small , booted feet start swinging above the floor , powder herself having settled into a clear spot on silco's desk . he's not in his chair , though ― instead , he'd asked powder to inform his next guest that he'll be back momentarily . hopefully .

there's a nervousness to her , when the other is led into the room . she's not scared ― no , she's already gotten comfortable around here by now ― she's only unsure what to expect .

“ are you the guy silco said he needed to talk to ? ” naturally curious , powder scanned him over a couple times , trying to memorize defining features juuuust in case something happened . “ he said he had to take care of something but you could wait around , he should be back soon . if you have the time , i guess . ”

“ i dunno , i feel pretty informed . ” but informed how , is the question . kenny definitely prides himself in being a social butterfly , knowing all the business , sure ― but just how useful is all that at the moment ? not like he could tell . “ i mean , she seems pretty open about what she likes , y'know , with all the sharp objects an' the dark colors , horror type'a stuff . or ― wait , who're we talkin' about again ? ”

@toksikk ― [ mercedes && michael ] "I made you some fresh coffee."

Having been focused on a book, Michael opts to hold up a finger to indicate, hold on a moment. In only a few short seconds, he finishes the passage, marks his progress with a small paper clip, and finally turns his attention to the mug placed in front of him. “ Black, steaming, just a hint of creamer, ” he inspects out loud. So, she remembers. Good to know. “ Thank you. ” There's an awkward pause, like he's contemplating what to say, as thin pale fingers tap at the mug. “ . . . Unusually quiet here today. I can actually read without much interruption. ”

with how many times he's already introduced himself in only the past couple hours , viktor had almost regretted denying the headmaster the supposed honor of introducing him over breakfast ― on the other hand , he still wasn't at all sure if he could have handled all those eyes staring back at him .

“ ah , yes , my apologies . viktor musil , arithmancy and alchemy professor . ” it was rattled off as if rehearsed ; it may as well have been , by that point . his free hand was held out for a handshake , the other preoccupied with his cane . “ you missed no introduction , it was purposefully omitted . and i am usually not out and about between classes , perhaps that explains why you have not yet seen me here . ”

“ truth ? ” ed perks up from her spot on the floor , moving her goggles from her eyes with one hand and leaning back onto the other . “ faye - faye said something about money , ed thought . . . ”

she sways back and forth , humming in thought over the phrase until their wandering corgi catches her attention . “ ein ! hey , you're smart , right ? ” he merely barks in response to her , watching as she lets herself flop backwards and stare back at him with an expectant grin . “ what do you think ? what really sets you free , huh , boy ? ”

@troublcmakcrs - [ craig && kenny ] "I'm dreaming, this can't be true."

“ fuck you mean , this can't be true ? ” the brown fuzz from kenny's hood only half - hid the big goofy smile on his face , only pulled back after a very conspicuous look around . a little strip of paper had been tucked into kenny's ponytail , to be gently tugged back out in boast . “ see ? i told you i could get a girl's number when i'm all bundled up . easy peasy . ”

granted , it's so they could give each other makeovers , rather than go on an actual date , but craig didn't need to know that .

“ an' you thought i couldn't do it . ha ! ” he's only teasing at this point ; the laugh and the nudge to craig's shoulder should've made it obvious . “ here , here . it's not about the look , right ? it's the confidence . i mean , c'mon , look at me ~ ”

@vandrs - [ vander && jinx ] [ CARRY ]:     having found the receiver in an injured/weak/unconscious state, the sender carries them in their arms to safety.

her vision is blurry with loose gunpowder and ears ring from tinnitus , when jinx comes to . bruised hands reach for her face , rubbing the dust out of her eyes , and it dawns on her ― she's being carried . a confused groan leaves her throat , and still - dirtied eyes squint up , trying to look past all the powder so she could figure out exactly who had dared pick her up .

the initial thought was sevika ― she'd begrudgingly come to her aid , bring her home if she was asked . or , if not sevika , then some other big tough guy silco trusted enough .

but when her vision finally focused enough , jinx flinches , blinks her eyes tight as if trying to will the sight away . but when she looks back up at him , she's convinced . he's obviously holding her , and he hasn't said anything , not yet . he's real . he's got to be .

“ . . . vander ? ”

@bornbreathless - [ char && klaus ] ‘  how  about  we  ask  him  after  we  kill  him ?  ’

“ whoa whoa whoa , hang on . kill ? ” tattooed hands press against his own chest , practically feigning offense in the idea ― or is he being serious ? the world may never know . “ look , i know i was raised by the– the king of raising killers himself , but i'm no killer . just ask ben ! ”

ask ben ? well , surely she'd love to , right ? if only he could sober up enough to make him visible and hear - able to anyone but himself .

“ oh , you hush , ” he comments , a quick glance over his shoulder as if it's aimed at somebody char can't see . “ i can do it ! i'm just , y'know , i'm not a killer ― ugh . sorry . ben's never been much of a people guy . ”

@fxntasmagoria - [ butters && kenny ] “I don’t get it. I really don’t get it.”

kenny's usual attire of torn - up jeans , old faded t - shirt , and bright orange parka lay in a messy pile in a one - off mall store changing room , replaced by a faded orange crop top and a short - ish black skirt . and yet , the taller dramatically rolls his eyes , snickering to prove he's not taking genuine offense .

“ aw , c'mon , man . look ! ” he pulls a quick 360 spin ; see , this skirt is long enough to cover his ass . or something like that . girls always did that full spin , for some reason or another , so of course he'd do it too . “ ain't it cute ? y'know , for a party or somethin' ? ”

@vengeancewise - [ howl && sophie ] ❛ i could keep you safe. they’re all afraid of me. ❜

the sudden voice startles her , causing a light shade of pink to color across her face . sophie takes a half - step back , almost leaning against howl's chest , in some attempt to ease the fear starting to swell in her chest .

large crowds had always been intimidating . this time , even more so , thanks to a new location , the strange attire this area's soldiers wore , how much prettier she'd thought the other girls were . she could feel wrinkles starting to form on her face ― leftover remnants from the witch of the wastes , a curse that would likely never fully dissipate now that the witch had been stripped of her powers .

“ are you sure ? ” sophie turns where she stands , to stare nervously up at howl . “ once i know where i'm going , i think i'll be okay . i thought you were sending me so you could tend to something else . ”

“ . . . and , like , sometimes i think i should just swap my major and minor , but it's probably just because art feels that therapeutic . and at the same time , having a degree in psychology would probably be more helpful in the long run , y'know ? plus , my credits in psych wouldn't roll over , it's just , y'know , i dunno . . . ”

where was she again ? she'd gotten sidetracked , having rambled on and on about her topics of study , the latest lesson of her psych class versus her art history class ― she hadn't even touched on how much fun she had at her job with a daycare center , let alone what her old friend was majoring in , or if he worked at all .

“ oh , geez , sorry . i feel like i talked a lot , didn't i ? ” heidi shrunk into her spot on the couch , fingers fidgeting with the sleeves of her sweater . “ what about you , what're you up to these days ? still in college , or working , or both . . ? ”

@fxntasmagoria - [ lexus && kenny ] “You still picking at that?”

“ hmm ? ” a half - eaten order of chili cheese fries sits in front of kenny at his spot , fork starting to tilt ( having been stabbed into a hefty - looking fry ) . he'd been spacing out , made obvious by the blank expression and glazed - over eyes . but once lexus had gotten his attention , he's quick to plaster his signature goofy grin on his lips .

“ oh , yeah , my bad ! ” his previously detached demeanor is gone fast as lightning . for a second , though , he almost thinks listening to stan was a bad idea , that maybe he should have stayed home if he was gonna snack on a brownie that strong . but then he takes his fork , lifts a bite of that room - temperature chili cheese into his mouth , and damn near melts in his seat . “ god damn , this is good , lex . you made this ? who'd you get to make this ? ”
