Crowley's Rank

This one's gonna be controversial, isn't it. Actually, let me pre-empt my rant with (another rant): It's not that I overly mind if Crowley was an Archangel or Dominion or whatever before he Fell. I don't think it makes that much difference... It could perhaps serve some narrative purpose but I don't really see what. To me, it makes no real sense for the story and I do see people using this idea so Crowley can be smarter, more powerful, more insightful, more aware and just you know, full of wisdom and knowledge that Aziraphale should have sat down and learned from a long time ago. This is my main gripe with this HC.

So. Here we go: I am honestly baffled by how people assume and often even claim it is as good as canon that Crowley:

was an Archangel

or even more high up (which I don't think is possible in GO Universe)

knew all Heaven's dirty secrets (and that's why he knows SO MUCH more about Heaven than poor innocent Aziraphale*)

created the Universe

*who a) should have listened to Crowley when Crowley tried to tell him about it or b) Crowley didn't tell him about it because he didn't want to hurt poor innocent Aziraphale with the truth about Heaven

When what we see in canon is (IMO) the opposite of all of that? Also, did Aziraphale somehow forget that Crowley was high up?

We meet this sweet angel in Before the Beginning. He was sent to start up a Nebula in a remote corner of the Universe and he needs a helping hand.

The angel who meets him finds him adorable and enquires whether he designed the pretty *waves hands around* colours and stuff. And Angel!Crowley admits that...well he did not design it as such but... he did have an input! Angel!Crowley does not introduce himself which is definitely a deliberate move on behalf of the writing team; however (to me), it absolutely seems like he's simply too distracted and excited by his project for such proper niceties so he does not notice when his new friend looks a little put out by that.

So. Did Aziraphale know who Crowley was?* I like both yes and no answers... I think a crush at first sight is adorable; after all, Aziraphale's careful demeanour seems to suggest he does not meet carefree happy angels often. But perhaps he did come across him before and was hoping to make his acquaintance properly sometime and look, what luck he was nearby just now...

*Did Aziraphale know who Crowley was in Eden? Absolutely. They recognised each other (and I wonder what happened in the interim we did not see) and Aziraphale carefully waits for the demon to offer his new name.

Did Crowley create the Universe?

No, he started up a nebula, and he's clearly very excited about his job.

Angel!Crowley has not heard of the Earth, the humans, or what the whole project/universe is for, or how long it is planned to last.

That tells me - given that Earth and humans and the 6000 year Plan is literally the goal of it all; that he did not sit high up on the Universe planning committee and if anyone told him about it before, he did not pay attention. Which, honestly, is on brand for ADHD Crowley.

How come Aziraphale knows that certain suggestions and ideas would be unwelcome, should the two of them be overheard?

We don't know. But clearly whatever circles Aziraphale moves in, have alerted him to the fact that suggesting to improve things, would be a bad idea. And he did pay attention to the whole - we are creating a vast Universe to host a tiny planet for a human project that will last 6000 years which then will be destroyed so everyone can enjoy Eternity.

He breaks the news about the Plan to Crowley who is clearly heartbroken about it. Much like the angels designing dinosaurs must have been I expect, working on them just so their bones could be buried in the Earth for a joke.

Next up for the argument for powerful Crowley:

Our lovely husbands aim for a tiny miracle to hide the runaway Archangel and its power creates mayhem in Heaven (and I assume in Hell too).

So why did this happen? I've heard of three possible explanations:

The husbands made it powerful, because they are (or their love is) powerful together, they just did not realise it. And that's my favourite one.

Gabriel inadvertently helped cos he's the Supreme Archangel (unlikely since he can't deal with his angel self while he's a 'Jim' for the rest of the season).

Crowley is so powerful he did it himself. Even though he insisted on making it very small, (I guess he just could not help himself?).

Now, when he quips, how do you know I didn't do it - to the suggestion only a powerful Archangel could do it with Shax... it's just that. A joke. And a way to confuse.

After all, the Archangels laugh at the mere suggestion Az could do it too, but then HE CLAIMS HE DID and they believe him. Kind of.

So I don't think miracles are as clear cut as all that.

And anyway, it's impossible Hell would have forgotten if Crowley had been an Archangel in Heaven and second of all, it was funny, and a typical Crowley retort. Obviously Hell suspected Gabriel did it (and so did Heaven).

Crowley himself seems to think it's THEIR COMBINED fault. (If that is not foreshadowing, especially the way he throws it out there....)

Crowley can stop time.

And that's pretty cool. I wonder who else can do that. But does he have this power/knowledge because of his past high rank or because he worked at building the Universe? (And clearly loved his job?) ---- A small idea to share after a lil chat with my bestie @seaweednpeanuts who suggested that nobody actually knows if Aziraphale can't stop time. Perhaps he can, but he prefers that his darling does it for him. Because their precious dynamic works like that. Aziraphale adores to be indulged and Crowley loves to feel needed.

Ok so I mean... you don't exactly have to be Sherlock Holmes to deduce triumphantly that Crowley was one of those.

Which, given Good Omens is anything but obvious and predictable, is exactly what Crowley is (was) not (yes, that's my HC, obviously).

How did he get to know the passwords then? Oh so many delicious possibilities. And so much more interesting (I think) than - he was so high up he knows everything.

Did he get them cos he wanted to check something? Did he get them for Lucifer and/or 'the guys'? Did he get them for Aziraphale? Did he get them from Aziraphale? Did he find out by mistake cos the 'high ups' did not pay attention to a lowly angel around important documents? Did he simply believe he can open the files?

And one more little thing:

Apparently, God on angel time was very limited if they are both in awe of Job being able to speak to God.

I mean we have no idea if Metatron ever actually speaks to Her, or the Archangels, but this seems to imply these two were not especially important.

And. I like that.

I want them to be two middling nobodies who overthrow the system because they came to love one another. It's such a running theme in Terry Pratchett books too. It's not the ministers and generals who overthrow governments, is it. It's someone in the crowd asking questions, and another someone wanting a proper kiss and deciding they'd wage a war for it. That's how revolutions start.

If I sound in any way disparaging towards Crowley, please note - I am not. But I am disparaging to fanon Crowley who I believe Crowley would despise.

hc robby is gay or bi (if the former i assume the breakup with jake's mom was bc she helped him realise that, no hard feelings, remained good friends).

alas first time he tried his hand at a serious relationship with a man, was right before the covid-19 pandemic. then, the hospital was swarmed and brian, the oc boyfriend was pissed. robby was now spending most days at the hospital, esp after becoming interim chief of er after adamson went on bipap and later - ecmo.

so when he dropped robby off at work for yet another god knows how long shift, he asked robby if he'll be back at a normal hour - which, how should robby know? his mentor is dying and his bf is yelling at him and brian slaps robby right there in the staff parking lot.

and then brian is yelling, saying robby's probably whoring himself out to the nurses, spreading his legs to anyone who'll ask (i hc robby as trans, you don't have to)

so robby breaks it off right there and then - he's too tired for this. brian storms off, mutterring "that's what i get for not dating a real man"

that hurt more that the other stuff even though robby logically knew the guy was just pushing all his buttons, seeing what'll stick. what'll hurt the most.

god, he found it.

robby knows dana and princess saw but he's too tired for that.

he know he just got outed, but he's too tired for that too.

so he clocks in, shoots dana and princess a "don't ask" look - and gets to work.

which is why he hasn't really dated anyone since, and with developing depression he didn't have the mental capacity to.

and maybe, perhaps, after a night of stupid decisions that weren't quite so stupid, wakes up entangled in jack abbott's arms?

And don't we forget that Bobby also has a significant place in Tommy's life. He changed everything at the 118 after Gerrard left (and after at least one interim captain). His great leadership allowed Tommy to focus on himself, which led him to pursue a new career path and to come out.

We all know how a toxic workplace can literaly kill you. Bobby changed everything for Tommy in that aspect.

Also I know some people want to connect Tommy to Abby, but I think Tommy has always been gay. The girlfriend he never brought at whatever work gatherings they had at the 118 under Gerrard never existed. At best, it was a boyfriend he lied about them being a woman, but my hc is that Tommy has always been gay and was very closeted for his safety.

i seem to remember you saying the stars were the best at developing players. is it still the case and who do you think is there with them?

the first question is relatively easy to answer: last year, anders sorensen, a swede, was the head coach of the chicago blackhawks. he was an interim b/c he was their ahl affilliate's coach when their former hc was fired in like. december (?) and is now on their nhl coaching staff but not the hc anymore, who is a different guy (north american i think). can't tell if he was any good because that roster was beyond ass so what can you do

second question... hm. id say they're still pretty good but honestly... scouting and development is a really soft science and ive learned a lot since saying that. imho most actual like Development generally occurs before someone even gets to the nhl, like by the time someone's like 20-22 they're like 90% baked and the vast majority of players are not in the nhl by that point. the art of finding the 90% is probably the much more valuable skill than doing the last 10% of the baking imho? like if you pick some flashy scrub at fifth overall and he never makes it into the nhl because your scouting staff doesn't know what translates then that's not really development or lack thereof, innit. dev also largely depends on the quality and turnover volume of your nhl roster that youve inherited because like if that third line winger spot is spent on veteran #335 with the 6x3 then you can't give Sparky Baby Transition Winger that spot and so he kind of suffers from easier competition in the ahl or way worse minutes in the nhl, which is also not good for him. so you have to have like this perfect balance of turnover and steadiness so they know what kind of circumstances to expect and whatnot, and then you have to have scouts on top of that who know what they're doing, and then everybody has to avoid the kind of life-ruining injury that derails your career at 23, and then you have to kind of do that for a while and even then you might not win a cup because some other scrub was way worse than you when it was convenient to be worse and now the awkward ginger canadian son of god and his boy best friend are stunting on you even though you've made upper-percentile nhlers out of second-round picks for the past 8 years

Y'all keep asking me about headcanons for various things, and the problem is I just don't have many of them 😂 I'm better at "what do you think their thoughts or reactions would be to XYZ?" questions. If I'm coming up with something like a headcanon, at that point it may as well just be me writing a scene in a fanfic. That's the same muscle in my brain such a thing works, I think.

I stand by the cuteness aggression thing though.

As for the REASON we get a highlight of his car, that this is a big thing that has changed in the long interim, I think the whole point is to refer back to Katsuki's desire for status symbols in the first chapter but ESPECIALLY to refer back to Katsuki mouthing off to Endeavor for having a small car as the top hero. It lets Katsuki have one of his dreams unambiguously come true, damn it. (It also emphasizes Katsuki's point about thinking highly enough of oneself to live a little, damn nerd.)

My understanding of the term asshii(-kun) is that it's a reference to something from like the late 80's or early 90's? Some old pop culture joke. I don't know the origins or context myself. You're welcome to try to look it up knowing that. I think some other people may have already talked about it (or may be about to).

soundbee hc/aus?

Soundwave likes how smol Bee is. He’s used to being around minis because of his cassettes and with Bee it’s not much different. The only thing is that his minicons are his sparklings and don’t mind being carried by their creator.

He is not Bee’s creator, so Bee gets pretty huffy and pissed when. Soundwave just picks him up without a problem and goes about his day.

He’s got this grown yellow mini in his servos cursing worse than an interim sea sailor telling him to put him down. Going as far as to kick Soundwave in the aft and bite him even, walking away with an angry huff grumbling to himself because he’s “not a child he doesn’t want nor need to be held.”

Soundwave doesn’t even mean any harm by it he’s just trying to get his much needed snuggles from his sparkmate.

Bee does this thing where he twitches his horns every time he’s around Shockwave. Its always subtle and Shockwave knows he does it. He silently watches as Bee does it to him with a barely suppressed smirk that he quickly turns neutral as Soundwave comes face to face with him and asks why he’s twitching his horns.

Bee pretends he doesn’t know what Soundwave is talking about and goes about his business. Only to do it again and again within a joor and Soundwave gets irresponsibly pissed because why is Bee always twitching his horn at Shockwave while working so close and not him?!

It always leads to Soundwave grabbing Bee with his feelers and tentacles taking him to their berth so he can remind him who he belongs to.

Shockwave always shakes his helm at them and he promptly tells Bee to stop working Soundwave up every Earth week just because he likes it rough in the berth.

“One day he’ll come for my helm.”

“He’s too busy making me take all of his in my intake to worry about that.”

Shockwave hates how Bee can invoke emotion from him.

He also admires how no one can see what a little scrap Bee is and how his cute looks hide it.

kahar/fakhri: used to be a bit skeptical about fakhri/kahar but now i've grown to like their dynamics... like please view this pairing with an open heart. so my hc for them is whatever kahar was doing to fakhri during his reign as kapla was all just a projection of whatever megat did to him masa dia form 4. since he probably has horrible coping mechanisms due to lack of sources in kudrat, thats one way to keep him sane la. (lagi insane dibuatnya adala!!) of course la there will be bodily explorations here and there cuz where else right they gain experience on that other than brawling and smoking and getting high altogether? but theres no romantic motives behind it since theres no room for that between those two. but they just get each other, faham tak? cuz both are helpless bongsus. the post-credit scene just solidifies this since they're all buddy buddy now. but that's just it. sometimes kahar would come to the ismets house to buka puasa together. and kahar became a regular there, thus becoming a family friend. like aku ada utk ko, ko ada utk aku typa beat. but time sekolah dulu they fuck like rabbits la ofc, trying this and that sampai hakeem pun cam "yela.... aku ni sape je kan kat ko...." *cue muka hakeem mintak penyepak* "ko kapel dgn aku tapi ko tak nak try kongkek aku pon?!" like sabar dow, keem. sifu tgh belajar dgn fakhri lu.

kahar/hakeem: making a leeway from the first hc, sebenarnya kahar takmau rosakkan hakeem in that way. cuz their love is so pure to kahar. dia nak approach that side dengan hakeem with utmost care. dia dah sakitkan hakeem before this and he wouldn't dare to do that to lil keem keem no more. kahar mcm nak "master" hal2 bawah selimut dulu baru dia ajar hakeem benda bukan2 yang kita dok baca selalu tu. reza/megat: this one...... ohoho.... soooo many layers ye. this one i'm still collecting my thoughts on since it's quite a fresh pairing. tapi alaaa dia lebih kurang macam kahar/hakeem jugak masa sekolah, but if it was fucked up. no happy endings with these boys at all. megat walaupun he still sees beja after graduating as a friend, can lepak for a smoke and makan2 here and there, but he will never, i mean never, go back to his old ways with beja no more. of course the yearning and longing is still there between those two, since kahar keeps being the glue of the brotherly figures, but some things are not meant to be the same anymore. it's almost as if megat is scared that his lil tissue heart gets broken by beja again. kahar ada la kenen2kan both of them again, whenever beja and megat would meet mesti beja bawak kahar sekali "to keep himself grounded", but these stupid boys have soooo many unresolved tensions that needed to be forced out of them to keep their heads quiet whenever they meet eyes. More random ships with our beautiful queen Sora -> Hancock x Sora, Makino x Sora, Corazon x Sora

Hancock and Sora propaly has a age gap like Mihawk x Boa, but hear me out: I hc that Sora had Reiju when she was between 19-22, so makes her having the 1234ji with 22-25, and when Sanji and her are saved by a eighteen Boa, she would have 30-33, more pra less the same age as Mihawk (and also, the DYNAMIC!)

Makino x Sora? Perfect. Sora ran away from Germa with Sanji and stop at Dawn to hide, Sanji finds the ASL+Makino while he is stealing some food and they go help him and his mother (bc Makino is worried about the boy). So both womens just start to live near in case Sora needs help and thry fall in love <3

Corazon x Sora? Pair of sweet blondes who LOVES their children. Sora run away with Sanji and finds Cora (who is with Law) decides to help them and end up falling in love with her. Later on he almost dies bc of Doflamingo but survives and lives with his wife in a small island.

Okay so Hancock x Sora. They are saved and brought to lesbian island. Sora has gotta be teasing Boa like Mihawk does but she makes good on her promises and absolutely flusters Boa. Boa absolutely claims Sanji as her baby as well again and they're a happy little family. Boa using her royal status to spoil them but this is the SASSIEST family. If Boa is still swooning for Luffy, Sora HAS to be looking at her wife with the most unimpressed look. When Boa comes back and whines to her wife their kid is dating Luffy and Sora has to remind her that age gaps can be weird and the way she was doing it was making it weird. Boa looks at her with confusion and Sora explains that Boa flirted with her first. They are absolutely those lesbians that uhaul'd and then got married, and grew old together, they are THE dykes of the pirating world. They have to have the best sex life too tbh.

Makino x Sora. Could you also imagine if this when Shanks is there? Like Luffy and Makino find this Sanji stealing food and then finds Sora after the second or third time. Shanks somehow hasn't lost his arm yet but absolutely plays THE WORST wingman to those women. Sora is somehow the biggest help to Luffy after he eats the devil fruit and then Shanks loses his arm and leaves. Makino and Sora are doing their best to mother these kids but then Luffy disappears and comes back with more??? In the interim the women have gotten together. Sabo knows the queen of Germa when he sees her because he's been to several Reveries but Sora tells him it's a secret or they will all die. She's not even joking and then pats Sabo on the head. When ASL see her kiss Makino for the first time they ask Sanji about it and he's like 'idk, she's better than my dad' which Ace says Makino is better than his dad too.

Sora x Corazon. This man and his lead poisoned son find Sora and Sanji, her sick and dying as well and Sanji starved and matted. Fuck it, they could all band together and survive. Right? Right. They're traveling and Law is getting sicker and Sora is plateaued in her illness so that's probably a good thing. Cora is carrying both of them as Sanji follows as fast as his little legs will carry him. They bond over the kids and the kids bond over death. Listen, their fucked up, all of them. They save Law and Corazon from Doflamingo and death. Sora manages to stop the bleeding and asks where the boys are. So when he is propped and set to live and hidden somewhere she goes and finds the boys. They settle on an island until the boys set off, even if they don't think Sanji is quite old enough to be a pirate. It's fine, Law keeps Sanji on ship duties only until he's like fifteen and now he's Law's left hand. Cora and Sora(fuck i love that) display their sons proudly and the kids hang new photos their parents send them regularly. Cora is usually holding his much smaller wife with a cigarette in his mouth while on fire and Sora smiling widely while dumping water on her husband's flaming coat.
