO halfway through the trailer when realizing what it was sequel about
THERE A FUCKING REASON IM MORE EXCITED ABOUT PLAYING AS YASUKE IN A HISTORICAL FICTION THAT CENTER AROUND A ILLUMINATI WAR AND MOST GODS ARE ACTUALLY MISREMEMBERING OF A HIGHLY ADVANCED CIVILIANIZATION THAT CREATED HUMANITY FOR SLAVE LABOR 75,000 YEARS AGO
Ugh sorry for the detour, but for why Ghettos now means bad neighborhoods. I remember something
So in 7th grade , a daughter of two holocaust survivors told her parents stories. She mentioned that they immigrant to Chicago
So my theory is that when holocaust survivors was telling how they were treated prior to the Final Solution. That people especially black Americans might have started to see parallels to how African Americans were treated in America
Of course not 1:1 but we all know how Jim crows America was
Oh and that pos racist urban planner Robert Moses that lead to the huge race issues of neighborhoods
And the projects, yeah the crime ridden place that was intentionally there to keep my community as animals
Of course not every black person live in it. But there a reason why a lot of black Americans including the lunatic Kanye in his songs, reference Chicago as Chiraq
Oh sorry detour, but remember the OG candyman? I seen people ask why it focus on a white woman…holy fuuuuuuuck
🤔
Could been that a lot of middle classic Americans especially fans of the horror genre wouldn’t know about the terrible situations of the Chicago projects so they made a stand in for the majority white consumers?
Ugh don’t get me started on the remake…where they tackle police brutality… in Chicago… a Democrat and heavily black politicians voted city.
Source: I live in the Chicago area and one it suburbs. I can see the Sears tower (I will call its Willis when I’m dead) in the distance when I use the backroads
Sorry now it remind the issues with the black panther movies. Yeah it was made by race obsessed people but also it was written as a Black ™️ movie
A prime example is Killmonger backstory, yeah it was wrong for the wakandans to abandoned to the streets of Oakland….
But the problem is the vast majority of MCU consumers were white middle class people and even I had to explain some shit to a Indian mutual
Coogler forgot that media intentionally turns a blind eye to black on black crime now and how horrific black inner cities still are. So most people wouldn’t know how crime ridden Oakland was. Okay okay they would, but a lot of the intentionally markers wouldn’t
But they sure as hell remember how evil the cia iiiiis!
Tangent, but why are black creators acting like the shitty made, poorly run projects integral to our communities?
They forced upon to use when we had very limited access to jobs and such. The whole guns, crack, and welfare system was created by racist politicians to ensure we ran back to arms for votes.
Shiiit, now I’m think about, the projects should been seen as modern plantations. Made to keep us away from the others. And so many black kids who could have been doctors, lawyers, and more. All gun down in crossfires or force to join gangs in order to survive….
Oh sorry I for the back to back Actually tv was airing reruns of good times once so my mom put it on and I watch a couple of episodes. I mentally went OH NOOOOOOOO halfway through the trailer when realizing what it was sequel about
Ya, Jeffersons, Good Times, and 227 were all great shows that need to be left alone, Sanford and Son too, they're trading on the name without actually honoring the place it came from, it's a shame.
You're sort of right on Ghetto
How America's Ugly History of Segregation Changed the Meaning of the Word 'Ghetto'
Short short version is the black community adopted the term since it matched up well enough to their circumstances with forced segregation looks like as early as 1910
Oh sorry detour, but remember the OG candyman? I seen people ask why it focus on a white woman…holy fuuuuuuuck
Never saw it, but I will take your word for it on all that stuff
Sorry now it remind the issues with the black panther movies. Yeah it was made by race obsessed people but also it was written as a Black ™️ movie A prime example is Killmonger backstory, yeah it was wrong for the wakandans to abandoned to the streets of Oakland…. But the problem is the vast majority of MCU consumers were white middle class people and even I had to explain some shit to a Indian mutual
Didn't see that one either, but I did gather that it was not quite what it should have been, unfortunately there is only so much time in a movie so gotta leave it up to the viewers in places I guess, also I imagine there were plenty of people that didn't care anyhow they just wanted to see the people fighting and all the cool gadgets and such.
Coogler forgot that media intentionally turns a blind eye to black on black crime now and how horrific black inner cities still are. So most people wouldn’t know how crime ridden Oakland was. Okay okay they would, but a lot of the intentionally markers wouldn’t
You should look up the angry reviews about that one episode of Family Guy, lot of people upset at the 'family guy 'nobody cares about black on black crime' line at the end.
Tangent, but why are black creators acting like the shitty made, poorly run projects integral to our communities? They forced upon to use when we had very limited access to jobs and such. The whole guns, crack, and welfare system was created by racist politicians to ensure we ran back to arms for votes.
because people continue to consume it so there's not much motivation to change the formula, need to bring back George and Weezie, Jefferson's was a good show, Sinbad was a good show, hell even Martin wasn't half bad.
They'd hate The Jefferson's now because meritocracy is bad somehow, but how else are you supposed to move on up to the east side, to a deluxe apartment in the sky, at least most people have to work for it, especially if they started at the bottom.
Can't tell people that they have some responsibility for where they land in life now it would seem.
Shiiit, now I’m think about, the projects should been seen as modern plantations. Made to keep us away from the others. And so many black kids who could have been doctors, lawyers, and more. All gun down in crossfires or force to join gangs in order to survive….
See above about The Jefferson's and previous comments about 'crab in a bucket/work 3 times as hard'
You want a media conspiracy there you go.
Hi mara. you asked for a qsmp chainsaw torture summary so well. my friend here i go and i apologize in advance for the fucking Wall of text im about to explode with 😭 HOWEVER. SO.
it all happened to the character cellbit; ooc and such he's a huge fan of puzzles, mysteries, enigmas, horror things, all that kind of stuff, so when he joined the server and learned of all the mysteries and weird shit going on he was SO into it. he instantly became a detective and investigator of everything weird on the island, which as you can imagine wasn't liked by the shadowy figures running it. particularly cucurucho, the only strange character that was actually Present to the players (also called osito bimbo and Gender Snowman in the earlier qsmp days). one day, cellbit wanted to get cucurucho's attention to be able to demand questions from it, so he decided to break a rule by creating an illegal iron farm.
after it was created he was suddenly teleported by who knows what to a dark hallway built out of deepslate and lit by redstone torches. and behind him was fucking Cucurucho which began to ATTACK HIM WITH A FUCKING CHAINSAW. he tried to run away, but as he ran he fell into a spike trap the hallway was rigged with. he died, and upon respawning he was teleported back to the hallway, where cucurucho laughed at his body in front of him. cucurucho then brought him into a dark meeting room where it allowed cellbit to ask it some questions, and he got out, for example, that the island was owned by an entity called "the federation" and that cucurucho, apparently, just wants to make everyone on the island happy. cellbit, in exchange, promised that he wouldn't break any rules again. This was in may btw so. Obviously he hasn't. adhered to that. who has really. but sadly that was the last of chainsaw torture since. Sad!
ALSO cellbit erm. Doesn't really have a vods channel 💀 so the best thing i can link you of the actual thing is This video unfortunately from a clips channel BUT IF I FIND A BETTER VOD OR WHATNOT I WILL LET YOU KNOW :D!!!!!
Stares at you. ..... Hope this helped mara 😭😭😭😭😭
OHHHHH MYYY GODD genuinely jawdropped this is insane WHAT THEH FUCK😭 immmmeadiatly I love cellbit....CUCURUCHO CHAINSAW MURDERRR IT ALL MAKESSS XENNSEEEE IMMM CRAZYYY!!!! THATS SO GOODDDD WHAT.... WHAT!!!!! I need cucurucho to get more fuckrf up like this Bring that chainsaw back baby ohh my goodddd i gotto watch more cellbit THANK YOU CALLI SO FUCKING MUUCHHH IMM. You reblogged that post about people sending you asks so I’ll call your bluff.
I feel like I’ve followed you since I started this blog and I see you crop up on my dash all the time. Im also bad at remembering things about people on this site and checking blogs, so my question is, what broad things are you into?
Either in regard to tumblr or irl. Asking a Q like this will help me remember it 👍
You call my bluff and you called wrong!
I like video games, obviously. Big fan of fps games like ultrakill and half life. Doom is there too, obviously. I actually do mapping for GZDoom! I also love Bloodborne, that's my favorite game of all time. I've been getting into survival horror lately. I'm a huge fan of metroidvanias, 2d and 3d. Sadly, I haven't been able to find any games that recapture the feel of metroid prime.
In general, I like lovecraftian/cosmic horror. Again, bloodborne is an example. Darkest Dungeon is another good example. I have a book that's a collection of lovecraft's work. I also like house of leaves, but I'm not sure if that falls under that.
I really like to collect bottle caps! They're old and carry a lot of story to them, depending on how you look at it. I see them as tiny things in everyday life and it's really cool to think that once this was held in the palm of a stranger, left alone and hidden for who knows how long.
I do a bit of drawing and writing occasionally, but I'm not too good at either. I do pencil and paper drawings. You can find some of them on this blog.
I'd tell you about my music taste, but really it's a jumble of random things. I recently found a band called Ampliphobia though. They're pretty cool.
what is your favorite... horror based game / gdjdhsjsbdbdnddnxd movie / silly Internet phenomenon for silly reasons <- needs more horror to quell the demons , have you heard of hit series needle mouse bc I think you'd like it :3 maybe
good lord what a question.... what a marvelous questingoug............. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
LONG ASS POST INCOMING!
Okay so ~Game Wise~ DBD doesn't really count as a horror game in the traditional sense, so I will actually refrain from saying that. And I think Resident Evil isn't particularly treated as the horror it was meant to be so I'll refrain there too. Actually, you know what? My favorite all time horror game was Outlast, i think. I haven't really touched it in a long time but I think that was one of my big introductions to traditional horror game.
It came out fucking. Forever Ago but i actually watched my dad play it. I remember the locker scene so vividly because my heart was beating so hard I made myself sick. Really inspired me as a kid to get into more Horror based stuff, it was awesome. (I was also big into Layers of Fear!)
If you're thinking more like Indie Horror? Like less based in the gameplay of a big game like Outlast, Tattletail was a HUGE one for me. I fucking LOVED that game, especially since I was a big Furby fan. I've always loved point and clicks like Mr Whiskers.
If you're looking for horror based Visual Novels, I actually have a whole LINE of favorites, lol. Hello Charlotte Series is by far my favorite over anything I've EVER played, for example. In fact I think it's one of my favorite games in the history of ever. Our Wonderland is also an amazing title that actually very recently was updated! I haven't gotten to play the new chapter yet but I'm super hyped about it.
One day I'll make a masterlist of all the free games from their own websites/itch.io that I loved, there's so many.
Horror MOVIES!! Now THAT is much easier: - Smile (2022) , A Haunting In Connecticut (2009), Hereditary (2018), obligatory mention to all classic slashers and the saw franchise, (i personally, LOVE, the 2010 remake of Nightmare On Elmstreet, but i recognize that it's not really everyones cup of tea especially in reference to the original, but goddammit I am weak to the wonders of my favorite guy ever Quenting Smith), I'm also particularly fond of the Scream franchise. Jennifers Body (2009) is a classic too, love that. I'm also, sadly, very fond of IT. lmao. sue me!! I also like. Reanimator (1985) but it was very much a victim of the 80s. It's kind of a hard watch for my friends lol
As for Internet Horrors: - Analog Horror! The Walten Files, Vita Carnis, Blue Channel, Mandela Catalog, Gemini Home Entertainment are all fairly well known and I do actually quite like all of them. Some of them are a bit overrrated but it's for good reason yknow? Popular shit is popular for a reason. I haven't finished looking into Boisvert but what I did see I did like for the most part. Angel Hare, Petscop, and Local 58 are all great too
There's some good horror shorts on youtube if you're looking for a really good quick scare. Other Side Of The Box, "048", and the channel CryptTV has... a couple? pretty decent horror short films. Personally I find these good for a short scare but theyre not as fun in the long run
Honorary Mentions: Fnaf, Fnaf VHStape, Fnaf related media, Happy Meat Farm ARG. DDLC, Marble Hornets and the Slenderverse as a whole, literally any datign sim that involves mass amounts of murder i have likely played and enjoyed. what can i say im a sucker for bloody visual novels
AND FINALLY!! To answer you, I haven't heard of needle mouse!! :O i'll look into it!! :D THANK YOU FOR THE ASK!!!!!!!!!
im not even pro-orca cap but the comments on illuminaughtii’s most recent video about seaworld make me want to slam my head against the wall. the first one is just a super extreme example of the typical activist anthropomorphism (existential horror??? are you fucking kidding me??? the orcas attack because they are wild animals that can never become completely friendly with humans, not because their lives are some Kafkaesque hellscape), but the second one… the second one just made me shake my head in pure disbelief. seaworld has shown over and over and over again that they do NOT use anything besides positive reinforcement- they may have in the past, but not anymore. they emphasize it in all their shows, all their behind the scenes videos, and they are even aza-accredited but it is STILL not enough somehow. they’re one of the most blindly hated things on the planet. i may not be a huge fan of orca cap, i am glad they’ve ended the breeding program, but their dedicated trainers (who are entirely separate from the corporate side of things, unbeknownst to these people) try hard to give them better lives.
[Mod commentary: Lost count of the number of times my skin crawled reading those comments. I really want to know what they think SeaWorld does to abuse the whales into submission. Also uh my dude taming squirrels isn't something to be bragging about...]
