TIG CHILDHOOD HCSSSSS

you ask, i deliver. here are some tig childhood hcs that me and my fever delusions made. enjoyyyy 💖

grayson used to look up to nash so he attempted to ride horses but ended up hating it bc it got him dirty so he stopped

in early middle school this girl had a crush on grayson and since him and jameson we’re besties at that point so jameson kept running up and down the hallway passing notes for the girl and grayson and being their messenger so they would hold hands at recess

thea stole her moms makeup in first grade for picture day and did her makeup and she thought she looked amazing but in reality it was terrible and her mom didn’t realize until she got home and she was livid and pictures turned out terrible

avery loved coloring and whenever her mom would have a little extra money she would buy her a new coloring book and new crayons and ave thought she was a princess

xander loved the board game mousetrap and would force everyone to play it with him

grayson would write poems and songs but always threw them away because he was worried they weren’t good enough

thea had a huge 1d obsession and would sing their songs in the mirror with the hairbrush as a microphone (she even read those quirky y/n “she’s so different, let’s invite her on stage” and being kidnapped and sold to 1d fix’s even if she won’t admit it)

rebecca loved jellybeans and would always try different kinds of them whenever she could

jamie loved musicals but eve said they were dorky and made fun of him so he stopped liking them (he eventually got back into them tho bc ave told him it was cute he was a theater dork)

lyra would watch angelina ballerina and dream about getting her big-girl pointe shoes

xander broke multiple beds by jumping on them

gigi and savannah would wake up early and watch cartoons and eat cereal on the couch and sav would always be so careful not to make a mess but gigi would never fail to spill her milk on the floor

max read wattpad and a03 and write fics of her fav book series under her blanket on a secret account so her parents couldn’t see her activity bc they were 🌶️ SPICY 🌶️ and her religious and strict parents would not approve

libby would dye her hair with household items (food coloring, kool-aid, etc.) before she was able to get it died with real hair dye

alisa would doodle nash’s name and write love notes to him in her diary with pink sparkles and a little lock during recess

ave would have to kiss her mom good night every night or else wouldn’t be able to sleep

eve would take other kids toys and when confronted she would cry and manipulate them because “she’s sick” and her parents would just enable her

jameson would always be the try-hard during pe and always do the most at recess and had all of the ladies swooning

hiked all up and down the ravine for about an hour clicking max's favorite laser pointer and gently calling him but no luck. there's food and water outside for him. i'll put some litter out soon too if theres no rain in tonights forecast. im really distraught/angry over this because apparently the other people in the house have been not fully closing the door behind them when leaving for work at 4-5 am before i'm up -- enabling my cat to get out multiple times, as he is smart and bored at this hour and doesnt understand why he cant do what the other cats are doing -- and they just now decided to tell me this has been happening. i take incredible care of every animal in the house that isnt mine ALL DAY feeding them watering them petting them taking the dog out 3-4x a day because they only think he needs to go out once in the am and once in the pm and playing with them all making sure they all come in and update their owners ALL DAY on their statuses and i get none of that in return i guess

to give a quick run down b4 i go off the rails: the protestant work ethic is a concept in the humanities coined by Max Weber to basically describe how capitalism was able to rise and spread so quickly through protestant ethics and values. there's not really an official "catholic" work ethic, but we can look at how catholics interpret scripture relating to labor v protestants and get a general idea. i gotta rlly emphasize that a lot of this is broad generalization for the ease of analysis o7

for catholics, work is something you must endure as repayment for the original sin. you shouldn't really enjoy working, it's not something that should make you miserable, but it's meant to remind you of the pleasure of leisure. you work hard so that you'll be rewarded later on. honestly, i think langdon fits well with sort of "hedonistic" viewpoint (at least that's how protestants view it). you do good deeds to make up for your bad ones in hopes that your good deeds outweigh the bad. he can keep prolonging his pill popping if he saves enough lives. when robby confronts him about his drug use, as he tries to justify his actions, he starts talking about his work. his work that helps people, that saves lives. his sin of greed is met with his good works brought on by his faith. he does believe in medicine (what im using as a replacement for God), and catholics do believe in sola gratia (by grace alone), and it's his faith in medicine that makes his work mean something. his faith in medicine is also what leads him to be a doctor ("this faith entails by its very nature, good works, always enabled by prior grace, without which this faith is dead" - david armstrong). it's why he goes to rehab! its why he comes back to work.

abbot, imo, is one of the best examples of protestant work ethic. need to squish him & whitaker together… omg what a pair that would be…

when robby is panicking on the roof and abbot is scrambling to comfort him, he starts talking about how he & robby are just destined to do this sort of work: “it’s in our DNA. it's what we do. we can't help it.” his comfort is centered around the idea of what people are meant to do with themselves and how being good at their work is rewarding, not that they will be rewarded for their good work. it circles back to this idea of predestination, that you can't work up to salvation so the work you are doing is evidence of your stewardship to God. "all you can do is focus on the medicine. the medicine's the only thing that saves the patient and your sanity." faith (medicine) is what calls him to be a doctor, it's what controls his life. however, he has no inclination that his labor is going to "save" him, he is either damned or not.

ok so i called myself the unofficial head of this ship (lol) but actually looking through the tumblr tag i must denounce myself and crown @nyoomfruits instead bc she has been on it from day 1

max and oscar are just so similar i think they get each other!! they're both very down to earth and very focussed on the job. both of them hailed as extraordinary in lower formulas and quickly making their way up (ofc max's was very quick and oscar had his year out, but still all things considered). i feel like a lot of it is max being surprised about oscar, i dont think he expected that deadpan energy/serious but enjoying it/quick wit from him and now hes like oh i see, i get it. maybe also helps how much lando gets along with oscar and max obvs likes lando. trusts his opinion.

like i said on the oscar discord too, i think oscar would indulge max's maxplaining!! he enables it and is like "Huh, I never thought about it like that. Have you considered that [x]" and then suddenly its 11pm and everyone else has left the paddock before they even look up from their convo

im just going to say the trend i see in mine and others askboxes to freak out about “max and charles barely interacting on the podium” is ridiculous. at the end of the day they’re colleagues for rival teams, max’s first priority after a race win is going to be the team. he’s going to a. include his teammate and b. spray the red bull guy who is both furiously spraying rose water on him and has never been up on a podium before! max and charles interacted plenty, we got like three seconds of the cooldown room and for those three seconds max was nattering away to charles. he is literally not ignoring him, he’s just doing his job which is to focus on the team which is enabling him to have such a large winning streak.

You weren't sure if you'd ever fit in with people. Something about you always felt different from others.

Maybe it was that you didn't understand their antics. Their jokes weren't funny to you, or you didn't understand them. They seemed you as sensitive, but you're really just incredibly empathic.

You were interested in things that they weren't. You hated certain foods, textures, and feeling in general.

Then somtimes it all became too much. Alone in a dark room with headphones in. Attempting to soothe yourself from the overwhelming feelings running through your mind and body.

Your friends wanted to go out of a Friday night. Previously, you were feeling alright and decided to go with. Instantly regretting your decision as soon as you walked into the door of the club.

It was here that you met Oscar.

He didn't really want to be here. He'd given into the pleas of his friends who didn't want to go without him. He liked people and going out to have fun, but he wasn't in the mood right now.

He noticed you sitting at the bar nursing a drink. You looked like you wouldn't bother him, and the bar was already crowded, so he sat down on the stool next to yours.

You briefly looked over at him. Finding your drink to be more entertaining than the male next to you.

You were getting more overwhelmed by the second. The discreetly hidden earbuds only help so much. The vibration of the bass and the lights combined made you want to puke. You wanted to get out of there, but your body was ever so slowly shutting down.

Oscar noticed how your body was shrinking into itself. He didn't want to stare, but it was obvious you were in distress.

"Are you alright?" Asked the Australian.

You didn't look up at him, and words became too difficult, so you settled for shaking your head no.

Oscar thought about it for a minute. "Do you want to get out of here? I'm not in the mood to party, and you don't seem like you are either." He grimaced at how awkward he felt like he sounded. "I promise I'm not a serial killer or something." He laughed but it was more at himself then anything.

Eager to leave, regardless of who the man was, you stood up and made your way towards the door. You didn't have a tab, just water in your glass to make you feel like you belonged.

Once outside the door, you breathe a sigh of relief. Less people, less vibration, and less light.

You wanted to cry, though. Your body still feeling everything.

"Do you need anything? A ride home even? I probably seem like suck a creep right now." Oscar rubs his temples.

For the first time, you fully examine the male. Shocked to see kind features and gentle eyes. He was wearing a plain t-shirt and jeans.

"Thank you." You managed. Not wanting him to feel like a weirdo any longer.

He paused and looked up at you. Wanting to find your eyes but noticing your eyes did not want to find his. "I'm Oscar, by the way." He reached out his hand for you to shake.

Which you did hesitantly. "I'm Y/N."

You had explained to Oscar that you didn't live close to here. Over an hour away at best. You'd been exploring the town with friends earlier in the day when they decided to end the night at the club.

He offered you a stay at his apartment for the night and then he could take you home in the morning.

"Actually, can I take you on a date first?" He'd found you intriguing and beautiful, and he didn't want this to be for one night.

You were nervous, to say the least, but when he offered to take you anywhere you wanted to go, the deal seemed appealing. Furthermore, there was a music store you wanted to look at that your friends had passed by. So when he offered, you pointed him in the direction.

"Can I ask you something?" His eyes never left the rode, and you were grateful for it. It helped the conversation flow easier for you.

"Sure." You shrugged.

"Why are you wearing earbuds?"

Oh. You dreaded this. Talking about the way your body and mind work had yet to end well.

Your hesitancy did not do unnoticed, so Oscar quickly followed up with "you don't have to answer if it's uncomfortable."

"Well, it's just that- loud noise makes me overwhelmed, and things like headphones help drown it out." You fumbled.

"Oh I use those at work too sometimes cause it can get loud."

He seemed so natural saying it. His calm demeanor helping you to read him a bit better.

He then proceeded to tell you about his job and ask questions about you. He was very clear when he spoke. Eventually helping you to wind down.

You and Oscar browsed the music and talked about the different kinds of music you like. It felt natural. Even when you knew you were info-dumping, he just listened intently and asked questions about your interest.

Soon enough, the shopkeeper asked you both to leave. You waved a thank you and slid back into Oscar's car.

"Thank you for indulging me. I really enjoyed this." You were shocked to hear that come from him. Mainly because you felt like you talked his ear off.

The drive to his apartment was quiet, but not the awkward kind.

He opened the door for you when you arrived. His apartment was comfortable. It's not super empty or overly decorated. It's just comfortable.

"Right, so you can borrow some of my clothes for tonight and take the room, and I'll take the couch." He didn't even give you a chance to protest as he sped off to gether the essentials.

You two didn't do much sleeping that night. Wasting away the time. The clock moving two fast for your liking. You two spent hours conversing and laughing with each other.

Somewhere along the line, Oscar passed out on the couch, and you had made your way to his room like he said to.

You two exchanged numbers when it was finally time for you to leave his car. He promised to stay in contact with you.

A promise he followed through on. It didn't take long til you were following him around to races.

You were mostly watched from the quiet places in the McLaren paddock. Sometimes, it even curled up in Oscar's driver room. He didn't mind, though, making it a small game you played between the two of you.

You and Lando got along nicely as well. Oscar only getting frustrated when it comes to both of you and your eating habits.

You were manageable, but Lando was just ridiculous in his eyes.

You didn't actively say your autistic but definitely explained why you are the way you are. Eventually, people came to their own conclusions. The gossip pages included.

You didn't really understand the criticism at first. People had always misjudged and misunderstood. But when they started nitpicking your every move, it became annoying.

The names didn't bother you. It was them saying Oscar deserved someone who wasn't as weird.

It followed you everywhere. These labels that the media had given you.

You were happy with Oscar. He treated you so well, and you were doing your best to support him. You two created your own small routines that you enjoyed.

You couldn't even walk through the paddock without journalists trying to question you. The physical souch of their bodies and shouting so they could be heard sending your body into overdrive. You liked the environment of racing, but this was over your limit.

You were so glad you texted Oscar you had arrived. Him responding that he was already on his way to you.

He noticed the journalists first, then you at the center of attention. Your hands in your hair and your breathing rapid. You looked like you might scream.

His legs moved faster than his mind as he put himself in between you and anyone else. Very gently, placing a hand on your shoulder to try and guide you away.

You did end up screaming. Your body needing to release all the pent-up emotions you'd been wanting to release earlier. Thankfully, it was somewhere private and muffled by Oscar's jacket.

You didn't want the so close like that. They were too much. They questions they asked were incredibly invasive. Some even going as far as to ask about intimate things.

You managed to explain to Oscar what happened. His listening intently, watching you play with his fingers in the pattern your head had come up with.

"I'm sorry. I'm not trying to make things hard for you."

Oscar smiled and simply shook his head. "You aren't making things difficult, and on the contrary, you and your nerodivergent brain have never looked so cute."

"I just got done screaming and trying to self-soothe."

As you read it and looked at Oscar, who was giving you a goofy smile for being proud of what he'd just done. You realized just how much he loved you. Despite your labels, he saw past them and loved you for you.

16. Who hogs the covers?

between RYU and me it’s definitely him but in the cute way, you know? i think he’s always a little chilly… maybe i need to start a hc list for him too seeing how much i’ve come to love him this year. one of them would definitely be that he runs cold. i run warm so im more than glad to give up the covers/let my feet poke out if it means he’s more comfortable. in his quiet consideration though (another hc id have is that where he doesn’t prefer to express his love verbally/phsyically, he will through acts of service.. like letting me have some blankets lol) he definitely monitors himself in the winter

RYU can’t hold his alc (i think this is either canon, based on irl akutagawa, or both). one shot + one cocktail MAX and then he’s done. composure, restraint, cool-guy facade is down after two or three drinks and then he starts rambling and rambling and chatting and rambling about the most random shit. all those inside thoughts he so obviously keeps to himself? “why’s that guy looking at you weird.” “it’s too fucking hot in here does anyone know how to work a thermostat.” “that is the ugliest fucking dress i’ve ever seen.” just doesn’t stop. the filter’s off. unintentionally really funny.

when he’s drunk/im sober, it’s probably just me wheezing at him while he dissects some aspect of culture or politics or history or whatever while i shoo him toward the door and tell people i need to get him home because he’s gna be vomming in approximately a half hour. you’d think blacked-out akutagawa just popped a xan. birds circling around his head while he sways in a circle and goes on incoherently about something he definitely shouldn’t be talking sbout.

between RYU and me……….. me hands down. but we accommodate each other. if im in a cuddly mood, he’ll usually concede. if he’s in an “ew don’t touch me” mood, i’ll back off. these extremes would die down over the course of our relationship, i think. eventually we’d end up like 60/40 me/him initiating

i think it’s pretty 50/50 between me and OSAMU. our “ew don’t touch me” moods seem to be a lot more in sync/equilibrium than me and ryu’s.
