If AI can’t do human hands it sure as heck can’t do insect anatomy! The texture on the compound eyes is gorgeous, and I love the choice to highlight some of the maxillary setae with white.

“#unrelatable posts” shut up, this is the realest bugpost I’ve ever read. This happens in real-time at research conferences, too. I live for lunch-break morphological taxonomist vs. molecular taxonomist fistfight.

I read a lot of taxonomic papers and learning about new bugs and how to identify them is great and wonderful but a true underrated part of the experience is picking up on the subtle passive aggression between taxonomists who clearly don't like each other very much. "Apparently Johnson thought bug 1 and bug 2 were the same species, which he clearly wouldn't have if he actually examined the specimens" like yes go off king I live for this

Birthday Art!!!! My comfort zone has been broken!!! My Sonic FCs and canons collide!!

I have never liked to put my Sonic FCs together with the canon characters of the franchise, I have never felt comfortable doing that, especially because of the possibility of accidentally altering the personality of the characters... But... Today I wanted to make an exception. Today is my 21st birthday, and since I couldn't think of what to do, I decided that I would finally put Escaloz, Elmet and Polaris together with Team Sonic, being a thank you to this great franchise for having been an important point in my life in these years that I have been alive ♥���♥️♥️
