One of the prettiest and peaceful locations in Ecruteak city was the Bellchime Trail. Due to the tower itself and the other beautiful things to do in the traditional city, there were few that wandered to the trail, making it the perfect place for Morty to meditate and further train his clairvoyant abilities. Deep in his meditations, his Mismagius was keeping watch for him along with aiding him in his work, her voice becoming white noise for the ghost type specialist before she makes a cry signaling that someone was coming.

Expecting one of the monks, he cracks open an eye to greet them, only to be surprised to see a trainer. A chuckle leaves him. A challenger? Or perhaps someone else that was just looking for a lonesome place to pass the time.

"Oh? Rare to see someone else here. Tell me, what exactly were you looking for in this place?"

There were few things that were half as exciting as the prospect of a new transfer student. Withe the waves that the last one made, she was sure that this one from a different region would be a welcome addition to the academy, and she hoped that she would be able to help them on their educational journey.

Once the director left the new student in her care, Lacey gives them a bright smile, eager to show them around. "It's good to meet you. I'm Lacey, a second-year. I hope the two of us can get along, and that I can be of some help as you study and train here at the academy."

For the holidays, and in return of gracious gifts their friends and partners had given them, everyone was here and ready to share the festivities and give everyone gifts of their own.

For Amai, Andrew had gotten his partner a pastel hoodie that reminded him of them the minute he first saw it, a simple pair of outfits for their rabbits. From Yuuki, they had gotten him a small rabbit shaped night light. It seemed like something they'd like. Not only was this a Christmas gift to them, it was also a small thank you gift for the soup they made for him a little bit ago.

For Shion, Reid had gotten him traveling tea set and a small assortment of face masks. They weren't the disposable ones like he normally wore but they had little designs and patterns she thought he'd like. And from Riley, she had gotten him a silly raccoon shirt.

For Yousuke, Riley was somewhat pleased to give him the hunting knife she found. She would have preferred giving him the one she was making at that moment, but time wasn't on her side this time. Knowing well that her sister was going to be giving him more weapons, Reid gave Yousuke an assortment of different first aid items and a hunter's bag to go along with them.

Aika was visibly excited when handing Matsuri her gift, hoping that she'd like an old school horror-themed makeup set. She had another gift in mind but... the mochi did not come out edible.

Alestria had gifts for both Botan and Masao. For Botan, she gave him a kimono haori. And seeing that she wasn't as acquainted with the latter as she was the former, she hoped that Masao would like the bonsai starter kit she had gotten for him.

Admittedly, Akashi did need a bit of help from his mother choosing a gift for Yotsuba but together they settled for a comic book letterman jacket. But that was a gift from him. With the jacket, he also had a few gifts from his mother, the first being a large pecan pie made by herself and the second being a voucher for a few free massage sessions to a massage therapist she always recommend for her pupils.

This is long, so I'm putting it all under a cut for the sake of the dash, but ahhhhhhhhh

From Andrew

"Andie, you didn't have to get me anything. Wah, but Amai is so so happy that you thought about me. Hehe, you really are just the sweetest ever!"

Though, they were a little in awe of just how thoughtful he really was. Amai knew Andrew was a thoughtful guy, but these were just... they were really perfect for them.

"Oh my gosh... these are so cute! Chiffon and Castella will love them, hehe. And this hoodie... you know me so well! It's so cute and perfect, Amai loves it!"

They can't help but to warp their arms around him, humming softly in delight. "Thank you so much, Andie... You're the best."

From Yuuki

Admittedly, they didn't expect anything from Yuuki, so Amai was pleasantly surprised to get something from him, especially when it was so cute!

"Wow, wow, this is perfect! Hehe, Amai knows exactly where to put this, thank you, thank you, Yuu-kun!"

From Reid

"Reid, Merry Christmas..."

Admittedly, he's a little in awe of the traveling tea set. It was perfect for when he was in the mountains and wanted a cup of fresh tea, and he was eager to try it out. Though the face masks were quite interesting to see as well. He couldn't wear them while foraging, sure, but working? The floral masks were perfect for that.

"Thank you... This will be perfect for when we're taken camping by our siblings," he says with a chuckle, even if he knows it's inevitable, but he's looking forward to it, so long as they got to spend time with each other.

From Riley

Oh, that shirt actually manages to get a bark of laughter out of the quieter twin. Admittedly, he's been known to... indulge a bit, and this described that situation perfectly.

"I appreciate the thought. Thank you, Riley."

From Riley

"Woah, damn, this is perfect! Looks great! I can't wait to try it out!"

Holding the blade in his hand, he tests the sharpness with his thumb and smirks a bit when he sees a drop of blood. It was going to be perfect for prepping things out in the wild when he was on longer trips.

"Heh, I'll be sure to take care of this even better than my normal ones. Think I'm going to be carrying it around quite a bit. Thanks, seriously. I really love this.

Though, if he ever found out about the one she wanted to make him, then that one would quickly become the new favorite.

From Reid

"Alright, this is great!"

Given how long he was away from home with some of his trips and how reckless he could be at times, he definitely needed something like this. Plus, more supplies like this kept Shion from getting too worried, which was a great bonus for both of them.

"I'll be sure to take this along on my next trip. Heh, never know when I'm going need to be patched up, ah, but don't worry about that. Thanks a lot! I appreciate it!"

From Aika

"Oh my gosh..."

Matsuri had gotten quite a few gifts this year, but she was utterly floored by just how thoughtful this gift was.

"Thank you so much, I love this! I'll have to come up with some incredible designs with this. It's going to be so great! I can't wait."

While she would appreciate the thought, she would be too intimidated by the inedibility of the mochi to even try it, but it's the thought that counts.

From Alestria

He hadn't expected a gift from Alestria, but he was rather surprised by what she gave him. Admittedly, it was rather perfect for him, and he could easily picture himself relaxing in it while drinking tea outside.

"This is incredibly kind of you. You have my sincere gratitude for such a wonderful gift."

He smiles softly at the sight of the bonsai kit. He had been meaning to get into caring for bonsai, but he never had the time to get anything for it, but he was glad that he now had the chance to try out the hobby.

"This was real thoughtful, thanks, 'preciate this quite a bit."

From Akashi

"Yo, Merry Christmas man!"

She's surprised that he picked something out that was this perfect for her. It was rare her interest in comic books ever came up, but she felt that she should have guessed that he was observant enough to notice or guess it.

"Woah, this is great! Heh, this is going to be great for the rest of the season, thanks so much!"

Looking at the voucher, she was eager to go try it once she needed it, but the pie got her attention, too.

"Oh, man, this looks incredible, tell your mom I said thanks for everyting, too. I can't wait try both of these! Heh, I'll have to share this with my siblings and parents. I'm sure they'll be really thankful for it, too, so can you give her their thanks as well?"

It was pretty rare when Rei got good news from La Primera. Normally, he was pretty hesitant to take on the assignments that she gave him, but for this, he was actually excited. Heading to the academy, he doubles and triple checks the notes that he has along with contacts for help in case they need it for excavation as he notices someone fitting the description enter the building.

"G-good afternoon, a-are you the archeologist that Geeta said was coming? I-it's good to meet you. I'm Rei, the historian working for the league."

"Hey.. You're good animals and stuff, right? Do you mind helping me out with something?" (Yuuki to Gundham :D)

"Kehehe, it appears rumors of my powers has reached even the peaks that you frequent, ice born prince.... Though, you are correct, I have a great affinity with beasts, more so than any mortal could comprehend. Tell me of your goal, and I may aid you in your quest."

Being asked about animals or anything involving animals was certainly a way of getting Gundham interesting in what was going on. Normally, he would say he was too busy to help with anyone, but he remembered how well Yuuki got along with the hounds of the frozen abyss (huskies), and he was curious as to where this was going to go. As far as he knew, Yuuki didn't have any pets or anything.

"Hey Amai, quick question! How do ya feel about birds?"

Andrew had his hands closed together as if he had been holding something in them and was kinda turned away just in case they weren't the best with them. He was excited to show them the little friend he found nearby, he didn't want to freak them out.

"Birds? Oh, they're adorable! Especially the ones that are always up suuuuper early and singing all through the morning! Why do you ask" They ask as they tilt their head to the side.

Amai had a feeling about what was in Andrew's hands, and they were eager to see what kind of bird he was going to show them. Even if they were more of a rabbit kind of guy, they were quite the animal lover, and they would end up falling in love with it right away.

She pouts a little though, she's hardly surprised. There were quite a few guys that were highly embarrassed by this sort of thing, though she didn't really get it when it was just a date. 

“Aww, sorry about that. Though, I'm a little surprised you have shame about it. I heard about you from the other girls, you know.”

While they wouldn't normally get annoyed with a guy, a lot of them were a little annoyed that they didn't get a client that would continue coming to them and went to Airi once more. 

“Hm… though, that's not important right now. Why don't we walk and talk to get to the cafe? It'd be nice to get to know each other on the way, right~?”

"Th-thank you... I-I really appreciate the help..."

Wiping her eyes, she follows him out of the crowd and to somewhere less crowded. He seemed reliable enough that Amai wasn't afraid of getting even more lost, but she was worried about getting into even more trouble with Tomoya. Then again, it was rare that she got punished like this multiple times in a row.

"Um... m-my name is Amai... I-I should have said so earlier, I'm sorry..."

They nod. "Yep! Amai made extra for lunches anyway, soooo there's plenty to share!"

It wasn't the full truth, but it wasn't a lie either. Amai sometimes, out of consideration, made things for their uncle to have on hand, and since their uncle was too busy to pick up the bread they set aside for him, they saw no reason why they couldn't share a few rolls with Andrew.

Amai goes to the back to get it from where they set it aside, getting a cream bread and an anpan roll from the batches before heading back to him.

"Here, here! Amai hopes that you like them!"

Amai really was too sweet for his own good, huh? (Pun fully intended) All of his offers were mighty generous, and really he felt a little awful for overthinking it, but surely giving away all of your hard work like this wasn't the best for business. But they were cool with one another, he'd ration, friends (even new ones sometimes) sometimes give each other things or share with one another.

"I mean.. I don't want ya' givin' away all your good scran.!" His lessening smile betrayed him, even for a moment. "But if you're sure that it's alright then sure.!"

Autumn always brought quite a bit of interesting dishes for them to make that got them rather excited. Pies, cookies, and other fresh produce dishes were what they were the most excited for, and going to an orchard to pick apples seemed like a perfect thing for them!

"Andie, Andie, Andie! Are you free? Amai has something veeery exciting for us to do!" They're practically bouncing with how excited they were about this. "Hehe, how do you like apples? Amai knows of an orchard that we can go to to pick lots and lots at a good price, aaaand we can make lots of tasty treats with them, how does that sound?"

They would make him the treats regardless of if he wanted to go with them to do this or not. The idea of a date to do this only made the idea all the sweeter, but they would understand if he was too busy for it.

While she just liked spending time with her "girlfriend" in general, Matsuri was always more than eager to spend time with her while their pokemon could spend time with them, too.

She tended to jump from studio to studio, but Matsuri's personal one was more than big enough for the two of them to work together, especially when she was helping out Aika with makeovers which was what she was waiting to do while Umbreon and Espeon played. It had been sometime since she could bear seeing the two twin pokemon out together, but Aika... Aika made it all much easier. Something about the sweet girl just made everything easier.

Smiling at the sound of knocking, she quickly gets up to answer it as the two pokemon look up, eager to see if their friend was with her. "Cutie, there you are! Come in, come in, I've missed you so much!"

The moment that Amai heard that Airi and Aika had started going out, they couldn't resist going to Airi to start brainstorming a double date for the four of them. Though, who could really blame them? They heard that Aika and Andrew got along thanks to their shared love of music, and with her dating their best friend? It seemed like the perfect set up.

Once the two of them finally got finished with the planning, they wasted no time in asking out their respective partners on the date, eager to see if the two of them would be interested in this.

Amai: Andie <3 Airi and I were wondering if you wanted to go on a double date with her and Aika! Amai: I'm sure we can find some private time later on, but it could be really fun, what do you think? (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) ？ -- Airi: Hey, sweetie. Are you free? Airi: Amai had this idea for us to go out together with them and Andrew. Do you think you'd be up for it?

Likewise, she thought he was a pretty cool guy. Akashi reminded her quite a bit of the person that she considered her rival… more so in demeanor rather than actual personality given how much more friendly the guy was compared to the samurai. Though, the chance to get to spend more time with the guy was something that Yotsuba was looking forward to in addition to training under Coach Chikako.

As it finishes up, the worst thing that happens during practice is that she has to pick up the slack for a few players that are getting tired which she manages with ease despite the extra work that puts on her. Naturally, when the coach blows the whistle for practice to end, she’s quite tired, though it would be pretty hard to tell with how energetic she just was naturally. 

Bounding back over to the bench where she left her drink, she smiles brightly at Akashi. “All right, guess we’re done for now. Anything else that you need? It'll probably be a bit before my brothers can come pick me up for us to walk home." Knowing Mitsuru, he was likely taking a moment or two to just practice his balance on the ice, and Tsurugi would be opening a booster pack or something that he got from the shop for cheap and getting busy trading in cards that were rare that he already had in his collection.

"Mhm.. Good luck."

Akashi watched her play, taking notes of her performance and some of the things that they've talked about while he continued to record the rest of their practice. Things he was sure his mother would want to know about concerning her training. Athleticism aside, Yotsuba seemed like a cool person to be around. And if his mother would continue to let him handle some of their sessions in her stead, it was nice to know that he'd be able to get along with her.

Given the differences in their style and the way that Chouko stared at her, it was easy for Shiori to guess that the lepidopterist was interested or at least admired her style in one way or another. With her mother being an expert in the style, too, it certainly gave her quite a bit to work with, and the moment she had the chance, she couldn't help but invite her girlfriend over to her home.

"My dearest, welcome." She's beaming as she invites Chouko into her home. While she might normally lead Chouko through her father's entomology collection, there was something far more pressing this time... and that could always come after. "I am glad you found your way without issue. Should we make our way to my room? I have a surprise for you."

Getting makeup in Chouko's shade was a little bit of a challenge without the sweet, enthusiastic girl by her side, but she could manage well enough with a clerk's help. Either way, she was hoping that the guesses to her size were right enough that the clothes her mother found for Chouko to try on would fit right.

Chouko held up a poster board decorated in all the blacks, blues and spider-adjacent stickers the craft store had to offer; "Happy Birthday Kumocchi!" written out in big blackletter font in the center.

In her other hand, she held a somewhat lopsided crocheted black and blue spider, filled with all the passion and effort someone whose never crocheted before can have.

"My dearest...." Shiori's voice, stoic as it normally was, utterly dripped with the sheer affection she looked at the gifts her girlfriend had for her. Were they the most high quality gifts she had ever gotten? No, but that hardly mattered with how much time, thought, and effort that Chouko put into it all.

Taking the little crocheted spider in her hands, she gives him an affectionate pat. "Such a marvelous creation, though I would expect nothing less from you." In return, Shiori can't help but to give her girlfriend a soft kiss, humming as the two of them part. "Would you like to join me in finding a place for him in my room? We can go for lunch after, my dear... my treat, of course."

While the shop was busy this time of year, Amai was more than happy to set aside their free day to spend time with Andrew to do some holiday baking and decorating with their boyfriend. What could they say? With how much they had to do, they had more than enough left over ingredients and supplies already done to make whatever they wanted to.

Getting their personal kitchen set up to get everything ready, they eagerly awaited their boyfriend, wondering if he would bring his best friend or younger sister with him to make this even more fun. They never said that he couldn't, so they were eager to see.
