One thing that really pissed me off while watching episode 4 of IOTNBO is that not a single person checked on Moon-young. Seriously, you all just watched her father try to kill her and not a single person thought “oh let me check on the victim”

It's Okay to Not Be Okay

I'm late to the party but I just watched it and I freaking LOVED it.

I've had bad luck with shows this year, a lot of the ones I started out enjoying, sort of lost steam, or their plotting was flawed.

But IOTNBO was so good throughout. Sure, a couple of metaphors were a touch heavy-handed and a few twists (not all) predictable. But I didn't care AT ALL they still WORKED, and the fairy tale theme and imagery throughout really worked to heighten the emotion for me.

At its heart it was about two people who had been totally fucked by their childhoods finding each other, exposing each other’s vulnerabilities and finally healing each other. And that sort of story is literal crack to me.

I didn't even care that they were straight - the intensity of their connection felt very queer to me. Also, I loved that it was always Moon Young pushing for sex and Gang Tae pulling away.

The thing I loved the most is that the story starts strong and consistent throughout. No flabby middle or illogical ending. So happy.

One of the Best Scenes

can we talk how commendable this scene was executed? the old man (sorry i forgot the name) was one of my favorite character, he looked so kind and warm. and then after knowing his story, i was literally left in awe. he acted so well his trauma, his struggle and his fear. i was in tears when he told his story while crying, remembering the war and the people, the innocent ones that he killed. and, please, his insights about getting entrap in his past trauma is everything.

Moon Sang Tae, sir, my love and respect for you increased rapidly after seeing this. You can't really love anyone less. my love for this drama soaring so high by now. They dont really know how to disappoint.
