Currently thinking about the idea of young Sam (i’m thinks like between the ages of 7-14) having severe seizures that Dean is stuck having to deal with them because John is either out on a hunt or to drunk too.

I’m imagining 12 year old Sam shaking in 16 year old Dean’s arm and Dean not knowing how to help so he just sit there waiting it out hoping it doesn’t go on to long that it causes actually damage instead of a couple of bruises and a bit tongue.

And then when sam finally stops seizing and comes back into consciousness Dean spends the next few hours constantly checking on him and giving him lots of kisses and making his favourite food for dinner.

This is what his life adds up to. And now they're going to do what they've always done—disappear. Only this time, Dad won't find them.

I hate teenchesters, not teenchesters themselves but the weecest. HATE it, I just want them to have the relationship they had then — of course I like wincest but not weecest.

honestly i can’t take weecest seriously because there’s literally zero hints of such dynamic being a thing in canon. also it adds unnecessary sexual context to their relationship which takes most of the appeal of this ship away (the subtlety & metaphorical nature of their potential romantic/sexual dynamic)

as a side note, this is also part of why i don’t think we should label them as “switches” when it comes to the sexual part (i’ve noticed that most weecest enjoyers interpret sam and dean as strictly switches). IF they ever did have a sexual dynamic in canon, on screen, it’d be when they’re adults, and it’d mirror their non sexual dynamic, with all its nuances (dean’s desperate need to possess & control sam, sometimes punish him when he feels like he’s losing control over him, sam’s need to earn dean’s trust & approval, especially during s5, his willingness to offer himself for dean’s physical violence). you also have to keep in mind that dean practically raised sam and sees himself as his father and the one holding power over him (one of the reasons why the idea of romantic teenchesters feels unrealistic — they’ve never been lovers, their relationship has always been about unhealthy family dynamics and power imbalance, there’s really no need to make their pre series dynamic about sex with each other especially when there’s no such implication in canon), and he needs to keep that role in their relationship. he enjoys being a big brother in charge, the whole siren thing wasn’t just about him being attracted to sam (once again it’s shown indirectly: we can come to this conclusion because of how sexually charged the interaction between dean-sam-the siren was and the fact that all the sirens took a form of a lover) but also about him craving the ideal version of sam aka a submissive little brother who listens to him, looks up to him and lets him take the lead, so obviously it would make it’s way into their sexual dynamic too, which is why top!dean/bottom!sam would make perfect sense. the siren episode also heavily implies dean’s pining/desire for sam but it’s pretty much one-sided, which lessens the possibility of them being in some kind of long-term romantic relationship pre canon

also to be completely honest, it’s hard to imagine them having regular sex like normal couples, much less being in a serious sexual romantic relationship since childhood, because their dynamic isn’t inherently sexual (this is also the reason why weecest doesn’t work in the context of canon). the sexual subtext of their relationship is based on metaphors, the power imbalance that comes from the fact that dean raised sam, the canonical feminization of sam’s character, and dean’s obsessive possessiveness & desire to control him which sometimes makes him do pretty much fucked up things to sam without his consent (why sexual noncon is never really off the table). the subtle freudian subtext & metaphors surrounding their relationship is large part of the appeal of their unhealthy brotherly dynamic, and the idea of them being in an established romantic relationship pre canon definitely simplifies whatever they have between them

Dean is determined to prove himself a worthy leader, but it soon becomes clear that something's off. The traps they come across are extreme and dangerous, and Sam starts to experience more effects than just a mild sedative should cause. Dean faces one of his greatest fears as it's revealed this test was never about him after all.

@profoundgayness Like I said, I don't consider the headcanons on this list completely outside the realm of possibility, but I think the evidence weighs against them. In this specific case, there are a couple of reasons it sounds iffy to me.

First, why would Dean need to sell sex to feed Sammy? We only know of the Teenchesters running out of food money once-- because Dean lost it in a poker game (in "Bad Boys," a flashback episode I have a hard time taking seriously because of separate continuity issues,* but I'll roll with it for now). Dean got caught stealing peanut butter, which doesn't point to long experience scrounging for his and Sam's food. On top of that, you have the Winchesters mostly appearing to stay in small towns-- not places known for their "gay scenes" now, let alone in the mid-90s. Considering the contemporary economy and the relatively lax ID verification practices of 90s businesses, it would've probably been easier for Dean to get work as a day laborer than to identify and meet with potential johns.

To be clear, I'm not saying it's cool that Dean was running around managing the family budget with no adult supervision. He could, and did, get into trouble-- as many teenagers would have done. I just don't think that prostitution was the likeliest outcome.

Second, wouldn't selling sex have altered, if not eradicated, Dean's casual homophobia? The language that he uses (for example, "bitch-boy demon" for a demon minion) reveals that he views homosexuality-- especially by a needy/reluctant partner-- as a sign of weakness.

I don't think Dean considers himself weak. Unlovable, maybe, or uninteresting. He does have self-esteem issues. But-- between the lock-picking and the flame-throwing and the getting hot chicks' numbers-- it's clear that, at least in the earliest seasons that are closest to his youth, Dean feels confident in most situations that call for traditional "manliness." He knows he's a badass, and he doesn't consider that compatible with being anybody's bitch.

Another clarification: I'm not putting my seal of approval on his attitudes, but I do see them, and I think that they make sense in the context of a Gen-X man from an impoverished, borderline-criminal background.

*The episode kicks off with Dean revealing that he had spent a few months in a boys' home, rather than on a rugaru hunt. This contradicts two pieces of earlier canon:

Travis the hunter has to explain rugarus to the boys in season 4's "Metamorphosis."

In "Pilot," Sam expresses surprise that John lets Dean hunt by himself now. This implies that Dean was not engaging in independent hunts by the time Sam left for Stanford in 2001.

Also, "Bad Boys" expects me to buy that teenage Dean had black caterpillar eyebrows. LOL no.

Baffling fanon

These aren't the dumbest or craziest ideas out there. (It'd be hard to do those without being mean, and I don't have PMS right now.) They fall close enough to canon that you can kinda-sorta see where someone might believe them. They just don't have enough canon support for you to understand why so many fans buy them.
