Look, Eddie would’ve stopped randomly biting Steve years ago if he would literally react with anything other than mild annoyance.
#Steve: *reaching for a beaker in their shared science class*#Eddie: *chomping on his hand*#Steve: Dude can you not?#Oppose to just decking him which even Eddie thinks would be an appropriate response#Eddie sees Steve and immediately wants to chomp him#he doesn’t know why either#steve harrington#eddie munson

I JUST HAD A THOUGHT (it's midnight and I'm typing this in the dark so bear with me)
what if the reason mandalorians don't give their kids to the Jedi isn't because the have beef with the jedi because they HAVENT always had beef with the Jedi, it's because they have their own organization of force-users?
now at first, you might IMAGINE this would be an organization of warriors. but unlike the Jedi, Mandalorians are a society built around war and they do not teach self-restraint as a tenet early on. I imagine that it only took one or two little dances with the dark side before Mandalorians figured out that it beehooved them to keep the space psychics OFF the battlefield.
So instead i'm imagining some kind of Oracle-of-Delphi type situation where their primary function is more or less providing vibe checks. Young mandalorians identified as force-sensitive are sent to live in a remote temple where they are raised as novices and attendants to the current "oracles" and learn how to use the force (though they have different terms for it) to get a feeling for things. Then, when--for example--the mand'alor comes to them asking about whether or not to undertake a military campaign, they'll either be like "yeah go for it buddy" or "ehhhhh i've got a bad feeling about this."
thoughts?
#oh yeah and if you're like me and like trashing death watch at every opportunity we could headcanon that the mandalorian civil war#got started when the death watch leader went to the 'oracles' who said some less than polite things about death watch's interpretation#of the mandalorian way and mr. death watch leader guy decided the appropriate response to that was to try and murder them all#and the rest of mandalore was like '...bruh. NOT COOL.'#jessica's random thoughts#star wars#mandalorians

i've been conducting some serious challia bull research here
#challia bull#gundam#mobile suit gundam#gundam gquuuuuux#gquuuuuux#gqux#can you tell i'm excited for gqux. just a little#the hypothesis of this research was that the mustache in his original design contributes the most to him looking like a 60 yr old#i think this hypothesis was correct!#drawing his gqux hairstyles to match the style of his og face was a challenge but it turned out way more decent than i thought it would 😭#i guess i could've changed his eye color too but that feels like less significant than his hair/facial hair style#i was doing this at 3 in the morning yesterday. the most appropriate and responsible time to do research on a weeknight#anyway happy weekend everyone :D#screenshot redraw#arttag

The Dragon Prince s7e2: Shockingly, a Bunch of Teenagers Make Emotionally Immature Teenager Decisions
#i have zero expectation of callum achieving any kind of emotional maturity point in his entire life#like lbr this dude will be 40 and still acting like a complete fool god bless him#meanwhile rayla is having an episode of magical thinking that is fairly unusual for HER#but entirely understandable for a seventeen-year-old whose rekindled romance is central to her current set of maladaptive trauma responses#anyway very like s5e3 in terms of 'oh right all of these people are operating with the inherent penalty of being literally sixteen'#so whining like a teenager grounded from prom is actually not totally unreasonable from a developmental appropriateness standpoint

This winter will be my moment I just know it. Diligent studying, regulated time on my phone, walks in the freezing cold, perfecting my skincare routine, wearing my hair curly, nourishing my body w the best foods, watching more critically acclaimed films, consuming more books, dainty gold jewelry, drinking lots more water, warm spicy perfumes, dark lip gloss, tights under miniskirts, wool sweaters, going out of my comfort zone a lot more, and just another massive growth spurt like the one I had last year around this time. I adore this time of year so much bc it always heralds a metamorphosis. I am so ready <3 <3 <3
#🤍🌨🧤❄️☃️#<- immaculate vibes#last year’s growth spurt was about emotional regulation / coping w feelings#this year’s will be about focusing on more practical goals like time management / planning / adult responsibilities etc etc#which I think is an appropriate transition now that I’m 21#I’m ready !!#p

the way samira gives trinity feedback & the way she talks to patients really makes me think that she very intentionally studied patient care & psychological care-taking in addition to what she was already doing out of instinct.
i don't doubt that she's innately empathetic. i think having an eye for how other people are feeling is most likely something that's just part of her personality & perspective.
but she often uses very purposeful phrasing. therapy-speak, if you will, but in a way that's appropriate for both the character and the situation because she is at work - she employs this p much only with patients, with the people she teaches or is taught by, there is a lot less intentionality behind it. she talks about 'i' and 'you' statements, talks about 'empathy' towards patients as sort of a tangible thing that can be learned.
the one exception is, again, her talking to trinity, asking why trinity took the blame for something. that's her floundering and trying to look for the right - the diplomatic - words to describe a workplace incident. it can be a comfort to distance yourself from the feeling of it that way, or sometimes it might be someone speaking who's had to learn how to express themselves.
and i assume that's because she learned more of this stuff, in whatever setting.
#the pitt#samira mohan#emspeak#i have this image of samira googling “what is the appropriate communicative response to this or that” and falling down a rabbit hole
