In a commercial-grade hydrochloric acid (HCl) production process, a synthesis unit utilizes a 2000°C top-fired combustion chamber made from impervious graphite (steel-jacketed) to process hydrogen and chlorine. The unabsorbed HCl gases are subsequently directed to a Tail Gas Tower (TGT), where the majority of HCl traces are absorbed. The remaining vent gas, which contains trace amounts of HCl (<5 ppbv) and water vapor, is then vented out of the system.
Challenge:
The customer encountered difficulty in installing a flowmeter for measuring the vent gas, which contains:
Trace amounts of HCl (<5 ppbv).
Water vapor.
Very low gas velocity.
The customer reported that no existing flow measurement solution was capable of handling these specific conditions effectively, particularly due to the corrosive nature of HCl and the low velocity of the vent gas.
Proposed Solution:
After thorough analysis of the customer's requirements and challenges, the expert proposes a customized flow measurement solution that incorporates a HALAR-coated sensor probe.
HALAR coating (perfluoroalkoxy) offers several advantages:
Chemical Resistance: HALAR is known for its excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals, including hydrochloric acid. This makes it an ideal choice for the sensor probe exposed to the corrosive vent gases.
Water Vapor Compatibility: The coating also performs well in environments containing water vapor, preventing issues such as condensation or corrosion in the measurement system.
Durability: The HALAR coating enhances the longevity and durability of the sensor probe, especially in the harsh conditions of the vent gas stream.
The wetted parts of the flowmeter, which come into direct contact with the vent gas, will be coated with HALAR to ensure they can withstand the corrosive effects of HCl and water vapor. This customized solution will allow for accurate flow measurement, even at very low gas velocities, while also ensuring the longevity of the equipment.
The HALAR-coated sensor probe provides a practical and durable solution to the flow measurement challenge in the vent gas stream, offering accurate results while withstanding the harsh chemical and environmental conditions. This customized approach ensures reliable operation, even in a challenging industrial setting where traditional flowmeters would not perform adequately.https://leomi.in/vent-process-gas-flow-measurement-in-chemical-industry/

Some Poetry Writing Tips
Tumblr media
Rules for Writing Good Poetry
There are no officially sanctioned rules of poetry.
However, as with all creative writing, having some degree of structure can help you reign in your ideas and work productively.
Some guidelines for those looking to take their poetry writing to the next level.
Or, if you literally haven’t written a single poem since high school, you can think of this as a beginner's guide on the basics and have you writing poetry in no time:
Read a lot of poetry. If you want to write poetry, start by reading poetry. You can do this in a casual way by letting the words of your favorite poems wash over you without necessarily digging for deeper meaning. Or you can delve into analysis. Dissect an allegory in a Robert Frost verse. Ponder the underlying meaning of an Edward Hirsch poem. Retrieving the symbolism in Emily Dickinson’s work. Do a line-by-line analysis of a William Shakespeare sonnet. Simply let the individual words of a Walt Whitman elegy flow with emotion.
Listen to live poetry recitations. The experience of consuming poetry does not have to be an academic exercise in cataloging poetic devices like alliteration and metonymy. It can be musical—such as when you attend a poetry slam for the first time and hear the snappy consonants of a poem out loud. Many bookstores and coffeehouses have poetry readings, and these can be both fun and instructive for aspiring poets. By listening to the sounds of good poetry, you discover the beauty of its construction—the mix of stressed syllables and unstressed syllables, alliteration and assonance, a well placed internal rhyme, clever line breaks, and more. You’ll never think of the artform the same way once you hear good poems read aloud. (And if you ever get the chance to hear your own poem read aloud by someone else, seize the opportunity.)
Start small. A short poem like a haiku or a simple rhyming poem might be more attainable than diving into a narrative epic. A simple rhyming poem can be a non-intimidating entryway to poetry writing. Don’t mistake quantity for quality; a pristine seven-line free verse poem is more impressive than a sloppy, rambling epic of blank verse iambic pentameter, even though it probably took far less time to compose.
Don’t obsess over your first line. If you don’t feel you have exactly the right words to open your poem, don’t give up there. Keep writing and come back to the first line when you’re ready. The opening line is just one component of an overall piece of art. Don’t give it more outsized importance than it needs (which is a common mistake among first time poets).
Embrace tools. If a thesaurus or a rhyming dictionary will help you complete a poem, use it. You’d be surprised how many professional writers also make use of these tools. Just be sure you understand the true meaning of the words you insert into your poem. Some synonyms listed in a thesaurus will deviate from the meaning you wish to convey.
Enhance the poetic form with literary devices. Like any form of writing, poetry is enhanced by literary devices. Develop your poetry writing skills by inserting metaphor, allegory, synecdoche, metonymy, imagery, and other literary devices into your poems. This can be relatively easy in an unrhymed form like free verse and more challenging in poetic forms that have strict rules about meter and rhyme scheme.
Try telling a story with your poem. Many of the ideas you might express in a novel, a short story, or an essay can come out in a poem. A narrative poem like “The Waste Land” by T.S. Eliot can be as long as a novella. “The Raven” by Edgar Allan Poe expresses just as much dread and menace as some horror movies. As with all forms of English language writing, communication is the name of the game in poetry, so if you want to tell short stories in your poems, embrace that instinct.
Express big ideas. A lyric poem like “Banish Air from Air” by Emily Dickinson can express some of the same philosophical and political concepts you might articulate in an essay. Because good poetry is about precision of language, you can express a whole philosophy in very few words if you choose them carefully. Even seemingly light poetic forms like nursery rhymes or a silly rhyming limerick can communicate big, bold ideas. You just have to choose the right words.
Paint with words. When a poet paints with words, they use word choice to figuratively “paint” concrete images in a reader’s mind. In the field of visual art, painting pictures of course refers to the act of representing people, objects, and scenery for viewers to behold with their own eyes. In creative writing, painting pictures also refers to producing a vivid picture of people, objects, and scenes, but the artist’s medium is the written word.
Familiarize yourself with myriad forms of poetry. Each different form of poetry has its own requirements—rhyme scheme, number of lines, meter, subject matter, and more—that make them unique from other types of poems. Think of these structures as the poetic equivalent of the grammar rules that govern prose writing. Whether you’re writing a villanelle (a nineteen-line poem consisting of five tercets and a quatrain, with a highly specified internal rhyme scheme) or free verse poetry (which has no rules regarding length, meter, or rhyme scheme), it’s important to thrive within the boundaries of the type of poetry you’ve chosen. Even if you eventually compose all your work as one particular type of poem, versatility is still a valuable skill.
Connect with other poets. Poets connect with one another via poetry readings and perhaps poetry writing classes. Poets in an artistic community often read each other’s work, recite their own poems aloud, and provide feedback on first drafts. Good poetry can take many forms, and through a community, you may encounter different forms that vary from the type of poem you typically write—but are just as artistically inspiring. Seek out a poetry group where you can hear different types of poetry, discuss the artform, jot down new ideas, and learn from the work of your peers. A supportive community can help you brainstorm ideas, influence your state of mind as an artist, and share poetry exercises that may have helped other members of the group produce great poetry.

The Science of Discovering the Past: Geophysical Archaeology
Tumblr media
By Glab310 - Own work, CC BY 4.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=113524155
While much of archaeology involves unearthing artifacts, knowing where to find those sites requires research at the surface, as does mapping the site. Geophysical surveys help archaeologists know where to focus their efforts and help them avoid fruitless digs where no artifacts or remaining structures lie below the surface as well as avoiding the destruction of sites that are culturally sensitive, such as cemeteries.

There are many methods used to map below the surface, some of which can be done with little training while others meld multiple methods for a more complete map of what's under the surface. Those techniques that are more specialized were adapted from those used to explore for minerals. Mineral surveys seek to know what is deep beneath the surface and archaeological sites are relatively near the surface. These surveys also are focused on larger structures that would take a long time to unearth.

Various methods of performing geophysical surveys and reveal different information. Metal detectors can be used to find caches of metal, but they don't give detailed information of what is below the surface. They can be used to discover new places to focus studies on. They work by inducing eddy currents, or a looping current between the detector and the metal in the ground, which causes a change in how the current flows in the machine, resulting in a signal being reported to the user, either through sound or visual output. Many locations have regulations or laws that dictate how metal detectors can be used and the ownership of those items found.

A more precise form of the this falls into two types: Electrical resistance meters and electromagnetic conductivity. Electrical resistance meters work by inserting probes into the soil through which electrical currents are passed and the resistance of the ground around them is detected, revealing the structures beneath as things like stone have different resistance than the soil around them. Electromagnetic conductivity is similar to metal detection in that a magnetic field is created by an electric field of a known frequency while detectors pick up the change. These detectors and currents are stronger than those of metal detectors with a related increase in size of the detector.

Ground-penetrating radar uses electromagnetic pulses to detect what is under the surface in a way similar to how radar works in other applications. The pulses are reflected off items under the surface and recorded by the detector. It's possible to discover how things are layered beneath the surface because of the differences in reflections.

Lidar is an optical technique that uses light, usually lasers, to map the land. It has the ability to penetrate foliage, such as forest canopies, and allows features beneath the surface to be distinguished. This also allows features that are too large to be distinguished from the ground to be mapped. Lidar has the additional benefit of being easily integrated into Geographical Information Systems, integrated computer hardware and software systems that are used to analyze and visualize geographic data.

“quirk assessment? but…what about the entrance ceremony? the orientation?” you heard a girl with brown hair say.
you watched as aizawa's eyes narrowed, his expression deadpan as he addressed the girl. "if you're going to become a hero, you don't have time for such leisurely events."
"ua's selling point is how unrestricted its school traditions are," aizawa continued, his gaze sweeping across the group. "that's also how the teachers run their classes."
you felt the tension in the air ratchet up a notch. the excited chatter from earlier had died down, replaced by an uneasy silence.
aizawa outlined the different activities - the 50-meter dash, grip strength, and long jump.
"alright, let's start with the ball throw," aizawa said, handing you a softball. "y/n, you're up first. show us what you can do."
stepping forward, you gripped the smooth ball in your palm. closing your eyes for a moment, you steadied your breathing, pushing aside the rising tide of anxiety. when you opened them, your gaze locked with aizawa's, finding a quiet reassurance in his steady expression. you imagined the other students' eyes boring into your back, their expectations a crushing pressure. what if you failed? what if your quirk lashed out, hurting someone?
no, stay calm.
you glanced at the distant treeline, wondering how far you could throw without your quirk. not far enough, surely. not impressive enough for ua. the power inside you stirred, a restless beast pacing its cage. it whispered promises of strength, of greatness, but you knew its true nature. destructive. uncontrollable. dangerous.
your feet felt rooted to the ground, your arm refusing to move. you turned to aizawa, eyes pleading. "aizawa-san…i can’t —"
"oi, y/n!"
katsuki's voice cut through your spiraling thoughts like a knife, sharp and insistent. "what the hell are you doing? stop wasting time and throw the damn ball already!"
you flinched at his harsh tone, but beneath the anger, you caught a flicker of something else in his crimson eyes. it was gone before you could decipher it, replaced by his usual scowl.
you took a deep breath, steadying yourself. closing your eyes, you reached deep within yourself, feeling for that familiar well of energy. it surged to meet you, eager and hungry, but this time you didn't recoil. instead, you embraced it, letting it flow through your veins like molten gold.
you activated your quirk. your skin tingled as the power gathered in your palm, a black veil swirling around the softball. you could feel the weight of it, the dense mass compressed into that tiny sphere. you let out a breath you didn’t know you had been holding as you realized the ball was still intact, barely touching your palm from the sheer force between, but intact.
with a flick of your wrist, you reversed the gravitational field in your hand. the softball, suddenly released from the crushing force, shot upwards like a rocket, vanishing into the clear blue sky. it hung there for a moment, suspended at the apex of its arc, before plummeting back towards the earth.
the class watched in stunned silence as aizawa held up his phone, the glowing numbers ticking upwards at a dizzying pace. "942.6 meters," he announced, his voice cutting through the hush.
a ripple of shock ran through the students, their eyes wide with disbelief. you stood there, arm still outstretched, hardly daring to move. had you really just done that? the power still thrummed through you, a heady rush of adrenaline and something else, something fierce and exhilarating.
you met aizawa's gaze, seeing the barest hint of a smile tugging at his lips. you allowed yourself to return it.
a second later, the world tilted, the ground rushing up to meet you as your vision swam. your arm felt like lead, the fingers that had gripped the ball tingling with a dull ache. it was like a dam had broken within you. the after-effects of the exertion slammed into you with a vengeance. the anxiety that had clawed at you all morning, the fear of your quirk lashing out, the sheer effort of focusing so much of your strength towards controlling that raw power - it all came crashing down in one debilitating wave.
your head spun, the cheers of your classmates a muffled roar in your ears. panic clawed at your throat, the taste of bile rising in your mouth.
pathetic.
a strong hand gripped your arm, an anchor in the storm that threatened to consume you. you heard aizawa’s voice, so far away. "easy there," he said, his voice low. "you did well. take a seat, catch your breath."
you’re wasting your potential.
but sitting down felt like defeat. you couldn't let them see you like this, weak and trembling. not after you'd just thrown the damn ball further than anyone thought possible. you didn’t even use your power for more than three seconds, at most.
you’re shie hassaikai blood.
you gritted your teeth, pushing back against the insidious whisper.
"i'm fine," you forced out, your voice hoarse. "i can do the next test."
aizawa's brow furrowed. he saw the strain etched on your face. "listen to your body, y/n. recovery girl can—“
you're good for nothing but killing.
"no!" the word ripped from your throat, raw and desperate.
aizawa's gaze held yours. "bakugo. take her inside and make sure she gets some water."
you turned to see katsuki standing there, a scowl etched on his face, but his eyes held a trace of… was it worry?
katsuki didn't wait for another word. he grabbed your arm, surprisingly gentle, and steered you towards the building.
"katsuki," you mumbled, trying to catch your breath. "i can walk myself."
he snorted. "don’t be stupid."
you wanted to argue, but the world tilted again, sending a wave of nausea crashing over you. you bit back a groan, leaning more heavily on his arm.
finally, you reached the cool haven of the building. katsuki pushed open the door and deposited you onto a nearby bench.
he grabbed a paper cup from a nearby dispenser and filled it with water, holding it out to you. you took it gratefully, downing the cool liquid in a single gulp.
"you scared the crap out of me back there," katsuki blurted out, his voice surprisingly quiet.
you raised an eyebrow, surprised by his bluntness. "scared you?"
"yeah," he muttered, looking away. "you looked like you were gonna pass out, or worse."
a small smile tugged at your lips.
"i'm okay now," you assured him, handing the empty cup back. "thanks for the water."
he threw the cup into a nearby trash can before shoving his hands into his pockets, avoiding your gaze. "so," he mumbled, "about that quirk of yours…"
"it's called nihility," you started, voice barely above a whisper. "i can... create these fields of gravitational distortion. it can tear apart anything; erase them.”
"so that's why you were so scared to use it," he finally muttered, eyes fixed on a spot on the floor.  a beat of silence, then, "why didn't you tell me?"
the question hung heavy in the air. you thought of the man, his lifeless eyes staring blankly; the violence all caused by your hands…
the words wouldn't form.  they choked you, trapped in your throat like a scream waiting to be released.
you traced a circle on the wooden bench, your nails digging into the soft material harder than you intended.
“if you can’t say it, then don’t.” katsuki said roughly. “i’m heading back.”
you pushed yourself off the bench cautiously, a hand clasped tightly on the bench’s wooden edge in case dizziness threatened to take over again.
you looked up to see katsuki hovering by the doorway, a frown etched on his face. "you coming or not?"
hesitantly, you straightened. "yeah, i'm coming." you weren't sure if you were ready to face the others again, the weight of their curious stares, the unspoken questions hanging in the air. but the alternative was staying here alone, lost in your own head, and that wasn't appealing either.
as you walked back outside, the sunlight seemed harsher, the cheers of your classmates grating on your nerves. you tried to blend into the background, keeping your head down, but the whispers followed you like a shadow.
"did you see that throw? it was insane!"
"who is she, anyway?"
"maybe she's a recommended student."
you flinched at the last comment. you weren't sure if you wanted the scrutiny that came with being a recommended student, especially not for a quirk like yours.
“a-are you okay?”
you turned to see a boy with unkempt green hair and freckles running towards you with a distressed expression.
“ your quirk was so cool; i’ve never seen anything like it! i was so worried when you almost collapsed though, is your quirk hard to control? mine is also-”
"give her some space, damn deku. can't you see she's not in the mood for a lecture?" katsuki interjected with that harsh tone of his that you were still not used to.
the freckled boy deflated slightly, his smile dimming. "oh, right, sorry! i didn't mean to pry. i just..."
“no, it’s fine,” you reassured, “you’re midoriya izuku, right?”
"y-yes, that's me! and you're…y/n? l-last name...?"
the question hung in the air, unwelcome.
“just y/n is okay.” you said, forcing a smile.
the next few tests passed in a blur. you went through the motions, your body on autopilot while your mind wrestled with the aftermath of unleashing your quirk. the grip strength test was a joke, the meter straining to display the crushing force in your hand. the long jump… well, let's just say the landing zone needed some serious repairs after your attempt.
you glanced around, taking in the confident expressions of your classmates, the way their eyes gleamed with excitement. this was what they were born for. this was their dream.
people in this world were not born equal. for people like you, some dreams were simply not meant to be chased.
hero course, huh.
what the hell were you even doing here?

━━ .  UP FOR BABYSITTING?。forger family & my oc!!
Tumblr media
It was another day; a day for work as usual on weekdays for catherine collison. but this time, she's a little late than what she had anticipated.
and she usually is not late.
‘damn, i'm gonna be late for late for work. this was not written in my schedule!’ frustratedly, she thought while taking a glance at her watch which showed “8:53 AM”. this made catherine even more frustrated and slightly stressed.
the soles of her heeled chelsea boots clack on against the pavement, quite hastily like an old typewriter since she was in a hurry to her workplace—yet she strides with straight and firm steps, being careful where she walked. her long and wide, light beige skirt flowing and moving along with her legs. the sunlight reflects on the lens of her golden-framed glasses, consisting of matching golden eyeglass chains attached, which she adjusts her glasses by pushing them back slightly.
a passageway is what she sees to her right, catherine memorized the map to where this passage lead to; nearby her workplace. and off she went, going in quickly as she now makes her presence known with her walking.
turning a corner, she halts abruptedly—all of a sudden—the usual stern face expressing the slightest surprise at the scene before her. distanced by just a few meters, a group of older men are seen harassing a little girl, whom wore a fearful look.
now that just won’t do, especially not in her presence.
without another thought, the pale caramel-haired woman rushes forward and grasps the pink-haired girl's arm to move her away from the older males to place herself in between, whilst gazing sternly like a teacher she used to be.
the men weren't so intimidated by the collison's actions—even if one was startled—and still held their heads up in pride and bravery before the other. meanwhile, the younger female grasps her small hands on to other female's leg, gripping tightly in fear with drops of tears welled up in her big green eyes while hiding behind catherine's leg.
“so,” she begins, speaking firm and condescendingly to the group of males, “what is your business with this girl? So prideful to harass a young girl, how lowly of you all to do so.” catherine doesn't break her firm expression, eyebrows furrowed as she expresses unhappiness to the others' actions.
subtly, the ex-teacher tries to walk away along with the young girl from the gang, as to avoid any violence being received and sent from both sides.
however, the guys only laugh haughtily and pull out weapons such as guns and knives to make themselves a threat. this, of course, causes the girl to cry and sob afraidly while her grip tightens around the older female's calf.
“WAAAAAAHH!! MAMA! PAPA!!”
“tch,” the woman clicks her tongue at the child's cries, briefly bending down to pick her up and shush her quietly for comfort. weighing her decisions in her head, catherine quickly decides to run yet one of the men grabs her arm, attempting to remove the short-haired girl out of the ponytailed woman's arms.
“ah,” the unknown guy chuckles briefly with a sly and greedy grin, “sorry miss, but we’re gonna take that little one there. she goes to that big fancy school, and that outfit could make us lots of money-”
without hesitating, catherine aims her leg quickly to the man's head to knock him out against the wall beside them. of course, this alerts the others as they ready their weapons as well as catherine—who pulls out a firearm hidden behind her back with her free hand, the other preoccupied with holding the little girl.
she fires a few bullets, hitting some of the men in some places, and dodges the bullets that were sent towards her directions—making sure that the kid doesn't get shot at. catherine also makes sure to sprint away every so often from the troop as fast as possible as the men try to reach her, not wanting to get into violence so quickly with a child around. she smashes one of them into the wall with her leg, shooting another in the shoulder, and giving another one a harsh roundhouse kick to the jaw to put him unconscious. all of this fast and quick moves of catherine made the young girl's head kind of spin.
before anything else could happen as the older female readies herself, the younger girl looks up at you with a reassuring and happy look in her child eyes, “don't worry, miss stranger lady!” smiling, the kid continues her sentence, “mama and papa are here!”
with that, a man and woman—catherine assuming to be the child's father and mother—reaches the scene and immediately took care of the mem within a matter of seconds. after all was finished, the couple turns to the females.
catherine carefully settles down the young girl, who quickly ran over to her parents to engulf them into a hug of relief. the two adults appeared intimidating for a moment before melting at the sight of their little girl all safe, both of them embracing their daughter—the father using only one arm to hug her back.
as the light caramel-haired woman sheathed her firearm away and adjusts her glasses up a bit, for a moment, she notices the death glare she was receiving from the black-haired woman over the little girl’s head—probably assuming that the glasses-wearing woman was a threat—which catherine was completely unfazed about. however, that changes quite quickly when the young child tells her mother and father about what occured just now, “mama! papa! this lady saved me! she came just in time and fight the bad guys but they were so scary!!”
this causes the expression on the woman’s face to morph into a look of realization as she approached and bowed to catherine in gratitude, “ah! sorry about that miss, but thank you for saving our miss anya.”
‘anya?’ catherine raises a brow for a split second at how quickly the mother switchss but doesn't question things any further,  ‘so that must be that kid's name..’ straightening the cuffs on her dark-colored blouse and slightly clearing her throat, she nods in response. “ah, it's certainly no problem to me. though it'd be a less of an issue if you kept a more attentive eye on your daughter—so you wouldn't lose her again. as long as she is safe.”
“yes!”
glancing at the man, who anya was hugging tightly as he held her with one arm, stood a little bit behind the black-haired woman as he seemed to be assessing catherine with very aware eyes. this made catherine slightly suspicious of, before he walked over and shook the light-haired woman's hand with a polite smile.
“yes, thank you very much for protecting our daughter from harm. i am loid forger, this is my wife, yor, and our daughter-”
the father, loid, was interrupted by his daughter exclaiming her name, “anya forger!” all with throwing her arms dramatically into the arm, a childish smile on her round face.
this made yor and loid chuckle a bit at their child's antics, while catherine shook his hand in return as she smiled a bit before introducing herself. “yes, yes, i know that now. my name is catherine collison, its a fine pleasure to meet you, forgers.” as catherine said that, she places a hand over her chest as her smile disappears into a more professional and formal expression, standing straighter than ever.
this makes yor smile at the other woman, “its really nice to meet you too, miss collison!”, loid smiles back in reply as he puts anya back down to her feet.
for a few moments, anya looked to her parents and then turning to the lady who rescued her. the pale caramel-haired lady could almost see that something like gears were turning in her head before it clicked.
then—all of a sudden—she clasps her hands together, intertwining her fingers, as anya dons a decent saddened expression while she swayed towards the former teacher, “oh, how anya wishes to have a babysitter...~ mama and papa can be so busy and anya is always at home with nobody else but with doggy...~”
the scene coming from anya slightly baffles collison, from how the younger girl was acting; she was definitely trying to get the older to be her babysitter. catherine sighs to herself, internally.
“they would pay really well, but how will anya ever find someone to babysit me?” and then, she leans over against catherine's leg, causing the other to hold anya up right to prevent her from falling over to the floor.
the pale brunette mutters a quiet, “babysitter…?” to herself, with only the blond man picking up on it.
meanwhile, loid deadpans while yor sweatdrops at the younger's antics, but before yor could sputter any apologies for her daughter's actions, catherine stands up and pushes her glasses her to the bridge of her nose and turns to the couple with a firm and professional look.
“my apologies, but i'm afraid i can't accept doing babysitting work for your child.” the response coming from catherine makes the forgers look saddened—though anya looks more upset than anything while loid's face hardens in sternness. regardless, she continued, “i have work to do, and-...” then, realization pops into catherine's mind before her eyes widen as she checks her watch for a moment. as yor notices this and looks worried, she tries to ask the other while walking closer to her.
“uhm, are you okay?—”
the mother was startled when the latter pulls out a notebook to hastily write down something with a pen that appeared out of nowhere, ripping off the page, and shoved the paper in yor's arms—before sprinting off forward.
“my apologies, forgers! but, I'M LATE!” was the last thing catherine said to the forgers before disappearing when she rounded the corner, her long pale caramel-hued hair—that was tied up into a half-braided ponytail—flowing with the wind as the breeze made her brown coat fly upwards to show her baclside—which revealed the sheathed firearm that she secretly hid behind her back. loid, yor, and anya could only state where she ran off to with blank and shocked faces.
recovering from the sudden shock, yor takes a look at the piece of paper that was shoved to her so roughly—which had crumpled the paper quite a bit.
yor reads what had been written down out loud for loid and anya to listen, she could notice the neat yet messy handwriting catherine wrote in because of how quick she was. the note has written a phone number at the top and a simple paragraph at the bottom that said: “i'll have to think about it. please call me if you want to talk about it, forger. but i have work that extends from 8:50 AM to 5:60 PM.”, signed with “—c. catherine” alongside a unique signature. the note was quite messy yet still appeared formal and professional.
even after the forgers had reached home, loid still thought about what catherine had told them, thinking about what anya said earlier. considering that franky always complained about looking after anya—only to shut up when loid brings up something franky looked forward to/something that franky wants...
...to be frank, maybe they did need a babysitter.

A Tentacool Story
Here's chap 5. I lack anything witty to add to this section so please insert your own joke here.
_________________________ Heh, that was pretty good.
Chapter 5: A cool trip
'Ocean man, take me by the- No wait, I don't have those anymore... Tentacool, take me by the tentacle? No, that's barely even a rhyme.' *sigh*
They toss another mud ball into the ever elongating mud pathways. It's looking like the world's most depressing slip and slide for all the effort he's put in. But at least these noodle arms are getting better at throwing. Almost made it to the next pond over.
'I'm so bored, the prof noticed those things finally, but he's not even bothering to look into it. Where's your sense of curiosity? Aren't you a scientist?' *splat*
A full month came and went and still no closer to returning to normal. There wasn't even a search party, let alone an investigation into where he went. Fixed deep in a depressive episode, the jellyfish was practicing his moves again. Although it's less practicing in battle and more using "Constrict" over and over again on the mud.
'The local pokemon have been getting more active lately, sometimes joining in making a few balls and setting them near the shore. A handful of talented Magikarp have even made a game of trying to get their mud balls farther than the others, making those two lines even farther than I had intended. So much for spelling out "Help!", but it is a fun distraction from the crushing dread of being forgotten by everyone I know and love, so I join in whenever I’m not fishing or sleeping.'
'Haven't seen that Krabby around lately either, thankfully. It's trainer must be keeping it close after one too many complaints or something. A crustacean like that is bound to get into more trouble than it's worth.'
*drip*
'Hm? Rain?' The pokemon all stop their game and look up. Soon, the drizzle becomes a full rainstorm. Most of them dive deeper and I'm about to join them when I notice a faint trail of mud streaming into the lake.
Looking to the two long mounds, I see a small stream of rainwater flowing in the direction of the lake. Curiously, I swim over and carve a small groove into the softening dirt, allowing some lakewater to push between the walls we've been making over this past month...!
"All of you! Come out! It's time!" Hearing the Tentacool's words, a group of fish float up and watch intently.
"You’re all tired of being in this tiny lake, same as me. Well the rain has given us a chance, we’re gonna make our own path!!"
As he flexes his jelly body, water pumps up and into the groove. Dirt flies away and Tentacool pushes more and more into the walls. Soon, he's managed to get enough water into this channel that he’s able to swim… kinda, and the others are beginning to take notice. Following his lead lines of pokemon begin joining in the effort, giving him a strong push from behind and forcing the trench deeper as they swim, allowing more lake water to flow into makeshift channel.
"Yes, that's it! All together now!" 'If I remember anything from walking to these damn ruins every day, there's a stream right by here! If we can just dig in a little farther, just a few meters, we'll be able to hop from pond to pond and reach it! And once we hit the stream, all that's left is-'
'the ocean!'

The Remaining Dust Trio (CER-24)
As time passed, the sandstorm also showed signs of weakening.
Noctis: Damn it, where did he go...
Tumblr media
A few dozen meters away in front of Noctis, a dark shadow could be vaguely seen.
He was also moving forward with difficulty towards that destination. After all, in such weather, normal people would choose to find a place to escape the wind and sand.
Of course, if the person is still alive.
Noctis: You can't be stupid that you can't even find a shelter from the wind, right?
BANG--
Amidst the whistling yellow sand, there was an unusually clear gunshot, and the source of that sound was right in front.
???: Who?
Noctis: I also want to ask who you are!
???: ...Come on.
Noctis: Huzi?
Huzi: Yes, it's me.
Noctis trudged through the knee-deep wind and sand. He lifted his legs out only for a moment, and his footsteps were immediately buried in new sand.
Tumblr media
When Noctis finally reached the source of the sound, Huzi was leaning against a hard rock with his back still holding the pistol he had just used as a warning in his right hand, smiling bitterly at Noctis.
Noctis: [Beep] Are you tired of running around chasing some thief in this weather?
Huzi: Ha... that's right...
Huzi struggled to support his body, and the wind and sand slipped from his body. Only then did Noctis see clearly that there were two people lying beside him, but they had no signs of life.
Noctis: How is this going?
Huzi: These two thieves were chased by me and killed...
Huzi: If you do something like this, you have to be prepared... to be retaliated against.
Noctis: Your body temperature is very low... Hey, this wound...
Noctis noticed the Huzi was almost in a state if shock, and his trouser legs and body were stained red with yellow sand and blood.
The storm gradually subsided, like blood flowing silently in the yellow sand.
Huzi: I... just now, I dreamed of him.
Huzi: We were in that park together... and... he... that's all that's left...
Noctis: Hey! Hey!
Blood loss and hypothermia were talking away his consciousness.
Although he is not interested in medical knowledge as all, Noctis also learned more or less some first aid knowledge from his long-term fight side by side with Vera.
Huzi: Ugh...
Huzi tried his best to smile and wanted to hand the film and movie camera to Noctis, but his stiffened limbs could not complete the instructions of his consciousness.
Noctis: I don't want these things from you, you can keep them yourself.
Noctis: You are a man, don't die in this miserable place like a weakling without saying a word.
Noctis tore off a piece of cloth from Huzi's trousers and temporarily tied it on the wound on his thigh.
Noctis: Hey! Look at me! Don't fall asleep!
Noctis: Now I will carry you back to find Vera to give you first aid, do you understand?
Noctis held Huzi's head and patted his face gently to keep him awake.
Noctis used to perform many shady missions and had to kill many people with his own hands.
The "last moment" flashing in many people's eyes, some are despair, some are fear, and some are anger.
For a moment, Noctis also saw the "last moment" in the eyes of Huzi.
But it's not despair and fear, nor anger, but a stubborn hope of life.
Huzi: [Beep beep] I am not... a softie...
Noctis: That'll do!
Noctis looked around and found that the storm had completely stopped.
He checked Huzi's state of consciousness one last time, and when he was about to carry him on his back, he saw a dagger stuck in the corpse at his feet.
Noctis pulled out the dagger without hesitation, and the place where the dagger was originally inserted was immediately buried by the yellow sand on the corpse.
Noctis: This is yours, right?
Huzi nodded.
Noctis put the dagger into Huzi's already stiff hand, squeezed his hand hard, and made his hold the dagger tightly as well as the film and movie machine in his arms.
Noctis: Who.
No.21: That's Noctis.
About the same direction as where Noctis came, under the night, the figures of No.21 and Vera became increasuigly clear.
Only then did Noctis notice that the raging sandstorm had subsided.
Noctis: Hey, Vera is here too.
Noctis patted Huzi's face again, but harder than before, because he knew that once he lost consciousness in this situation, he might sleep forever.
Huzi: ......
Huzi didn't speak any more and just nodded.
Tumblr media
No.21: Noctis and Huzi are here!
No.21: Captain, it smells of blood...
Vera: You owe me two lives now.
Vera skillfully took out the first aid kit and began to give emergency treatment to Huzi.
Vera: This strap?
Noctis: Mine.
Vera: Well, yes, it's still far from passing, but it's enough.
Vera: The wound is full of sand... we still need to clean it first and find something for him to bite on.
But Huzi shook his head and rejected Vera's proposal.
Huzi: The pain... can wake me up a bit.
Vera: Hm.
Vera didn't hesitate any longer and immediately started debriding, anti-inflammation and bandaging.
Vera: You're really lucky that you didn't injure your femoral artery.
After the simple bandaging, Vera hung a bag of substitute plasma on Huzi and stared at the light liquid flowing into his body bit by bit.
Noctis: Is this enough?
Vera: This can only be done for now. Originally, there was no need to rescue and treat human patients in this mission.
Vera: It seems that it is necessary to carry a spare with you...
Noctis: So... how did you find this place?
No.21: After the storm weakened, No.21 sensed the smell of Huzi.
No.21 stood next to Huzi and looked at him with concern.
She gently picked out a needle-like object in the Huzi's top. It would be difficult to detect it unless you looked carefully.
Noctis: What's this?
Vera: For positioning, you also have it on you.
Noctis: Huh? I have it too? Where?
No.21: Because this mission would enter a signal blind spot, the captain arranged for me to bring a positioning device.
No.21: But the furthest positioning distance is only three kilometers.
Noctis: So that's why...
Vera: Why are his body temperature and blood pressure still not rising...
Vera: Noctis, go get some fire. His body temperature is too low. It will kill him before he loses blood. Don't let him freeze to death here.
Noctis: Tsk... During the fight on the road, we ran out of explosives...
Vera: I brought this to you.
Vera pointed to a bag of homemade explosives next to her flag gun.
Vera: Something left by the guy who repaired the car before.
Noctis: No, there's no way to take this thing apart and make a fire.
Noctis: They were all old black and yellow gunpowder... they only lit up for a moment, so they couldn't be used to make a fire.
Vera: Aren't you the best at this?
Noctis: Yeah, that's why I knew this thing couldn't be used to make a fire.
???: ------
Uncoordinated noises suddenly came from not far away.
Many infected bodies with different shaped emerged from the sand one after another, as if they had just escaped from the sandstorm and sneaked underground. Now that the storm subsided, they became active again.
Noctis: It's really hard to proceed.
No.21: Not just here, but around... there are many more.
Noctis: Then... should we retreat?
Vera: It's not easy to let go if the wounded.
Noctis: Then it seems there is only one choice.
Noctis instinctively touched the bomb on his waist, but unexpectedly touched a strange glass of bottle.
Noctis: Liquor?
No.21: Hm.
Noctis: Oh, by the way, this was given to me by the previous tavern keeper.
Vera: Isn't this Huzi's?
Noctis held the bottle of clear and transparent liquor, and as if recalling something, he turned around and squatted in front of Huzi.
Noctis: Hey, say, are you afraid of death?
Huzi: ......
Huzi: I owe... Zach a life.
Huzi: Now... I owe... you two lives again.
Noctis: Zach? Who's Zach?
Huzi shook his heard, but his eyes were filled with tears.
Huzi: I'm not afraid of death.
Huzi: But I want to live.
With a pop, Noctis lifted the cork of the wine bottle and handed the wine to Huzi.
Huzi's hand was still a little stiff from the cold and blood loss, but he still took the wine Noctis handed him, took a swig, and handed it back to Noctis.
Noctis said no more, just patted Huzi on the shoulder, turned around and picked up the explosives next to Vera.
All the hopes in his eyes have been conveyed to Noctis.
Noctis: Just like before, blow all these offal to pieces.
Noctis tied the wine and gunpowder in his hands together and threw them towards the infected body that was approaching not far away--
Wine and fire, iron and blood, can forge death and ignite new hope.

The definitions of the terms you provided in the context of flow meters are as follows:
Capability to Measure Low and High Flows: This refers to the flow meter's ability to accurately measure gas flow rates across a wide range, from very low to very high levels. A flow meter must be capable of handling both extremes of flow conditions without compromising accuracy or performance. This is essential for processes that experience varying flow rates.
Compatibility to the Size: This refers to the suitability of the flow meter's size, capacity, and design for the specific installation location. Depending on whether the installation site is confined (small) or spacious (large), the components of the flow meter, including its housing and sensor size, must be compatible with the space available. Ensuring that the device fits and functions properly is key to its effective operation.
Durability to Environment and Hazards: This refers to the ability of the flow meter to operate reliably under various environmental conditions (e.g., temperature extremes, humidity, vibrations) and potential hazards (e.g., exposure to corrosive gases, explosive environments). The sensor must be constructed from materials that withstand these conditions, ensuring long-term, trouble-free performance.
Exact Calibration to Actual Process Conditions: This is the requirement that the flow meter is calibrated to accurately measure the flow under the specific conditions of the process. Calibration ensures that the readings are precise and reliable, taking into account factors such as pressure, temperature, gas composition, and other operational parameters. This is critical for maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of the measurement, especially in processes where flow is critical for control or safety.
These factors together ensure the flow meter is effective, reliable, and accurate in a given process.https://leomi.in/challenges-in-gas-flow-measurement/

The Role of Conical Strainers in Protecting Pumps and Valves
Tumblr media
Protecting pumps and valves from debris during system startup ensures reliable operation and avoids costly downtime. New or modified pipelines often carry leftover construction materials—like rust, welding slag, and scale—that can seriously damage sensitive components. This is where conical strainers play a critical role.
What Are Conical Strainers and Why Are They Important?
Conical strainers (temporary cone strainers )are cone-shaped mesh or perforated metal filters placed between pipe flanges. They're designed for short-term use during pipeline systems' commissioning or startup phase.
When fluid flows through a newly installed system, it can carry construction debris that may damage pumps, control valves, and meters. Conical strainers capture this debris early on, offering essential protection when the system is most vulnerable.
Why Startup Debris Is Dangerous
New pipeline systems often contain:
Welding slag
Rust particles
Pipe scale
Jointing compound
These materials can lead to:
Abrasion and erosion of the pump and valve components
Clogging of narrow passages and filter elements
Seizing of moving parts due to large debris
Reduced performance and internal leakage
How Conical Strainers Work
The effectiveness of conical strainers lies in their design. Inserted between two pipe flanges, their cone shape offers a large surface area for filtering. As the fluid passes through, solid contaminants get trapped inside or outside the cone—depending on the orientation.
This setup ensures:
High filtration efficiency
Low pressure drop
Easy debris collection and removal
Benefits of Using Conical Strainers
Using a conical strainer during startup provides several advantages:
Protects expensive components from early failure
Extends equipment lifespan by preventing wear
Reduces maintenance costs and emergency interventions
 Prevents unplanned downtime
 Improves overall system reliability
Material Options:
Stainless Steel 304 / 316 (corrosion resistance)
Carbon Steel
Monel and other specialty alloys
Key Specs to Consider:
Mesh/perforation size (determines what particles are captured)
Open area ratio (impacts flow capacity)
Installation Best Practices
To maximize performance:
Orientation: Install the cone upstream or downstream based on system needs.
Sizing: Match pipe diameter, flange rating, and bolt circle.
Sealing: Use appropriate gaskets to ensure leak-free operation.
Temporary Use and Maintenance
Most conical strainers are designed for short-term use. Once the system has been flushed and debris removed, the strainer should be taken out to prevent pressure drop and clogging.
To remove:
Isolate the section
Depressurise the line
Unbolt the flanges
Remove the strainer carefully.
Conical vs. Permanent Strainers
Use Conical Strainers for temporary protection during startup.
Use Permanent Strainers (like basket or Y-type strainers) for ongoing filtration needs.
Industries That Use Conical Strainers
Conical strainers are widely used in industries where clean fluid flow is essential from the start:
 Oil & Gas
 Chemical Processing
 Power Generation
 Marine
Water Treatment
 Food & Beverage / Pharmaceutical
 Pulp & Paper
Final Thoughts: Start Clean, Stay Efficient
A smooth startup sets the foundation for reliable operations. Conical strainers are a cost-effective, temporary filtration solution that protects your pumps, valves, and instrumentation from damaging debris. They help avoid unexpected downtime and reduce long-term maintenance costs.
If you're commissioning a new system, don’t overlook this small but powerful piece of equipment. It’s been the smart way to protect your bigger investments from day one.

Diesel Generator Set Mechanical Blade Oil Transfer Pump Part 2
This article continues to introduce the structure and working principle of mechanical blade type oil transfer pumps and plunger type oil transfer pumps for diesel generator sets.
The fuel consumption of diesel engines varies under different operating conditions. When the load is high, the fuel consumption is high, causing the pressure at the outlet of the fuel pump to decrease. At this time, the plunger is pushed by the plunger spring, increasing the stroke of the plunger and increasing the pump oil volume. On the contrary, as the load on the diesel engine decreases, the fuel consumption decreases, the pressure at the outlet of the fuel transfer pump increases, the plunger stroke decreases, and the pump fuel volume decreases accordingly.
The oil drain hole is used to remove fuel from the gap between the push rod and the pump body, preventing fuel from flowing along the push rod. Insert the tappet into the cam chamber to dilute the lubricating oil in the cam chamber.
The fuel pump is also equipped with a manual fuel pump to remove air from the fuel system. When in use, the handle can be pulled up and down. When the handle is raised, the plunger of the hand oil pump moves upward, and the pressure below the plunger decreases. Fuel enters the fuel valve from the inlet and flows into the upper part of the fuel transfer pump plunger through the oil passage. When the handle is pressed down, the inlet valve closes. The oil pressure above the fuel pump increases, and the check valve is pushed open to pressure the fuel out from the outlet.
The fuel pump is a single acting piston type, installed on the side of the fuel injection spring and driven by an eccentric wheel on the fuel injection pump shaft. Its function is to suck fuel from the fuel tank and supply sufficient fuel to the fuel injection pump at a certain pressure. Before starting the diesel engine, the hand pump on the fuel pump is used to pump oil and remove air from the oil circuit. It can smoothly suck up fuel within 1 meter below the center of the fuel pump within 0.5 minutes. After pumping, the handle nut must be tightened.
The 46 cylinder B series and B series reinforced fuel injection pumps use roller type fuel transfer pumps, while the 12 cylinder B series fuel injection pump is equipped with two roller type fuel transfer pumps with inlet and outlet pipe joints on the left side and a separate hand pump installed at the front end of the diesel engine body.
The working principle of the fuel transfer pump: When the roller and top rod of the fuel transfer pump are at the lowest position of the eccentric wheel of the fuel injection pump, the piston is pushed upward by the action of the spring, and the fuel in the upper chamber of the piston is expelled. At this point, the one-way valve on the oil outlet side closes, and fuel is sent to the fuel filter, creating a space in the lower chamber of the piston The one-way valve of the fuel inlet is opened, sucking in fuel. The eccentric wheel continues to rotate, and the movable chamber begins to move downwards until the roller and top rod come into contact with the highest point of the eccentric wheel. The fuel is squeezed open and enters the upper cavity of the piston through the one-way valve on the outlet side. This cycle continues, sucking in and discharging the fuel. When the positive force of the oil outlet pipeline increases to the point where the oil pressure at both ends of the piston is equal, the piston no longer moves with the top rod to maintain balance, and the oil pump stops working.
Dingbo Power was founded in 1974 and is one of the earliest manufacturers of generators and diesel generator sets in China. If you want get more information, please feel free to send email to [email protected] we will pay highly attention on your question.

Tumblr media
A digital water flow meter with telemetry is a smart, efficient, and reliable solution for industries and utilities that require real-time flow monitoring, accurate data logging, and remote accessibility. Whether you’re working in water distribution, wastewater management, or industrial processing, installing this system properly is crucial for getting accurate readings and maximum performance.
In this step-by-step guide, we’ll explain how to install and set up a digital water flow meter with telemetry, with easy-to-follow instructions and expert tips.
✅ Step 1: Choose the Right Flow Meter Model
Before installation, identify:
The type of fluid (clean water, wastewater, chemicals, etc.)
The pipe diameter and material
Required flow rate range and accuracy
Environmental conditions (indoor, outdoor, high-temp, etc.)
📌 Tip: For most water infrastructure and industrial applications, an electromagnetic digital water flow meter with telemetry is ideal due to its accuracy and no-moving-parts design.
✅ Step 2: Select a Proper Installation Location
The performance of your digital water flow meter with telemetry heavily depends on correct placement.
Key guidelines:
Install on horizontal pipes with a full pipe condition
Maintain straight pipe lengths upstream (minimum 5×D) and downstream (3×D)
Avoid installing near valves, pumps, or elbows
Ensure the location is free from electrical interference
📌 Tip: If installing outdoors, use weatherproof enclosures and secure cable management for telemetry systems.
✅ Step 3: Mount the Flow Meter
Now it’s time to physically install the meter.
🔧 Installation Steps:
Shut off the water supply before cutting into the pipe.
Position the flow meter using flange or threaded fittings, based on the model.
Make sure the flow direction arrow on the meter aligns with actual flow.
Tighten bolts evenly to prevent leaks.
Ensure proper grounding, especially for electromagnetic flow meters.
📌 Tip: Always follow the manufacturer’s installation manual for model-specific instructions.
✅ Step 4: Connect the Telemetry System
Telemetry enables remote monitoring of flow data via GSM, GPRS, or IoT platforms.
📡 Telemetry Setup:
Connect the telemetry transmitter to the signal output of the flow meter.
Insert SIM card or configure Wi-Fi/Ethernet, depending on model.
Set parameters like data transmission intervals, reporting format, and alert triggers.
Test the signal strength and connectivity to ensure stable communication.
📌 Tip: Use a secure, cloud-based telemetry platform to view data from anywhere in real-time.
✅ Step 5: Configure and Calibrate the Flow Meter
Once physically installed, configure the meter through its digital display or remote dashboard.
⚙️ Configuration Includes:
Setting the pipe diameter and fluid type
Zeroing the meter (zero-flow calibration)
Configuring pulse output, 4–20mA analog signals, or MODBUS/RTU output
Checking and confirming flow accuracy
📌 Tip: Many advanced digital water flow meters with telemetry allow remote calibration and diagnostics, reducing the need for site visits.
✅ Step 6: Test and Validate the System
After setup, run a few test cycles to verify system performance:
Check live flow readings against manual measurements
Ensure telemetry data is being received on the cloud dashboard
Validate alarms and alert triggers
Document settings and baseline flow conditions
📌 Tip: Keep a record of all setup parameters for future reference and servicing.
