Every time I think about Hugo my heart starts aching so deeply. He's the most powerful being in the world of OFF. He never uses his magic against anybody or anyone. His name's meaning implies intelligence and creativity, but he can't stand up and walk outside his room to let it come to fruition. He wants his mommy, but she's never there. He resents his dad, but at the same time is happy to see a reflection of that man, even if he was the one who made it, come to him. He's made three friends and he's honored the promises he made them, but they've never returned to honor the ones they made to him. He can't walk. He can imagine worlds outside of any bounds. He's terrified. He's hopeful. He's the Creator of the world. He's just a little boy.

Indie Japanese-style RPG crossover Infinite Alliance announced for PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC - Gematsu

Publisher Electric Airship and developer Critical Games have announced Infinite Alliance, a turn-based RPG featuring characters from over 13 independent Japanese-style RPGs. It will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam in 2026—completely free.

Finally completed Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

After an almost 100 hour roller coaster from a series that has been a big part of my life for 14 years it more than delivered.

Here's to more Like A Dragon games!

Broad Skills

So Feng Shui does something fun with the skill list: Every skill has 3 benefits: competency with the procedures involved, (Guns skill means you can use a gun, clean guns, break down and rebuild guns, etc.), knowing things related to the skill (Guns skill means you can recite gun facts and identify guns) and have contacts related to the skill. (Guns skill means you know gun people- other gun nerds, gun shops, gun runners, etc.)

In a lot of other systems each of these would be a separate thing, but characters in Feng Shui are considered broadly competent in an action movie way, and the gun guy in an action movie is often as not capable in all of these.

This, apparently was adapted from one of several skill options in a previous game by Feng Shui's first publisher, Nexus the infinite city. In Nexus you could purchase broad or narrow skills, with broad skills being as described, while narrow skills focused on one of these options, but cheaper. A Fire mage might have a fire magic skill that just let them cast fire spells while not having contacts or knowledge about fire magic (Maybe it's an innate talent rather than a matter of study) while someone else might have a broader fire magery skill that lets them know about other fire magic traditions and how to identify different types of fire spells and how to get in touch with people who need to do insurance fraud with arson.

But anyway, I kind of like this, and I'm tempted to incorporate this line of thinking into the skills and beats of Hollywood Underhills.

they’re lowk crazy lonely so they create living dolls to make up for that, and when MC comes along to the front door of their domain they’re like 😳😏

this would be a route in the game and you can get 3 routes with Ona:

they kill you and then theirself binding the both of you to their domain

if you’re too nice to them they’ll get too excited and then drug your tea and you’ll be trapped

stay with them

convince them to come with you on your journey

escape their domain, they’ll follow you around making the game much harder(if you lose you’ll either get the first one or they just lock you away in their domain)
