How does AO3 work? cause I can’t figure out how everyone else who has stories on it do it the way they do it- maybe it’s a device thing, because mines on phone and theirs probably aren’t.-

to post, I write on a separate writing software (something like dropbox or google docs) and then use my laptop to upload a new chapter. it's a little difficult to explain in text how I do that so, I'm sorry !

I read on mobile, it's kinda hard to post from there to be honest.

A little zine about how I (still) have trouble saying the word aromantic.

I've never made a zine before! I was inspired to try it because @queerliblib mentioned a zine making night in an email. That hasn't happened yet - its on June 26th - but once I had the idea, I couldn't wait, lol. It was nice to put something down on paper and have the finished product to hold onto.

Page 1: Three tiny speech bubbles say: "Do you have a bf? Do you like anyone? What's your type?" A big speech bubble says, "Oh, I don't date." The big speech bubble comes from a heart colored like the aromantic flag. 

Page 2 says: I could say: "Actually, I'm... ...aromantic." ...aro." ...aromantic asexual." ...aroace."

Page 3 says: But there are a few problems:

aromantic: Has been misheard as "A Romantic".

aro: Opaque if you don't already know the term.

aromantic asexual: A mouthful! And sounds...scientific?

aroace: shares The Big Problem: it may require a vocabulary lesson!

Page 4 says: It doesn't actually come up too often! Which is fine. My coworkers, my neighbors, and strangers don't need to know I'm aroace. I just wish I could say it sincerely when I do want someone to know. 

Page 5 says: I always have to smile - laugh - hedge. "Oh, well, actually, I'm kind of like, aromantic? Basically just not interested."

It's been more than 8 years since the first time I said it out loud!  I'm certain of it, but I still can't say it like I mean it!

Page 6 says: The most memorable time I said "I don't date" the guy I was talking to asked "Oh are you asexual?" and I said "Yeah, actually. And aromantic." And we moved on.

That was nice. 

Page 7 says:

The times I've lead with "I'm aromantic" -- well, there's only one I really remember:

"I didn't use to think that was a real thing." 

Other than that time -- even if I use the word, I always explain what it means first! 

Page 8 says: I just hope that one day I'll feel like I can say, simply, confidently: "I'm aromantic" and "I'm aroace."

The words "I'm aromantic" are big and dark green, the color of the top stripe of the aromantic flag. The words "I'm aroace" are big and bright orange, the color of the top stripe of the aroace flag. Three hearts below the words are colored to look like the aromantic, aroace, and asexual flags.

i realize this looks finished, but technically i'm still deciding whether to add a background or not lol. still, for the sake of sharing a proper WIP, here's a line or two from an araleyn brainworm WIP that i started reworking yesterday (mild tw for religious guilt and period-typical internalized homophobia from aragon's pov):

She remembers sharing her bed with Anne at Henry's behest, remembers the nights of tossing and turning and trying not to think about Anne asleep next to her-- remembers waking up to dark hair spilling across her pillow and the press of blood-warm bosoms against her own, softer than sin, as hot as the Devil, remembers lying still as death, mouthing prayers into the heat of Anne's neck like an act of penance.

i might end up with a kid said kid being my niece because of reasons my mom is only allowed to take her if she and her fiancé live separately (he didn't do anything like super bad his oldest was taken from her mom and their attempts to contact him failed so he lost custody) which they really can't afford to do

so now im getting a background check done to see if i can (which i would be shocked if i failed it because my life is boring and I've never done anything in my life) the only negative is unlike mom i live across state lines which means it could be alot longer of a process but at the same time it's kind of the only option that we can come up with for getting her back with family who already know and love her

Sarah! If Castiel were to pick any 3 animals or plants he could possess [we know it's hypothetical because he can't actually, as he needs permission], which would he choose and why?

First of all: a honeybee. Duh. They're his favorite animals, and he likes the matriarchy of a hive and how everything works perfectly together. It reminds him of the Heavenly Host (if the Host wasn't a fucked-up piece of shit system). Plus, the importance of bees as pollinators for most of humanity's food resources? Yeah. Castiel wants to feel like he is needed. Like he can help. He wants to prove that he isn't useless.

Then I think he'd pick an African elephant. Again: the matriarchal structure and that tight-knit family is something he appreciates and longs for. Also, he thinks the trunks are very handy, and their form of communication through vibrations is extraordinary.

And lastly, Cas would pick an octopus. Why? Mainly because he thinks they're cool and interesting-looking (vs. humans, for example). They have 8 arms, which can perform separate tasks simultaneously! That's so much better than two arms. Also, they are masters of camouflage and can change not only their color but also the brightness and patterns. Then they can release a squirt of ink to escape danger, and they are venomous. Honestly, what's not cool about octopi? Chuck did an excellent job here.

do people like. actually enjoy reading fics with caricaturised antagonists. and this isnt even just abt jiang cheng ive seen it done with jgy, wen ruohan, jgs, even lan xichen isn't immune to it. im talking like, spewing the most senseless stuff that barely even makes logical sense to them in the context of the fic, let alone in canon. it's so?? weird to read?? u can just like, have a regular antagonist you know. they don't have to have outlandishly evil speeches or monologues or plans. they can just like, be a dick.

hazuki is a wild character (at least to me) in the sense that he was in literally only 2 scenes, one of which very short, and he feels so insanely important to the plot in a way where i desperately want to write about him but we have so very little info that i feel as though i am scraping up bread crumbs that are crushed into the earth for a semblance of something to work with
