#JackedKirby - Lady Sif vs Loki!!! 💥💥💥 I was looking for some inspiration for a post today so I put out some feelers to my buddies in my comic book group chat to ask for some characters to post. Our very own @tommylombardozzi suggested Lady Sif... so here ya go!!! 💥💥💥 Lady Sif, elite female warrior of Asgard, made her first appearance in Journey Into Mystery #Issue102 from May of 1964. She is the sister of Heimdall, and considered to be one of the most formidable warriors in all of the nine realms. She regularly appears right in the middle of the mix alongside the Warriors Three and Thor himself. 💥💥💥 This particular page comes from #Issue153 of The Mighty Thor, published in June of 1968. Here Sif is going toe to toe with the God of Mischief himself, Loki! I love the dynamic movements of Sif & Loki as they square off in battle... well done by The King! I’ve included both the original printing coloring (pic 1) and the reprint digital coloring (pic 2). #JackedKirby - That beard ain't gonna shave itself!!! Kirby and Lee's Nick Fury run on Strange Tales is full of amazing technology and gadgetry that have long been associated with S.H.I.E.L.D. to this very day... and a huge amount of opening splash pages featuring our titular hero! #Issue153 was published in February of 1967 and features an awesome story called The Hiding Place. While the story is typical Fury nuttiness, you have to love the random opening splashes that Jack sprinkles in! The book opens with Nick Fury reading a newspaper while sitting in a barber's chair. His ever present eye patch is there... and he has a face full of shaving cream awaiting the straight edge. But the thing that jumps out off the page has to be the fact that Fury is SMOKING A CIGAR WITH A FACE FULL OF SHAVING CREAM!!! And it's lit!!! Only Jack would do something like this... amazing.
